Has a female character fighting alongside and being a crucial team member to: a genetically engineered super soldier, an irradiated rage beast, a guy with a combat suit generations ahead of anything that actually exists, and a literal god "damsel in distress" k

I'll admit I'm a liberal person and that this can happen, but I also think that the type of person (liberal or conservative) who is going to judge an article based on the site it was posted to and not its content probably isn't going to be swayed by a comment like this.

I've never understand how people can believe in the wage gap and claim to be logical. Belief in the wage gap assumes that 1. In the year 2014, after first and second wave feminism (disregarding the beginnings of radfem within the second wave) succeeded (and rightfully so) in fighting for women's equality, there is still some sort of secret plot to pay women less because they are women or that we are all still subconsciously sexist (just as ridiculous, but I'm glad proponents know my brain better…

While I acknowledge differences between the two genders, I don't think either patriarchy or matriarchy is preferable. Ideally I think we'd have a system where people are treated as equals, with the same rights and responsibilities and let people decide for themselves how they want their own family dynamics to play out.

It's clear that you harbor a lot of resentment due to what I can only assume is past experience, but the fact that you've had negative experiences that have led you to make statements that ARE misogynistic like "Women cannot be trusted with legal power" and "I pity men who do not have absolute control over their own destiny, lives, home, property, finances and women" doesn't mean women as a group are like that, it means that the ones you have interacted with are. The fact that the women you've c…

Let me get this straight, you actually just said that you pity men who do not have absolute control over their own women? You go on to say "Women cannot be trusted with legal power" GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WITH THAT SHIT. I hate hearing people call boohoo misogyny as much as anyone on here, but that is straight up misogyny no if's and's or but's about it. You are a bitter person and you're attitude is the exact same sort as that of radical feminists who make generalizations about all men being …

It'd be interesting to see how this proportion would change if the poll were among the general population, and not a population of people who are already in the military.

I hope to god no one from outside this subreddit comes in here and sees this type of comment. I don't care if you are the breadwinner, your word still shouldn't be law for your families finances, that's not what a marriage is about. Having a situation where one person rules by decree in any area of a marriage is unhealthy. Marriage is about equal partnership which means making decisions together. If your wife wants to defer to you because she trusts you to act in both of your best interests that…

I can't help but think that the entire HeforShe campaign is a desperate attempt to bolster dwindling male support for feminism in the face of feminist panic over the men's rights movement because for some reason many feminists seem to view issues faced by the two genders as a zero sum game.

I can't claim to be furious or even really angry at my parents for having me circumcised, but that's not what this is about. And I don't think anyone is trying to make you define yourself as a depressed mutilated freak. This is about the fact that for some reason boys don't get a choice. Like I said, not even really mad at my parents, and I'm not even really upset that it happened because I have no standard for comparison, this is just how I've always been. What I'm upset by is the fact that it …

But not as responsible as a man who drives drunk. To the tune of about a 40% less harsh legal penalty.

You're right, keeping a criminal from leaving the scene of a crime after she is out of bullets and isn't targeting the group that this woman belonged to, is not only heroic, but also completely on par with taking a bullet and dying. /S Damn. There I go again. Sorry. Seriously though, what she did wasn't heroic, it was great that she did but if you are capable of stopping a murderer without receiving personal injury it is just the right thing to do. Good on her for doing it, but it doesn't make h…

I don't intend to offend any one. I am merely pointing out a double standard. Men are disposable and are raised thinking this. Women have an innate value due to their role in reproduction. Thus, you get things like guys taking bullets and dying for their girlfriend's when the reverse is significantly less common. I'm not saying that a man can not take a bullet for a woman he loves or that a woman can not take a bullet for a man she loves, I am merely saying that it is more common for a man to do…

Let's remember all those brave women who threw themselves in front of their boyfriends/husbands due to love, not due to the enforced expectation and female disposability... oh wait. /S

We have demonstrable evidence of specific situations in which Women receive preferential treatment over men. While feminists do not or they have much much less. Thus, they rely on hypothetical situations in which a generic woman or generic women may potentially be discriminated against.

People are people. "Gay marriage" should just be "marriage" as far as I'm concerned.

This whole video is like a string of militant feminist, bordering on misandrist talking points. I mean my god, when the white knights are talking it actually seems like they are reading from a prompter.

Yeah but you will avoid 100% of the embarrassment and insecurity of missing a shot if you play defense. Continuing this metaphor, guys appreciate it when once in a while a girl will open them self up for a pass and then take the shot. It's all about teamwork.

While this certainly can happen, I think that you may underestimate the toll it can take on a guy to put himself out there and be turned down. Let alone do it multiple times. A lot of guys I know, myself included will ask the same questions you associated with women, such as wondering why they aren't good enough or what they did wrong. I can assure you that this can happen to guys when they are rejected, but we are expected to take it the way you described, a mild blow to the ego at most. If you…

While what she did was in no way acceptable, neither was what he did. Also, I think that with situations like this, we should avoid posting stuff like this to this sub. While it is certainly an issue, the fact that he was doing what he was would provide certain enemies of this sub within reddit ammunition to use against us because it could be viewed incorrectly by some as if we were supporting the suppression of female voting voice. While this is certainly not the case, that is how it could be s…

As clever as you thought that was, I have googled the issue and what comes up are news articles. I am not looking for news articles. I am looking for legitimate studies conducted in to the issue with some degree of validity and professionalism.

No, I do not. I intend to when I am older though and when I do, I do not intend to circumcise them. If they get older and it is still a practice that is done and they understand as fully as possible the consequences of their decision and they want to be circumcised than I will warn them it will be a big change but ultimately support their decision. Essentially, while I don't intend to circumcise my sons, I do intend to allow them to make that choice if it is what they want. I do not feel robbed …

Personally, I am neither happy nor unhappy with the decision. I have no alternative to compare it to, I have not experienced it. I can understand not wanting to have a big decision made like that for you, but I don't think that my parents or the doctors were trying to inconvenience me or spite me when they made the decision. I think that they made what they thought was the right decision and since I have nothing to compare it to, nothing to miss, than I don't really care. Basically, I think that…
