I'm sure there are some men out there who would be okay with this. However, in my experience, the 'provider' types want to make a child with their wife. You may have great luck looking for a single dad.

It depends. I have a really hard 10 month old and my house is a bit messier than usual and it's much more stressful trying to clean up. I think I would manage better if my baby were a bit easier or ever slept on his own. I think it's doable, but honestly the first year is insane, so don't beat yourself up if you need to change your expectations.

A man who befriends a sex worker he's done business with and then chooses her over his actual girlfriend isn't a high value man. It may be a good idea to cut your losses here and move on. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Women's sexuality can be warped too, we just typically have mower rates of porn addiction. You can check out r/pornfreewomen for stories. Also, what is your preoccupation with this question? You've asked the same thing in dozens of subs.

Porn addiction warps sexuality. Why do some people escalate to sissyfication porn, or bestiality, or worse? You should find it uncomfortable -- porn is a powerful drug. Definitely check out r/pornfree and r/antipornography -- you can find plenty of stories and links to research in those subs.

To break into tech writing, you pretty much just need a decent portfolio. You can build a portfolio without having actual job experience. Find and rewrite help articles online, document how to do your hobbies, create instructional videos. The field of tech writing is huge, and is leaning more towards 'technical communication' -- including videos and infographics. It's not all help manuals these days. I had great luck with Tinder, and ended up meeting my husband there. Tinder was the only app with a lot of people where I lived at the time, so it was a good choice. I think my success was due to the fact that first dates were always coffee dates, during the day. I vetted pretty well and didn't chase guys. They figured out pretty early on that I wasn't down for casual. I went on 50ish first dates, a dozen or so second dates, and a few third dates. I met my husband and we hit it off and we were m…

I never say no unless it'll make me uncomfortable for some reason, and even then I'll say 'later'. My husband is a gentle and loving man, and it works just fine for us. I never feel unsafe or taken advantage of. He seeks connection through sex. I seek connection through talking. He rarely turns me down for a conversation. If I were with a tyrant I could see how it might look like I'm a doormat. Sex is important to him, and it makes me happy to do it for him, even when I'm not initially in the mo…

I had laser on my upper lip. Only did a few sessions, but it really took care of the bulk of the 'witch hairs' I'd get. For me, it was well worth it, just for the reduction in coarser hairs. I still dermaplane at home to take care of the fuzz, but oh man it's wonderful not having coarse black hairs appear constantly. Keep in mind that some people aren't good candidates, but a technician can help you decide whether it's right for you or not.

It was super important to us. I think attitudes toward finances can make or break a couple, no matter how much money you bring in. I don't regret having those conversations, even though some made us feel very awkward and vulnerable.

My now-husband and I talked a lot about parenting hypotheticals. How many kids does he want? How would he like to raise his children? What is he most looking forward to about fatherhood. We also talked a lot about finances and attitude about that. It wasn't like a question and answer format -- these things came up in discussion naturally and we just kept talking about them and asking more questions.

It's great that you think so highly of yourself and your ability to age well, but you're a 29 year old divorcee looking to marry someone for resources. What's stopping a man with resources from marrying a 24 year old in your racial group, especially if she's got a better attitude/approach to the point of marriage? Wealthy men don't need to settle down with women -- they have their pick of the litter and marriage isn't a great proposition for most men like them. Non-wealthy men are also perfectly acceptable providers. You sound like someone who wants to get knocked up and trap a man solely for resources. Go hang out at femaledatingstrategy, they love cold-hearted, calculating women like you.

I RELISH in making things awkward with my combative relatives. One particular relative is extremely overbearing and things always get very awkward when I enforce my boundaries. It's honestly quite fun at this point. I'm unwilling to make myself uncomfortable to keep her comfortable and in control. I will say, it gets much easier with practice. It's hard to get out of an ingrained peace-keeping people-pleasing pattern.

He's got reason to be afraid you can't keep up -- you weren't able to keep up on the recent hikes. It sounds like you either need to suck it up and work on your fitness level or find someone else who isn't as passionate about fitness. If you don't want to be fit, that's totally fine and within your rights. He clearly cares about you if he's trying to nudge you back into being active like you were when you met. It's sounds like you changed, and you're not as compatible as you originally thought. If you were into fitness, or pretended you were into fitness when you met him, and now you don't care you pulled a bait-and-switch on him -- whether or not you meant to. Tell him flat out how you feel about the gym. This may very well be a deal breaker for him, and if fitness is important to him, then he deserves someone who takes it seriously.

I'm in this precise position right now -- pregnant with a wonderfully attentive husband. His job is really demanding, and his way of relaxing is just by hanging out and home and saying videogames or reading. I've been needing more me time, so today I went out and did things by myself after church. I ran some errands, window shopped. It was very restorative. We also have a small home. You don't have to frame it as needing a mental health day. You can simply say you need a day for some 'me time' and you're gonna turn your phone on silent. Go hiking, go shopping, go see a film alone. Whatever. It's fine to want time alone. Unless your boyfriend is making you feel smothered, then maybe you should communicate that to him gently.

I don't resent my husband because we both understand that I can't "do it all". I tell him when I'm stretched too thin and that I need help. He understands that week both work full time and that I need his help around the house and with errands. Yes, sometimes this means that some stuff just doesn't get done (there's been some laundry languishing on the table all weekend), but I'd rather have a less-than-perfect house than resent my husband. It's not unladylike to communicate your needs clearly.

Oh no, I understand the appetite thing. I was on a mood stabilizer that people often blame for massive weight gain. I did not gain weight. I adjusted my diet to accommodate a MUCH bigger appetite. Your body isn't demanding anything. That's your mind. If your maintenance was 1500 calories before, and you didn't increase your activity level, your maintenance is still 1500 give or take. You're not starving, that's just a side effect. Until you can get on a medication without the side effect of incr…

This sounds like a troll post, but in case it isn't: Don't stop taking your medication without talking to your doctor. Medication doesn't make you fat. Eating too much makes you fat. If you really feel that you have to eat constantly to stop getting headaches, talk to your doctor. In the meantime, focus on eating lower-calorie foods like vegetables until you can control yourself.

Agree with all of this. My husband and I have sub-5 minute commutes, and it really takes a lot of mental pressure off of us. I second this advice about finding simple, healthy weekday meals, and saving the fancy stuff for the weekends. Most nights we do some sort of veggie wok with noodles or rice. I precook a bunch of rice over the weekend, and freeze it in meal portions. That saves a bunch of cleanup and effort during the week.

Looks absolutely do matter, but they're not the only thing that matters. Your condition puts you at a disadvantage in the looks department, sure. It has most certainly made your dating life harder than someone without Marfans. Being pleasant isn't enough to attract someone, no. But it definitely helps. It can take a long time in therapy to work through dysfunction from childhood and family. My advice is to do any 'homework' your therapist suggests, and really work on recovering outside of therapy. They want to date because they need constant validation. The other reason I've observed is that being pregnant sucks and it can be physically difficult to do simple chores and errands. If you snag a beta, or a FWB, you've got yourself an errand boy.

As other commenters have said -- you gotta decide whether marriage is so important to you that you're willing to walk away from your relationship. You can only accept or reject a man. You cannot coerce them into doing what you want and still be happy. It's hard to approach the subject, but you'll need to decide what's best for you. I highly recommend reading Chapter 17 of Getting to I do. Read the examples in the chapter (Jackie and Dean, and Rhoda and Joe). I wish you the best of luck ♥️

The book Getting to I Do covers this situation, I recommend giving it a read. You can't make a man marry you, but if marriage is important to you, you need to think very carefully before you stay on his hook too much longer. You're in a great position age-wise, and it'd be a shame for you to wake up at 30, still unmarried when marriage is your goal.

Get a food journal and a food scale. If you want to shock yourself, pour what you consider a normal serving of cereal. Then weigh it. If you weigh and track your food, you don't have to worry about 'eating clean' or 'only eating healthy' -- you'll naturally start paying more attention to your portion sizes and the will shift focus to the foods that make you feel good. You also won't have to begrudge yourself 'treats'. The first step is figuring out how much you're currently eating and then takin…
