Which one? I think you mean Dahvie Vanity from Blood on the Dance Floor but it was a big problem on the emo, scene, and pop-punk scenes

I could be wrong but I think this just means a lab-grown diamond. So still a diamond, just not a natural one. He might have not known the difference, so it’s worth asking him something to try and work out why he went for that one

I just don’t get it tbh. I’m bi but I think the whole experience of a strip club would just be deeply uncomfortable

I think age matters. There are some people from posts I’ve seen on reddit who get together at 14 and 5 years later are still together at 19. I’m only just 20; would I want to get married? Hell no. I’ve got a life I want to lead lol

Oh well that makes me feel a bit better actually

Something I’ve picked up and you think would be obvious is, if a man ever says “oh my crazy ex accused me of being abusive but they’re just lying” (or in my sister’s case “babe I promise that conviction for assault that I got from throwing something at my ex girlfriend is just a lie she told to get back at me”), then run. Trust women, trust his exes when they say things like that. Most of the time, they’re right and why would you want to risk it?

They have this in some places in the UK. You go to the bar and ask for Angela, they should take you through to the back. Also though, who takes their date to hooters?

Exactly, and that person is there for you somewhere. You’ve just gotta keep your standards high until they come along

Don’t we all. That’s why it’s better to be alone than with someone who doesn’t truly value you

So they have someone there for sex and emotional labour whilst they’re waiting, I guess. You “fill the role” temporarily

Idk if this makes sense, but men do act differently with certain women that they’re really into. They string along people they’re not into while they wait for the “one for them”. Does that mean there’s a problem with you? Nope. Move on, he doesn’t deserve you. Someone else will appreciate you, don’t postpone finding them

If you want to sound snazzy, call it a flute rather than just a glass. Looks nothing like a flute but there ya go

It just seems like he’s showing off about this, humiliating her on the internet. He wants people to say that he’s a good guy and she’s a “horrible disgusting slut” (implying that he’s better than her anyway to assuage his ego), on top of trying to ruin her current relationship (although sounds like she’s better off without the boyfriend)

I could be wrong but I’m guessing she turned him down at some point previously and he is bitter

It’s not so much that I’m not happy single, it’s just that at the moment all of my friends are away, I quit my job before leaving for uni and now I don’t have that. It’s more the lack of social circle at the moment that I’m unhappy with rather than being romantically single, if that makes sense? I’m just getting back on my feet, I guess. When I feel less out of sorts with myself and know where I’m ending up next year and get a new job sorted out I’d feel less isolated if I dumped him. I do know …

You can always go back after finishing your education! Or my friend is German, she’s doing her undergrad/bachelors in Düsseldorf and then is planning on doing a masters in The Hague. Also of course you miss him, he’s been a big part of tour life for three years. But with time you’ll move on and it’ll all feel better. You’ll see how your life has benefitted from him not being there, but it’s something you need hindsight for

“What, you think you’re better than us just because you’re tall? Should we just start giving medals to tall things?”

Honestly I just think the best thing you can do is teach them to value themselves and to have high self-worth. Sitting kids down and drilling things into them often just doesn’t work; teenagers live to rebel. Just be supportive and try to lift them up so they don’t feel like they have to settle for something when they’re worth more.

Holy shit, the second one. I think I’d have slapped him

Oof that’s depressing. Doesn’t it sorta go against FDS though? Kinda saying that there’s no point trying to be high value bc he’ll leave you for a pick-me who’ll change herself for him when he gets the chance?

I’m not so sure about this. A lot of men view their daughters as their property, rather than it helping them understand the female experience

Alan Turing who? I don’t know her

I should’ve been clearer; I mean in regards specifically to this example. Legally you can consent to be assaulted in some contexts, and this one you can. Again, not saying that’s a good thing and I’m not saying the law is right

In law, you kinda can as long in some instances. Search R v Wilson (1996). Not saying it’s right but it’s there. This is institutional unfortunately

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
