I've come to realize that ~~arguing~~ cOmMuNiCaTiNg with men is almost always pointless.

You try to explain something, and instead of responding to the core message, they latch onto small details or misinterpret individual words/phrases. This redirects the conversation so that the two of you are now arguing about something completely different.

It's as though they believe that the sole purpose of listening is to discover new ways to undermine you, and NOT to better understand your perspective. They are only listening for key terms they can repeat so that it sounds like they're answering the question (they're not), and filter out everything else.

They seem to think they are superior for using their Rational Male Logic, when really they are just smugly regurgitating some pseudoscientific nonsense. They speak haughtily as though they are just soooo clever, but the majority of the time they are simply reducing a complex issue down to a few punchy buzzwords.

There is no benefit to engaging in conversation with contrarian men, only different degrees of failure. Avoid them like the plague. Collegehumor made a pretty funny sketch about it tho.

As someone who has taken college thermodynamics, I understand that “renewable energy” doesn’t break any of the laws of thermodynamics. He’s just saying words he doesn’t understand to sound smart, sick of men like this.
