Dad should take the monthly difference and put it into a savings account set up with only his and Daughter's name, and don't tell Mom about it.

Assuming the Daughter is an infant ($262 X 12) X 18 = $56,592 This would be just the principle, interest should bump it up to at least $60K

It would be a nice present that goes directly to his Daughter.

I don't know how the tax laws work in the US, so I would also suggest he consult a specialist so this does not become a huge liability to his Daughter.

My ex wife after not paying anything for almost a decade started paying $95/month for my two kids. Eldest turned 18 last year and moved out. She wanted her payments reassessed. Did the chart thing with what she made is 2018. She now pays $165/month.

Lol. My step mom tried getting my dad to go to court, so he didn't have to pay 50month. My dad didn't, and actually gives my mom 100month. My parents were stupid af to get a divorce. If they had just taken a year break shit wouldn't of fallen down the rabbit hole. Taking breaks are better than a divorce lol.
