There's enough of a moral panic going on already. Can we stop pretending like this policy has anything to do with random women

"hey can you give more specific examples" "idk i can't, i don't wanna call people out even though i'm already calling them out" Lmao

Yeah so much discourse around sex and dating would be solved if people would just stop passing their bigotry and judgmental behavior off as "personal preferences". You can choose not to date someone without trashing on them. (Not saying anyone in particular is doing it here, just in general)

Istg they have 1 comeback to everything and it's always "safety" lol. This moral panic has gone way too fucking far. I say let these people self-segregate if they want, we shouldn't be forced to put up with their presence. I won't comment on the validity of gender segregation but I do believe it's a net benefit for society if bigots are segregated from normal people and unwelcome in mixed spaces. Their shit needs to be quarantined.

Let's not forget a new factor: the fear of being used as a statistic in these shitty victim-blaming grievance studies

Also, men tend to be more violent not because of some moral flaw, but because historically it was highly necessary. Humans would no longer exist today if men didn't volunteer their strength to defend their communities from threats. I think most people intuitively understand this, otherwise society wouldn't glorify height and muscles and demean men who are physically small/weak. And yet those same people take this for granted all the fucking time.

"people" doesn't include men EU saying the quiet part out loud, huh E: lmao i just got a reply arguing it's "fighting aged men" not men in general, but it seems to have been deleted. Just so no one else says something so fucking stupid again, are "fighting aged men" not literally the majority of men lol

A surprising number of people aren't against rape, they're only against it happening to the "wrong" demographic.

Tbh it doesn't really matter what an individual thinks feminism is. The most objective way to define it is by the actions of those who identify with it, and if that doesn't paint a flattering picture, then the movement is undeniably corrupt, full stop. As for the ever-popular "no true scotsman" argument? Well I don't care about that. If these are "fake feminists" as they like to say, then the failure to police/eject them is also a failure of the movement itself. There may be room to argue whethe…

I always say we should debate for the purpose of convincing fence-sitters who might be witnessing the argument. Obviously feminists can't be convinced but engaging with them successfully might help reduce their credibility and cultural dominance.

True, but that applies to everything. At that point we might as well just kiss all culture goodbye
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/06/26 11:48 PM

I guess so. Not sure about the left wing part tho. On the one hand, we obviously don't want to end up accidentally representing right wing chuds all over again. But on the other hand, look at what integrating politics into identity did to feminism...but I guess that's more of a question of self-policing than personal expression

Nobody said anything about traditional masculinity. Masculinity can just be a vibe or whatever the hell we want. Encouraging individual men to define it themselves is also a kind of liberation.

Good question. I think it starts with having some kind of culture/aesthetic we can partake in and use to signal our group identity. I know it's cliched and there will be people who take it way too seriously to the point of gatekeeping, but it's still a necessary starting point for human beings to feel some sense of community and pride. And now that I think of it, pretty much every demographic on the left already has something like this except for men. You can tell just how much of an effect it h…

Tbh maybe what we need right now isn't just egalitarianism but a male equivalent to feminism (masculinism??). It's not enough to advocate for our rights, we also need to reclaim and celebrate our own gender identity the same way women do. The world will never be positive towards us, so we must generate our own positivity to counter all their bullshit and help men and boys realize their gender/expression of it is not a fucking problem.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates26/06/26 08:33 AM
15

Tbh at this point I'd rather be openly hated than "tolerated" by these women. It's a good thing if they remove themselves from my social pool without me having to ask
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates24/06/26 11:53 PM
23

It's not that we don't get offended as easily. It's that getting offended just doesn't benefit us like it does for women. People aren't going to censor the hate just because we don't like it. If anything, they'll only double down more just to spite us. Sometimes there really is nothing you can do but accept that you will be hated no matter what and pretend like it doesn't affect your self-esteem
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates24/06/26 11:47 PM

I wouldnt be surprised if there are huge swathes of women out there who literally don't believe consent applies to men
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates23/06/26 04:30 PM

It's really sad to see how many men just roll over and accept abuse from women.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates23/06/26 05:01 AM
68

This has nothing to do with advocating for women. The point is that feminism at its core is built on excluding men on the basis that men are the oppressors, or at least not oppressed enough to need help. How can you expect any good advocacy to come out of that? You can't. It doesn't matter how well-meaning a feminist is, the ideology itself has no room for men. Any attempts to reconcile the two always come off as insincere, ineffectual and frankly tone deaf. And that is IF feminists are even int…

Oh I saw the thread in the music sub...so many feminists insisting that their movement actually cares about men and that she's ignorant for suggesting it doesn't lol. I truly wonder what their definition of "caring" is or how they even manage to look at their own actions and call that helpful to men with a straight face.

Anger is seen as threatening/toxic. Doesn't matter if you're not a violent person and don't direct your anger at innocent people, or if you're angry for completely justified reasons. Just being visibly angry around certain types of women is enough to get you labeled emotionally unstable.

I think it's a plausible theory. I agree dysphoria must be an inherent thing that will eventually be awakened by something, otherwise trans people wouldn't be trans. But it's impossible to measure how much sexism factors into it since it's so subjective. I feel like it can be anything from the 1st trigger, the tipping point to just a complicating factor in someone's transition. I don't even know which one it is for myself.

I often wonder if I'm feeling the inverse from the opposite side of the fence. Like do I really just wanna be a man because that's who I am and it feels right?? Or is it just me becoming misogynistic after having seen the ugliest side of my own team and feeling lumped in with them?? It's genuinely impossible to tell. I know I've felt disgust for all things feminine since I was a kid, before I even knew gender politics was a thing. But I can't deny that those feelings intensified and went from su…

My impression is that pretty much all female pop artists have had/are still in a man-hating phase. Didn't Sabrina Carpenter openly encourage "calling men stupid in as many ways as possible" and feature men being assaulted in her music videos? Or was it Chappell Roan? Billie Eilish? Idk their names all blur together at this point.

My first and only therapy experience was a very expensive appointment with someone who completely ignored what I was there for (to get help coping with incurable physical health problems) in favor of inventing a narrative about my supposed "childhood trauma" and laying the condescending pity on thick. So yeah. That was humiliating. The kicker was that I was sent there by a doctor who also didn't give a damn and just assumed I was depressed/anxious lol.

The only reason why women haven't started as many wars is a lack of opportunity. If history had more female leaders than male ones, absolutely nothing would change except the pronouns of the warmongers. The desire for power and wealth isn't stored in the balls after all.

This is what happens when you try to tack nuance onto a framework that inherently precludes it. It makes for an incoherent and self-contradictory worldview. But for many people, completely overhauling their entire belief system is too hard, so this is what they do instead. It's why I don't take the word "intersectionality" seriously anymore, because it means nothing if it's being talked about in the context of feminism (which it always is).

I agree, we do need to continue talking about masculinity. BUT, it will only be productive if we stop talking in terms of this false dichotomy conservatives and feminists have created, where you're either a soft emotional modern man or a toxic violent asshole. If we don't explicitly reject the whole premise, we'll only be reinforcing it. Sadly, most people aren't ready to recognize the problem with this discourse yet.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates25/04/26 01:32 AM

Well it'd be great if men were allowed to decide this for themselves instead of women constantly trying to use this as a tool to police men's behavior. I've seen too much talk about "positive masculinity" as softness and vulnerability and self-sacrifice, mostly for the benefit of women. But yknow what I haven't seen? Any attempt to help boys explore their masculinity, or even any positivity towards masculinity in general. We need that now more than ever.

In order to acknowledge that something is propaganda designed to divide and radicalize, you need to first realize it isn't true. And many people aren't even ready to admit that the things the internet says about crime, bears, rape statistics etc aren't true.

Also the disgusting rule that required compensation recipients to pay the prison service for living expenses has been overturned and won't apply to him. Past exonerees won't be refunded. We're literally on the receiving end of that right now, I don't see why we should perpetuate the same thing we've been vocally fighting against. All I want is for people to revise their shitty beliefs, apologize for whatever they've been personally guilty of and do better.

One could argue that when women are assaulted on the street, it's more likely to be sexual in nature. Women are more scared of that than generic violence so to them, if you aren't at risk of being raped, you must be safer. Most women prob don't seriously consider the possibility of being mugged without at least some sexual component to it. As for men, I think a certain type of man is more prone to overestimating their self-defense ability. And even among men who don't, I think many just don't sh…

Honestly I think we need to reclaim this shit. Own it so it can no longer be used against us, the same way women have been owning their natural features as just a part of who they are. Thanks for the genuine answer. I completely understand how you feel, it's exhausting and infuriating sometimes. Doubly so when it's someone who should be on my side but isn't. But you managed to make an impact that day and I think that's more than what a lot of other people could accomplish. Sadly people are becoming less and less open-minded these days. Good thing I don't care about what you think then. You can call me an adversary if you want, that doesn't change the fact that you're more anti-feminist than pro-men and no amount of dressing up your language is going to change that. And I don't take advice from reactionaries. Peace.

The fact that you have to resort to ad-hominem attacks only proves my point that we're our own worst enemy. Blame men?? Lmao. I don't need to blame men when they already do a good enough job of turning against each other. All it takes is another man saying something that isn't vitriolic enough towards feminism. It's not "victim blaming" to point out strategic issues about our messaging. Every time I see someone playing the oppression olympics with both genders' struggles on reddit, I'm consistently the only one to point out that these problems exist. Maybe you mean that these problems have been known in academia for decades, but that still doesn't mean the average person knows about it, especially since feminists work hard to make sure none of this gets the attention it deserves. If we don't preach it to as many people as possible, how are they going to know or care??

Are we going to just roll over and accept that our opinions will never be heard?? Even feminists didn't give up this quickly back in the suffragette days. Such a bizarre attitude.

I've heard that legalization is worse for sex workers than decriminalization as any regulations created will likely favor business owners more than the workers and enable legal exploitation of them, while anyone who doesn't want to work under such conditions will be forced to do sex work illegally. Exactly, that was historically. Now wealth has become almost completely decoupled from gender, yet feminism still clings onto that outdated idea like it's gospel. If it can't adapt to the needs of modern society then it needs to be left behind. If you go to any ftm-related sub, you will see it's a pretty common topic. Every now and again there will be a post complaining about how they don't feel welcome in most queer spaces or how often they're talked over about their own experiences. This is a common debate topic on that sub. Thankfully, many commenters there agree with us on this one. I think people here are way too absolute in their belief that all leftists are misandrist when that sub clearly proves otherwise

Well yeah, but I think it's necessary to recognize that misandry isn't inherently a leftist position. If anything it's the exact opposite. It just happens that a lot of leftists have had their beliefs corrupted by online gender war propaganda. We don't have to like or agree with them, but if we want to reclaim leftism then it's all the more important that we don't just throw our hands up and abandon it to the right.

I think it's given the right a lot of ammo to radicalize young men and fracture the left. OP's attitude here is literally a prime example of radicalization. And I'm sure the right had a big hand in stoking the gender war as well. But it doesn't matter how overblown the original problem was or who caused it at this point, the consequences are here to stay and we need to take it as seriously as anything else.

Even if men were the ones getting pregnant without any change to either gender's anatomy, it still wouldn't make the original statement true lmao. If anything abortions would be freely available to rich and powerful men since they have the money to lobby for it, while in the poor it would be treated like any other humanitarian issue, ie. completely ignored unless convenient. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it'd carry the same costs as any other healthcare just so only rich men can afford it. An…

I have yet to hear an iteration of this opinion that actually makes sense. Sure, trans people can transition differently or not at all, they can feel dysphoria to different extents etc...but to say dysphoria isn't required at all is just denying the entire diagnostic criteria. What makes someone trans then?? Just vibes??

Yes, but you can find those outside of the lgbt community is what I'm saying. It's better to make friends who happen to be gay than make friends because they're gay
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates30/12/25 11:30 AM

Nah you're not missing out on much. Tbh I think people pressuring each other into being part of "the community" is a major cause of all this bullshit. Most lgbt people have nothing in common with each other except being lgbt. Most don't even have the same opinions on 99% of lgbt topics. When you put so many people together whose identities are simultaneously their only common ground and a big sore spot, it's inevitable that they'd start turning on each other sooner or later. That's why I conside…

So you think being trans is a choice?? Hmm, where have I heard that rhetoric before...surely not from homophobes talking shit about gay people... Maybe think about who is really the transphobic one here.

That's because they have no choice. Dysphoria can lead to debilitating depression and suicide. It's like choosing to get chemo for cancer even though it's horrible and uncomfortable and makes you go bald. Well, the alternative is worse, so...

What I'm asking is why this mindset exists. Why is women's porn considered better/not porn?? How does it being text-based make it any better??
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates18/12/25 01:16 PM
51

Yep, that's why I said it's a sex ed issue. But there's this common refrain that women's porn doesn't count as porn for some reason, so it's escaped mainstream consciousness. I don't think this topic can ever be meaningfully taught until all forms of porn are openly recognized and treated as such. Otherwise we're just leaving blind spots and adding more confusion and resentment.

What I don't understand is why there's this mainstream opinion that visual porn = bad and text-based porn = good. Ok, I guess you could argue professional porn is incredibly exploitative behind the scenes while smut is fiction and doesn't hurt anyone. But that logic falls apart when it comes to amateur porn, hentai etc which are still treated as trashy. Not to mention the common defense that smut "requires imagination"/is "more artistic" or whatever and that somehow makes it morally better?? Boy…

The fact that their main and only concern about porn is that it might cause boys to become misogynistic is concerning in itself. Learning the difference between porn and real life is a sex ed issue, not a political one.

Does porn do that tho?? I don't watch straight porn but my impression of it is that it exclusively focuses on the woman and how hot she is, while the man is completely ignored

Some excerpts of her racism and misandry towards black men (I believe from a book called It's a Dick Thing): Overall the facts reveal that black males are more violent than ever before in this nation. And they are more likely to be violent toward another black person whom they deem less powerful. Much black male violence is directed toward females. Sexism and the assumption of the male right to dominate serves as the catalyst for this violence. Precisely because black males have suffered and do …

Not the OP but I've read some very misandrist, racist and even predatory things about her (see examples below, and ironically yes, she's racist against black men despite being black herself). I think many people don't know about her earlier works, they only know her from that one famous quote from The Will to Change that makes her sound reasonable. E: ok nevermind I can't attach images, fuck reddit. I'll just paste the quotes later. In the meantime enjoy this article about her attitude towards "…

Feminists can (and probably do) use the same argument to justify not calling out misandry. So I guess we should just be stuck in a cycle of hating and allowing hate towards the opposite gender?? And calling out such hate can only ever be done in reciprocation, never out of personal principle?? The fuck would egalitarianism even mean then?? How do you expect social progress to be made if your "egalitarianism" is only reactive??

I'll add that advocating a "focus on academic discussion" is more a confession of disorientation on your part. The sub isn't an academic exercise, and even those w self-taught literacy can effectively avoid the pitfalls of Trumpism and contemporary Left errors. It's quite telling that you think "talking about the right" means nothing but sensational outrage and callout posts against Trump. There's so much more to talk about here that's relevant to men. Shouldn't we talk about the manosphere, how the right wing gave rise to it and why it's just as bad for men as feminism?? How about the right's role in perpetuating misandrist propaganda or deteriorating gender relations?? Or how partisan issues such as economics, racism etc affect men?? Are these someho…

The entire mainstream institutional framework and the rest of this site is specifically designed to fight the right. Lol. Tell me you haven't been paying attention without telling me. Have you ever heard of the words "psyop", "ragebait" and "propaganda"? You should brush up on those now because they're more relevant than ever. So there’s no point in beating a dead horse. No, it's not a dead horse at all. It's absolutely worth beating, just look at the world around us. We don't live in the 2010s when pop feminism and identity politics were the dominant political forces anymore. We live in 2025, Trump is in power and countries all over the world are following in his footsteps and becoming more conservative. Feminism is slowly but surely falling out of favor and the left is becoming increasingly fractured. So why on eart…

I think most people completely misunderstand the problem when they talk about this tbh. A lot of people will blame toxic masculinity, the fear of looking "weak" etc but that's not and has never been a factor in why I or any of my male friends don't like going to the doctor. Maybe it's applicable to some conservative boomer men, but it's definitely way overstated and too often used as yet another misandrist talking point. As for the real reasons why I don't like seeing the doctor, it's mostly bec…

Of course. Conservatives are the ones who're big into the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mindset. They barely consider disabled people (or anyone needy in general) as human and are vocally in favor of slashing welfare and social programs just to get back at these groups. As corrupt as leftist politicians may be, I don't think any of them would stoop to that level.

Well in any case, it wasn't our mistake. It was one of his own who killed him. I think the real mistake is leftists quibbling over whether he counts as a nazi or how justified it is to mock his death. Don't we have better things to do here, like countering the propaganda that the shooter was trans and black or some shit??

I think even if you do away with measures of income, education level etc and instead measure quality of life and personal satisfaction, men would probably still be behind women thanks to the massive homeless and/or unemployed male population, skyrocketing rates of suicidal depression, lack of help from social services etc.

Dude, this isn't really a problem with you or women, it's a problem with your mindset. And no, I don't mean that as in "just be confident, bro", I mean you're looking at this entirely the wrong way. You need to accept 2 truths: This is your insecurity talking. None of what you said is an accurate reflection of reality. How do you know women hate you? Do you have actual proof or is it just a "feeling"? And even if they do hate you, how do you know it's because of your gender or all the bad things…

You're missing the point. Someone being a piece of shit doesn't give anyone a free pass to use body shaming jokes against them. It doesn't hurt them, especially if they're rich and powerful and will never know or care what you think. All it does is hurt innocent people who happen to share the traits being made fun of, and reinforce the idea that big dick/tall/attractive = good person. This is where a good half of male insecurities come from and yet nobody recognizes this public shaming tactic fo…

In women, insecurity is perfectly normal and expected. In men it's seen as not just a weakness, but a moral failing. As for why this is, I don't know. But it's the reason why people instinctively go below the belt when insulting a man they don't like, because few things are more universally reprehensible than being an immoral person. In fact, small dick jokes, short jokes etc are practically shorthand for "this guy is an evil monster". There's a reason these jokes are used most against people li…

Despite all the lip service, this "positive masculinity" thing isn't some tool to help men break free from male gender roles, it's just another rigid set of gender roles society (and especially women) are forcing us into for their own benefit. For women, it's so that they can feel less threatened, and for society, it's to silence disenfranchised men so that they stop causing trouble. That's why the truly empowering thing to do is to say no. Yknow how feminism tells women to "decenter" men and be…

I can't give you any dating or self-esteem advice, but YSK: 1) You didn't miss out on shit. In fact, I'd say you were fortunate to avoid dating these girls. If anything was taken from you, it was the chance to be emotionally abused by a bad gf. See it for what it is: a bullet dodged. 2) I don't think the issue was that you were creepy at all. I don't care if feminists don't want to help men. That's fine, technically it's not their duty to do so. But the least they could do is stop being a petty obstacle, and even then it's apparently too much to ask.
