That's where I've been for months. I only recently accepted that I am also in no condition to walk out right now. If I do, I'll be fucking RUN OVER by the next piece of pussy that looks my way. Fix yourself FIRST.

OYS #19 Short update from last week & new format. Given my new focus on getting back to the basics and just working the fucking program instead of fucking around and trying to take shortcuts, my OYS for the time being will be simple, short and focused on LIFT, SIDEBAR, and STFU LIFT Not a good week. Only hit the weights twice and ran twice. I need to focus on getting more sleep as well as more time under the bar. The coming week includes a lot of travel, so I don’t know what my access to a gym i…

There is no start over. You can't retake the red pill just like you can't restart your life as if the past never occurred. This is why I call it a reset and not a restart. I have learned a lot about myself through my failures over the last few months and last few weeks in particular. Quite a lot of moments finding myself thinking, "Ohhhhh, THAT's what it is..." Acta non verba means (to me) that I must do, not talk about what I am going to to. After I have done, I can look back and talk (here) …

OYS #18 Complete reset. I have to start over. I have been half-assing every aspect of this RP work I think I am doing on myself. Every. Single. Bit. I have been half-assing my fitness improvements. (LIFT!) I have been half-assing my reading and MAP. (SIDEBAR!) I have been half-assing my efforts to "stop being unattractive." (STFU!) I'm not going to go over all the shit that has gone down in my life since my last OYS. It's been a lot. Some good, mostly bad. A lot of it major. Somehow I'm stil…

pull out my gun and hurt someone because I’m not okay with who I am. Consider this very carefully. I carried a gun for personal protection every day for more than 10 years. But I stopped carrying a couple of years ago because I realized I was getting to a place, mentally, where I knew that my judgement and restraint could be compromised. I think I'm getting back to where I can trust myself carrying again... But I'm not there yet.

Tell her "it's me not you", help her do everything, keep her happy. Pump her up, make her feel like she has a bright future. Do anything an everything to keep it smooth through the divorce process. This is definitely the way to go. You have to keep your eye on the long game. If you tip her off or try to burn her and piss her off, you will lose. There is nothing to be gained from that. Be her friend, play the nice card... To get what YOU need from the separation. I'm also on the middle of plannin…

OYS #17 Fitness: 5’ 6”, BF in the low-20s Squat – 360, Deadlift – 360, Bench Press – 230, Overhead Press – 147.5 Decent training week this week. Weight training 3 times, 1 run. Also, don't kid yourself into thinking these are shit tests. They are compliance tests. She wants to put you back into that position of subservient man child. These little lines boil my blood too. "Make sure you brush their teeth before bed." No shit, woman. I really don't need to be told that their teeth need to be brushed. But, there it is...every night. She's in charge because she has to tell me that their teeth need to be brushed.

I was up to 40mg Vyvanse at one point. It killed my boner dead and made me grind my teeth like a speed freak. It also gave me a HUGE mood swing when it wore off in the evenings. Made a super asshole every day when I got home from work. But, it helped my symptoms. I only took it for a few months. I tried Strattera very briefly, it didn't work at all. Now I'm taking 15.7mg of Adzenys XR-ODT in the morning. It's a 50/50 mix of Adderall XR & IR. Since I take it at about 530 AM, it's pretty much worn…

ADHD might make it harder, but why buy into what's ultimately self limiting bullshit with no upside? That's my point, really. We all have our own limitations in different areas. The core of Owning One's Shit is to stop using them as excuses to fail and do what it takes to be effective anyway. No one has told me I'm special, almost everyone has told me, "oh that's bullshit, stop trying to use it as an excuse for being lazy"
/r/MarriedRedPill23/08/18 02:15 PM

That's the core of ADHD. It's a (usually) severe deficiency in executive function. There have been brain studies showing structural differences in the frontal cortex of ADHD patients that could be the cause. But, there are also studies showing that effective use of stimulant medications and therapy can lead to changes in the structure of the frontal cortex as well. It's not the drugs that change the brain. The drugs assist in forming new habits that lead to new neural pathways that lead to struc…

Got really affected (bitten by the demon, se above) when she said this she wasn't coming home, but manage to STFU anyway, didn't answer her texts.. She calmed down eventually, texted again that she was actually going to come home, that "a meeting had been cancelled" so she would be able to stick to our original plan after all. she said that she doesn't think I have her back, I'm selfish, I'm a jerk, we are not a team, she feels like I see her as beneath me, I'm not keeping her in the loop about decisions, I treat her like a child, we're not equals, she doesn't like how I've changed, etc. I hear this very frequently as well. Mostly, it's from excessive wrist flexion. I'd get it on curls, one hand KB exercises (snatch especially), pull ups for higher reps, and rows. This is great insight. Treat deadlifting like practice rather than a "work-out". Do them all as singles - re-grip and "squeeze your chest up" on every rep. This is essential to learning your proper form. Reset completely between each rep.

I agree with Tony Gentilcore on the curls. Fellas, here’s a little word of advice. If you can’t perform at least five pull-ups with your own body weight, you DO NOT need to be doing an entire training session of bicep curls. The reason you don’t have big arms is because you’re weaker than a baby’s fart, not because you’re not doing enough arm curls.

your value on the open market is very important for calibration of your wife. Even incidental dread just gets her super pissy and she takes it out on me. Not a hint of any mate guarding or anything. Get rid of social media. You have better things to do with your life. Second, the man you should compare yourself to is you. Are you better than you were yesterday? Are you making progress, no matter how slowly, towards your goals? That's all that matters. Edit to add: This comes with age and experience as well. Eventually, you'll realize that you don't have to prove anything to anyone. That realization brings peace to your mind.

It was my idea when planning my day in the morning. Some of the stops were mine, some hers, and some for the kids. Had she not come, I wouldn't have included her stops (I certainly can't be trusted to pick out the right flavor stinky candles for the bathroom), but I would definitely still try to consolidate trips. I didn't plan well enough anticipating how long it would take.

It’s more like most ab work outs target my back too much? That means you're not doing it correctly: too much weight, too many reps, bad form (even on a machine) Go slowly and make sure you keep your abs tight through the whole movement, don't release the tension between reps. As soon as you start to feel it in your back instead of your abs, you're done. Cranking out more reps after that just transfers the load to your back because your abs are done. This can end up screwing up your posture.

Compliment her outfit or something over her cuteness or eye color or whatever. The point is to compliment a choice she made about her appearance.

Less pain but still failed 1 rep consistently for the last two lifts. De-load coming up next session. I didn't feel my barbell rows were quite up to scratch as not always hitting chest so dropped 10Kg to focus on form. Excellent. As everyone will probably tell you it's much better to back off and keep your form dialed in than to let your ego get the best of you and keep ramping up until you hurt yourself. An injury is a MUCH bigger setback than a deload. Progress under the bar is a brisk walk, n…

Thanks for fleshing that out, it's helpful to me. In my head I was already thinking about what am I going to tell my SO about why I'm late home what excuse can I make. I do this all the time. Still. I've always made sure I'm ready to account for myself to her whenever I may be called out for something. You're right, it's exhausting. One thing I've been doing to ease myself into a better frame is to take my time going anywhere or doing anything. If I want to take the long way home from work and l…

Anyway she got uppity at some comment I made and brought up how I keeping having digs about her looking wiped out and I’m not helping etc, I kept frame and went broken record, this worked well as normally I would DEER Can you give me a little more detail on how this interaction played out? I really struggle with the DEER instinct.

This is some major shit. Yes it is. For this suicide point, you need to consult with a professional. Seems like my employer's EAP is a quick place to start. I have used such services in the past. If it's just emotional manipulation, like you are thinking (want to think), a professional will be able to spot that, but if it's not, then it's a better safe than sorry kind of situation. Definitely. These are very helpful points.

You know your wife better than we do, but from my armchair it looks like major disrespect and manipulation from her side. Take back what is yours, YOU are in control of the relationship. You are reading it right. Whew she fights when she thinks I'm trying to show some power over "us."

OYS #4 Fitness: 5’ 6”, 181 lbs. (still) BF is still in the mid-20s, never actually measured it Squat – 360, Deadlift – 360, Bench Press – 230, Overhead Press – 147.5 (numbers will be revised at the end of this 5/3/1 cycle) I'm definitely getting into the extra volume of the BBB template on 5/3/1. It feels good to be working several sets of 10 squats, for example, after years of low volume. Goals with this are getting down to 160-165 body weight while keeping my squat/bench/dead going up to 400/2…

Not that it was bad, but the feeling I had that was new to me then, is that sex only happens when she is already in the mood for it, i.e. she's horny, but seeing that I am in the mood or getting my sexual attention (kino, initiating etc) doesn't make her aroused. I've been there for 20 years.

Another Eagle Scout here. (1995) My dad and all of my uncles are Eagles too. This news has really bummed me out. I had a great experience in scouting and would not be the man I am today without it. Boys spending time with successful men is important. The experience is not at all the same with females around. This change is the end of scouting as far as I can tell.

>If you don't naturally have that "kind of a dick" streak then the AA might feel pretty forced. "Kind of a dick" is definitely my default state. AA comes naturally to me, most of the time, with most people. >What do think would have been different if you'd just said "my melatonin, I'm getting to sleep." ? We would have cut straight to her giving me the usual crap about sleep schedules. In all honesty, I was intending to stay up with her so we could spend some time together after the kids were in…

Recently moved to 5/3/1. Loving it so far. Hell yes. 5/3/1 is awesome. But, I got called out on using calculated 1RM last week. It's a good point: if you've never lifted it, it's not your max.

Are you sure what you're responding to are actually shit tests? No, I'm not sure at all. In this particular situation, I was leaning over in bed to grab a melatonin from my nightstand. We have an ongoing "issue" in our life where she thinks that the nights she wants to stay up are the nights I want to get to sleep early and vice versa. She's actually accused me of doing it on purpose to avoid spending time with her. (I wasn't, never have). So, I'm leaning over away from her and she says, "What a…

It seems like a lot of your post is in response to her actions/reactions/feelings. It sounds like she has controlled the dynamic in the household/relationship. So don't be surprised when she fights back against A&A or AM. She also sounds like she is extremely intelligent with emotion and language. You're outgunned there hommes (for now). All of that is definitely true. I've let her set the tone for our lives forever. And she is definitely smart. Instead, understand that she has no power over you…

OYS #3 Fitness: 5’ 6”, 181 lbs. BF is still in the mid-20s, based on nothing other than looking at myself and guessing Squat – 360, Deadlift – 360, Bench Press – 230, Overhead Press – 147.5 (revised per last week’s OYS comments) Starting the second week of this 5/3/1 cycle with BBB programming, 4 days per week. It’s hard for me to get back into so much volume after a couple of years of low volume on the main lifts. I’ll get into better this week. 4 days of lifting means only 1 day of running, bu…

On second thought, that one needs to go in the sidebar. It's short, but Rollins packs a lot of wisdom into those few words.

I appreciate that. But, as I've read in the past, a difference between men and women in the gym is that women tend to compare themselves to other women whereas men compare themselves to their past selves. So, how do I compare? At age 35 I was a lot leaner, about 20 pounds lighter than I am now. But, I wasn't nearly as strong. My deadlift was 100 pounds less than it is now. Feb2014

i assumed they were his 1RM since he's running 5/3/1. Yes, those numbers are calculated 1RM based on the weight and reps I hit at the end of my last 5/3/1 cycle. For instance, I pulled 360 for a double on the deadlift. So 360 for 2 reps works out to a 375 1RM. I have yet to actually lift 375. Here's my weekly progress pic from 4/24. I am just taking these for myself, but I'll let you have just this one: 4/24/18

3 nights in a row is a HUGE improvement from 3 times a year. How many years has that been going on? About three years. I wouldn't "not accept bad sex." If you've only gotten it three times in the recent past, that may backfire on you. Yeah, it probably would. Last night I gave a little caveman effort and she fucking loved it. So that's a win-win. but that time is not when your physique is a "garbage bag full of oatmeal." Yeah, after I lean out to "lifts but definitely likes ice cream" physique I…

To test this, just do an Amazon search for something to which you think she'd object (sex toys, lingerie, Harley Davidson, whatever her hot button is) and then see how long before she calls you out on it Nah, it's happened before. I signed out of her account and went back to my own.

OYS #2 I created this new account just for my MRP related redditing. I realized that I was really sucking at OPSEC and need to make sure and keep this stuff private. This is my second OYS, my first was last week. My post (now deleted) mentioned that 4/17 was my 40th birthday, if anyone remembers that. It was also mostly victim-puke and not shit-owning. Now I have a better idea of what this thread is for every week. ANYWAY, on to the show. Fitness: Still 5’ 6” tall, have dropped 3 pounds over the…
