So, interestingly, she has a week on her own with the kids as it is half term. She originally did that so we could spend time together as a family (this was pre-split). A week without me in the house, on her own, with the children... Since we split and did the half a week each, I tidied the house and set it up for the kids for when she gets back in, not her. The state I get the house in makes it look like it has been burgled (not the actual case, she blames it on the children and that she can al…

I had the same thought but trying to rationalise it was tough. I don't see her as being manipulative, but maybe that is because I am in the middle of it all. She has taken SSRIs for depression and anxiety (like myself) for a while now, so there is a possibility that she might be experiencing a flare up or episode (whatever it is called).

So, this isn't the first time someone has told me to move back into the house. I have set up the spare bedroom and would happily live there, but I don't have the courage to do it. I'm worried it will make everything worse in the long run.

I know I haven't given much in the way of context, but there is no way there is another dude... she doesn't have time, especially now that we have split up. She is a doctor... :-P It isn't a confidence boost, just a fact she has told me herself and have observed as it has impacted her connection with the children from birth (essentially... well... when she wasn't pregnant or on maternity leave). Maybe she would have more time for us if she saw compromise on this issue and this possibly wouldn't …

Wow... you have clearly thought this through and hold a lot of knowledge on these issues. For that I really do thank you for taking the time out to comment and give me some advice. I suppose that I can only try to implement some of these changes over the next few days and think about positive habits (meditation etc.) which support my mental health and will give me focus for this mammoth task. I will re-engage with her over some of her concerns as I am aware of some of these issues, but some need…

Thanks everyone for your comments, I appreciate the advice you have given me and can see many other perspectives on this issue. I really would like this to work, as I still do love her to bits. I am not a PDA person in a social media context, so I won't say more than that. I am going to therapy at the moment, I will be having my second session on Monday and I will continue this journey of betterment for myself, my wife and my family unit. My children mean the world to me and I would like for the…
