Erin Pizzey started talking about this decades ago and was vilified by Feminists.

I don't believe the the so-called pay gap is true anyway. You are correct. Here are a few relevant links, taken from this archived webpage https://www.forbes.com/sites/realspin/2012/04/16/its-time-that-we-end-the-equal-pay-myth/?sh=3903a2281408 https://www.businessinsider.com/actually-the-gender-pay-gap-is-just-a-myth-2011-3?op=1 https://www.huffpost.com/entry/wage-gap_b_2073804

She seems, nice... /S So, she's an Alpha Female. What exactly, does that mean? Aren't Alphas supposed to be head of the pack/household/group, effectively leading the way to better? (whatever the general meaning of better is?) Aren't Alphas expected to provide for the rest of the pack/household/group? Aren't Alphas the protectors that stand between their pack/household/group and the rest of the world? She seems to misunderstand what being "Alpha" means.

Last place I worked was Unionized. A Woman, with the same qualification level made the same amount as any Man doing the same job. The only difference in pay came down to which person worked more overtime. If they worked in Admin or Management, there was a completely different system with salary bands, but they weren't out in the field in all conditions doing physical work.

There are some Women that want to be in a relationship with Men. There are also some Women that don't want to be in a relationship with Men. We already know that in the 18-30 demographic, 80% of males are "incels". You may/may not be correct with this figure, I don't know. However, maybe they are just not interested or too afraid to bother with their Female peers because of the KAM, MeToo, Believe all Women, etc... rhetoric that are like flying monkeys circling. It's wise to stay indoors during …

I haven't disagreed with any of that. My original comment was that it may be in the best interests of the Child that he stay with the adoptive Parents. That's what I'm sticking with. You are the one that posted these two comments; You're an idiot the adoptive parents will f*** the kid up more than the kid being raised by his actual father eventually they're going to have to tell the kid that it's adopted and then the kids going to find out the story and he's going to hate them for life you're so…

Go read the article and answer your own questions. There is a lot wrong with the situation, and as I said the first time, it may be in the best interests of the Child to remain with the adoptive Parents.
/r/MensRights29/08/21 07:17 PM

You do know that there are ways and means in place where Mothers can abandon children without repercussion? AFIK - These were put in place to avoid the situation where Women might give birth and then walk away, leaving the child/ren to die? This way, there is a better chance for survival. We, (you and I) have no idea of what the adoptive Parents knew about the Child's background. I think it's most likely they were only told he had been surrendered under Michigan’s Safe Delivery of Newborns Law. …

I've already given the reasoning for my statements, and I'll stand by them. The child has bonded with the adoptive Parents. Is it possible to break that bond without harming him psychologically in the long term? I don't think we fully know. there's plenty of studies that show the children don't remember hardly anything if at all from that age. I don't know, you could be correct about this. I'm pretty sure there is a difference between a memory and an innate bond. The father can properly care and…

Yes, the child was literally stolen from the Father. No amount of legal wrangling will ever change that fact. I'll differ on your belief that it would be less harmful to take this three year old child out of the arms of the adoptive parents and hand him over to his birth Father. He has formed a child/parent bond with this couple. He has no idea of the controversy that surrounds his life. I do not believe that taking him out of that situation, and placing him in the care of his Father will result…

First off, Thank You for setting aside the anger from your previous replies. Rational discussions, even if they are in disagreement, are always better. The first sentence from my original comment was; I don't like to say this, however, it just may be in the best interests of the child to stay with the adoptive parents. I'm still advocating for the best interest of the Child, period. Legally, the Father should prevail. Is it still in the best interests of the Child?
/r/MensRights29/08/21 04:42 PM

Yep! You are correct in that the child in question is biologically his, and was stolen from him. Both are innocent victims. The adoptive Parents had no idea this child was stolen from the Father. They are innocent victims. You are also correct in saying that there are plenty of other children that need caring and loving homes that are neither infants or stolen. That is not part of the discussion. It is unfortunate, that you and a few others that have cared to respond to my original comment, seem…

You seem determined to not read any of what I have written with regard to this situation. I'm only referring to this particular situation, not some random scenario you made up to try and bolster your argument. I'm only saying what I believe would be the best possible outcome for the sake of this Child. It still sucks all round for the Father and adoptive Parents.

You're a scumbag if you think the child belongs with the adoptive parents and not the dad who never wanted the child given away. You are very naive if you think that taking a three year old away from the adoptive parents, and handing him over to his "real Father" isn't going to create a lot of chaos. Ideally, this should never have happened, and it's a tragedy of enormous proportions. This woman is a garbage toxic person and deserves jail so does the Catholic Church whoever helps set this s*** u…

they're going to have to tell the kid that it's he's adopted Yes, they should tell him that he was adopted. There is no shame in that. He should also be told the entire story behind it as he matures so he learns the truth. He needs to understand that he was stolen (not abandoned) from his Father, and that he was adopted by a loving and caring family that wanted to give him a good life. They didn't know anything about the backstory, and are not at fault. The adoptive parents and Father, as the re…

The Child's best interests. There are three innocent parties involved in this debacle, and the child is the only one that doesn't know anything about what happened. If you cared to read and understand my original comment, I stated the child should be told the story when he has matured enough to understand what happened. He's three, and hasn't the capacity to think about this rationally. Children have what they refer to as; "Magical Thinking", where they can take in information, process it throug…

Downvote all you want, I will still sleep at night knowing I've said the right thing for the child. (THE most important part of this sad saga) It sure does suck for the Father. Through no fault of his own, he was screwed over by a dysfunctional family court/adoption system. I did not say the Father doesn't deserve to get his child back, that is something you inferred. He, in fact, does deserve to have his Son back. Whose best interests would be served in removing a three-year old child from the …

I don't like to say this, however, it just may be in the best interests of the child to stay with the adoptive parents. A three year old is not capable of processing the idea that it was stolen from their Father and given to another family. To take the child away from the only family it knows would be too traumatizing. IMHO - The Father should stay in contact with the family, and as the child matures be introduced into his life by first telling the story of his adoption. Then, the Father can be …

Yes, I did read that. That was not the question I asked. Although her light sentence is appalling, I'm more concerned with her Co-workers Husband than anyone else. Her co-worker would be easily able to refute the lies because she has a track record her Employers can easily follow. As a circumcised later in life Man, I can say it does have affect on you. I don't remember at what age I could retract my foreskin, but it was before puberty. Every person is different. One of the biggest "reasoning and justification" arguments in support of circumcision was to discourage masturbation. Removing the foreskin from infants leads to de-sensitizing of the glans as a result of it being keratinized. Article here I've made mention of my situation before, where circumcision was the only …

As seen in the interview, she is not going to accept accountability and it's not going to be applied either. I might have mis-read the original story about this, but I thought Jo Wallace was the person responsible for all of this happening? She was brought on board, made this outrageous decision and was supported by the C-Suite that probably felt compelled to do so in order to maintain the "Equality" appearance, avoid the controversy of tossing her out the door instead of two privileged straight white guys and protect their bonus payments. Universities Schools are supposed to be places where Students are taught to think, not be indoctrinated with the "ideas of the moment". We would still be stuck in a Flat-Earthcentric Universe and struggling with a lever/fulcrum mechanics otherwise. Edited because it was pointed out that Eton is a High School, not a University. I hope they get shut down for good. If they want the same deal, ask for the current contract to be dissolved and re-negotiate to the same as the Men's team. I'm sure they won't like that either when they realize that it's pay for play and no benefits.

Just MHO... This all came about when they (US Women's Soccer Team) realized that, after winning their World Cup last year, they would have made more money if they had been paid under the terms of the contract the Men's Soccer Team agreed to. Now, they feel entitled to retroactively alter the agreement in their favour. The SCOTUS should (if it already hasn't done so) refuse to hear any further appeals on the matter.

They aren't depressing to me, however, I do consider them to be a very sad statement on the current state of Women. It's wrong to hate yourself simply for being Male. It can be difficult to feel good about yourself in the face of relentless attacks, but you have to stand up and be unapologetic about it. There was a time when being overweight was considered desirable because it meant you had access to enough abundance (read, wealthy) that you could be overweight. Today, nearly everybody has easy access to food, and being overweight most likely indicates a lack self-discipline.

Why do we even care? What, exactly, is Misogynistic about choosing to not watch a show? Would it be the fault of the Patriarchy if, at some point, Portia decides she no longer wishes to be married to Ellen? The only thing we need to do is ignore her. It's publicity that keeps her relevant.

What I have found in working with Men and Women throughout my working life is that none of the diversity or affirmative action practices matter, and no amount of insisting that it does will change the, inevitable, bad outcome. Women need to stop thinking that they can do it all. That is only one part of the issue. Another is the amount of support (emotional and monetary) given to single Women that choose to become Single Mothers. I know of one... Even though it has been some 25ish years since we've had any contact with this Woman, it still leaves a bad taste. Unfortunately, that study is as dry as a popcorn fart. I'm not prepared to wade through it. I do not believe that Men, as a group, are ever intimidated by a highly educated Woman. From the article; These stereotypes are embodied in archetypal fictional characters such as Svengali, Don Juan, and Lothario—depicting single men as a corruptive presence lurking in the shadows of civilized society. Much better terms to be seen as than Incel, Loser or Creep, even though we're still being demonized. I didn't see any reference as to whether this is affecting a particular group of Men or all Men. Bear in mind that this is the Court system in Australia that she will be dealing with. And, from what I've seen, the evidence has been provided through the recent Depp/Heard case and is something from her Lawyer (unprotected by Attorney/Client privilege) which would give it much more weight. The outcome could be a major linchpin in starting the (in my eyes, the inevitable) downfall of her personally, and professionally.

Everybody has a heart, and in 99.9% of cases, in the same location. Women and Men have breast tissue. Generally, nobody really cares about breast tissue on Men, and they most certainly don't care to look at breast tissue on Men. It's the polar opposite for Women. Only XY Men have a prostate gland, and it isn't visible. That, I believe, is one of the factors in why Prostate Cancer and Research has less funding. Which is the point I was trying to make in my original comment.

Some interesting debates going on with regard to the subject of Breast versus Prostate Cancer research funding. I think some of the differential in focus between the two is based on optics. I don't know if it's so much a case of "expected" versus Women don't want to do the job, so it is left to be filled by Men. The majority of those jobs are rough, dirty and dangerous. Why aren't they blaming Gloria Steinem and her crew for all the "truths" they told Women? A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle. Fish have never needed a bicycle. Mankind has built them ladders to help overcome obstacles. "You can have it all, Baby!" Was a catch phrase carelessly thrown out to Women, telling them that everything was possible. Too bad no one ever told them about the cost of everything.

Uncle A should have been given Sainthood for raising 7 kids with her, as she had issues with depression and wasn't the most aware person you could know. She relied on him for everything. There was a family they knew that had experienced a very recent death. Aunt D was on the phone with one of the family members, and told them; If there is anything you need, let me know and I'll send A right over..…

IMO - The paedo hunter group should also be held accountable for their part. They are neither LE nor credentialed Journalists, and should not be allowed to act as such. The fact they live broadcast the incident, and sought to "expose" them as part of their sting operation based on false information might open them up to liability. Making people aware of convicted sex offenders in their neighbourhood is something most would stand behind. The actions of this group, in this instance, was far beyond…

Basic necessities certainly do not cost that much. I believe they justify the amount by saying the child(ren) would enjoy a more lavish lifestyle if the Parents had remained together, so a divorce should not change that as it is not their fault. It still comes back to there needing to be more accountability throughout the Family Law system.

Although it is a contentious issue, we have to remember that Children aren't going to provide their own basic necessities, so it is up to the Adults involved. That said, there also needs to be much more accountability within the Family Law system and its participants.

Yes it is, it forces men to subsidise the mother, even if he can't afford it. Spousal support is the subsidy the Mother receives, and that is a different topic. It takes two people to create a child. If the parents aren't together, the child still has needs that must be met. The Adults are rightfully expected to meet those needs. What is unfair, would be the way the system and rules are biased against the Father, and heavily skewed towards the Mother.
/r/MensRights18/12/20 11:35 PM

Child support is not an unfair concept, and it should be applied equally and fairly. It's the rules of the system, and how they are enforced that is the issue. Fathers need better protections in custody cases, which may even mean Mothers being held accountable for actions which interfere with the Fathers rights to access.

If you can't see fit to treat me like I matter for the other 364 days, Please don't go making a big show of pretending for just one. If you can't be aware of the issues for more than just one day then it's really of no help. I would gladly forego even recognizing the day, IF, the issues were at least acknowledged throughout the year. That's just how I feel about it. Others may, or may not share my thoughts.

As much as I appreciate the sentiment behind having an International Men's Day, I'll pass. If you can't see fit to treat me like I matter for the other 364 days, Please don't go making a big show of pretending for just one. I'm not looking for ticker-tape parades or trophies. A simple nod of the head, a genuine smile or a quiet Thank you is more than enough. If you can't bring yourself to do any of those, at least refrain from being critical for what I have done to make your life better.

Female breasts have been important to our survival as a species for aeons, so I would have to disagree with your assertion that they're not a necessary organ. With modern substitutes readily available, you might argue that they aren't as needed as they have always been. There are counter arguments that they provide vital anti-bodies to otherwise defenseless infants as well as the bonding experience. Bottle feeding is the result of a marketing campaign. It really isn't better than breastfeeding, …

Look at it from this viewpoint, maybe you'll understand why Women and breast cancer get more funding and visibility. Most everyone I've ever met likes a woman's breasts. I know I do. They're attractive and useful as well as fun to play with. They make up a lot of a woman's identity because they're visible. Society pays a lot of attention to breasts, some of it is positive some isn't. We're obsessed with them and love to enhance them in many different ways. It's because of this, we're hyper-aware…

My sentiment as well. Allow them to continue filming, go into post production and then let it die in theaters and merchandise sales. AH will have money should JD (hopefully) win his suit against her, and the Studio will have lost twice. After that, AH should become too toxic for any other roles to be offered, and existing will be withdrawn. Ideally, she will be reduced to a U-lister (as in unemployable) and broke.

Without knowing her, it's a tough call for me to make. Some women are comfortable touching others they feel relaxed with. Toss out a flag by telling her that you have a childhood trauma that is triggered by unexpected touches. Maybe even flinch. This should send enough of a message that she will stop. I made this suggestion on a different post with the same subject. My thoughts are: Let them continue to film the project, get it into post-production and then make sure it dies in the theaters and in merchandise sales. This will cost them significantly more than if they outright fired AH and replaced her, as the fanbase might forgive them. If done the way I suggest, then AH will have money in the bank to pay JD should he win his lawsuit against her. Losing would also force the hand of any compan…

Wouldn't it be a more costly lesson to the Producers if they are allowed to proceed with the filming and post-production work, only to let it die in the theaters and suffer low sales of DVD and Digital copies? If they boot AH and re-cast the role, there is a greater chance they will recover their costs as the fanbase may forgive them. Instead, let them pay AH so JD has something to collect should he win his suit. Then they will lose twice.

13 year old male is asked for a kiss by a 19 year old female? Especially if she is attractive and has some celebrity standing with their peers. Of course he's going to say yes. Is it wrong? Again, yes. He's a minor, she is an adult. Although she is getting blowback for this, it's not the same intensity as we would see if the roles were reversed. I have recounted my story surrounding circumcision a few times before. I was intact until mid 30's, which would have been 1995-6ish. I developed Phimosis in my early 30's, and was referred to a Urologist. His only recommended option was circumcision. At that time, I told him I didn't consider that an option, and suffered for a few years. When I did return to the same Urologist, I was still presented with one option, and I took it because I was tired of the pain Phimosis causes. I will note this …

It's a offer, and may be withdrawn. As was suggested in the article, once given, there is nothing further the person making the gift can do. It would be better if he offered it as a loan, with both being responsible for repayment. If the future DIL refuses to agree with the terms, that would reveal more about her true intentions. As a loan, this would also give the Dad the option to gift the repaid money (maybe with interest) to the couple at a later date.

In any committed relationship involving dependents, there is always a compromise necessary to make it work. One spouse can't be stay-at-home unless the other is willing to put in more effort (ie: work more hours, out of town, etc) to support the entire family. Rape is a terrible crime. It happens to both sexes. It can be perpetrated by either sex, and can be directed at a same/opposite/other gendered person. I am going to say the effects on the victim are debilitating or devastating to varying degrees, and can be both physical and mental. Life is not about who has it harder/easier, it's about working together so no one suffers needlessly. We need to work together to understand why rape is happening, and what can be done to prevent it.

As u/AskingToFeminists points out, when you spend as much, or more, working time around a particular person than you would outside of the working environment, then it's highly possible to develop feelings. Some even talk about their "Work Wife or Work Husband" as a sort of testament to how much they value their working relationship and acknowledge the fact they spend so much time toget…

It's quite a dangerous argument. What argument? I hope this woman gets some help and maybe get on with her life. Now that her claims have been rejected, perhaps she will get some (apparently) much needed help. BTW - The insanity defense has already been used. It's not quite as successful as it was initially.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if Father's Day just disappeared. I would much rather you treat me as a human that you want in your life during the year than make a big splash for a single day. I do what I do to support my family. Even though my children are all adults, I still take the time and energy (and sometimes money) to help them if they need it. I also don't feel the need to be recognized for every little thing I do, and there is much to be done... I may be generalizing a bit when I say this…

Part of the problem (as I see it), lies in the fact that any large institution will have a dedicated team with the sole function of throwing up walls, laying land mines, digging trenches, etc. You may be 100% in the right, but their siege tactics are meant to wear you down until you no longer have the energy to fight. I feel this should also be heavily taken into consideration when assessing penalties.

Perfect! She's a keeper. I just had an early Father's Day present of a pedicure from my Wife. It's greatly appreciated, however, I try to nicely reiterate that I am not her Father, and she doesn't need to do that. Look at this from a different perspective, and see if the situation is altered. If it was the Wife who was in Hospital, dying from Coronavirus, would Piers Morgan be writing a personal piece about how this is affecting the Husband? Or, would the article remain essentially unchanged and discuss only how it is affecting the Wife?

The tragedy is that the Council (and it's members) waited for Ms. Ford to cancel her application for a grant that should never have been approved. The controversial tweet mentioned is not unique, but part of a broader pattern of hate speech directed at Men. Nope, that's a bad thing to hope for. Wishing death on her brings you down to her level of inhumanity, and I believe that's a place not many of us really want to go. I believe it would be far better to wish that she be ignored. She can spout off all the hateful things she wants, but if no one listens or responds then she loses whatever power we give her. All the social media platforms could cancel her accounts, but that's less of an ego blow than no one listening. It also takes away any argument…

My late FIL went into the coal mines in Cape Breton when he was 13. Those were the days before mechanized mining. If your partner was sick, they would hang a red tag next to their mining helmet so everyone knew they weren't there, and you were sent down alone. The rule was that if you didn't load everything you shot down from the coal face, you weren't paid for the day. This was hand loading by shovel. I don't think there's much demand for 30 year old foreskins. You could be correct. It's just a speculation on my part a few decades after the event. The sad thing is that even if surgery was warranted, z-plasty to loosen the foreskin without removing it would have been a much better option. Again, you are most likely correct. I have seen a woman driving the truck that does the paper recycling pick-up in my city. They use the large wheelie bins, and there is a grab arm on the truck, so it really doesn't matter which gender does it, so long as they are a capable driver. However, as most of the other commenters are pointing out, it's not often you would see a woman on the back-end of a garbage truck lifting cans or bags. Unless I've read it wrong, the foreskin IS attached to the glans and should not forcibly be made to retract until at least 2-3 years old. It is not uncommon for it to be fully retractable until puberty or a bit later. Of course, if you whack it off when the child is a few days old, they'll never know the difference. That makes it OK.

I'm sorry, you could not be more wrong about this. The choice to circumcise is that of the parents and their doctors. A decision that is made on behalf of their infant, who knows nothing about the implications of it. This is NOT a life-saving procedure, however, it is a life altering one. There is a significant difference. Comparing circumcision to female genital mutilation is extreme and the two are not comparable. Almost... The male glans is roughly equivalent to the female clitoris. Circumcis…

OK, I'll answer that one. I think the comments overlapped, causing confusion. I'll apologize for that. No, murder should not be legalized. I am in favour of allowing assisted end-of-life for those who are suffering without a hope of recovery or unmanageable pain. We allow that for pets. Why shouldn't it be allowed for humans?

Those are questions that I cannot begin to fully answer. Why do you have this arbitrary distinction for this one single issue? If you are asking me that question personally, I have to state that I'm against MGM, FGM for Infants and ear trimming and tail docking for pets unless it is medically necessary. If an adult human wished to have MGM or FGM performed, whack away at it. For pets, I would still say it should only be done if medically necessary. I put spay/neuter for pets into a different cat…

Funny thing is, they've outlawed FGM in Western Society because it involves only those having XX chromosomes. It's probably still available to those parents that want it via an underground network. It would be much the same as getting an abortion before they were declared legal. If you knew the right people you could get one. Sometimes the cost was extreme. I don't think it really matters what is declared illegal, there seems to always be a way to circumvent it. Money seems to be the biggest fac…

I get ya on that! If you were to ask a dog if you have their permission to clip their ears, they have absolutely no idea of what you're asking, so therefore cannot consent. However, if Mom or Dad say it's OK to circumcise their male child without anesthesia, (or, Mom says it's OK and Dad objects or isn't consulted because Mothers know best) then it's a done deal. The law allows parents to consent on the behalf of the child. I do believe there was a time period where the child was routinely circu…

it has been decided that a dog cannot voice it's objection to ear clipping/tail docking, so laws need to be enacted. A parent (generally a Mother) speaks on behalf of their child, giving the necessary permission.

You're falling off-track. My original comment was in reply to this; Unless it's for medical reasons, you gotta be a moron to take a vasectomy. If you don't ever want to be a Father, a vasectomy, or never have sexual relations with a woman, are currently the only reliable options we have. We don't have an effective oral contraception that will take away all risk of impregnating a woman.

The saddest part of this (IMHO) is segregating wouldn't be in the best interest of the program itself. You are trying to teach or expand upon a skill that a group has already shown an interest in, or aptitude for. Why not be inclusive of the greatest diversity possible? Everyone has something different to bring to the table. To exclude one group (no matter how you try to categorize it) means you've eliminated a lot of potential for no good reason. AFIK - They've pretty much debunked the cellphones causing fires myth. Snopes on the subject What they DO know is that more fires started while pumping gasoline are a result of a static discharge. They also know that Women, more often than Men, are likely to start pumping and then get back into their vehicle. This can lead to a build-up of static electricity that gets discharged when you touch the vehicle, and ignites the fuel vapours.

If a man makes a decision to not become a Father, he should be able to use a male contraceptive, or vasectomy. I'm Canadian, and we use their style of Law as we were once a Colony of the British Empire. I do believe "life" did mean that literally at some point in time. The only way you left prison was in a box. The modern life term is generally 25 years, and can have provision for time already served in pre-trial detention, and early release on parole. (freedom under subjects) INAL - A real Lawyer can chime in with corrections if needed!

"Life" could be a 25 year term, and with good behaviour plus pre-trial credits (a 2 for 1 deal), you could be out in 15 or less. At least this Judge stipulated the accused spend 30 years behind bars. He should never see daylight again.

Here's my take on it all. I could be right, I could be wrong... Prior to the turn of the century (1900's) you had mostly two groups. The educated, and everyone else. The educated enjoyed a better lifestyle than everyone else, and they looked down, while everyone else looked up. The educated decided what needed to be done, and everyone else did it. Everyone else eventually decided they were tired of a life of grunt, sweat and tears, all for the educated, with little gain for themselves. The first…

Phimosis For which, I learned much later, that treatment options other than circumcision are available. At the time of diagnosis, I don't even recall if the Urologist actually told me the name of the condition, and only offered circumcision. I believe some of that is due to women not negotiating their wage the same as a man would, which can result in underselling themselves. An employer is not going to tell you the last guy was making more for the same job title/duties. I worked beside women in a trades-based industry. We made the same wage because that was the negotiated rates in the Union contract. If one of us worked more hours, or trained for a higher rate paying job, then that person earned more. I don't think we're angry that #MeToo ever happened. We just don't want to be accused for something we didn't do because of it. The easiest way to prevent being accused of anything untoward against a woman, is to avoid situations that provide that opportunity. You can look at it from a ROI point of view. We can mentor a female co-worker, passing along experience and knowledge to further her career, and although it may not result in a personal gain per-se, the chance of being accused of something…

If we stopped paying attention to women that want/need to be noticed by wearing skimpy clothing they would eventually give up. It's only by giving them what they're seeking that causes them to be the slightest bit relevant. I don't anticipate men will stop taking risks to save others any time soon, even if they aren't always recognized for it.

Un-diagnosed, or un-treated thyroid issues can lead to being severely underweight or obesity. Hyperthyroidism is an overactive gland, busily pumping out hormones which may result in a very high metabolism. It's difficult to sleep, regulate body temperature and weight loss is common. I was in that situation, with about 3X the normal being produced, and lost in the range of 40 - 50 pounds. Hypothyroidism is an under-active gland that fails to produce sufficient quantities of hormones that are nece…

Taken from the article; In her analysis “Women and Genocide in Rwanda,” the former Rwandan politician Aloysia Inyumba stated that “The genocide in Rwanda is a far-reaching tragedy that has taken a particularly hard toll on women. They now comprise 70 percent of the population, since the genocide chiefly exterminated the male population.” Haven't we seen claims by some feminists that the male population should be reduced to no more than 10%?

There are a lot of other factors that go into retirement ages, some of which are personal. Some institutions have a formula where age + years of service =/> Specified Number will allow you to retire with a full pension. Some places will allow you to retire before age 65, but subject to a reduction in monthly pension benefits. For example; Retire at 60 will mean a pension of 75% of whatever you would be eligible for at age 65. Government Pensions (in this instance, Canada) will allow payment to b…

Some of that "sick building syndrome" has to do with the push for energy conservation. One building I worked in was constructed in the 80's (I believe) and only used 15% make-up air in their HVAC system. It does lower costs to heat and cool, but with 85% recycled air you either have to install a very good filtration system and maintain it (that alone probably negates the intended cost savings), or you are just moving airborne pathogens around in the building.

The only reason for putting the Daughter's name on the account would be to prevent it from being put into the Father's estate should he die before he is ready to give it to her. He shouldn't tell the Daughter about the account either, and it should be set up to remain in-trust until she reaches a prescribed age of his choosing.

Dad should take the monthly difference and put it into a savings account set up with only his and Daughter's name, and don't tell Mom about it. Assuming the Daughter is an infant ($262 X 12) X 18 = $56,592 This would be just the principle, interest should bump it up to at least $60K It would be a nice present that goes directly to his Daughter. I don't know how the tax laws work in the US, so I would also suggest he consult a specialist so this does not become a huge liability to his Daughter.

Yep, it is! Men working as a certified trade aren't considered as having a degree. A Doctor, Engineer, Lawyer or Accountant go to College or University to earn a degree. Power Engineers, Electricians, Carpenters, Plumbers etc go through a combination of on-the-job and trade school programs to become Red Seal Journeymen (or, Journeypersons for the PC crowd). What I think would benefit Degree Careers is exposure to field work as a prerequisite. Sometimes, there is conflict between design/build/ope…

Why bother to get a degree when you're just as likely to make a stable living without going into massive debt? We do need a certain number of degree careers (ie: Engineers or Doctors) in the workforce, but far more qualified trades are required to complete their initial work.

If you read the fine print... Looks to me like the filter is not included in the price, so you're actually seeing a price for draining and adding up to 5 quarts of oil + the car wash on a basic vehicle. Unfortunately, the circles cover up part of the print, but it looks like the price changes without any extras, so you get 5 quarts of regular oil, and up-charge on all cartridge filters no matter what price you pick.

Creepy has so many definitions, each determined by the person (or others around them), that assumes they are being creeped. Maybe if every man that has something to give (money or time) chose to donate to exclusively to men's causes, then we might not face funding issues again. Of course, this would have to be entirely private run by men, for men because the chance of qualifying for Government funding is low. I'm sure there would be difficulties, challenges and backlash in setting up and running a (Charity, Society, Foundation) that did not involve women. It might be in the best interest of everyone if a Men's Shed C…

Every rescue operation has Ops and Logistics. We see the Ops because they are at the front lines. We forget about the Logistics side because they aren't. Yes, most often we'll see Men at the front, but if they don't have good support, incident of failure increases. I don't care if a woman is supporting me by making sandwiches or arranging equipment and supplies so long as it's there when needed. You can be held to a legally binding contract by living together as a couple for a pre-determined time. Children also legally bind you to someone, and you can be made responsible for children that are not your own if you have shown as taking care of them. What needs to happen is Governments taking a step back and look at what they are doing to men and their families with current laws and policies.

I believe it would be better to have someone really knowledgeable in exactly what information gets embedded into a photo and how it can be used to link back to the poster to teach this kind of program. Exactly what rabbit hole are you going down? Let's go back to my original comment where I suggested that it would be far better to teach them to not send "sexy" photos. Children, quite simply, do not have the maturity to understand exactly what goes on in the background of apps and the internet, and what information is being made available. You mean like giving them an education on the consequences of sex, but not telling them how to do it safely? That's not worked out so well historically. Unle…

If we keep giving them the tools to unknowingly self harm without them understanding, then we as adults have failed them. AFAIK - The needle exchange programs are more to lessen the load on our healthcare systems by preventing the spread of disease through re-use of needles between addicts. Not so much telling them not to, as it is informing them of the consequences of doing it. I don't think the average adult understands how much information is freely made available when you use apps. Wouldn't it be far better to teach them to just don't do it? Stuff on the internet doesn't just go away, and embedded information in photos can be linked to personal identifiers. It's not safe.

It is customary to pay for the date.. So fine, I will do that... I've been guilty of this. We need this attitude to change . If women want to be independent, then there should be NO expectation of one person (generally the male) footing the entire bill on a first date. First dates are an opportunity for both to see if there is a potential of a second or subsequent dates. It would also eliminate the complaints of "expectations".

You are correct. From what I understand after reading quite a bit of the filing, it does seem that anyone expressing a Conservative viewpoint was more often vilified, and those that criticized them received praise.

I read a different post that had a link to the class action document filed in court. I did not read the entire document, but managed to work my way through a fair portion of it. Obviously IANAL, and you should read the document yourself. And, because IANAL, my interpretation may not be the same as someone more familiar with legal documents. Lots of legalese terminology as would be expected, but it also included multiple screen shots of responses from Google managers and executives that clearly s…

FTFY I've said it before; They're supposed to places of higher learning, but I've yet to see any sign of it. Ah, yes... The ole' Naughty Nurse sponge bath scene. I do understand what you're saying though. There are some aspects of modern life still firmly rooted in medieval thinking. Say Thanks to your Mom, because Nurses really do rock :)

I remember reading a story of a young woman that was interning with a Law Firm, and had been told to "dress professionally". When she arrived one of the women told her she shouldn't have dressed for THAT profession...

I'll do my giving to related charities. I've heard anecdotal stories of people gaming the systems, but I believe it's far more likely that my donation will get to more that truly need it. We are even more willing to directly help someone we know that needs a leg up.

We already have the Fool in Ottawa. I don't think there is much genuine about him, except maybe his appalling stupidity. "The budget will balance itself." I don't think it's possible to smoke enough marijuana to have that make sense.

I'm only responding to the stat about the greater percentage of female millionaires. And, if you re-read the question, all I'm asking is if those millionaire women created their wealth, or was it given to them? I am not addressing the male side of the statistic, but you could ask the same question. And, no, I don't see any more or less an issue if a male has wealth they didn't work for.

I didn't find out about this incident until long after graduation. I had a female teacher in High School (mid 50's, Greek). I heard through my younger Brother that a Hockey Jock was failing a course, and was able to get C- as a final grade. Wink, wink...

Was that wealth self generated? If not, what was the source? I don't see and issue with women having wealth so long as they have done the work. I don't think anyone would have an issue with it in that case. If Mum was the driver behind it, would it be considered empowerment, or something similar? Now, if Daddy was the key factor behind this wealth, then is it patriarchy, misogyny or oppression?

Unless it is a completely F/U'd relationship, their responsibilities are not equal, they are shared. Even in a solid and caring relationship, there will always be a time when one does more than the other, and as conditions change, so does the balance.

It is, and it isn't. I feel pretty sure in saying that being strongly encouraged to do something this adult at such a young age, it's going to be more than just a hobby. Pursuing arts, sports or STEM for that matter, can lead to a lifelong career. Some become famous, most don't. It can also take you in another direction, which again can be good, or not so good. Watch the BBC's, For the Love of Dogs. Paul O'Grady successfully performed in drag (as Lily Savage) for a number of years, and combined …

Problem is, there can be a lot of Drag Queens, but how many of them can really make a decent living at it? If this kid is encouraged to make this THE primary driving force in his life and doesn't make the cut, what is there to fall back on? Reminds me of Tom Cochran's song "Big League". At one point, the job I worked dictated I do some work in an apartment that was lived in by a Trans/Drag Queen (not sure which one, didn't ask). I didn't go snooping, but the items clearly on display were getting…

I work alongside women, and I'm in a high-risk industry. (Oil & Gas) We earn equal pay for equal qualification, and are expected to do the same work. I'll gladly help out a co-worker (male or female) unless they're lazy/useless, and I know they'll help me. However, this industry is not one often chosen by women. Like every other job, some are just not cut out for it, and men can have the same problem.

In our case, we work 72 hour cycles. 12 hour shifts, three days/three nights and six off. Overtime can be voluntary (chit system) or sometimes forced according to qualification and previous hours of OT worked. People that don't want to work a lot of OT usually don't have a lot to worry about because others will volunteer. Occasionally, the low hour person will be forced to do OT. It's not a bad system, and it generally works for both sexes. As a qualified Nurse, you can ask for the same conditio…

I work in the Oil & Gas industry and it's a Unionized site. It is a mostly male dominated industry, but the women I work beside make the same money IF they are equally qualified. All trainees start at the same pay/benefits/vacation allotment/hours of work. Each individual can progress to the next pay level by becoming qualified in their assigned units, or by time on the job. If you're able to qualify in less time than a co-worker hired at the same time, you will move up to the next pay level ahe…

Absolutely let them have their "man-free" festival. Men will not be involved in any way, shape or form in planning, logistics, set-up/tear-down, security, vending and cleaning, or artists on stage... NOTHING! 100% Women Have a strict "Tits and no dicks" policy at the gate, strip-search if necessary. It will either be a rousing success, or the most spectacular failure in the history of festivals. Patriarchy can't be held responsible for either if we're not involved, but I'm sure they will try.
