Any psychological paper that follows APA format isn't allowed to have gendered pronouns. "Mankind," "mailman," etc. aren't allowed. It's interesting because it's not academic and leads to awkward phrasing, but it's a required format to use in academic papers.

This is the problem with speculation. Someone who wants to rationalize masturbation can say something along the lines of: After seven days without ejaculation, the body is trained to think "I'm not getting any," and therefore assumes his role as a beta, low test male until he ejaculates again. I'm definitely not claiming that is correct, but a lot of posts and comments I see on TRP are speculative; many of these claims come from people who have no scientific background.

There simply haven't done any official studies of not fapping.... 90+ days. One researcher says that three months without sex causes a male to have the testosterone levels of a child. However, the article only mentions sex, and fails to mention masturbation. There are obviously some differences. The Nat Geo article was published before the NoFap movement began.
