I'm really, really happy about my parents and feel very lucky. I didn't see how rare that was until I became an adult. I really thought my parents were the default lol. I'm pulling for your sister - I hope she can get out of that mindset! She'll be so much happier once she does. My best friend has been working to undo her pickme mindset (enforced by her own mother) for years and she's really getting somewhere with it.

My parents are like this and I feel so lucky. It really has set me up to expect a lot out of relationships with men and even years of social conditioning hasn't changed my mind. I went through a period thinking there was something wrong with me for having those expectations, but the expectations themselves never changed and now I feel completely secure in my standards.

This is very true. My BF is painfully shy and he still sucked it up and asked me out. If a guy is actually into you he will find the courage.

Banks is so good and has some legit FDS messages. See: Weaker Girl. I feel like her first album and EPs (which is sooooo good too) is her story as a pickmeisha, and her subsequent releases are coming into her own

You know I always thought Jason Sudeikis was punching waaayyyyy above his weight. And his cameo she gifted him in her otherwise excellent movie was the least funny or interesting part of the entire thing.

So true. I'm sorry your brother is like that. My brother is, at the bare minimum, not mean. But he is lazy, self-absorbed and a disorganized manchild. And really hasn't suffered any repercussions as my parents bail him out time and time again.

Your almost-40-year-old brother too? Meanwhile I've been financially independent since I graduated college even through a double lung transplant. Daughters really are just more capable.

Yeah I don't understand how he aged so badly lmao. Like Keanu Reeves also had boyish good looks and while he looks older now he still looks really nice for his age. Leonardo DiCaprio looks...rough.

I think that's the key, honestly. The inexperience. Plenty of women still look very young in their late 20s and 30s, so it's not just the youth (although that's an equally creepy element as well). They want the inexperience. They literally don't want a person they can't trick into thinking they're the shit. That's also why they shed them after a year or so - a lot of even really young women have caught on by then.

This is so accurate. I have Cystic Fibrosis and in the CF community, while many struggle opening to people to even be in relationships because of the illness, there are a lot of male CFers with extremely supportive female spouses or partners who have seen them through hell. I only know a handful of female CFers with male partners who have provided the same level of support.

Ugh, ugh, ugh. I feel bad for her, but she should have known better (and join this sub). I'm trying to figure out a way to get her onto this without insulting her lol!! I think the problem right now is she still has that liberal feminist, "sex positive" outlook where men and women are on 100% footing when it comes to casual sex when...they're really not. In an ideal world yes, but we don't live in that world. I also wish women would do more research!!! Like, I think she thought it was just like …

Ahh YES the old "let's go back to the hotel" line. And always trying to get you to pay for it too!! So goddamn disrespectful . My best friend who is tragically a classic pick me in so many ways ended up not only agreeing to this, but paying for HALF THE ROOM (the lobby clerk was apparently mortified on her behalf), giving him three hand jobs because he couldn't stay hard, and not getting off once. I so embarrassed and upset for her. Your experiences sound...pretty much exactly like mine. Men eve…

Absolutely! Especially because a lot of Korean men definitely have that attitude that foreign women are super easy and are extremely ok with disrespecting them. I've seen it happen to a bunch of my friends. Don't get me wrong, Korean women are treated badly too. But in my experience there is a fundamental lack of respect that many Korean guys have for foreign women. And I feel you - my guard is also still up despite years of good treatment!

This is so true. Like yeah they're better groomed and dressed and often more attractive/fit but it's because beauty standards are higher for everyone, men included. My boyfriend is genuinely a great guy, but it's definitely not because he's a ~Korean man~. I do think women need to be really careful about viewing Korean guys as their dream men. Not just because it's fetishy and weird, but because men suck everywhere 😂

A very notable "male feminist" worked at my university and was of one of the left-wing political clubs. He paid sooo much lip service to consent, male privilege, etc. He also had a long sexual relationship with (raped) a girl who was in her mid teens. He also harassed my then-20 twin sister (he was in his 30s at the time) and made her so uncomfortable that she quit that club, despite loving it. It all came crashing down when she publicly called him out on facebook a few years back. So many women…

I love how patriarchy has such a firm hold on us that we are judged just by existing as women with the bodies we have. Men can't or won't ever fucking understand what this is like.

Me too. My parents just enjoyed each other's company and being young and having fun for a long time until they felt like having kids, and it really reflected in how healthy, loving, validating, and appropriate-boundary-building my childhood was. Definitely set me up for success relationship-wise.

It's definitely not just desi guys. I've run into this a lot living in Korea and dating Korean guys. You have to be really careful, there's a strong assumption in many countries that western women are super easy and therefore get a free pass to be disrespected. It's disgusting!

My best friend frustrates the hell out of me because she knows exactly where her lame submissive kinks come from (extreme insecurity and anxiety and fear of rejection) but she refuses to change because she totally buys the "casual sex is empowering to women" thing. My twin sis is like this too. She looks like a blonde, curly-haired Aritzia model but she is whacky as hell, has a hilariously weird sense of humour and takes zero shit from men. It makes them go absolutely crazy because she couldn't care less about them and they're obsessed with her or hate her. There is no in between for LVMs in her case.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/05/20 07:39 PM

Their specific words differed, but the main point of all of their admonishments was that I was only dating an Asian guy because no white guy wanted me lol (because you know, Asian men are sooo unattractive/s). This was almost always after I rejected them (when they hit on me with my boyfriend there). There were also a few who called me a race traitor lmao it's like they don't even hide that they're white supremacists.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/05/20 10:45 PM
11

For real. I've had so many super ugly, mean and nasty white dudes get furious with me that I'm dating a lovely, handsome, attentive, well-dressed man because he's Korean and they think their whiteness should make up for their uncountable flaws. It's not only hilariously delusional, it's mega racist.

It's this idea that once you hit a certain age you hit a wall and stop being attractive, have way fewer prospective mates, and lose the "dating advantage" that men think we have. Whatever age "the wall" is really depends on which woman they're trying to attack. It can be 30, 25, 18...whatever. It is a theory made up to comfort gross men and often justify pedophilia or extreme predatory behaviour toward teenagers too.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/05/20 10:08 PM

You wouldn't believe how many old douchebags get enraged when they find out I date pretty men younger than me (I'm 28) and won't rush to jump on their nasty 40-year-old dick because I've hit the wall lmao.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/05/20 10:05 PM

Absolutely. You can be a predator at any age and be abused at any age. The one that makes my blood boil the most is men arguing that it isn't technically illegal. If your only defense of something is that it slides through a legal loophole, you are just admitting you're a bottom feeding freak.

I completely agree. It's up to the adult to set boundaries the kid doesn't know how to. When I was an angsty 14-year-old goth kid my dad stopped me from hanging out with more than one 18-19-year-old creepy guy, and my friend whose parents didn't do this? She ended up getting pregnant with his baby. At 14. I will never stop being grateful for how my parents loved and protected me tbh. I wish I could do the same for these little girls. I think there was a lot of careless parents in the case of many of Vanity's victims, but also parents who made the mistake of wanting to be friends with their kid instead of a parent, or be the "cool" parent. So they'd invite this celebrity over even though he was older because they were wanting to win brownie points with their kid and make them happy. It is...obviously a horrible strategy. I also see a lot more moms doing this, I think because dads often just neglect or don't pay attention rath…

It's so true. With female comedians in particular too, it's like it's never occurred to men that just because something isn't funny to them doesn't mean it isn't funny. Women are more likely to enjoy male comedians' humour because we are socialized to defer to men's opinions and experiences and empathize with men. Men don't have the same socialization so they don't even bother seeing anything from a woman's experience and thus never find female comedy funny. When really they're just fucking assh…

I've always wondered why I've been way more attracted to hot asian guys than white guys - like, since I was 13 - and it's definitely because most of the Asian guys I know or meet are into skincare, well groomed and well dressed. My current BF always looks so put together he puts me to shame sometimes and honestly that's the vibe I like in a relationship lol.

Ok I know that's a joke tweet, but it does remind me: I think I've told this story a few times before on this sub, but the number of dudes who tried to slide into my DMs when they found out I was on life support from total respiratory failure was insane. It was like they realized I would literally never be more vulnerable so they came out in droves. It was honestly hilariously pathetic and a lot of them gave me a lot of money. Thanks chaps!

I will never forget when my idiot of a brother tried to say that Blank Space is problematic because it "glamorizes obsessive personalities". I was the same way! I actually had a problem when I first started dating women where I had no idea if I was vibing with a girl or if women were just such higher quality people compared to men that even a kind of boring date seemed incredible comparatively. I'm a bit more level-headed now, but I still get such joy and excitement out of dating women the way I never did with men. I love women 🖤

Thank you for posting this, this whole saga was genuinely laugh out loud funny.

I had this one rich daddy's boy pursue me for months and his whole "draw" (lol) was "I have a nice car. I have expensive alcohol." That was it. No personality, no game to speak of - just robotically stating his assets basically. It was hilariously pathetic.

I was going to say that too. They're clearly joking around with him. It's pretty sad that he's such a creep who's used to dehumanizing women that he doesn't even understand their motivations if they aren't "let's fuck immediately:

It's so weird to me because I exclusively date shy, quiet, gentle men. But they have a backbone when it counts. There is a massive difference between that and...this

I don't automatically hate Christianity or Christian men; but I think your arguments about men "not being true Christians" if they treat women poorly pretty confusing because religious men specifically have rules built in that allow them to treat women poorly. It's in their doctrines! I'll end the convo here because as you said, this subreddit isn't about bashing religion/arguing religion. But I find your sentiments super confusing.

Ahhh yes, I forgot - anyone who is critical of organized religion is just doing it to be edgy. It's definitely not because there are inherent patriarchal rules built into most of them. As a former Mormon I would know absolutely nothing about this lmao

Girl, actual Christian men are just as bad as atheists. They just use their religion to justify their shittiness.

I'm a young millenial and I feel you - my heart hurts for gen zs, especially the younger ones. Hell, millenials got enough shit and we weren't even quite raised on social media to the same extent. I didn't have YouTube till I was in middle school and I think that made a huge difference!

I am now a thin healthy weight, but before my lung transplant I was severely underweight. My BMI was like 15. I have never gotten more unwanted attention than when I was that thin and clearly looked ill and vulnerable. So fucking creepy. One dude I was seeing (and promptly stopped) was so turned on by how skinny I was that he brought it up in casual conversation all the time. Men are gross!

It's this infamous reddit story from back in the day that this dude posted about how he broke both of his arms and was incapacitated and it all escalated into him having sex with his mom. It was such a disturbing, infamous story that for the longest time just mentioning "broken arms" was synonymous with that story. I kind of feel the same way about the silicone ring story!

I'm the same y'all. It doesn't mean I'm gonna throw myself at low value, deadbeat dudes who don't respect me and suck at sex. I just literally don't vibe with a lot of aspects of straight dating tbh

This is definitely one of the things I fundamentally disagree with on this subreddit, as I've had multiple successful FWB that were very satisfying for me.

I think it depends on the person. It doesn't matter for me and I'd prefer not a big dick, but I've got an uncomfortably tight vagina and don't get off on penetration so it makes sense.

It's so true. I was discussing this with my friend back when I still preferred splitting the cheque on dates and she was like "listen. Look at how you've pur yourself together. Not just your outfit, but your skincare, your makeup, your hair (I keep my long hair bleached white and at the time was going to a salon for it), your body grooming, your perfume." You pay for all of that, and that's what he's receiving on that date. Even a well-groomed guy puts in a fraction of that effort. He can pay fo…

Hmmm I've dated a lot of foreign (like, not Canadian or US) boys and a lot of locals and I'd say it's a mixed bag. Dating culture differs from place to place, but low value dudes universally don't put in effort even if they're hot and well dressed.

YES. I love how men pursuing academics aren't accused of being immature or afraid of the real world the way women are. And by love, I mean I hate it

Lol this one makes me think about how people say FDS is the "female equivalent of TheRedPill" because we advocate....making men pay for dates? And then advocate...abusing, raping and enslaving women. Yup super equivalent

Yeah, I didn't really hit puberty til grade 12 and I was never bullied by hot guys - they just ignored me/only talked to me to get to my hot friends.

I will always love the Pussycat Dolls for their songs like Beep and Wait A Minute because they honestly instilled some pretty good messages in me as a youngin about consent and how you don't owe men shit no matter what money they're spending on you or how sexy he finds you.

Honestly I'm gonna send this article to my best friend. She loves rough, extremely degrading sex and also dates strings of low value men. She insists there's nothing harmful about her sexuality and I strongly disagree, but I didn't really know how to explain it to her without making it sound like she's a bad person or that I think her sex life is morally wrong, you know?

One of my old coworkers was a freak like this. He thought his hatred of women was so sneaky and subtle when it was obvious af. Upper management thought he was a joke and he never got any career advancement. We unfortunately had to deal with him day-to-day but he had absolutely none of the influence he thought he did lol

Back during my hookup days a guy held me down and choked me without asking and another guy forced my head down on his dick after I told him to stop. Both times I got up and left immediately after, but it's so gross how many men see nothing wrong with this. Their porny sexual gratification is genuinely more important than the human being they're using as a fleshlight.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/02/20 08:41 PM

Yeah. It's a shame that the majority of men in our lives who aren't even that bad are still pretty low value because of how entitled they've been raised/socialized to think they deserve to be.

It genuinely makes me happy to know my dad would be fine without my mom. Just very sad. And vice versa. But then, he is a HVM and a model for what I expect in my relationships.

My mom keeps telling me stories of golfing friends of hers who are divorcing in their mid 50s and 60s and they are thriving while their exes are completely lost because they developed no interests or hobbies or friends and their wives took care of everything for them

One unifying thing from all of my friends who grew up with parents who fought and eventually divorced was that they wished they'd gotten divorced sooner. Kids can really tell when things aren't going well between parents, and it will be better in the long run for you and them to kick him to the curb.

My father is an HVM. He's not just really good to his kids; I know plenty of dudes who are good to their life and terrible to their wives. He has always been fully there as a parent 100%, and even though he is the primary breadwinner he has always treated finances as though they were equally owned because they're partners. He shows up for every crisis and supports my mom through every single shitty thing she's had to go through (and it's been a lot). He's as high value as they come and the main …

My guy tried to fly from Korea to Canada to taken care of me during my respiratory failure and subsequent double lung transplant this summer. I told him no for a few unrelated reasons, but he was literally almost done buying a ticket when I stopped him. Not even a thought about it, and he gave me a ton of money to support me through it because he couldn't be there physically caring for me. He wanted to take the strain off me and my family.

I would honestly love to nuke the myth that women aren't attractive after they sag a bit and develop wrinkles/fine lines or grey hair. It's something the patriarchy has instilled in us in the hope that really young women will still want to fuck old dudes. Hot women will still be hot when they're old; they'll just be old hot women (NOT that you're old obviously, but you're saying that you feel like you've hit your wall)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/02/20 07:49 PM

Exactly! And also like, woman are still attractive after they develop wrinkles and fine lines. Men have just conditioned us to think that only men are attractive with wrinkles and grey hair because "blah blah fine wine"

I am chronically ill and a patient and routinely get sexually harassed other male patients (always old enough to be my granddad and fucking busted) while in the hospital. It's revolting

I actually notice this a lot in the chronic illness community (I have Cystic Fibrosis). Many, many CF men with long-term partners and a lot of CF women (straight, obviously) struggling with an unempathetic male partner or finding one at all. Not surprising, but definitely confirmation of the shittery of men lmao
