I would never use it. But that's partly because I dated someone very skilled in it. And it destroyed me... took years to recover from that one.

One of her favorite tactics was to appear and disappear, in different ways. Her most favorite was to walk past me and not say Hello or acknowledge me, just act as if I wasn't there. Sometimes she would go to the bar across the street, then once I saw her she'd run out and deny ever going there.

It's all about fucking with a person's beliefs. And that's a terrible thing to do to someone.

TRP is definitely amoral, but I'm not. Gaslighting someone is a terrible way to manipulate them because not only is morally fucked up, the end result is a crazy person. What good is that?

For her it was deniability. She could just say, "Look! He's crazy." And nothing was her fault.

But other than that, having a crazy person in your life is not worth the hassle. Plus, unless you're a sociopath eventually you WILL feel guilty for raping that person's mind.

It's making someone more pliable by making them doubt their perception of reality. Anexample would be a boyfriend hiding his girlfriend's car keys while she frantically looks for them, then surreptitiously placing them in the first place she looked.

I can't imagine gaslighting someone, no. I'm Machiavellian, not a sociopath.

And yes I've been gaslighted before. Several years ago during college, the girl I was with (LTR) would do shit like this regularly. She wasn't hiding my keys and then 'finding' them, so much as throwing these huge fits about me never doing [insert action here], and then within a few days after we had "settled" things I would make a point to do [action she complained I wasn't doing] and would have it immediately thrown back in my face with an even bigger tantrum.

So basically she had me trapped in this never ending loop of choosing between A and B, and punishing me regardless of which I picked, while at the same time telling me I should have picked the opposite. I would literally get dizzy from the anxiety and frustration- knowing that I had done the 'right' action she had specifically requested of me... even though she would act like she never said anything of the sort. Hell, I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it now!

...The sex was the best I've had so far though ;D

A girl did this to me when I dumped her. She questioned every bit of my intelligence and character as an attempt to have me doibt my judgement/reasons for dumping her.

That kind of stuff worked when I was younger. Not anymore.

Women don't see gaslighting as manipulative or wrong because if you fail their gaslighting and show weakness than you aren't a strong enough male to be with them and impregnate them. They fear being knocked up by a low SMV male that tricked them. Gaslighting in their eyes is just a necessary tool to counteract deceptive beta men.

I would never use it. Women show you with their actions what type of person they are, no need to trick them. If they use your relationship to place themselves higher than you to manipulate you then you need to counteract with dred game and negging but not gas lighting.
