im 33, and I found out about hi protien, lower carb diet has me in close to the best shape of my life. We were so lied to by that fucked up food pyramid they taught us in school, telling us to carb up like crazy! i like to do 2 warmup sets before each workout, where you hit 25 or 20 reps, and then keep adding weight each set from there until you cant hit 15 reps any more. then you can drop the weight down and keep repping it out extra sets. if you want you can keep adding weight until 10 or 12 reps, feel it out bruh. I like body weight exercises in general but if hes 50lbs overweight this isnt great advice. most likely to just hurt his shoulder jumping into that program honestly. If your 50lbs overweight, just start cutting down on the carbs, yoga or pilates will help alot as well. do a 1 hour walk as a double session in addition to your workouts or as an "off day" workout. the key point here is being that much over weight is a diet issue most likely, it must be addressed there!
