... let's not take the sex lives of dolphins as a positive example eh

What's the rates of men murdered by women compared to women murdered by men? Don't act like the threat is symmetrical.

Men and women probably have equal opportunities for good sex.

Your inability to believe someone who has experienced something you haven't is gonna be a problem

Maybe you should try to believe what women say about our lived experience, instead.

You don't understand why women would be afraid to wind up with a guy who was misogynist but hiding it early on? Really?

No one is compelled to do business with someone they don't want to do business with. If people want to drop him, that's their right.

Neurodivergent women are at very high risk for assault and abuse, don't be so quick to assume they have it better.

Yes white people in white supremacy did a huge number on us that we are still seeing today but at the same time not every white person is evil and it would be disrespectful not only to the people who came before me but to the good people to just assume that Sure, but if a white person was "flirting" with KKK membership, you might just have a reason to think they're racist and avoid them. Same with women and RP men.
/r/ExRedPill06/08/22 10:43 PM
16

No. If you're "flirting" with the idea that I'm lesser/something to be manipulated, that's 100% a deal-breaker. If I stay with you despite that for fear you'll get worse ... that's a hostage situation, not a relationship. Patriarchy is a protection racket, part 123,456,789.

"Pure of heart, broad of chest, dumb of ass" is definitely a type a lot of women go for. Women who are of all levels of intellectual accomplishment themselves, btw. Even women who prefer more bookish types think guys who think they're smart when they aren't, or are really invested in being smart, are fucking exhausting.
/r/ExRedPill05/08/22 12:01 PM

Do you also understand what women are telling you in this thread about why we give wrong numbers? (Not just saying "yes," but explaining it in your own words?)
/r/ExRedPill05/08/22 01:03 AM
11

Nope, that's terrifying. If she gave you a wrong number to get you to go away ... that means she's not interested, and for whatever reason does not feel comfortable expressing that directly. It is really that bad.
/r/ExRedPill04/08/22 07:23 PM

Yeah, what point is there to believing people when they tell you who they are? You should wait until they do damage to you, otherwise it's unfaaaaaaaaaiiiirr.

IDK, as a feminist I'm thrilled that RP knows to leave us the hell alone. We need to start getting word out to other women that that's how to get these assholes off our scent. Don't hit the bars without your RBG tank top!

I know you want to deal with your romantic problems, but you were an abused child. You have a shitload of issues from that and need to work some of them out first. You gotta start with your foundation, and that's it. The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk is a good book to start with. If you don't sort out some of the damage that was done to you, you won't make good choices about partners and relationships--or careers and bosses.

That's a good script. I like to hang out on some of the autism subreddits to "translate" and hear their perspective. I have ADHD, which has some symptoms in common, but not the difficulty with figurative language/social rules. (Granted, ADHDers can sometimes miss unspoken social cues because we're too busy having an argument in our heads with a fictional character or something.) I think of myself as very plain-spoken and blunt, but it's remarkable to realize how much non-literal language is just…

It sounds like the OP is also having a hard time decoding neurotypical language, which sounds like lying because it's not literal. ("Why did you say you were fine when I asked how you are? You're not fine, ergo you lied.") In your experience, is this a frequent issue between autistic and non-autistic people?

If a person or group violates rules, is abusive or rude ... and you draw attention to that behavior ... and they suffer consequences for that behavior ... it's their own damn fault. They did it to themselves. ALWAYS.

Being depressed is not the same thing as feeling sorry for yourself. Neither is having a rotten day, or experiencing trauma, or or having chronic illness, or being angry about the injustice of the world. Feeling sorry for yourself means refusing to see yourself as anything other than a victim, and insisting that the world cater to that perception. A person who feels sorry for themselves won't ever bother expending energy or compassion on someone else. I mean you can go all "Merriam Webster's def…

If you're a sex object, they don't want you. They want to use your body to masturbate with. It's not the same thing as being desired. As someone wanting to have sex with you the way you play tennis with a person, not someone wanting to have sex with you like you play tennis with a racket.

They can deradicalize themselves if they want. No one else can do it for them. Replacement theory--ngl, if one of my friends was dating someone who spouted that, the friendship would be over. I'm Jewish.

Definitely kinder than thinking there's a learning curve to recognizing red flags, or that some people are raised in abusive or dysfunctional families and don't know what love looks like, or that abusers don't reveal their true selves until they've already isolated their victim .... definitely kinder and more logical and data-based and, y'know, based than that. Incels and redpillers seem to believe that girls are born with an innate knowledge of who they're attracted to and fully developed social skills and intuition. That we don't have a learning process on all these things, the same as boys do.

I'd also say, it's not so much about hobbies as about the attitude. My husband and I don't have any of the same hobbies, but we like to talk to each other about them, because we both tend to be focused on noticing how we learn, how things get built and done in our hobby domains, that kind of thing. "Parallel play" isn't just for kids, either. He practices piano while I write fanfic. It's nice.

The best answer I've heard is that it's not even RP so much, but that men have very few other social-support groups. Women have closer friends and we expect/are allowed to open up more with casual acquaintances, ask and offer social support. Same way cults and terrorist organizations work ... find the lonely people, give them a community, then the ideology takes over. But at that point, leaving the belief system would mean leaving the only people who understand you, so ... Thing is, men gotta so…

My best friend is 54, just started dating seriously a year or so ago, and has met a bunch of great guys. She dated one seriously for a while and is now exclusive with a dude who sounds just great. And this is someone who's been single her whole life. Late 20s-30s dating can be stressful for women who want biological children. And probably by extension for straight guys dating them, who may feel pressured to commit or cut bait before they're ready. It gets a bit more relaxed later on.

It takes women a while to figure out what they want. Priorities change. The same is also true for men, so--gasp!--sometimes the "alpha fuck" and the "beta buck" is the SAME GUY. It's just that in their early 20s, the couple partied a lot, and now neither of them do. Massive sinister strategy? No. Are men and women attracted to the same things at 30 that they are at 20? When women's only source of livelihood and social status is marriage, "marrying up" in terms of social class is logical. If we can earn our own bread, it's one option among many--for men and women both. (Why is it never "hypergamy" when someone marries a person of a higher social class, but the same sex?) The manosphere has redefined "hypergamy" to mean a man who is "better" than a woman across any dimension. Richer? Hypergamy! Taller? Hypergamy! Longer criminal record? Hypergamy!

However, given today’s social dynamics and the fact that sex is in fact associated with one’s reputation, I feel extremely uncomfortable at women promoting sleeping around as a sense of empowerment and equality. I hope my daughter would have the kind of assertiveness and comfort in her own skin that would repel RP boys to begin with. If she had difficulty with self-expression or boundaries, I'd be working on that with her LONG before dating age.

Honey, it's not really a thing. Normal men do NOT think that way. Normal men want women who are attractive, fun to be with, and supportive. Only men who are wrapped up in ideology are fixated on age like that. My best friend from high school started dating again after a long period of having to deal with family stuff & having no time. She's currently seeing three guys casually--fun, smart, decent men. She and I are both 53. My mom had the love affair of her life a few years after my dad died, wh…

I want a guy (and I got one!) who can cope with failure and loss, because these things are inevitable. No one is king of the hill forever. Life is capricious and unfair and bodies and institutions betray us all the time. No-win situations exist. Americans (and American men, in particular), can have a hard time accepting this because US culture preaches individualism and "attitude is everything" so strenuously.

And you're also still hoping that fear and insecurity will drive her back to you. The "high quality" of your person…

He did know it would upset you. He wanted to make you uncomfortable and make you "get over it" on his timetable. It was a boundary-pushing moment. If you'd allowed him to insult you with that video and swallowed your pain about it, he'd have pushed further. And then further. Until you had no self left at all. It's what abusers do.

Why is "protection" so important? And why is protection against violence the only kind that counts? My husband and I have been protecting the hell out of each other for the past year by staying in lockdown, masking, and washing our hands. I bought him extra identity-theft insurance, because my workplace provides that as a benefit and he's an entrepreneur who could use it. He updates my computer while I sleep and gets rid of viruses. We protect each other.

I didn't mean to come across as condescending. I get that some people feel a calling to reach across boundaries and try to help. I've got to push back on defining this as a mere difference of opinions, though. My philosophy is that of the late James Baldwin: "We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist."

Sex is a social, interpersonal act, so if you have poor or atypical social/interpersonal skills, sex is one of the things you will struggle with. It's unfortunate, but it isn't anyone's fault. The complaint of a porn shortage is ... unique. There's more porn out there than ever before.

First of all, stop reading toxic gender shit on Reddit. Really, it's godawful here. Ban yourself or put in site blockers or something. Secondly, history, short version: Yes, women as a class have usually been oppressed relative to men. However, there are many many individual exceptions, and even in the darkest, most backward times and places, there are remarkable stories of love and friendship. And until the 19th and 20th centuries, the idea of human rights at all didn't exist in the public mind…

Both simps and red-pillers are trying to manipulate women into "giving" them sex. There's also the alternative of not trying to do that. Of trying, instead, to find the beauty in yourself, and other people, and the world. Learning how to make authentic connections with all kinds of people in all kinds of situations. Getting to know your body and be comfortable in it.

They're ... not attractive. And I don't mean physically. Zuckerberg doesn't have any soul behind his eyes, and he invented Facebook in order to allow guys to rate the attractiveness of female classmates. Imagine a bell curve distribution with people who are attracted to EVERYONE at the right tail end and people who are attracted to NO ONE at the left. You're closer to the left tail end. And that's fine. But you'll do better if you recognize that this distribution exists, and that you might be in a less-populated segment of it, and govern your partner-seeking accordingly, without being judgmental or clueless about other people's sexual psychology. "incels hate that sexuality/lust behaviour exists " ^ That sounds pretty low-sex-drive/asexual/sex-negative to me, bro. And you say you don't want girls to feel lust, or desire sexual good times. I see the same thing with incels. I've tried to talk to them about sex-positive communities and polyamory--as in, those are places where nerdy introverts of moderate attractiveness are having a LOT of sex and men are not judged according to height or income--and wow, are they negative about it. They don't want the system that they complain about (patriarchy, basically) to be dismantled--they just want to be successful within that system.

This is absolutely foreign to me. For one thing, a shit-ton of my female friends are queer. And a fair number of us are polyamorous, so "I can get your man" isn't exactly the devastating insult it might be in other circles--more a promise of some blissful time alone in the house. ("You can? Can you get him in time for 'WandaVision'?") And the idea that my or any of our husbands would be turnt just because a prettier woman made a pass at them? Not happening. Do you understand that fascism dehumanizes and devalues many/most groups of people? Your friends aren't disconnecting or "censoring" you because you're edgy, it's because the things you say actually hurt them. Because those ideas have led to people being tortured, enslaved, killed.
