I had a futon for my main sofa for years, comfy af, even if I had no bed it was a comfy bed. Only reason I got rid of it was I got a house and wanted a comfy sofa because by then I could afford one. If I had not improved my finances I would still be happy with my futon. I replaced the mattress part every 5 years but it did me good.

I picked up the concept 2 rowing machine in March of 2020, love it, same one that gyms buy, splits into 2 pieces, cost me 1200 but a year of gym would be 500 add in gas etc so now that we are rolling into 2021 still locked down it will pay for itself after this year.

Besides the odd trip to the theatre and maybe trip to a physical electronics store not much has changed, work out and work from home prior to that was already good. Apart from saving more on razors because I don’t shave much now. Also no need to go into a physical office for the odd work meeting which saves me gas and such. Play games and chat on discord.

Leather working is one I enjoy, best idea is design say a tool belt or bag with paper then make it out of leather. You can buy pre dyed or dye leather yourself. Many great YouTube vids online, I also took up sewing and embroidery more so to learn how. Making your own clothing that perfectly fits your form is also a good way to pass time.

Even with dusting, vacuum of floors (vac has the attachment for non carpet) steam mop of floors and bathrooms that can be mopped. Lysol wipe down all bathrooms and kitchen surfaces, empty a load of dishes, do 1 load of laundry and make a dinner I could do that all in 2 hours easily. Like would you eat a nice ripe yellow banana or would you go for the rotten 4 day old banana that is all mushy and saggy. Adding sewing and tailoring to my list of skills. Also machine embroidery and adding more to my graphic design skills, also was learning blender for some 3D modelling, debated getting a 3D printer but got side tracked after buying the sewing machine. Funny you mention sewing. I picked up a sewing machine a few months ago. Got a few patterns, some fabric etc. Made myself a short sleeve button up. Cut all the pieces, sewn all the buttons myself. Skills I thought I need to find a wife who can sew back in my younger days. Now I literally have no reason to want a wife or gf. Also got a machine that does embroidery so been learning how to add unique touches to clothes or perhaps make my own design pattern for a shirt.

I had almost 30k then used almost all of it to pay the down payment, lawyer fees for the house and deposits on utilities. Invested time in a new hobby, picked up a sewing/ embroidery machine. Learned how to use the machine and many of its various functions. $200 ish for half hide of leather, $40 some for dye, $8 for thread and maybe $100 in various other tools. If I billed for all the hours all the hole punching for each thread hole, hand stitching, hand dye and riveting all the buckles prob cost double that. I made this for me.

I hear ya, been slacking on gym for 6 months, my plan is do 1 min more max incline on the treadmill each day than before, eventually ending at about 30 mins for my pre cardio workout before lifting. Figure if I push myself to go a min more each day I should be good by late May. I learned from past mistakes to not start where I left off if I take an extended break from gym. Also working back up to a faster pace at the same time till I am eventually slow jogging up a hill.

Got the hubba hubba mx back packer tent 2 years ago myself, just perfect for me and my gear, crazy quick setup and under 5lbs, cost a pretty penny but dam was it worth it. Also got the tarp designed to go under it, best part is if it’s raining you can dismantle the tent while the main shelter tarp is up, pack that away then the base and then poles and main tarp up all while staying dry.
