I'm raising a son who just turned three and while I'm not a SAHM I'm with him a lot of the time, more than my husband (I have more holidays than him since I'm a teacher so our boy stays with me during those). Don't worry, his boy interests will naturally pop up without you having to do anything! My boy and his cousin both expressed interested in cars and vehicules really early without any prompting on our part and even though they had a wide variety of toys to pick from at their nanny's house (i…

I was once in your shoes - dumped at 31 by the boyfriend with whom I'd spent almost all my twenties (to make matters worse he cheated on me with a younger woman) and feeling like my life was over, like I'd never have kids or get married. Then I realized how much better I was without him, free to be my true and best self, free to meet a much worthier man. And I did! I met the love of my life when we were both 33, we moved in together six months later, I was pregnant at 35 and we married last year…

I'm thinking about the number of women who read romance where the male protagonist is older and/or more powerful, with money, status, etc... And then they say they're feminists and this is just fantasy and it has no grounding in reality whatsoever. Um, yeah it does. We're biologically programmed for that, to find a strong man who can take care of us and the children we might have. Sure there are exceptions, like some men who prefer older women, but I'd say a large majority of people follow this …

Love this post and saved it. Thanks so much for sharing. It makes a ton of sense and it's really inspiring!

Hi there, first of all congratulations on choosing this path and getting yourself out of a bad situation. It's so inspiring to see women posting about recognising they need a radical change and rolling up their sleeves to make it happen. Like you I've only gotten acquainted with the RP lifestyle pretty recently and I don't have anyone near me who have traditional values. It can be tough to navigate this alone, but I think you need to take it step by step. Losing weight and changing your look is …

That's good advice, I'll definitely look into it, thanks! (And yes I am Catholic :) )

I think the conflict you're describing here goes way beyond the SAHM vs. career woman debate. When you say you want to move to a farm, be self-sufficient and debt-free, not spend money on consumer goods and be much more careful about the media you consume, you're echoing what a lot of young people today aspire too. There's a real and valid criticism of consumer society and its ills that is gaining ground, and like every generation trying to make its own way, yours is clashing with the previous o…

I think the simple fact that you're asking this question and projecting yourself in those scenarios shows that you ARE ready. I think it's mostly nerves holding you back and the fear of not being enough for the type of man you want. But you're in a positive dynamic by trying to lose weight and improve yourself, so there's no way that could go wrong. A man who has strong values will see and appreciate that, and IMO if you're on a journey to be more feminine, inside and out, that will make you sta…

Thanks for your comment. It really is a question of inspiration, yes. I have no expectations that my life (or anyone's life for that matter) can be perfect, but I do want to better myself and make more effort, particularly in making my home and myself beautiful.

That's very sound advice and I do wish I had more mom friends I could really talk to about this. My friends who have kids have zero interest in becoming more feminine or trying to follow a traditional model, and our parish is small, with mostly old people. Talking to my own mom is a bit complicated right now as she's caring for my ailing grandmother, and my sister is far away. Maybe next year when my son goes to school I'll meet other parents? But so far I've been feeling very isolated.

Thanks for your comment, that's a very healthy approach. I do see them as no less idealized than what I used to see in women's magazines when I was younger, only this allows to pick the content I want (a lot of them are faith-driven, which is something important to me that I can't necessarily find in magazines).

Totally agree with you on the children. I should have stated in my post that when I said "carefully selected", I only follow mothers who show very few (or better, no) pictures of their children and instead focus on their homes, gardens, outfits, etc. I'm fine with a family picture once in awhile on the feed but anything else makes me very uncomfortable.

Seconding "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". That book is GOLDEN. I find myself rereading it on occasion. It resonated so much with me and explained so much, plus it's easy to read and filled with practical examples. A must-have!

First of all congrats, it must have been a really thrilling moment for you! And thanks so much for sharing this success story with us. Stay in your feminine lane and allow him to thrive and grow into his role as a man. You will feel the urge to take charge and do things for him or nag and complain, but don’t. Just be patient, and if he is a good man he will figure out what to do. This is really inspiring for me. I've started this journey to be more feminine and it's hard to be patient and put my…

First of all, it's great that you have this mindset to start with, so many women never get there! So that's something that can boost your confidence from the start: you *want* to be a good wife for your husband and you recognize all the things he's doing for you as provider. I think that's half the job right there :) Secondly, I'm new on this sub and I asked for similar advice not long ago, and got lots of great replies, including recs for femininity coaches on YouTube. I haven't had time to loo…

Same as you, I'm trying to raise our son to fully embrace what it means to be a man and get shit done, not only by following his father's example but by seeing me in a traditionally feminine role at home. We're planning to move to the countryside next year to have our son know how to use tools, how to fix and grow things, how to stay active and strong by being outdoors. As I see it, it's the best gift we can give him for future happiness with a good woman.

Something struck me in what you wrote: The way I see it, I need to start getting cozy with the idea of never having kids – the money just won’t come. No. You do not need to get cozy with the idea of never having kids if that is your calling. Please, do not sacrifice motherhood, not for anything, not for anyone, because this might turn out to be the biggest regret of your life. You are NOT being petty, or ridiculous, or ungrateful to your husband for having these feelings, and honestly him not un…

Totally agree on looking outside of cities. Every guy I know who settled down, got married and had kids between 25 and 35 (and whose marriage is still going strong) are from smaller towns or the countryside (this includes my husband). They just weren't interested in playing games or sleeping around, and when they found the right girl, they committed. Big city guys (in my experience) are indeed wimpy, unreliable, addicted to hook-up culture, and they cover it up with a woke discourse on deconstru…

I've had the same fears nearing 40 but since I understood the value of true femininity a few months ago, it has helped me considerably. First of all, I realized that age also brings assets looks wise, paradoxically. When I started paying attention to women in the street, I saw that no matter their age, some women simply glow with femininity while others don't. It's immediately obvious that they take care of their appearance and their body, that they're polished and put together, that they dress …

I'm a teacher in a small private school and I feel it's a great career choice. It gives me quite a bit of time to spend at home with my husband and my son. Plus I try to act as a role-model for the kids I teach (they're preteens so they definitely need it, given the hellscape that is social media).

I think it' s a wonderful thing that you're choosing this path for yourself. I wish I had done the same at your age instead of wasting them on unworthy guys and trying to mold myself to society's expectations (which only results in men taking advantage of you and discarding you because you're "sexually liberated"). As for friends, keep in mind that however painful it is now, you're still young enough to make other friends down the road. Trust me when I say that when you have radically different …

Love how you phrased this. Learning to decorate and getting into crafts and needlework is great advice and there are so many options, too. I love to crossstitch, it's both relaxing and it makes for really pretty frames to have around the home. I also plan on learning patchwork and quilting when I have more time and my son is a bit older.

I wish I could upvote this more than once. Housework and childcare are absolutely not on the same level. It's not emotionally draining for me to clean dishes or do laundry, but managing temper tantrums and constants demands to play or read absolutely is. A husband and father needs to step up as much as possible when he's home for the good of his wife AND the child. It's so important for bonding, and so important to give your child a positive, strong male role model.

I'm on the exact same journey as you right now! Just wanted to give you my support, it's great if we can help each other out! A few week ago I took a long, hard look at my wardrobe. I dumped (literally) the used leggings and baggy tee-shirts I'd worn for months on end after my baby was born. I packed up everything I was no longer wearing (even stuff that "I might wear on a super specific occasion", save for one or two fancy dresses to wear at weddings), and clothes that were either unflattering …

Oh wow, thanks so much, this is great advice! Your YT channel looks amazing!! I see you have a video about feminine and masculine energy, that's a topic I'm trying to know more about. I really feel like society is doing all it can to smother these two energies and pretend they don't exist, and it's quite liberating to see people talking about it.

Sorry for replying so late but I didn't see that my post had been approved! It's still a little fuzzy in my mind and I absolutely get what you're saying. I'm still at the stage where I'm trying to make sense of things but it would be more helpful to focus on emphasizing the traits my husband appreciates.
