Though to be fair, the vast majority of the chicks in this image were giving token resistance to the 'pig' behavior. Not you know, actual resistance, but kind of a "I have to act like I don't want it" kind of thing.

Objectification is a useless term. The kinds of objectification that actually cause harm in any way, have other terms that better describe the action. Things like rape and assault. The kinds of objectification that don't actually harm people... Well... It's pretty benign because no one is actually being harmed. These harmless actions don't merit a label such as "objectification" because it needlessly pathologizes benign behavior. Thus, the term "objectification" doesn't have much practical appli…

What Cardplay3r said. Feminist groups specifically do things against men and their rights. Here is NOW's track record on shared parenting: https://www.avoiceformen.com/mens-rights/opposing-shared-parenting-the-feminist-track-record/ Here is Murray Straus explaining how feminists spread disinformation and conceal gender parity in domestic violence: https://pubpages.unh.edu/~mas2/V74-gender-symmetry-with-gramham-Kevan-Method%208-.pdf

It's one of those things that's only considered abuse when the man in the relationship does it. Nagging is another one. The reason why "nagging" is 'gendered' is because it isn't called nagging when men do it. It's called abuse. Men euphemize their abuse by calling it nagging.

Had I, a much smaller and less muscular and less athletic guy than Ray were slapping him and spitting at him, he would have knocked me unconscious and probably would have curb-stomped me into a coma; and it would be viewed as a fair retaliation. He gave Janay a punch that if he were to reveal his force in a percentage, I'd guess he would probably say anywhere between 40%-70% strength was behind it. No long-term physical issues as far as we know, and in fact from everything we know -- part of her…

Is it just me, or does it seem as if some women both condemn the stoning of women for adultery in other countries, but cheer on violent retribution towards male adulterers. Anyways... Truly terrible. Yet not surprising that such a thing doesn't get many views.

In 2008 I took a nutrition class with one of the most prominent HAES authors Linda Bacon and I got practically no feminist politics in her lectures from what I can remember. If I were told that she was a feminist, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me. But if she was a feminist, she did a good job at leaving her feminism at the door when it was time to talk health.

The only thing gendered about this is the term "manspreading." The actual law is gender neutral. Still a dumbass law though.
/r/MensRights11/03/16 02:26 AM

Everything that could have been said in the article could be gender neutral, and that one 'minor' thing would clue every man in on the idea that it was information not meant for them.

I don't disagree with this necessarily. My issue is with callousness to women who experience an injustice.

Well... While kind of unreasonable, that's not necessarily "hateful". But if some of these ratings don't shape up, I'm ditching this shit. This is some really disrespectful stuff. I have sympathy for everyone effected by unjust child support and alimony. Not just men. I'm not "team men" or some retarded shit like that. I'm team justice.

"there is a lot of hate in the men's Rights community" I haven't seen it often if at all in this community. That's why I'm surprised to be seeing some of it here right now.

I'm friends with a woman who has to unjustly pay a shit ton of child support debt (due to a year where she was unemployed) and she will likely never be able to pay it off for the rest of her life. The guy could, at any time, stop all of it. But chooses not to. This is not something we should be okay with just because she's a woman and it "reverses the roles".

She likely won't be as gung-ho about the men's rights movement as you want her to be and she likely won't be as androcentric in her views as you want her to be. Hell, she probably won't even be as much aligned with my beliefs as I would like her to be. Oh well. This doesn't make her an enemy. And the movie will be interesting regardless, and will be good for the MRM regardless.

All that I would say... As an MRA... I really struggle with calling the action "wrong" if the rape did indeed happen. If it didn't happen however, it's insanely wrong... So much so, that I'd be in favor of the death penalty for it. Just personally, I'm conflicted. And I thought bringing up this point would be good food for thought.

Robbing is a far lesser crime than rape. So I can't understand the desire to want to ruin someones life just because they robbed me. I can understand the desire to ruin someones life if that person raped me however.

That's something I don't really understand. If one of my coworkers physically assaulted me without any provocation and for no other reason than to 'dominate me', I would either quit that job, or find a way to never have to work with the guy again; explaining to everyone who wonders why, that the person treated me like shit and that he's a total fucking asshole. Ok... So if you were actually raped, but you don't have the evidence... You're okay with someone saying "tough luck" to you? Look at it this way. If they were really raped but didn't have evidence. What would be the best way to serve the guy who did it justice? Get back at him in the court of public opinion. Reasonable people won't ever know for sure what happened... But it is a sure-fire way for a rape victim to get back at the person who raped them.

False Rape Society (now COTWA) did a piece on it in 2010: http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com/2010/06/this-date-in-history-lorena-bobbitt.html And the things that stood out to me regarding the alleged rape: "Mrs. Bobbitt's version of the facts was the evolving narrative of a woman groping for victimhood. At the time of her arrest, according to the New York Times, she told police: "He always have orgasm and he doesn't wait for me to have orgasm. He's selfish. I don't think it's fair, so I pulled…

From everything we KNOW, Lorena was a POS for this stunt. However, as MRA's... If what she says about John was true. That he raped and abused her on a constant basis... "I'm actually pretty prudish as far as gay guys go, tbh." I'm 'prudish' insofar as I'm not out and out kinky/nymph. I'm not prudish in the sense that I judge others for their sexuality however. When I call women prudish, I'm referring mostly to their judgmental views on other peoples sexuality. But that's pretty interesting... And yet, not AT ALL surprising. "Why is it such a common notion with these types that the all pornography involves "degrading" women, this really being just one trope/style used sometimes in professional pornography?" And the idea that the things that are commonly viewed as "degrading" to women are problematic to begin with. The vanguard of the feminist movement is unsympathetic to victims of abuse. Try Mary P. Koss and her erasure of male rape victims. Michael Kimmel and his downplaying of domestic violence against men. And plenty of the homeless men probably also experienced domestic abuse, but simply are unaware that they could call their experience 'abuse' on the basis that 'men can't be abused'. At least not by women. And it's just a common thing all around that men don't describe their actual abuse as being abuse. It's not a male way to reveal their victimhood.

It's bad only in the sense that India is a rough place to live in general. But the gender divide is largely in the favor of women over there. The claims that the gender disparities harm women more than they harm men is a COMPLETE LIE. It's propaganda.

"only 1/4th of women can consistently cum via PIV." 1) Women in porn are different. In the sense that most of them like sex more than the average woman. And most of them are in tune with their sexuality and their bodies. They have likely 'experimented' more and 'experienced' more. In this sense, many of them are probably a lot like guys. 2) Most of the time when women orgasm in porn (and I know because I watch a ton of it), it isn't necessarily from PIV. Right... And there's plenty of stats out there showing men do more total work (housework + job) than do women. Voicing your unpopular, likely less often heard opinion actually counts as doing something. That's what's often missed in this characterization of those who just "complain online". The passing around of ideas works in a similar fashion as going around town putting up flyers. And you can do it with much less effort. The war of words and ideas is where movements in the seedling phase must get through first in order to have their activism be potent.

"nor do I think it's necessarily beneficial to combat a group to get your point across" I didn't say anything about combating a group, I said something about combating a narrative. But if you were referring to combating 'feminism', I think it must be combated for the simple fact that it is feminists who stand in the way of men's rights when it comes to specific issues. In the heat of the moment you're not always 100% sure if the person who is throwing a punch at you is capable of really harming you. And actually, even someone who isn't very fit is still capable of harming the guys nose, eyes and lips. Even if only minor cuts and scrapes, why should he HAVE to endure any more of that than he wants? Restraining still allows for more possible pain to take place. A swift strike ENDS the entire thing without enduring ANY physical harm whatsoever.

Women have far more UTI's and yeast infections than do men. Yet the discussion for legalizing 'minimally invasive' forms of FGM for girl infants in the U.S. has largely been shot down. All despite the fact that it could absolutely 'benefit' women in a preventive way. Why, it's seen as downright awful that we would do the anatomical equivalent to a female that we do to a male! Feminist ideology is already embedded into the common persons psyche. Don't believe me? Ask a commoner who has had it worse throughout the course of history, men or women. Try "Why Men Are the Way They Are" by Warren Farrell. It's a good intro into the men's rights side of things. It is his most balanced book. Not overwhelmingly androcentric and it takes the woman's point of view serious: http://www.amazon.com/Why-Men-Are-Way-They/dp/042511094X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1402078235&sr=1-1&keywords=why+men+are+the+way+they+are Another good intro book is "Loving Men, Respecting Women" by Tim Goldich: http://www.amazon.com/Loving-Men-Respecting-Women-Politics/dp/…

My stance has always been: What exactly is the harm in 'victim blaming' if you do not believe the victim should face legal consequences and you also believe that the perpetrator deserves to be punished to the fullest extent of the law? The harm, I suppose would be in some form of ostracism. But so what? If you're a victim of something, you're also likely to get quite a few people who do the complete opposite of ostracize... Namely, baby you and shower you with sympathy and affection. The whole w…

The double standard is in fact a sexist one. And considering that the double standard is institutionalized and it harms men and boys... They would have a valid excuse to cling to the label of feminism if there were some powerful and successful egalitarian feminist groups that rallied for both men and women. But there are pretty much ZERO organizations that fit that description adequately. At this point they're useful idiots to a vanguard that has completely tossed out any level of egalitarianism that ever once existed in it. They have some blackmail advantages over you as well as some empathy gap advantages over you. If a woman wants to rape you, she can resort to threatening you with false accusations of rape or abuse to do so. These are less common tactics for male rapists because there's less of a chance of them working for a male rapist, and they also have physical capabilities that female rapists often don't have.

Feminists aren't that naive. They know that the word 'rape' is powerful. It's why they want it all for themselves. If they share it with men then they lose something. What, exactly, I'm not sure. At this point it just seems like they want it only to be able to own the entire narrative on gender. Whether it's "rape apology" or not, I don't know. "Besides how's it a male power fantasy?" The way it has been portrayed. The gay culture with "tops" and "bottoms" and the prison culture where fucking other dudes in the ass is supposed to indicate the most unholiest and most degrading thing you can do to another person. While I think in certain contexts it is a "power" fantasy; I think gynocentrists just like acting as if every dude who likes things a certain way is on a power trip. And I think that's fucked up.

I think the same number of women do "want it" as men. A recent personal example comes to mind. Most women I know exhaust themselves doing shit that their man doesn't ask for (and if they were to ask their man if they wanted it, they'd say 'no'). My mom exhausts herself by cleaning up every little thing in the house. Nobody tells her to do this. Nobody believes it's necessary. The house doesn't need to be absolutely 100% spotless at all hours of every day. A dirt…

I don't agree with it being considered "oppression". I don't even really think it's that big of a deal at all. I think some women just have a stick up their ass about everything that isn't convenient. But from what I hear (I really don't know anything about this shit at all)... Viagra is covered for men, right?

What's annoying is that the only argument that feminists would have against what you said here is "stop blaming women for that"... Bizarre because you didn't actually blame anyone. You just pointed out shitty deals for some men. Feminists have to victimize themselves somehow; so they paint these statements as if they're being blamed for male problems. They probably are just trying to fight off the guilt of not actually giving a shit about these problems.

It's never laws necessarily (although they'll point at birth control not being covered and abortions being expensive or whatever as attacks on their rights)... But it's always some social thing, like women being raped or something. And in order to validate their hysteria over it, they have to try to prove that it's mostly women being raped by men. They're grasping at straws and it's pretty pathetic.

Exactly. I've never felt like I've been "degraded" when I have experienced such things. I don't understand where some of these people come up with this shit. Okay, fine. Some women don't like semen on them in any way. They find it disgusting. Not every fucking woman feels that way...

Hell, what about women who actually gasp LIKE male semen? Yeah crazy thought, huh? A woman liking sex. You say a man likes female ejaculate, and doesn't mind it getting all over his face... "why is it irrational to have rational dislike of fat people?" I said that preferences are irrational. They are not based on objective facts. They are based on feelings. Sometimes those feelings align with objective facts, but the preference is borne out of feelings. I notice a few things about peoples preferences: 1) They're irrational, but are held up by the individual as being completely rational and objective. It's fine for a preference to be irrational. What I'm saying is that people don't get called a coward in this movement when they say they won't intervene when a woman is being raped. But people will be called a coward for not doing something about your specific case. It's kind of bizarre but true. You're not a coward if you don't act on behalf of women. The thing that's bizarre is how little people actually pay attention to male looks being judged by society. The height of a man is insanely important. We named an entire psychological disorder off a dude who was really short; Napolean. I think this is one of those cases where people just pay less attention to the male point of view and pay more attention to the female point of view; in large part because women probably get more offended by their looks being judged harshly (IMO it's because their…

I think it actually could be argued that they are "higher socially" than adults. People care far more about a 9 year old than they do about a 44 year old. Kids matter. Their pain matters. Their lives are preferred when the ship sinks. Is this a bad thing? IMO no. But it is what it is. As for "freedoms"... Lets just say that most people when they look at what they'd rather have: The life of an adult with lots of responsibilities, or the life of a child with lots of social benefits and protection;…

This comment is the reason why "Patriarchy (TM)" is bullshit. It is in no way comparable to slavery. Women were a protected class that had a lack of agency. They were more comparable to how we treat children. Protected, but have to answer to someone. They weren't even close to being comparable to black slaves.

Lots of libertarian MRA's =/= libertarian banner. They don't silence or censor non-libertarian views on the sole ground that they are non-libertarian. For this, I don't believe they cross any lines. What you will experience at AVfM is what you would experience at any gathering that has a majority of one demographic. Like say, a white person hanging out with mostly black people. A woman hanging out with mostly men. It is going to seem (and most often correctly so) that there are 'slants' among th…

Literally anyone can write an article for that site as long as it's about men's rights. Any disagreements she has she could have written an article about. Disagree with libertarianism? Write an article about how men's rights can work without libertarianism. Disagree with MGTOW? Write an article about how men's rights can work without MGTOW. So yeah... Most people dislike radical feminists; or stereotypical versions of feminists. "Dyke" haircuts and calling men pigs. The amount of feminists who fit the bra-burning stereotype are small. Most people may not consider themselves feminists, but they ARE gynocentric and they believe tenets of feminism without knowing that they are tenets of feminism. Such as the historical oppression of women and that women currently have it worse than men. And so if you're arguing with people who believe those tene…

I was on the A Voice for Men facebook page recently, and there was a JohntheOther picture that had garnered a bunch of attention. Arguments between feminists and MRA's. The MRA's did an AWFUL job of arguing (as did the feminists). And it was just ugly all around. I felt embarrassed reading constant "bitch" and "whore" and "slut" and "feminazi" or just plain "nazi". Embarrassed. I'm sorry. But a lot of MRA's have got to do a better job of discussing these things. Maybe it's just AVfM's crowd, or …

"The problem is that they way feminism is currently structured, the men who agree and fight for it will subjugate themselves in order to be accepted, therefore no longer equal." It's women being slapped in the face with the obvious fact that feminism requires male subjugation. The cognitive dissonance is entertaining. "B-but feminism is about equality!" "Of course it is. Just look at all those feminist men acting as your equals."

Martin Luther King and others weren't in front of a podium calling for the censorship of white racist comedians (as far as I know). Despite the fact that very little was done about racist jokes during that time, western society has gotten better in terms of racist jokes. Maybe because, like you say, it was a reflection of society; not a cause for how society was. Censorship is regressive garbage. It's like attacking a straw man, or feeding a troll. It never solves the problems of racism, sexism …

And it is a very valuable facet that is being minimized. Equating those who only engage in dialogue as people who "do nothing", when they in fact do more than most other people. I was brought to gender issues because of the dialogue that I saw Typhon Blue engage in. I don't know what else she does, if anything. Does it really matter? I was convinced by her arguments. Looking at someone in a strictly sexual sense is no worse than looking at someone in a strictly humorous sense. So both could be considered "objectification". For instance, we watch Chris Rock for the sole purpose to be entertained and to laugh. We have very little concern about anything else with regards to Chris Rock. If we're being consistent, then we're objectifying Chris Rock. If you care enough to be consistent with such bullshit, then you're going to have to explain how this is an immoral…

I don't know if you've noticed it or not, but the "complaining" about it that's been done on websites like AVoiceforMen is what has made this movement grow. Plenty of people have bad experiences. Not everyone extrapolates from that experience that X group must be bad because of an incredibly small sample size of anecdotes. Considering how many of the tenets of feminism have spread like wild-fire throughout the country, I don't find it hard to believe that her small sample size of anecdotes mixed with feminist indoctrination is the cause of her shitty beliefs.

Very similar if not identical concept to what I presented. Your idea shows more nuance, but I only believe that nuance to be understood by feminists... The ones who have read the books. Outside of the feminist sphere, people just seem to believe that women have it worse than men and that women have been historically oppressed. Both my idea and your idea are expressed by people in identical gynocentric manners.

I feel like this has to be spelled out to people all the time when I say "feminists are like this" or "men are like this and women are like this". They get offended when it's a generalization about women. They usually don't get offended when it's a generalization about the human species.

I think things like "patriarchy" are mainstream period. The label doesn't need to be slapped to it, but "historical oppression of women" and "women have it worse than men" are things that the vast majority of the population in the U.S. believes. At least, it sure as fuck seems like it.

I suspect that he'd argue that the "potential converts" who don't make it to the end are the types of people he wouldn't want to be converted anyways. He wants people in the movement to be guided by a strong will and critical thinking, not their emotions or their ability to be offended. If you're someone who gets offended easily, he probably believes you to be expendable to the movement.

A feminist in the comment section of this article: http://blog.chron.com/sacredduty/2013/05/female-atheists-fight-for-equality-in-freethought-movement/ Confirms your belief that it's only really cultural beliefs and social treatment that feminists have a beef with. "I don't think it's really a secret that women judge men on several factors when assessing their potential as a partner." Of course. The lie that is being perpetuated and needs to be vehemently debunked is that those reasons aren't as shallow as men's smaller list of factors. Women get into so many abusive relationships for a reason. And that reason is that often times what they look for in men is incredibly shallow and it passes over important things like "will he be abusive towards me?" Obviou…

Yeah I mean it's pretty obvious IMO that men are shallow. That isn't necessarily the point of that video; which clearly shows the dude being shallow by choosing to engage an attractive high-status female. The point is to show how women are JUST AS SHALLOW as men are. This is a view that isn't commonly held in my experience and is considered downright offensive when I see it mentioned.
