I had serious doubts about paternity after my divorce based on things I learned later. My kids are mine, but until I got the results I decided I wouldn’t tell them if one of the two were mine but would tell them if neither were mine. I also struggled with whether to stick around if neither were mine and ultimately realized I’m their father regardless of them sharing my DNA. The only issue would have been my ex having the legal ability to take custody away. Bottom line is this is a super painful …

This is exactly right. Over the years I repeatedly said I’m not a mind reader and just tell me exactly what you need. The response was always that she shouldn’t have to so that, I should just know. And, by not knowing, I don’t know her and therefore am not a good partner. It was also seen by her as showing no romance if I didn’t know what she needed without her saying. In retrospect I was always going to fail at this.

I called one out recently. Read an emotional post then clicked on the profile and you see they have some divorce coaching business or something similar. It is too easy to take advantage of guys who are in some cases desperate to save their marriages.

Stay strong. If you ever think about ending yourself, get some help. Talk to people. Read this sub. Don’t leave your son to live his life alone with your ex. He needs you, even if there is ever a time where he tells you he hates you.

This for sure. Get a paternity test they are about $75 on Amazon. You rub a swab in the kids’ mouths just tell them it is from the dentist to clean their teeth. STDCheck.com will get you results in 24 hours

I have the reverse problem. My ex keeps going nuts when my kids tell her about stuff we do with my girlfriend and claims I am using my kids as messengers even though I have never told them they should/should not tell my ex about things they do with me.

Well said. I begged and pleaded because I didn’t want my kids to go through a divorce and for that reason alone. I would have quietly lived miserably if it meant my kids had one stable home and two parents. If I didn’t have kids the bitch would have hit the curb the second she asked for divorce and I would have unleashed the nastiest lawyer I could find just for sport.

I was in the same boat with the specter of a monthly obligation like that. I ended up giving away a lump sum. It left me with almost nothing but at least I can survive month to month.

The kids ran to the door to open it.

Thanks. I thought about cameras. I was looking at them this morning. She also comes by my house when I am not there to leave treats for the kids. The easiest thing would probably be to move to a gated community but I can’t make that happen

Keep in mind plenty of them think coffee is a sign of being cheap and will stop talking to you but stick to your guns

Exactly blame your wife for wanting to end your marriage over this shit. The era of social media will do things like this

Yes, but primarily because she has an “anonymous” podcast she does with her hairdresser where she talks shit about me and everything I supposedly did wrong. I haven’t been able to find the podcast but I know that people in her circle listen to that garbage

File and move on. After my ex moved out I knew I would have to be the one to file because she didn’t want to be the bad guy and just wanted to drag things out without ever agreeing to try to reconcile. She was the typical walkaway wife with some BPD mixed in. She even tried to tell me later that didn’t want to reconcile because—AFTER she moved out—I was on a dating app. Now she has an “anonymous” podcast with her hairdresser where she apparently processes (aka talks shit) about her grievances wi…

I’m sorry man but she’s done and has been done for a while. Like so many others here will tell you it is going to be a long journey but you’ll be better off on the other side. Your brain needs a long time to reset and reprogram but when it does you’ll ask yourself why you wasted those 10 years with her

Does she openly try to get back with you or is it more disguised? I feel like I go through this with my bpd ex

I was right there with you man until not too long ago. What changed for me and gave me some sort of perspective shift was going back to studying philosophy, which I did in college. There are some excellent free philosophy lectures in YouTube. I recommend Great Minds of the Western Intellectual Tradition. These are especially easy to understand and got me thinking about myself, my existence, and the universe at large again. After taking care of my kids, I now feel my purpose is to learn as much a…

Same here and I’m not talking about an erotic massage. I will just go to the place in the mall or one of the foot massage places. Even just getting a haircut and having the person wash my hair is good enough for me.

This is a correct observation of the world. As fucked up as it is, you’d be hard pressed to find a woman who truly believed in being equal with you and then was willing to stand up for that belief to her friends. If you want to buy in to another relationship with a woman this is unfortunately part of the price you pay despite what modern feminism dictates

I would do this except my kids will see the messages pop up with that contact name. Or they will try to facetime her and go to that contact

Very accurate assessment. Just get off the apps and meet a woman in person if you want to find a woman. The apps are a shitty and lazy way of going about it
