Perhaps we could create something in the vein of a 'skill trade' thread, where everyone posts what kind of skills they have and products they could produce, and other users could purchase items with money, or trade items / skills that they have in return. That way people can continue practicing their skills while getting things they want / need.

When you take some fairly cheap and boring ingredients, add intangible things like skill, talent and imagination and transform ingredients into something much more valuable than the sum of it's parts.
