Wife is now the breadwinner and wants a divorceHarsh but true! I know dudes will say it does not matter but yoi have to think of all situations! | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/06/26 11:11 AM
| – | Did anyone else end up divorced shortly after giving in to pressure to have children?Yep, so glad I divorced over not wanting kids. Even though I put in the work. It's better to lose your house and some $, but get out of a bad relationship. Karmically, sometimes I wonder if the fates were against me though, I got out of the divorce ok but then lost my job a few months later. While some of the job loss was my fault and I will take accountability for that, I sometimes wonder if I had stayed in the relationship than fate would have kept me from unemployment too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 04:32 AM |
Did anyone else end up divorced shortly after giving in to pressure to have children? Then explain all the rich tech bros and girlboss types in the fire subreddits! I think there are more rich people now, but more poor as well. K-shaped economy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 04:09 AM
Did anyone else end up divorced shortly after giving in to pressure to have children?I empathize with you. I was open to 1 kid at first, she wanted 5-6. Got a house and then got divorced after I was tired of doing all the housework and being a slave to her and her family. I learned to stand my ground and become my own person, even though I lost her and the house. To quote George Strait: I ain't got a dime But what I've got is mine I ain't rich But Lord, I'm free And honestly, bringing kids into this world in 2026 is not worth it either, unless you have a great job, to be blunt. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 04:07 AM
Holy smokesAnd worse yet, most of the judges and therapists are now female...even if it is unconscious bias, it's still bias. Men need to have their heads on swivels. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 04:02 AM
Holy smokesThe menopause sub is next-level horror, even worse than the latest set of the Halloween remakes...1978 will be the OG Halloween 😄 | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 03:49 AM
Holy smokesI don't know what the deal is with all sorts of women now getting tats everywhere! I know, do your own thing, etc., whatevs, but it must be a trend now for them to have them all over. Used to be a tat here and there and/or discrete (for women and men). | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 03:37 AM
The equity in the house was worth more than my freedom. It seems the courts will go along with what the wife says, no questions asked. Is there anything you can do to combat the protection order (with counsel)? | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 02:00 AM
I have a lack of empathy for any man willing to marry at this point.I kinda see his points (mostly disagree with them, but some parts he's not totally wrong!) but he's very young, and the cherry tablet is forbidden for a reason. I was in tablet land for a little bit and saw it was not a candy store at all--it was poison! | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 01:49 AM
I have a lack of empathy for any man willing to marry at this point.Exactly! And most men in that spot would feel awkward too, due to related situations socially. Most 200k women wouldn't run in the same crowds either as 50k men. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 01:03 AM
I have a lack of empathy for any man willing to marry at this point. In this economy kids are a huge financial risk. Am just trying to hang on to a career! | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/26 12:46 AM

Do men need to improve their education levels to remain competitive in the workforce with women and also in the dating world? Why is Rich a chump? Only so I know and can save time from listening to him, etc. if what you say is true? I still may listen to him regardless, just curious on your thoughts. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/05/26 01:20 AM
Do men need to improve their education levels to remain competitive in the workforce with women and also in the dating world? But due to DEI and corporate initiatives, most bigger companies will hire them to hit targets/goals, etc. That said I have no issue hiring a woman over a man IF she is more qualified than he is. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/05/26 01:18 AM
Do men need to improve their education levels to remain competitive in the workforce with women and also in the dating world?Appreciate your honesty, I was sold a lie that I had to go about it a certain way, etc. But I see I have to just forge my own path. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/05/26 02:48 PM
Do men need to improve their education levels to remain competitive in the workforce with women and also in the dating world?I get that part, trying to build my insurance business! | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/05/26 05:38 PM

Do men need to improve their education levels to remain competitive in the workforce with women and also in the dating world?Thank you all! | 17 | I’m a lesbian and this sub is a breath of fresh airAs a male who is also divorced, welcome to our sub! This sub is one of the most tolerant ones for divorce out there, in my opinion. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/26 01:25 PM
Maybe Divorce Made Me a ChauvinistTrue, I wish more men went to college! | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/26 06:38 PM
Maybe Divorce Made Me a ChauvinistIt does not help that there is the stereotype (younger men) that men play video games and are lazy. I will say men as a whole need to go to college more to keep up with women career-wise. There is no better time than now for white women in corporate jobs--and that is the imbalance. Many companies make it harder on men nowadays. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/26 03:37 PM
Separation woke me up: men carry it all, women cash the chequeI see why younger men (Gen Alpha and Gen Z) are foregoing marriage and are fine doing their own thing. They are wising up. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/09/25 03:18 AM
Separation woke me up: men carry it all, women cash the chequeI'm glad I got out before we had kids--I was becoming an accessory to her life and her family, and ignored. Had we had kids I would have done most of the work and still expected to have a job. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/09/25 03:16 AM
Curious question for men who are divorced and aren’t interested in a relationship how do you handle your sexual urges without a partner? What works is Irish dancing and running 55-60 mpw! | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/09/25 03:24 PM
Lessons learned from using divorce attorney + saving money on caseIt's a scam to an extent...they know the general pop doesn't know legal jargon, motions, filings, etc. and can take advantage of that. Maybe scam is the wrong word but they have leverage over us--I may have been a little too harsh but still. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/09/25 07:12 PM
Lessons learned from using divorce attorney + saving money on caseNo, I should have clarified it--next time I need a lawyer in general, try to be more efficient in keeping costs down (not necessarily another divorce). | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/09/25 02:46 AM
Does any of this resonate with you?And there is the Women Who Run With the Wolves book too, which my ex was recommended to read. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/25 06:04 PM
Lessons learned from using divorce attorney + saving money on caseThanks! I had heard of people doing it themselves for $500 but I'm neither smart nor talented enough to get it done that way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/25 05:54 PM
Why do they never level up?I see female privilege in corporate culture all the time. Usually it is just the Kibbe types but not all! | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/05/25 01:07 AM
What Lesson?I am in the same boat. We were together until I realized having kids with her wasn't going to work out. Sometimes things just suck and it's nobody's fault, the situation and people change over time. It is better to divorce and rebuild yourself after you realize what's happening to avoid sunk-cost fallacy. I'm glad you got out of that relationship even if it wasn't the way you wanted...you may have dodged a bullet further on down the line! | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/05/25 02:20 PM
Still struggling a little with divorce--hardest part is losing your network/friendsThank you! I keep to myself. At least at the new dance studio nobody knows me and I can start over. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/05/25 02:52 PM
Stock market Loss, she filed for DivorceExactly, the man feels weak/dependent and the woman sees the man as not useful (in that case). They will say it doesn't matter (I see it on reddit, a lot of guys say they want sugar mamas), but deep down both genders know and feel something is off. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/05/25 01:52 PM
Bannedlol love it! But seriously, good post! | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/05/25 06:47 PM
BannedRespect this post 100% and my heart goes out to you but what was a "mother's day reading?" | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/05/25 05:07 PM
How do you get over the unfairness of a 50/50 financial split when you spent your entire marriage supporting her medical career?I'd squeeze as much out of her as I can. No shame, no regret. Go for it! Yes, it'll cost you more $ and time, but you'll at least be able to help your kiddo out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/05/25 04:51 PM
My role as a man in my former marriage has turned me off from datingA lot of guys on other reddits you'll see will also be fine being chill with the wife outearning him and being a sugar momma. While I am for equality I'd hate to feel like a dependent. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/05/25 02:35 PM
I'm lost. My wife doesn't love me anymore and wants separation and divorce. I am devastatedI follow the Ukraine war b/c I am a history nerd but that DEFINITELY puts my own struggles into perspective 100% | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 04:33 AM
I'm lost. My wife doesn't love me anymore and wants separation and divorce. I am devastatedWhen I told my stbx about divorcing due to not agreeing on kids, she changed her mannerisms 180 degrees. When I leave I am totally fine with her keeping the house--I just want to start over (luckily, I have savings and assets in my own account, etc.). | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 04:30 AM
I'm lost. My wife doesn't love me anymore and wants separation and divorce. I am devastatedThe point about the prostitute is wise; women know women, and having STRONG female friendships is vital to knowing how to fix your own shit and also be better in dealing with all women (romantically or not). | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 04:28 AM
I'm lost. My wife doesn't love me anymore and wants separation and divorce. I am devastatedIt sounds like hysterical bonding; be careful, protect your BC and keep your condoms under lock and key. And always check them. Better yet, no sex at all until you're gone. Even better yet, get a vasectomy to be safe...baby-trapping sucks for men. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 04:22 AM
Struggling to processEver since the "no kids" thing came to a head with mine, she has been clinical and cold (not mean) so I get where you are coming from 100%. Hang in there! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/04/25 12:00 AM
My wife wants a divorce and we’re still living in the same house. I feel like I’m losing everything.TY for clarifying, my pending divorce has caused me some stress. That story is a wakeup call for me! I've never heard of a functional med clinic before. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/04/25 08:13 PM
My wife wants a divorce and we’re still living in the same house. I feel like I’m losing everything.Wow, I thought the doc was being sarcastic but was he? | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/04/25 07:56 PM
Loss of friends and changes in lifestyleGood post above, very salient and thoughtful! | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/04/25 03:26 AM
Loss of friends and changes in lifestyleI empathize with you 100% as a musician/pianist myself. Weirdly, this post came up as I was listening to Peter Cetera's "World Falling Down" album. Cetera ran Chicago for years. He wrote the album in '92 after going through his own divorce in the '90s. Great songs--"Even a Fool Can See" and "Man in Me" are all about divorce, being a man, and being free, very good lyrics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fv2Ina7Gqw | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/25 04:50 PM
I think I'm finally 'getting over the hump'.Getting mine soon; this is why we are splitting up. I think she is wanting to baby-trap me! | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/04/25 07:29 PM
Having trouble with taking wife's spousal supportTrue. And more women outearn men nowadays, so getting a bigger payday may help men going forward as careers change and dynamics change. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/04/25 03:45 PM
Miraculous Change of TuneYep! 50 points to Gryffindor. You get it! And, I think it's her parents too--70% is her wanting kids but 30% is guilt from her parents and extended family. East Coast Italian Catholic guilt lol :) Also, even if we did have kids, I could now see her dumping the kid on me and divorcing, or she takes the kid with her and divorces. Either way, the kid loses. We divorce before the kid, we can both end up happier later on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/04/25 02:41 AM
How do you get past the fact that your ex technically “has it easy” now… with her disregarding all of your effort, and shaping the entire situation as if she was a victim of the marriage. Are free consults a thing any more? The few lawyers I called up wanted to jump right to $250/hr. for a basic consult even before talking about retainer (which I was expecting to pay for regardless). | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/04/25 08:19 PM
How do you get past the fact that your ex technically “has it easy” now… with her disregarding all of your effort, and shaping the entire situation as if she was a victim of the marriage. What is "T4D" in this context? | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/04/25 08:14 PM
Financial trouble AFTER the divorceRight, but feminists still feel women earn less than men and I think in some cases that is still true. I think in a lot of white-collar occupations women earn more. I see it on the breadwinners sub and women's subs; the female is usually in FinTech and the husband has a hugely lower-level job and it's awkward. When the wife earns more but BOTH are in high-paying jobs it's not a big deal at all. I think the issue is social class and social circles--the wife runs in higher-powered circles and dad … | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/04/25 08:03 PM
Miraculous Change of TuneThis is happening to me as well to a degree because I'm going through EMDR therapy. Wife is pressuring me to do this EMDR therapy to change my mind on having a baby. If I "changed" it she'd miraculously go back to how she was before lol. But I wouldn't count on it. /sarcasm I think you are doing the right thing here! | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/04/25 07:58 PM
At a fork in the roadThat's scary. I know modern men are chill about their wives earning more, and it shouldn't be a big deal, but I can see why this doubles. They don't need men at that point! | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/04/25 05:19 PM
If your marriage isn't working and there are no kids involved — leave sooner rather than laterYou read my mind! I am doing this. It's going to cost me probably $10k and that will sting a little bit but I'll be free! | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/04/25 02:53 PM
Why are women always so quick to advocate divorce?Walk in another direction = another name for a British sports car plus a US Army anti-tank missile (BGM-71). Hooah! | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 10:24 PM
Why are women always so quick to advocate divorce?I get you now 100%. Fifty points to you! 🙃👀 | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 10:22 PM
Why couldn't I have a healthy life and marriage?Am learning EMDR to help w/childhood trauma. I'm wondering if I married a nicer version of my mother lol! | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 05:17 PM
Why couldn't I have a healthy life and marriage?Sometimes you don't know at the time that the person you'd marry would change, or you would. Sometimes you think you want kids after being married but back out because you're doing all the parenting already and working a job on top of that and kids are too much. (Better to regret not having kids because "society says so" then have them and hate them--a la regretfulparents sub). Sometimes it's just a matter of "shit happens." Or, as Dave Mason sang, "there ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad gu… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 05:08 PM
Why are women always so quick to advocate divorce? What is the "crimson capsule" reference in this context? | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 04:33 PM
Why are women always so quick to advocate divorce? This is why I'm divorcing. Having to take care of her and a future kid would be too much. Would rather lose $ and get my freedom back! | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 04:32 PM
Why are women always so quick to advocate divorce?A lot of guys are now ok with with their wives earning more, no big deal, but it's awkward (at least to me) if the woman makes 150-200% more. I see career couples on reddit where guy makes 100k (nice) but the wife make 500k and is at a Big4 company. If it works for them great but it would affect their social circles long-term. If the wife makes 100k and the husband makes 80k no problemo. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/25 04:26 PM
Ex showed up with her new boyfriend to drop off our sonAs a car guy going through divorce this resonated with me (pun intended). You never know, you could meet new friends or a wife at a car show! | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/03/25 12:58 AM
Why do men become the boiled frog so often?Wife wants me to do EMDR before she can get a divorce b/c she thinks that will change my mind. EMDR does help w/things, of course, but I'm not going to change my mind. I was up front with her and wanted the divorce but she at least is realizing it is an option now... | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/25 09:50 PM
Why do men become the boiled frog so often? That's a blunt but very funny and valid analogy! | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/25 02:48 AM
Why do men become the boiled frog so often? This is happening to me and I just woke up as a reforming (in-process) people-pleaser, who realized having kids would be a red flag in the relationship. With therapy I'm planning an exit strategy to get out of the relationship....would rather lose the house but get my sanity back! | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/25 02:45 AM
Why do men become the boiled frog so often? This is definitely me, esp. with the people-pleasing side! | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/25 02:34 AM
Best way to break the news to keep things amicable?Your story mirrors mine, sans the kid. I am divorcing because I changed my mind on having kids. I will lose my house and marriage but hopefully will be free. I am realizing it is worth it, and to not bring a kid into this world w/spouse will be me dodging a bullet. Her personality changed once I told her I did not want kids with her. I've always been a people-pleaser and one day I just said "ENOUGH!" | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/25 02:24 AM
Has anyone been on the r/Divorce subreddit? I feel like it’s run by women and is 90% posts from women talking about how much they hate being married and want a divorce.I try to modify the avatar as well before jumping into another sub if I want my gender to be private. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/03/25 02:12 AM

When did you know the marriage was over?Same here, my intuition told me that kids wouldn't be on the table but I was open to 1 at the time we got married. Something clicked a few months ago and I don't want kids as a result. We will have to break up--worse than the Beatles. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/25 05:53 PM
Did any of you end your marriage when neither party did anything wrong?I gotcha on your situation! Kids are able to keep a marriage together a little big longer. I'm learning more about myself in this marriage thing. Only been married 2 years, 9 mos. Even if there is short-term pain divorcing her, it may be for everyone's benefit. She will go find a more suitable man to protect/provide for the 4-5 kids she wants... | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/25 05:50 PM
Did any of you end your marriage when neither party did anything wrong?Very interesting last paragraph--how did the successful re-married guys break their misconceptions? And good point about looking how you relate to yourself--that is huge. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/25 05:48 PM
Did any of you end your marriage when neither party did anything wrong?I may get a copy! | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/25 05:43 PM
Did any of you end your marriage when neither party did anything wrong?I've read that happens sometimes, where the guy has a baby at her request and does his best to help her but then people change anyway. Within a few years of a new marriage the divorce happens. I'm probably going to divorce my wife before we have kids...things are falling apart but the key is to stay strong. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/03/25 05:42 PM
