Are you interested in Buddhism ? Did it help you on answering some questions about your life, never really got that much into philosophy but I bet it'll be interesting to read. Not in Buddhism per se but I read a couple of books from people whose job was to interpret religious tales and symbols to extract value from them, like Joseph Campbell and the hero with a thousand faces and Jordan Peterson known for his lectures similar to Campbells, you can find many on youtube. Civilization didn't came …

Recently I've tried working through my goals and working regularly (Not one big push once in a while like I was used to doing) and i've met so much resistance to getting better just because of the way society tells us to live. Are you sure that resistance came from society? Because it's a perfectly natural from a biological sense behavior to have lots of those responses. Like fast food and sugar foods "exploit" our biological urge to consume certain things as if we won't have food tomorrow. Our …

Yep, TRP is concerned with training you how to kickbox but not concerned on when it's fine to beat someone up. It's providing the tools, which are working and am 100% glad they are!
/r/askTRP26/04/16 09:12 AM

TRP does not care what your moral compass points to. Well yeah, the body of knowledge shouldn't care. Same goes with conducting scientific research, in an ideal environment. Scientists should concern themselves with what is truth, regardless of whether it's acceptable or not. But the body of knowledge TRP being amoral doesn't mean that its visitors ought to be amoral, or does it?
/r/askTRP26/04/16 08:07 AM

Well yeah, but then I wouldn't feel morally responsible for that. It's like saying "your front door was open so it's ok to walk in. If it wasn't me it would eventually be someone else anyways". Am I not responsible for deciding to walk through your front door or not? My intention isn't to unslut her, but to act in accordance to my subjective morality and maintain abundance.

"Men are pigs who only think about sex and <insert sport of choice> whenever they're not working", is the go-to description women use to describe us. And they are right. Men thrive in competition and love watching competitive sports to experience the feeling viscerally. They also love fucking. Hamstering also is rationalization and not exclusive to women. The failure guy who can't get his shit straight will hamster that life is inherently meaningless to justify his jerking off to gonewild while …

FWIW the only psychologist/therapist I found who takes care of depressed people and is not placing ideology over the health of his patients is from the other side of the world. They're that rare to find.

You're a guy reading this stuff and thinking "how do they know this shit about my life? I've seen these things happen to and play out with other people...OMG! These things have happened to me too!" That was me roughly a year ago. The primary motivation to LEARN something is because what you tried so far in life did not work as they told you it would. You work harder than everyone in your workplace but you don't get promoted, you start asking why, well welcome to office politics and power plays. …

There's zero reason to be dishonest about it. If you're looking for something serious you'll bring it up gradually because you want to test the waters first before you say "this might take us somewhere more". If you're not looking for something serious and they don't get it from your mannerisms and behaviours say it outright. "I don't feel like I can have a steady relationship right now". By saying "right now" you're also keeping the door slightly open for her. It's what women do to their orbite…

It may not be what you want to hear, because frankly I could go on about what motivates me and you won't connect. So what I'll do is link you 2 lectures that helped me tremendously with finding my own meaning in my life. And that's coming from me, who found solace in hedonism to avoid taking responsibility and do what's good for himself in the long term. The first is this and the second is this. They're in total roughly 2 hours long.

Depends on why you did it. If you do it because you don't like something that she does or doesn't then first let her know about it, it's some sort of a warning shot "I won't be tolerating X/I'm not pleased with X". If she's an outright bitch you might as well go full abundance and invest your time and dick to girls that worth it.

The fact that red pill's content is amoral doesn't imply to the slightest that the individual visitor should also be amoral. It also doesn't mean that your actions as a person do not affect the people around you, or even those that aren't around you (like in the case of an internet discussion). It's one thing to say "that's not my moral code" but the moment you do that, you're also projecting a moral statement to others. "I don't give a shit about what happens to others, as long as what I do ben…

To complement what /u/fnordnord said, grab a piece of paper and some pen and write out stuff you want to start doing, then reduce them to the point when you can act on them. Example 1: I want to play X song in guitar -> I need to learn guitar -> I need to buy a guitar -> I need to find where to buy a guitar -> reduced action to do asap: Look for guitars. Example 2: I want to improve my looks (too vague) -> I need to start lifting -> I need to find a gym -> I need to find clothes to wear at the g…

Because you're using it as a replacement of sexual activity, not something complementary. This is what NoFap does when I say they miss the forest from the trees. Everyone there used fapping and porn as a replacement for their shit sexual life or lack of. I was angry, but now I just feel like an idiot. Women don't want guy friends. They want chads and orbiters. You can and eventually will be replaced. Fixed that, because the term "boyfriend" can be interpreted in many ways if you're new here. They want someone who listens and feeds them attention, and a someone who feeds them with cum. And there's no need to be the same person.

And then you pretty much realize why the smarter people, back then, had to create religion in order to keep the less-smarter people (aka the hivemind, crowd, whatever you wanna call it) in check. I dropped religion, but not before I carefully examine multiple iterations and understand the fundamental concepts that communicated in a deeper way. Stuff that you just can't decide to drop overnight.

To expand on the matter, think of your previous "personalities" as habits, because that's how the brain is wired. The best thing you can do is overwrite them over time. You can not delete them. Same as quitting a habit like smoking, drinking. Eventually, after practicing/abstaining a lot from the beta mannerisms, you'll effectively act like your new self without much conscious effort.

It's in the sidebar, but it bears repeating: The only thing that matters to a woman is another woman. Corollary: Women are not like dogs like TRP says. They're like cats. They have no friends and they will only approach to purr as long as they have something they want from you.

30) Dont Fall in love with them. Love is a chemical reaction that makes animals want to breed, nothing else. Love isnt real. I agree with the sentiment but there's no thought or body function that isn't a product of "chemical reaction" that is configured by nature for a specific function. I used to think the vast majority of women didn't engage in casual sex and hookups, but then it hit me like a brick that it wasn't that they weren't fucking like rapid dogs in heat, it simply was that they weren't fucking me, because I wasn't fuckable to them. I used to think that men get hornier than women, and women can just "control it" and that it's "not as much as men do", so I had the impression they're not as interested in having sex as men.

Regarding vicarious living: It also happens with TV shows displaying fictional people and circumstances. It's kind of like we feel a "fuck yeah!" when Spider-Man beats Venom, but there are TV shows where the protagonist will go through tides of self-improvement, eat shit until he improves and achieve his goal. They're called shounen anime. And don't tell me about Rafael Nadal watching Dragon Ball because he didn't ended up being a rampant anime fan, he got inspired, he did it when he was a kid a…

Your friend Mark also explained the main cause of Oneitis. To imagine the best possible scenario, expect the best to happen but it's just "that one thing" that stands in front of it, and that's her saying "no" or whatever. I once accidentally think that I attracted a secretary in one of my previous jobs by ignoring her beauty and treating her like just another person. And I say "think" because she ended up jokingly slapping my butt and throw stuff like "dude, I gotta introduce you to a friend of mine" (she was engaged, which is why I didn't showed interest). One of my hookups pre-TRP was a girl that approached me at the beach (she even lied about her age later on because she thought if I knew she's underage I'd leave running) and we had 5.. In truth, I wasn't making a move to kiss her, let alone fuck her, because I was a huge pussy, but I didn't want to admit it so I told her that I "just didn't felt like it". Enter fifth coffee date…

I don't know what I am nor do I know what direction I want to take. The greatest difficulty I faced wasn't lifting or fucking, but actually make my inclinations meet with monetization. So here's the tl;dr version. Write down things you enjoy doing, then break them down asking yourself "why do I like this". Then, break the concepts further down, so far that you cannot go lower. Then find professions that can satisfy at least 1/3rd of those conditions. Research each one hard. Even try them out for…

I don't drink too much coffee. I drink half a cup to 3/4 of a cup of filtered coffee in the morning, alongside 1-2 cookies, and that's it. I don't touch coffee again until the next day, in any form. If a famous artist makes his fans wait 10 years for his next album, people will celebrate it as a masterwork before it is even released and talk more about this 'mysterious album' than about 80% of the albums that have already been released. The author is also RP in a sense that he teaches you stuff like "your anger stems from your thinking" and gives practical exercises to do daily for months. If you have money issues you can torrent it now and buy it later when you're able to. If y…

The amount of "idea people" who think someone who codes 40+ hours per week will give a fuck about their idea for the promise of income or a slice of the not yet founded company is astounding. The moment I told to a dentist that I'm a programmer he started pitching his idea while he was cleaning my teeth!

There's a mental trap right there for the beginners, because they hamster their way out of approaching girls until they have "lift enough", became "enough successful" and postpone dealing with the fact that they indeed fear rejection by using all these reasons as a shield. I'm criticizing the mental gymnastics a beginner can do, not the acts of improving oneself.

I'm currently reading through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy book and one of the cognitive distortions the author of the book gives is "labeling", which is basically attaching yourself to labels. This can backfire a lot! Small obvious example: "I failed at the interview" vs. "I knew I'll fail at the interview since I'm a failure". Less obvious example: "I made a mistake" vs. "Damn, I'm shit at this". For reference, the book I'm currently going though is called "Feeling Good" by David Burns. I've…

There are 2 ways to approach any activity in life: Be process oriented or be product oriented. Example: You might want a job, spent years studying, prepare before the interview, memorize everything, know that you did your best and be satisfied with your performance and still lose the job because the interviewer for one reason or another picked someone else either because he was better than you, because he was friend of a friend who knew someone in the company, because she was a woman and they ha…

All I say is that it doesn't happen out of merit of age, but all the activities he did, the experience from business to almost marriage affected his behavior and it shows as masculinity so much that it's an amazing contrast. You get to the "Super Saiyan 2" level. It's not "feel good bullshit" when people say that women age like cheese, men age like wine.

Look at how (ugly + jobless) men are treated in a nation; that will tell you how conditional the world's love is. The State only wants your labor, and it uses your desire for progeny and immortality and ecstasy with women (who want both labor and genes) in order to get it from you. Greek here, was jobless for years. Even in a country with 20%+ of unemployment, they really don't hold any bars back. You're treated as invisible, as someone who's "better off dead".

Receptivity - I have never met a single woman in my life over the age of 25 with a true hobby of their own. Girls don't love the way men do. Men love sacrificially. Cheesy as fuck romantic songs sing "I'd lie for you", "I'd eat a bullet for you" and shit like that. They don't sell because they're hyperboles, they sell because this is how men feel and they need to listen to songs that reflect their oneitis. On the other hand, women love men as in they're an item, like an iphone. And they always know that there is always another iphone to get in case their current one goes poof.

In hindsight, "fade don't burn" it's what the majority of my contacts did to me back in my BP days. And I was feeling ignored. Lack of abundance mentality, social ineptitude and all that. Try going out of your way to speak to people that you truly dislike (where it's not mutual), practice ways to connect on mutual interest terms. Once you're successful with that, it will be a lot easier to find a good distance for those you like too. Indeed, sound advice. I guess it will take a LOT of practice.

I don't think OP's arguing that all action is good if you're confident about it, but he's trying to motivate people to attempt instead of observe via a lengthy post. Also, I'll never stop being baffled with how people invoke great men of history and project behaviors to prove that said behaviors are universally superior to anything you can argue for or against it. If that's the case we should stop having discussions and straight up imitate ways of thinking outside of their context. "48 laws of p…

As a former "hardcore gamer" who also hang out with gamers I can tell you that my need to be in the MMORPG/FPS almost constantly hit my social skills and sex life hard. You think girls won't taste a similar impact? It's already happening with family bonding. Every day on the subway I meet at least one 30+ woman playing candy crush on her mobile. But that's cool, I had a game boy and used to play games to pass time inside a car, bus, train etc. But I would never ever dare to whip my game boy out to play when I was out with my parents or friends at a clearly social event. My theory is that you become a sigma only if you come from a former beta position. Natural alphas have learned to enjoy the social validation for their abilities since they were kids. On the other hand, a beta may not have been actually a social butterfly, which in turn led him to be more independent on what others think of his hobbies and likes (stuff like programming, anime, video games that you can do giving zero fucks on whether other people endorse them or not). As someone who tried NoFap many times I realized that my main problem was not that I am getting off but how I am getting aroused. Exactly! Another thing that I like in Stoicism is that it can be used as a philosophy of life, to filter out noise and time wasters. I guess I was a hedonist by default, always looking for the next distraction as if it's gonna make everything alright, and Marcus Aurelius in Meditations made me question that notion.

Another of my traits is that I look way younger than I am. People assume I'm a decade younger. And that's actually a plus for my career so far, except for the times they call me "boy".

"Just be yourself" works for them because they want the alpha who grew up to be comfortable with his masculinity naturally. Every beta who's trying to become an alpha is a faker and is met with "that's just not you".

I am rambling here now, but this is a big topic. I agree with you. I failed to communicate my thoughts properly. I thought the TRP-alpha is in line with his masculine nature, which means you can be cocky confident and stoic?

I'm European. I also hate the fact of discussing politics and religion because all you need to have is an opinion over something, in order to claim specialty. This essay by Paul Graham describes in its first paragraphs exactly how I feel about it. It's a straight up waste of time that gives me nothing but points of acceptance if I nod my head in agreement with other people's beliefs, otherwise I just raise hate. I'm currently going through Meditations after following the recommended books list from /u/illimitableman, I'm at book 7. My jaw dropped when I googled about emperors of Rome and saw Aurelius to be considered as one of the "five good emperors of Rome" by Niccolo Machiavelli, because they were a great example for every contemporary by the mere virtue of their way of life. Stoicism, from the little I understood so far, is meant to be used as a philosophy of life, a compass to guide you. And the st…

True, social proof is a pussy moisturizer and alphas are dripping of it. But one should be interested in getting it, and not just do it for the sake of attracting. It's like working not because you like work but because you like money, meaning that you often meet boring dips of "why am I doing this again? Oh". At the same time, they need to be aware of that. Meaning that, while most of my life I gave zero fucks about social proof, I should be ready to accept the impact of my decision in my sexua…

Thanks dude! That was very helpful to understand it. From what I take it's not even that simple, meaning that there are sigmas who are vaguely interested in their social standing in specific groups (like workplace, friends etc) but in general they don't give a fuck about getting social proof for their actions from distand third parties.

The alpha is attached to his status, how people view him, all that BS, etc. So alphas are more concerned with what others think of them? Somehow I have trouble believing that.

Found this post from searching. I posted a question about being stoic in asktrp a few minutes ago but perhaps you can answer me. Hedonism, a defining trait of the me generation, is the constant search for self-indulgence. Hedonism thrives on instant gratification and makes one dependent on the false idea that other things and other people can and should make them happy. Hedonism is being a spoiled child; hedonism is looking to lose weight without the effort; hedonism is wanting girls to fuck you…

I've met chumps like the ones you're describing too often online (back when I was also moody/beta/depressed). My attempts to give them good advice (and that was pre-TRP) like "workout" and "force yourself to go outside" were futile, since they all ended up playing video games and feel sorry for each other. I was one of them before I came here, but I realized that I cannot really save anyone else but myself. Either they'll look at me a year from now and go "I want to have what ShounenEgo's having…

Just to expand on the above - Gamification really is the trick to exploiting your own dopamine. Take a look at how the most addictive computer games structure their constant stream of reward - this is a large part of what makes them fun, and compartmentalizing tasks/giving yourself plenty of tiny 'goals' to maximise the perception of 'wins' allows you to apply the same effect to yourself at will. Question: Wouldn't removing gamification at a later time make the activities we learned to gamify bo…

Alright, I checked the video. Really great material. Your astute remark about enjoying something while it's easy and dropping it while it's not may be correct in more cases than one. And I probably hamster it around by saying "this is boring now". The rushes I get from completing tasks diminish because I have to put more effort after a certain stage - in a perverted "candy crush" kind of system where it blocks your progress to keep you hooked, but to me it never worked, I just dropped the game.

Your answer is... thought-provoking to say the least. It's probably what you're saying, but I'll reword it (while I'm not sure if I'll manage to do it right). A job opening has a minimum requirement to get it, and many people can satisfy said requirements. I'd argue that guys can be gifted with looks but the confidence and social skills are trained roughly from their environment. For the rest of people who were never attractive or popular at school there's deliberate practice to start, whereas the good looking guy will use practice to improve.

You want to know the twist? Most people in hindsight could have done better. The one who failed the important interview could have been more prepared. The one who didn't approached could have stop giving a damn about his inner voice and go say "hi" to that hot girl on the other side of the restaurant/train/whatever. Go into a public place where you can find people walking around, such as a university campus or downtown sidewalk. You are going to follow these three simple steps: Walk, hold eye contact, smile.
