Sounds like you were afraid. It'll be read as either rejection or afraid. Doesn't matter now. you have defined yourself as this to her. you'll probably never shake that image. Move on.

Many of these posts are correct. She's only "thinking" of you now because something has gone wrong with the new guy. Then she can come back to you until someone better comes along. Listen to "User Friendly" by Marilyn Manson. You get the idea.
