Yah that is what I kept trying to weigh, was how the current offer was compared to the possible outcome at trial. How could she screw it up though? It isn't turned in yet, but the deal is signed and cannot be changed..🤔

Thanks for the reply! Wouldn't she have to file a motion to have it increased and it would need to be reviewed by the court, same as if I were to try and get it reduced?

Yah going backwards on my overnights does sting. But it is only 2 days per month, I know other dads who have them for even less. But yah, my GF hasn't met my kids yet, and likely won't for another year-ish. So hopefully I'll get some help eventually and having the house will help too, and them getting a bit older like you said.

Thanks for the reply, but Washington State is pretty tough to get 50/50 (that has been my experience and the experience of others that I know of). Does your experience tell you otherwise? Just curious. Once my youngest is in Kindergarten, I'll be fully settled with a house, yard etc and will push for more than just the additional 2 overnights per month that I lost...50/50 eventually is the goal.

Is the forum on men's divorce permanently down? The link won't work and the site looks completely different...

Fixed it. My bad for any confusion.

"The STBX knows that I won't move out until a parenting plan is approved by a judge so I'm sure this request is coming from her and her attorney". Seems pretty straightforward bro.

Great to hear man thanks. Yah things are still really rough at the moment. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...just a long tunnel lol

UPDATE Am almost 2 weeks in to at home separation. All advice given on this thread has been accurate so far. It is pretty terrible. But trying my best to tough it out for as long as I can. Question...when in this process did you guys file? I am about to file (sent back the docs today and lawyer will be filing today or tomorrow). Did your exes react differently upon filing? Did things go from bad to worse after that? What I'm doing in terms of her being served is to have my lawyer email her with …

Her tubes are tied (happened when our youngest son was born) so more kids ain't the reason but the logic makes sense for sure

Thanks for the replies guys. So let's say she does leave with the kids. Do I just stay here and do my own thing? I get how bad it will look in the eyes of lawyers/the courts is she does take the kids from me, but what do I physically do in the meantime? Report her to the police? Cuz even if she does leave, I still can't leave correct? Thanks again for the help here!

Thanks man. Oh I did already. Paid retainer yesterday and we've chatted yesterday and today. Recorder has been running and journal being updated. We don't have a rental agreement in place but I still have renters/tenants rights. Washington state is very lenient in favor of renters. They can technically evict me but not without going thru the long and expensive legal process. Would likely take a few months. Confirmed all this with a deputy at our local police dept today.

Hey guys what other form or forms do I need to submit besides the divorce petition? Which temporary order forms? Anything else needed? Thanks again in advance

Thanks for the info and clarification guys. And yep same instance here...with children in Snohomish county. But that would likely be another reason to stay in the house...cuz once I'm out she would no incentive to get things settled and agreed to. She could just drag things out forever trying to bleed me dry financially.

Thanks man this is great to hear. Wanting to pay for daycare is something that neither one of us would want, so I'm praying that her mom would still be up for it on days when I have them and I can drop them off first thing in the morning.

Yep, staying for the kids is my sole reason. I'm sure it is very rare and that most guys just move out, prompting the police to make those statements about it being hard to believe.

Thanks for the reply. Yah, my STBX def won't be bailing on the kids, mentally or otherwise. She is a fantastic mom, I can't take that away from her. But yah I can't see a situation where she would take the kids and leave since her parents own the house and live right next door. There is a downstairs area that I use as my office as I work from home 3x a week, which I could fashion into a bedroom with an air mattress easily enough. There is a full bathroom downstairs and even a little living room …

NO. No rental contract at all is in place. Should have mentioned that in the original post. We just write them a check every month. At first I thought this would be a bad thing, but I spoke with an eviction services place and they said that I can't really be "evicted" because I'm not even a tenant legally since no contract is in place. I was told they could take me to court and eventually have me kicked out, but it would be expensive and a lengthy process.

This is where it gets kinda tricky/confusing. Cuz as of now, we don't pay any daycare. As we live right next door to her parents, her mom watches the kids 3 days a week (her mom does not have a full time gig, just does the books for her husbands painting business, so is super flexible with her time). So this will be a big negotiating point...when I file, will she continue to watch the kids for free on days where I have them? I doubt it. But then adding in day care costs. Is that something that w…

Thanks again for the help man it is super helpful. But with regards to the 401k, I've had it open since 2003. It is not huge, but not small either (around $595k as of the end of last week). And it was up to around $300k-ish when we got married, so I would def try to keep the pre-marriage balance, and give her half of whatever it accrued by between marriage and now. I'm sure she will fight for the $1200ish CS and also much less than 50/50 parenting time for me, in which case I'll be fighting to k…

Thanks for the reply man. We added her onto my accounts for checking, savings etc, but she added me on to her credit card. As mentioned I have my own separate stand alone checking account created and ready to go when the day comes. I'll be calling and removing my name from her credit card also. I also have my own cc in just my name that I'll be using in a pinch. Good call on having my paycheck direct deposit changed to my account. I'll be adding that to my list also. Yep, I've heard that as well…

Thanks for the reply. Yah the fact that she A) has a good job and B) makes about what I make I'm hoping will really help me out. So how will a mediator/judge look a this in determining equal pay...is it gross or take home? My wife is hourly and I am salaried. But if you were to break down my pay hourly, she actually makes more per hour, however she does not work a full 40 hours per week (in her line of work, dental, it is rare to work a full 40hours. Most work 3-4 days a week. Most weeks she wor…

Thanks for the reply. Yahh there is even a book (which appears to be quite popular on amazon) called the Divorced Women's Handbook. And am certain that it contains sections on phony DV claims, emotional/verbal abuse, etc. I will be purchasing a second DAR so that I am covered 100% of the time when the battery needs charging on my first one. Agree with you on heirlooms too...tho I have no family in the area. I'll be making a trip to a friend's house this week with a box of items like that that I …

Thanks for the reply. Yah, I have a cc in my name only (have this whole time even when we first got married). Created my own solo checking account to move funds to when the day comes. Car insurance was mine originally and added her later, so I'll be removing her from that and removing her from my medical thru my work as well.

How did the initial conversation go? How did she respond to the idea of separating/divorcing with you staying home? Did she all the cops, threaten you etc? Thanks again for the reply man.

True though the consequences to staying seem much more short term compared to moving out and changing the status quo of how often you see your kids, no?

Thanks for the reply. Yah I plan on doing that right after I file and right before I tell her. If I move funds without telling her that will totally tip her off.

Oh there are kids. 2 of them aged 3 and 1. No her parents don't know. Neither does she. Im trying to plan ahead so there aren't any surprises. I know I'm pretty much in no man's land here. But I def think this is the right move vs buying a house with her just to turn around and sell it. That would be an extra added headache that I don't need.

I like this response a lot. I'm currently in the middle of this as well, dealing with a wife and our newborn son. She does the majority of the feeding, changing etc and also pumps milk every few hours or so. So I do cast a pretty wide net at the moment in terms of small tasks/requests that I'm ok with, however as you mentioned, she's aware that she needs to ask things as a request, not a command. She is a control freak by nature, so this took some time to sink in for her, but it did finally. The…

Does your AC joint issue prevent you from doing chest work that maximizes adduction? UCV raises, 3D cable crossovers, etc? I'd imagine this would make dumbbell pullovers challenging as well? Just curious. Shoulder issues SUCK and take forever to heal.

While yes, each person/body is different, and what works for one guy may not work for the next, I'd tend to agree with you here, shoulder/chest is an unusual routine. I split it by shoulders/traps one day, and then a chest/back day. Having experienced severe impingement/frozen shoulder issues several years ago, any time I train chest, I do back as well. Multiple therapists have recommended this as a good way to prevent imbalances, maintain good posture, etc. For me, no shoulder workout is comp…

Like this post a lot. I try leading by example - being flirty or sometimes dirty first, but she never responds the same way. She always says "Oh I just get too busy at work blah blah". So just don't even bother anymore.
