Not celebrities, but people who don’t want to get fired from their jobs. If you don’t think it happens, you aren’t paying attention. Don’t get me wrong, the movement will come. But more men need to wake up first. It starts online.

Art can be interpreted based on social context. Knowing the details of the artist’s life and work may improve the judgement of art, but is not a prerequisite.
/r/MensRights16/06/20 01:32 PM
13

That is not at all what I’m doing here. Judging art/propaganda is not the same as judging an individual person. The correct way to judge art is through the context of its time. This image is a typical piece of propaganda that gets its strength from the fact that society cares more when one woman suffers than if 100 men suffer.

I wasn’t born yesterday. The post was intended to cherry pick the molehill off women’s suffering to distract from the mountain of men’s, and is part of a constant drumbeat of similar from our culture.
/r/MensRights16/06/20 12:17 PM

Bias takes the form of cherry picking more often than it takes the form of being anti. This is biased, and intended to create a false impression.

Part of male disposability is telling us that, whenever we aren’t looking, men are being monsters. That makes it easier for society to throw us in the garbage, because they have a ready-made monster template for any man who becomes undesirable.

Terminology: Biden is accused of “rape” (digital penetration is within the definition of rape, not just sexual assault). In other cases, the media throws around the word “rape” when it doesn’t apply, but here they are tending to downgrade the accusation and describe it as “sexual assault.” I am torn as to how I feel. Obviously, “believe all women” is BS, but that was Biden’s credo, so maybe he should be held to it.

I recommend you watch the documentary “The Red Pill.” The pill terminology has been coopted by the subreddit. Eg the website avoiceformen.com had the slogan “take the red pill” long before the subreddit. Basically, the broader notion of the red pill starts with Warren Farrell”s book The Myth of Male Power. The red-pill Matrix metaphor is that, contrary to the narrative that men hold all the power we, in fact, live in a gynocentric culture (valuing women more than men, except for a few outlier me…

She is thinking about one time, when there was a hot guy who she would normally consider beneath her, but she decide to try it with him, and he ghosted her. Women rarely get rejected, but the few times they do become formative moments in their brains.

A big problem is that r/theredpill is just one variety of “red pill” thinking—one that many people (like myself) who identify as red pill don’t agree with. In answer to your question, MGTOW is far more insightful in my opinion than r/theredpill.

Personally, I would worry about the birthrate. If the population shrinks, it shrinks. You are right that women have a built-in value because they are the reproductive bottleneck. But modern life provides lots of ways for men to keep themselves happy without women—and, of course, society tries to shame men who can live without women. The focus of the manosphere these days is to deprogram men from that shame. Men can do without women.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/02/20 04:05 PM
2

You need to let go of the idea of fairness. Of course, society looks for ways to help women, because it CARES about them. The idea that they are oppressed is just a pretext. The world does not care about men. Adjust your understanding of life accordingly.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/02/20 01:26 PM
4

Women are wired to only care about the top slice of men. To see this clearly, just think about how much more well-mannered, clean, and well-maintained the average man is now than 200 years ago. Men are not falling short on any absolute scale. It is female nature to be repulsed by all but the top strata of any group of men. (Of course, women and white knights will have all kinds of excuses—just like they pull out of their asses to deny all forms of female shortcoming.)

You are misunderstanding. The shock is not over the fact that women are attracted to top guys; it is how invisible the rest of us are to you. It’s like, maybe we should stop directing so much positivity and hope towards women, because women don’t return the favor.

It is not about changing women. It is about teaching men to de-prioritize women, and consequently be cooler to each other, now that we aren’t competing for female approval.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/20 07:10 PM
1

You are misunderstanding. Red pill also believes that men are becoming less interested in commitment—and is trying to accelerate this trend. That is what concepts like AWALT are for.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/20 07:06 PM
2

I don’t mean to be rude, but this strikes me as appalling blindness. Yes, there are isolated cases where female murderers are brought to justice. And there are fictional characters all over the map. It amazes me that women can’t see how their feelings are protected. Heard/Depp are just one of many examples. I’m not interested in continuing this discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/20 01:51 AM
2

Lol. Please send me something from the mainstream news painting women that way. You are viewed negatively in hushed tones, privately, or online anonymously. But as far as schools, the media, etc., women are all sugar and spice. Don’t pretend it isn’t true.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/20 01:23 AM

This story goes against our society’s rule that women must only ever be shown in a positive light, so it gets squashed. It’s pretty simple.

/r/MGTOW08/02/20 03:52 AM

Women can. That’s fine. The point of talking about this stuff is for men to realize that, for most, women will not be the positive force in their lives that they had hoped and expected.

What you’re missing is that men who observe these things (at least the smart ones) aren’t talking to women, or trying to get them to change. They are trying to help other men change how they think about women—and give up on the belief that women will be a positive force in their lives.

My wife and I have been through this more times than I can count. In fact, discussing men’s issues with the women in my life has shown me that the man/woman problem is far deeper than I had imagined. It has profoundly changed how I think about women as a group—which most people would think is not something I’m “supposed” to say, because somehow judging women is off limits.

If a person wants to assess how secure he/she can expect to be in a relationship, then this is relevant information. Saying that we shouldn’t talk about women ending marriages makes as much sense as keeping it a secret that men may ghost after a ONS.

Whoever women “typically date” is not a measure of their preference for tall men—since there are not enough tall men to go around. Are you honestly disputing whether women prefer taller-than-average guys? Because wow.

Thank you. That is an important point.
/r/MensRights18/11/19 05:46 PM

Give me a break. Women’s preference for tall men is obvious. Cherry picking a counter-example doesn’t change that. It is amazing the mental contortions people go through to deny women’s shortcomings.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/19 05:39 PM

We don’t think it is exactly true, but that it brings up a genuine truth about women. Women are extremely shallow in their sensitivity to men’s height, and women get an undeserved pass over this.

Saying that men’s desires are forever that of a 12 year old is just gynocentric man shaming. Yes, men develop a lifelong fascination with the female body—which females then cash in to manipulate men.

The median is not always the “best statistic.” You need to actually consider the data. It sounds like it is so variable in this case that one cannot have confidence in the median. It would be better to try to explain why the data is so inconsistent.

That paper abstract says “rates vary between .8% and 30%, median 3.7%.” It looks like a meta analysis of 17 datasets. That range is way too large to just take the median and call it cool.

Please don’t do any harm to yourself. Women are just not that important. Right now, you are unhappy and imagine that finding a woman would be the solution. But the solution lies within yourself. Try to relax and understand that not having a woman isn’t a failing or shortcoming on your part.

Just because you life has struggle, doesn’t mean you don’t have advantages. For example, I am sorry women feel such insecurity over their appearance. But that does not change the fact that it is much easier for women to be considered attractive than for men. The data on that is very clear—despite people wanting to bend over backwards to dismiss it. (An example of another advantage: people will twist themselves in knots to protect women’s feelings.)

It’s funny to hear hard science academics (and I know plenty) defend/rationalize that there is still good work being done in their department. As if the rigorous minutea they study redeems the university, while it mid-educates legions of students (who mortgage their lives for the privilege) and while SJWs burn the centuries-accumulated public good will. TLDR; yes, there is still good work going on, but it isn’t what matters. It is “academic” in the demeaning sense. To put it another way: you say…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/19 09:40 PM

I said academia can no longer be “relied upon” for truth. This is correct because a large chunk of academia is corrupted due to the fact it is run by people who can’t say no to women. I agree with you that the truth will eventually prevail—even though (in at least the short/medium term) people will need to look elsewhere than academia to find it.

/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/19 01:17 PM

This is a great example of why people are looking other places than academia for guidance on how to live their lives. Here he is, dicking around as if it is actually in doubt whether men’s lives, more than women’s, are characterized by unfulfilled sexual desires. Everyone knows this is true (and as he points out, there is empirical evidence everywhere), but academics are too PC (read “scared of lying feminists”) to speak with clarity on the topic.

Elite athletics is mostly about genes—but it is irrelevant to most people because it is impossible for them. Being in shape is about workout habits. First, people deny hypergamy because they don’t like hearing ill of women. Period. Second, “pair bonding” is an offsetting force to hypergamy once a relationship starts. Your success with women is not the measure of you as a person. As you observed, women can be very fickle in how they pick men—and for some fucked up reason, men are not allowed to have feelings about this (though women are allowed to complain about how men pick all day long). I agree that it is a struggle. Men need to cultivate patterns of thought on this—notice when we are thinking of women as angels and remind ourselves that they aren’t. No, men support women’s issues—except for a few frustrated men on the Internet, who only feel able to protest anonymously, for fear of being ostracized and/or losing their jobs. In general, men support women in their issues. Women do not reciprocate.

Reality is that these women feel oppressed because they don’t get to be taken as seriously as their husbands who work 80 hours a week. So they attend women’s marches, and their husbands are supposed to feel guilty, even while working themselves into early graves.

Obviously, there would be offense here, but the analogy to paternity testing is a poor one. The current law gives men no protection if they act as a putative father for an extended time. If they discover that the child is not theirs later, they have no options, and the woman faces no repercussions. In view of this Gynocentric law, women should be understanding of men protecting their interests—because the law won’t. Really, paternity testing should be automatic at the hospital, thus avoiding off…

Looks matter a lot to women. However, women find almost all men to be physically unattractive (about 80%). As a result, women who are not themselves stunning acclimate to the fact that they need to settle for men they find unattractive. (The desire to appeal to the tiny subset of attractive men also manifests in what women perceive as an unrelenting beauty standard they are pressured to live up to.)
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/19 07:19 PM
1

Sounds like cherry picking to me. If the data had shown women were generous in their evaluations of men, I doubt you would be calling it non-probative then.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/19 03:24 PM
1

How is it not real life? It is millions of responses from tens (or hundreds) of thousands of real people. From a scientific perspective, it is better data than nearly anything else in social science.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/19 02:27 PM
5

An intimate relationship is one of very few avenues for men to have another person care about them. Women, on the other hand, have all of society caring about them (as well as ample messages of empowerment telling them that they are important because they are women). So men are more starved for the kind of validation that is found in relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/19 11:50 AM
2

I can appreciate that it is more nuanced, but the internet data could also have gone in the direction of women saying lots of guys look good—instead of the definitive opposite of that. Waiving that repeated and overwhelming finding away is cherry picking.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/19 10:50 PM
3

That’s what you claim, but the evidence says otherwise. Millions of data points from OkCupid and Tinder research are clear: women find the vast majority of men physically unattractive. If you all are so “deep” why does the data show the opposite?

I don’t see how the road sign logo is cringy.
/r/MGTOW18/03/19 02:34 PM

This is simple excuse making. Women are only “less visual” in that they will settle after realizing that they cannot land a man they find attractive (because that is a tiny percentage of men). So they get with a man they find unattractive (and harbor resentment over it).

/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/18 03:33 PM
1

Lots of women date and marry men who they do not consider attractive. That is a big topic. For example, it helps explain why the norm is for men to pursue, trying to persuade women to date them (buying dinner and diamonds, etc.) Unfortunately, this leads a lot of women to consider their romantic relationships as implicit favors they are doing for their partners. (Where the man keeps accumulating and unspoken debt for her company.)
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/18 03:18 PM
2

Ok Cupid was hundreds of thousands of subjects rating millions of potential dating partner, and has been replicated in analyses by other dating sites. It is a solid finding. People don’t like facts that cast women in unflattering light, but that doesn’t make the facts less true. If you don’t think it is true, then why did this result occur? (It is statistically overwhelming and wasn’t random.)
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/18 03:10 PM
2

The OkCupid analysis is on firmer ground than practically anything in social science: millions of independent observations from a population that didn’t know they were being observed and had not reason to lie. The results came out that way because that is reality. Women are hypergamous. Their orientation is to filter out men and focus only on the top few. (Which is also why they believe men are privileged.)
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/18 01:46 PM
1

Somewhere in the middle. Let’s not indulge a false equivalence. Women deem about 80% of men below average (cruel), while men assess about 50% of women that way (fair).
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/18 01:41 PM
5

AF/BF has been scientifically demonstrated in many studies showing female mate preference changes depending on where they are in their ovulating cycle. It is primal, down to them preferring the smell of shirts from more masculine featured men when they are fertile.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/18 01:11 AM

Women have the right to be cruel in how they rate men. But they cannot insist that men pretend that it is otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/18 11:55 PM
7

When women deem 80% of men as below average in attractiveness, that is cruel. When women examine gender outcome differences by looking only at the few men at the top (why so many male CEOs) while ignoring the far more numerous men at the bottom (eg the homeless or incarcerate), that is spoiled.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/18 11:12 PM
22

The most important thing is that you realize that your worth is not determined by what women think of you. Women are spoiled and cruel in the way they evaluate men. Don’t let them get inside your head.

I agree that study finding seems disturbing. It is hard to take it as definitive because, if instead it had cast women in an unflattering position, there would have been lots of handwringing and caveats (maybe the sick men would be called abusive or impossible to live with). In other words, there would be excuse making. But, because it sounds bad for men, get that story to press pronto!

The old natural = acceptable fallacy. The fastest way to see why this fails is that lots of stuff in nature is plainly morally unacceptable: rape, murder, infanticide, etc. Yet nobody defends those. This illustrates that the appeal to nature is not a guideline, but rather a wildcard argument that gets pulled out only to give weight to a moral intuition that we can’t otherwise defend.

Men are far more likely to: be homeless; be incarcerated; fail in educational attainment; commit suicide; become drug addicted; die early; be a victim of violence. How does Darwinian pragmatism differ from the appeal to nature fallacy? It strikes me as a skeleton-key argument: whenever you are intuitively inclined to approve of something you argue that that thing has an evolutionary basis (because things that exist usually exist for a reason). But for things you don’t intuitively approve of, you just hypocritically don’t follow that logic. Eg racial genocide and rape have evolutionary explanations, but I doubt many Darwinian pragmatists would rise to the d…

I think you are reading MGTOW harsher than it is. Women aren’t soulless, but they have motives that our society treats as a secret (because you cannot say anything that even casts women in an unflattering light). MGTOW argues that the combination of these female tendancies, together with society’s determination to take women’s side (because they are sugar and spice) means that women are not good partners for men. So the world is not fundamentally inconsistent with a rational creator, but the cur…
