It's fucking Memorial Day Weekend. It's called a family dinner.

Dude. What I'd do to have had TRP 15 years ago

I struggle with this question of family and toxic personalities. My first inclination is to cut ties, as well.... But I think that's distinctly an American/European/WASP philosophy. But in other cultures (central asia, east asia, african), family is blood. You don't abandon family. You may not be best friends, but if they need you, you help them out. In a RP context, family is also genetic kin: they carry our genes. It makes sense for us to support our family to ensure our genetic legacy.... How…

TRP grounds most of its tenants in evolutionary biology.... And yet most men on TRP advocate for NOT getting married (and by extension, sexual reproduction, even though reproduction is one of THE fundamental principles of natural selection).

This girl was accepted to Duke law school, and has a 140 IQ, why should I not want to have philosophical conversations with her?

If Hemingway used "fuck shit god damn mother fucker asshole cunt" in his prose, he wouldn't need to be critiqued. He would never be published. How you say things matter just as much as what you say. TRP is a process of refinement, improvement, and self-fulfillment. I hold TRP posters to high standards, just as you should.

Careful, brother... Don't be the man that fills your fathers role in your mothers life. It's not your job to fill that spot, and it can be unhealthy... I don't know how old you are, but I recommend you move out ASAP. Congrats on the self improvement.

I started enjoying myself. The most important sentence of your post. "If you're not having fun, you're probably doing something wrong." If you're not enjoying yourself, your wife is probably not enjoying you either. Even if you are "disciplining" her with silence, the fact that you're having fun with it will bring her over to your side. Best of luck. Upward. Onward.

Not sure how I feel about this post: first half is highly speculative (you're making a lot of inferences from her FB post and their relationship); second half talks about yourself... But your conclusion is right. If you haven't seen Gone Girl you must. It touches on huge RP themes, including what you described here.

A girl did this to me when I dumped her. She questioned every bit of my intelligence and character as an attempt to have me doibt my judgement/reasons for dumping her. That kind of stuff worked when I was younger. Not anymore.

Don Draper is handsome. Tyler Durden is hot. They're both fuckable. The fact your asking, and being insecure about it, is NOT attractive or fuckable.

You're asking the wrong question. There are no universal qualities that make a woman LTR/Wife material. We're all different with different needs and life paths. What you should be realizing: My shit stinks (like all humans) My GF's shit stinks. Can I tolerate her shit, just like she tolerates mine? And - Is this woman pushing me to improve my weakness and make me a better man. I've dated ideal TRP women: loyal, submissive. But they bored the fuck out of me, and never pushed me in the directions …

Found TRP last year. Never been happier. Applying to PhD programs, hitting the gym, building a wooden kayak, and made out with a Pakistani model in front of my date last night, who blew me that evening.

Nothing wrong with getting big. Get as big as you want. But if your objective is to maximize your attraction, you also need to be proportional. You can be big AND proportional, but it's hard. People idealize different proportional standards. I prefer the Greek proportional ideal (and I believe most women do too).

You're in high school. Your SMV is low. You're inexperienced. You could be arrested for statutory rape. Lift weights, study, work hard, be loyal to your friends. Stop trying so hard to get your dick wet. Stop posing on TRP.

"People don't remember what you say, they remember how you make them feel." Confident is all fine and dandy, but doesn't mean anything if you don't make them feel good/tingly/sexy. If they're crossing their arms, they're self-conscious and feeling awkward. Stop being awkward.

^ This guy. TRP isn't about being a dick. It's about being a man with a spine. If you're a pussy, ass kissing beta after sex, then yeah, that's a problem. If you fall immediately in love after a good fuck, that's a problem too. If you just want to enjoy a woman's company... well, go for it. I'd recommend staying away from the "I love you" stuff.... the needy kisses. The needy hugging. But there's nothing wrong with enjoying a woman's touch.

I'm not sure what can be said that hasn't been said a million times before: Go to the gym. I'm 6'2", and I would consider 180lbs skinny... Unless I had 5% body fat (which I bet you don't). Read TRP stuff, and then read some more. It's a mindset that takes time to develop. I highly recommend the book "No More Mr. Nice Guy." Before you start trying to pick up women, you need to fix this: "I genuinely don't really like myself. " See a therapist.

This is a moral question. TRP (and its followers) is notoriously bad at providing answers to moral questions. Alpha response: Do what the fuck you want. If you want this chick, make her a plate and pursue that doggedly. Beta response: No man! That's mean. That's not fair. Keep your dick in your pants. My moral response: Would you want your chick to be pursued by another guy (regardless of how alpha you are)? Frankly, it would grind my gears. Do what you want, but consider how you'd like other me…

This had been said a million times before. Yet it's not said often enough. It's the key to RP. If a man wants to manipulate women, it's through providing the image of being good boyfriend material.

If you don't trust the woman, you're not ready for a relationship. Before you call a relationship, ask yourself: "Do I really trust this woman. If she goes out of town, is there any doubt that she'll be hooking up with dudes?" If you think she'll ever cheat on you, you're not ready to call it a relationship. She needs to earn your trust, and you need to be open to giving her your trust. The both of you need to be able to create a safe space where you can show your vulnerabilities, while making s…

Etymology of the word "nice:" nice (adj.) late 13c., "foolish, stupid, senseless," from Old French nice (12c.) "careless, clumsy; weak; poor, needy; simple, stupid, silly, foolish," (read: beta) from Latin nescius "ignorant, unaware," literally "not-knowing," (Read: blue pill, or ignorance of the matrix) from ne- "not" (see un-) + stem of scire "to know" (see science). "The sense development has been extraordinary, even for an adj." [Weekley] -- from "timid" (pre-1300); to "fussy, fastidious" (l…

As might be expected, economists don't agree on why so many men have left the workforce. Some possible factors they cite: There's less of a stigma today if a man doesn't work. Union clout has declined. More men are in early retirement receiving disability benefits. New technology has eliminated manufacturing jobs. And competition from abroad moved others overseas. I don't have any profound insights on this trend. Could this be a symptom of women entering the workforce? As more women are employed…

Nicely done. I'll beer never understand why a woman would test a man like this. What are they trying to determine? Whether you'd stand up for yourself? Or is it, more likely, a narcissistic desire for men to fight over them. She wanted you to fight over her. Win her over. Validate her. What we call a shit test is probably, more realistically, a puerile need for validation .

Top tier prep school grad here. Friends with many Ivy league dudes. Alphaness is a learned behavior, but most definitely NOT in private schools. If anything, these populations are highly feminized and liberal. Beta behaviors are common among boys and men in private schools. If you're looking for demographic correlations, alpha men tend to teach their sons alpha behavior. There is no institutionalize alphaization system in the US.

"This experiment really says one thing: Nowadays, when girls see men driving luxury cars, they will fall for them," says Wang. "They probably thought people driving luxury cars must be very rich, and who knows, maybe they can be with them and be happy the rest of their lives." And this: In all, five of seven women the man approached got into the Lamborghini. One offered her phone number, unsolicited. Another invited him to her apartment.

Dude. If it takes you longer than 30 seconds to come up with a witty response, you failed the shit test. MAYBE work on something else for a few minutes, and come back to it. Stay loose. Be prepared for rejection. Have fun. Be quick. DON'T go to TRP looking for advice. These girls on OKC get messages all the time; you need to be okay with getting turned down (and not always having the best comeback).

I've had a number of encounters with police recently, and it's surprised me how they lose their frame. They approach attempting to appear dominant in control, but in reality they project anger and emotion. They yell, are abrupt, terse, and appear to lack control of their emotions. What you describe is how police should approach scenarios: calm, cool, collected, and in absolute control of themselves and their environment. No anger. Stoic. It sounds like you've got it nailed down. I wish more cops…

These types, for example, will often display their weakness and lack of power as a kind of moral virtue, but true powerlessness, without any motive of self interest, would not publicise its weakness to gain sympathy or respect. You just described a fling of mine. Thank you.

Great point. American's tend to be very, very sensitive to insult. Anyone know if its true in western Europe? I've gotten the impression that middle eastern cultures seem to have a thicker skin. I encourage my best friends to call me out on my shit, and I expect to have the privilege of doing the same. If it's done respectfully, there's nothing better than a friendship that pushes you to improve yourself.
