Divorce was official. Twenty minutes later I was at a music store looking at guitars. Finally got to focus on one of my hobbies I’d neglected for her.

You got this man. Take a deep breath. Inhale for 5 seconds, hold it for 5 seconds, release for 5 seconds, repeat until you feel better. I know it sucks. But you even said yourself, you’re better off.

Stay strong. Get in the gym, eat right, take care of yourself. Don’t date right away, date when you’re ready, you’ll know when you are. Remember, this is no longer love, it’s a business transaction. Get what’s rightfully yours, no less. Not sure if you have kids or not, but be present for them. They need you more than you know. Always, always, always, reach out when needed. This is a great community. I’m 2 years post divorce and this group of guys saved me multiple times.

Yeah. I blame him too. He still won’t show his face around me and they’re married. I still blame her mostly though.

They’re married. Got married two months after our divorce finalized. Didn’t tell her family. Her family found out anyways. They hate him. Don’t want to get to know him. From the sounds of it he’s a drunk who’s been in and out of rehab. She reaps what she sowed.

I have the same story man. I found out recently my ex wife has been secretly married to the dipshit she had an affair on me with for over a year now. Same as you, it stung a bit, but don’t let it get to you. If anything it shows you her true colors now. You keep focusing on you and making yourself happy. The rest will fall into place when it needs to.

Congrats man! I went through a very similar situation. I actually went out and looked at guitars at local music shops right after my decree was signed and filed. It’s liberating getting to do what you want to do on your own again. It feels great now, but it gets even better as time goes on. I’ve come to find my ex blowing up our lives was the best thing that could have happened to me. I’m sure you will find the same. Best of luck in your next adventures.

100% yes. I didn’t even want a divorce at first. For about a year and a half I fought it and held on hope. If I could go back in time I’d tell myself how much better life is on the other side. I may be without more money paying support. I may be living in a dump. I may be living in a town I can’t stand to be around my kid. But I’m happier without her in my every day life. She’s become a disaster from what I can tell. Even her own family gives me those vibes she’s a wreck. But it’s not my wreck a…

I was one of those who didn’t think my ex wife was capable of it. Well guess what she was doing. Turns out while we were married too. Keep your heads up fellas. As someone who’s been on the other side of things for a bit now, it gets better. It gets easier. Just give it time.

Hey man. I’ve been where you are. OP is right, it doesn’t matter what the fuck they did or how they did it. With that being said, I’ve been in your headspace before. It gets better. I can’t tell you when, or that once it gets better it stays better forever. You’ll have moments where it goes away, then it comes back, then it goes away again, to eventually come back. But one day you’ll wake up, and that’ll be it. You won’t think about it anymore. Stay strong, reach out if you need to. I’m always o…

I’ve been officially divorced for almost 6 months now. But realistically that marriage was dead for 2 years. She has an affair partner too. I still get dreams about it. Confronting her or him. Exposing it all. What happened. So for 2 years I’ve basically been dreaming of it. Just last night I had a dream about it. It gets better though. It’s less now than it was when it first started. Hang in there.

I appreciate the advice! Redirecting it is. I don’t make a big deal of it, usually I just shrug my shoulders and say ok. I know he doesn’t mean it. It’s just learned.

I wish I didn’t do the pick me dance so hard. I didn’t know what to do. I was distraught at first. Now, I don’t give a shit what she thinks. And I think that bothers her more. But now, I don’t even care if it bothers her. If I could have just not cared that much back then I feel like I’d be in a better spot.

Yes. File for adultery as well. That’s what I would do if I could do it all again. Obviously, consult with your attorney as well.

Same thought here man. Don’t get me wrong, I love my kid more than anything on this planet. It’s a love I can’t even put into words. But a weekend without a 2 year old running around taking up every ounce of attention I have is much needed as well haha.

Uno reverse card. Divorce her first. In all reality this sucks man and I hope things get better for you all. I really truly do. My advice is hold off on a child. You don’t want to bring a child into this. My wife told me she wanted a divorce very soon after our sons first birthday. Our divorce drug on for nearly two years. I now have a 3 year old who doesn’t have a true family, gets upset about it, and bounces between two homes all the time. It kills me to see him go through this. Take care of y…

I plan on selling all I can. Even if all it buys is a 6 pack that’s better than she ever was as a wife. Hell, even if it buys 1 tall boy, that one beer is worth more than she was as a wife.

Yes. Minus my son. She is a disaster. Financially, emotionally, and maturity wise. She drug me down financially and emotionally too. Never let me have a say in major life decisions or decisions regarding raising our son. I’m still dealing with the aftermath months later. So is our son. That isn’t to say I don’t have my problems and didn’t contribute anything negative to the relationship, because I did. We all have our faults. But none of this required blowing up my sons family. I had the same thing bro. I worked full time, cleaned the house, and had to clean the house per her before we paid for the cleaner to come clean the house. All the while she sat on Snapchat texting some lame ass “cowboy” and scrolling Facebook.

I have no idea why they think we can be friends after. It’s like, you threw away so much money, time, and most of all, my child’s future in a happy healthy home all because you felt a certain way in that moment. Why the hell would I want to be friends? You put this family through so much for your own personal gain.

This isn’t real, is it? This can’t be real. No way. This is one of you guys pulling one to get some laughs. If it’s not though, take your bank account, give him half. Everything you own and ever owned? Give him half. Do you have kids together? Give him several hundred dollars a month even if he doesn’t even need it. Sounds like you lived together. Give him several hundred more dollars or maybe a little over a thousand each month so he can maintain his lifestyle. Then, be sure to take any and all…

Happened in mine. She didn’t cook, clean, help raise the kids, or with the business. She went to her job and watched TikTok at home. Then got mad when I called her out on being lazy. Then went and had an affair. He can have her, all the dudes since seem to be straight up losers. One possible is her subordinate at work. I’ve thought about letting her HR know as a final parting gift.

I said the same thing to my ex wife. She now is paying me to keep a house she’s upside down on, and we’re all waiting to see if she can even afford to refinance the thing. If not she’ll probably have to sell it at a loss to get my name off it.

My ex did that shit all the time of making up stories and believing them as truth. Sorry you went through that shit man. It’s rough.

You nailed it. That’s exactly what they want. My ex made sure she had a kid and a nice chunk of my money for a down payment on a new house. Then calls it off because “I’m not happy.” Guess what, I’m miserable working 12 hours a day, coming home cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kid, paying the bills, and taking care of our business while you sit on your fatass and scroll through Facebook.

That line about one person putting themselves above the rest of us sums it up perfectly. My ex did the same shit. She even told me it was best for our child to grow up in two separate homes. Now he gets to see the constant rotating cast of men his mother brings around. She’s already started doing that and he’s only 2. He gets to see Dad who lost damn near everything struggle paycheck to paycheck, while his mother lives “her best life.” On second thought, maybe it’s a good thing and it will terri…

You’ll be fine man. I know it hurts now, but this too shall pass. I know it gets said on here a lot but it’s true, the gym is your best friend. It’ll make you look and feel better about yourself. My ex left me for a loser too. Guess what, he can have her. 4 days after our divorce finalized I got me the finest piece I’ve ever had. She was wild and liked and respected me way more than my ex. That’s ended pretty much now and I have no other prospects. I’ve filled my time with me things I want to do…

Did you marry my ex? This is literally how our go at mediation failed. Except mine said she wouldn’t pay me at all for the house lol. Set a court date. It set the tone we weren’t playing around anymore and were willing to let a judge decide her fate. Funny enough a week prior to court she gave me 50/50 custody and was willing to pay for the house.

Currently dealing with the rejection process. Specifically it was good for about a month. Talking back and forth, met up, had sex, genuinely had a good time with one another. Recently, she’s gotten super distance. It doesn’t bother me nearly as much as I thought it would. I thought the first rejection would be rough. My mindset after this divorce though is fuck it, you don’t want to be with me than that’s fine. I’ll move on. I’m not going to beg and dance for anyone’s attention ever again. Espec…

My ex mother in law and I are still relatively close. I would even consider her a friend. Her daughter and I’s divorce finalized this month. She asked me when she thinks her daughter and I can start being friendly to one another again. I laughed and said that’s going to be awhile. Her daughter ruined us all financially. Broke my kids family up before they even had a shot at knowing what it’s like to have one. All to go fuck some dipshit who ended up dumping her ass anyways from what I can tell. …

I hope so man. Right now this hurts. It’s felt like a gut punch all day and I’m having a hard time sleeping. The thing is, is when we dated I didn’t think she was a cheater at all. Literally no signs of it. Obviously I have my faults in this marriage failing too, idk man maybe she is right and it is me? I haven’t found anyone else. I also haven’t put myself out there. That and I had suspicions so a buddy of mine looked into it a year ago. He was married with kids then. Now he’s divorced. So I’m pretty sure they both blew up their families for this and it’s been going on for a year.

Already have been. This divorce has been dragging on for a year. This is just the first time it’s been confirmed what was going on. She always denied it. When all this kicked off I caught her snap chatting a dude messages. She said it was about him “buying” something from us. We did full disclosure, I saw where she had been buying hotel rooms and Air BNB’s. She was staying out all night. Allegedly going and meeting up with a friend, who turns out is his sister. We’ve tried that. She basically has no money and has fucked her finances so bad she can’t afford a buyout. I’m pushing to sell the home but it was just bought. So there really isn’t much equity in it. What is in it she isn’t recognizing as half. Her number is different and refuses to budge. We’re $5K off on a price, she’s willing to spend upwards of $10k in court fees to die on this hill to be told to sell the home anyways. I’m not sure if it’s worth fighting anymore just to lose more money.

Mines now posting selfies online with songs about how in love she is. That’s shit 15 year olds do. Whatever, I got better shit to do. Hitting the gym, going back to school, trying to figure out who I am and want to be again. It’s crazy how much one person can change who you are without you realizing it. This is all her idea. I even offered marriage counseling but she said “you waited too long.” Didn’t even know there were issues. I remember her saying how happy she was with our lives not even 6 months before all of it kicked off.
/r/Divorce_Men28/01/23 06:50 PM

Amen brother. I have suspicions that she’d been sleeping around. We’re a year into this divorce and it’s all because she’s too stubborn to accept the reality of the situation, that assets are to be split and not kept just because she “wants” them. I was going through my bank statements and it’s insane the amount of money she blew through. She wants half of that now, but there’s nothing left. She spent it. I’m just ready for this to end and move on with my life.

She works. I think her parents have given her money too though. But, she already owes them $30k so I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut her off. No on the temporary support either. My lawyer shut that down from the beginning. It was the typical married for 2 years and the “I’m not happy I want a divorce” card that we see so much on here.

Yeah, my STBXW literally told me that a marriage shouldn’t be hard. It should be the easiest thing we ever did. I guess her being a slob who only cared about her career, her wants and desires, and stomping all over mine so she could get hers had no impact on the failing marriage. Nope, it was all me.
