I'm pretty sure you are overthinking the line. This line was nice because it came from within you, no afterthought, and it was in context. But lines won't give you kisses. Kino escalation, eye contact, emotional connections will. my 2 cents.

This is actually pretty simple. Look out for IOI's and Kino escalate. From the BEGINNING of the conversation you should have kinoed a bit. And escalate through the whole 30 minutes of the conversation. If you don't know what is either of those, than google it. It's my thermometer when I talk to girls. It works incredibly well.
