You just let them be who they are and move on to the next person. (If you can get away from them!)

I'm out of the field. Found myself a good one and got engaged. But this article reminded me of good ol' Seddit that tought me how to do it. So I thought this could help. Plus I'm still always looking for more ways to improve my social skills.

This is precisely why we say not to text a girl too much. It's really irritating and needy. Now you can see it from the other perspective. Would you be comfortable if you kept dating her and she was like this all the time? Probably not.

Glad I could help! I don't like grinding on girls either, man. It's always felt awkward. If I'm at a club and a girl invites me to dance with her, I'll do a little of it. But for the most part I avoid it and the clubs where people do it. I prefer more subtle forms of kino, like a hand on the knee, hips, shoulder, etc.

Sounds like you're uncomfortable expressing your sexuality. You obviously have a sex drive or else you wouldn't be posting here. But you're not expressing it for fear of rejection. That lack of expression is a form of dishonesty. Having a sex drive is nothing to be ashamed of. Everyone has one. Girls tend to respond positively to guys who aren't ashamed of theirs. Try taking baby steps. Once you start talking to a girl and you get a positive vibe from her, do a little kino. Put your arm around h…

You always feel the pressure because you think you have to act a certain way to impress women, because you've never impressed a woman by acting natural, probably because you never act natural around women. So just stop trying to impress them, stop worrying about whether or not they like you, and act natural around them. Once you successfully attract a woman or two by acting natural, you'll no longer feel the need to impress them.

This video is so full of good advice I don't even know where to start. I'm reading Models right now and man does he get it all right. He basically deconstructs the whole pickup community and explains how most PUAs have it all wrong.

You might have side-stepped a giant pile of crazy and not even known it. When she said she used to be a slut but she's trying to change, I would have asked her what she meant. Then take whatever she tells you and make it twice as crazy because everybody sugarcoats everything.

All that advice can help him, but I hesitate to tell a new guy to get a wing because he might just sit at home or not approach because he thinks he needs a wing.

I disagree with seeing it as a competition between you and her. You're on the same team. When you talk to a girl, you're making her day a little better. She's secretly rooting for you because she's been wishing for years that the right guy would come along. Other than that, great write up!

Yes. Pickup has evolved from routines to inner game. Check out Mark Manson's "Models" for a more modern approach.

First, perfume is for women. Cologne is for men. I read somewhere that your body secretes pheromones that attract women naturally and subtly, so wearing cologne will actually mask them and reduce your attractiveness. I've had a few girls tell me they like how I smell when I wasn't wearing any cologne, so I have reason to believe that's true.
/r/seduction06/06/13 03:48 PM
2

This is why the distinction between inner and outer game is so important. A guy who masters techniques without addressing his own thought habits will become the conniving manipulative sociopath you describe. A man who masters his inner game can attract women with honesty while maintaining an upstanding character.

Both women and men try to make things work when they like the person enough to want to make it work. If they're not trying to make it work, that's because they don't want to, period. It's not something that's drawn on gender lines.
/r/seduction06/06/13 03:02 PM

If you didn't feel like you needed this guy's attention to feel good, none of these things would bother you. When you have ten guys lined up, the lack of consistent attention from one guy will mean a whole lot less to you.
/r/seduction06/06/13 02:55 PM

Yeah I actually wrote a whole thread on that. But in this case they happen to be correct. The advice is "don't be boring", and I think every pickup guru would agree with that.

I tried not to be like the 100 guys who make comments based on their looks. So I never mentioned that in any of the messages. I tried to write things based on their profile. Yeah that's true. Don't be the guy who writes, "hey you're pretty hot". You don't need to restrict the conversation to facts about you and her. Facts are boring. Ideas, feelings, and character traits are interesting. Try talking about something abstract so that you can both contribute ideas rather than facts. Ask her why she…

For the most part, Nice Guys are really just too wrapped up in their bitterness and entitlement to really think of women as people. They view dating as a game, a game with which they think they can “win” but are being cheated by “bitches” and “assholes.” They don’t factor in other people’s thoughts or feelings or motivations, or how they are perceived by others. Women just exist as sex prizes for making the right moves, and if it doesn’t work for you it’s because “girls like assholes and bad boy…

I've heard from a couple girls that the biggest frustration they have with online dating isn't that guys are creepy but rather that they're boring. Imagine getting hit up by 100 guys a day and all they want to talk about is where they're from, what they do for a living, and what TV shows they like. No offense but I think I fell asleep reading it. I mean, you don't know her any better than she knows you. Do you really care that she's watching Ally McBeal? Try writing less text and make it about m…

Please be more specific. Are we talking about the difference between cute and hot girls? I'd say the difference is in attitude. Hot girls take themselves more seriously. Cute girls are more "girly". Note that the two are not mutually exclusive and it's all very subjective. No one should alter their game according to the type of person they're talking to. Everyone should play to their own strengths and let their own personality come through. There's no sense in pretending to be something you're n…

This a thousand times! I take dance classes and go out dancing all the time and the guy to girl ratio is usually 3:1. It's mind-boggling. I have one class where I'm the only guy and there are five girls! (it's a small class) I can't believe more guys haven't figured this out yet. If you're looking for girls, that's where they are!

I was thinking the same thing but I don't think I could handle a night out with ThrowawayPUA. I'm too old for leaving the house at 12:30. I'd much rather be getting home at that hour. That's okay, though. The women I'd be interested in feel the same way.

Great article Tenmagnet! You probably still could have gotten together with Iylana. But suggesting you go on a date wasn't the way to do it. You already know each other pretty well so there wouldn't be much point in going on a date. If you had feigned indifference about her newly single status then escalated physically when the opportunity presented itself, she might have been receptive. I think the problem most guys have is that they try to "logic" a girl into dating them by presenting evidence…

the responses I got were always "I kind of want to, but I can't...." If she wants it to happen she'll find a way. If she doesn't she'll find an excuse. She's not interested. Move on. When you have ten other girls clamoring for your attention you'll wonder why the hell you were so worried about this one.
/r/seduction20/05/13 07:28 PM

No you don't have to grind on girls from behind. Some guys on here love it and think it's the only way to go but if it doesn't work for you you don't have to do it. I don't think I can really add any more advice aside from just talking to more women. Your success depends on finding the right girl, not on being able to make something happen with every girl you talk to. So talk to as many women as you can and don't hesitate to walk away when you're not feeling good vibes.

I agree. I'm a salsa dancer and it's awesome in so many ways I can't even count them all. My post was directed at guys who're just starting out and don't really know what to do on a dance floor. Being trained is great, but I wouldn't want to give anyone the impression that you need training to go out and have fun.
/r/seduction20/05/13 07:16 PM

Yeah. All you really have to do in most clubs is shift your weight back and forth and smile. Keep your movements small. In almost every song you'll be able to hear a fast beat and a slow beat. Dance to the slow one. Above all, FEEL IT don't fake it.
/r/seduction20/05/13 04:55 PM
2

I ask girls to dance all the time. It's not seeking their approval. You can do it in a manly way if you prefer. Just position yourself in the direction of the floor, hold your hand out, and say "wanna dance?". Sometimes you don't even need to say it. 99.9% of the time she'll grab your hand and you can lead her out there.

It's not how much eye contact you make so much as when to break it. If she's holding it, you should hold it too. If something distracts you or if she breaks it, that's when you should look away.

You didn't post anything about yourself aside from the fact that you're a cancer survivor and you have approach anxiety. So here's the standard tip on overcoming AA: take it in baby steps. First set a goal to say hello to five random people. Then set a goal to have five 30 second conversations with five random people. Then set a goal to have five 30 second conversations with five attractive girls. Then make it 2 minute conversations. Then five. Then start conversations with 20 people in one day.…

I'm a guy who spent his entire childhood afraid to talk to new people. Now I've overcome that fear and I start conversations with strangers everywhere I go. Am I an introvert? Have I become an extrovert? WHO CARES?! Labels don't mean anything. Action does. A lot of guys label themselves as an introvert and offer that as an excuse not to talk to girls. It doesn't matter if it's true or not. The bottom line is that if you want success with women you have to talk to them. Excuses get you nowhere.

THIS THIS THIS! Everybody asks the same three boring questions. Come up with three interesting questions and ask them of every girl instead. You'll have plenty of time to find out where she lives, what she does for money, and what she does for fun after you've made a good impression by not being yet another boring conversation.

I'd be careful about calling it special and referring to yourself as a hopeless romantic. That kind of language and thinking can come across as needy. I've always had better results when I treat it as no big deal.

Some girls will be willing to hook up with you in that situation and some won't. There's nothing you can do to sway her one way or the other. Just tell her there's nothing going on between you and Suzie. If she's cool with it, which it looks like she based on your story, then there's nothing to worry about.

If you're actively screening, that will be readily apparent to girls you talk to. Girls respect a guy who has some standards, and they'll find that attractive. At the moment I have a girlfriend. We have sex every day, but that's cheating at the "getting laid" game so it doesn't really apply. When I was last single, I was usually dating around three girls at any given time and having regular sex with them. I don't know why nobody believes me, but I swear to God and all that is holy, there are plenty of girls out there who just really love cock and can't get enough. I've dated quite a few of them.
/r/seduction10/04/13 01:40 PM

If you measure your success by how often you get laid, that's because deep down inside you believe that you don't deserve to get laid. So your "success" consists of acquiring something that you previously couldn't get. But if you really do believe you deserve to have sex, then getting laid isn't a measure of anything. Girls and guys both love having sex. It's our natural disposition. We're all a bunch of horny primates and we all really enjoy gettin' it on. You deserve to have sex with a hot gir…

Things that happen to you don't have to dictate how you act. You get to decide how you react to everything around you. You can be self-directing. Take control of yourself.
/r/seduction08/04/13 02:13 PM

I respectfully disagree. Abundance mentality is vital for a successful committed relationship. Without it, you'll tend to give in when you shouldn't, which causes the girl to lose respect for you, which will ultimately lead to a breakdown of the relationship. You have to be able to stand up for yourself at all times. Nothing helps you do that more than knowing you could find another girlfriend if you had to.
/r/seduction08/04/13 02:04 PM

I've been approached. Maybe I'm the outlier. It doesn't happen much, but it happens. I'll admit they don't usually just come out and say they want you. Much more often, they'll find a less explicit way to communicate it. There are a million different ways they can make it abundantly clear without saying it outright. Girls spend their entire lives living in a world in which it's frowned upon for them to express their sexuality, so they have a lot of experience finding ways to imply it.

Rejections still happen, but when a girl dumps me now she's doing me a favor by weeding herself out, why would I ever want to be around someone who doesn't want to be with me? YES! This is exactly how everyone should see it.

Women don't approach men they're not attracted to. Meek men are not attractive. Women do approach confident men.
/r/seduction03/04/13 05:27 PM
3

The real question is this: is the difference the cause or the result of the common perception that men are hornier? Are men hornier because they've been told they're expected to be hornier, hence they don't hold themselves back as much? Do women express less desire for sex because they've been told their whole lives that they're not supposed to have it?
/r/seduction03/04/13 03:34 PM

Wow that other thread got really long. I'd just like to share a point I think you both missed. Most men think women are less horny than men. As a consequence of that belief, they feel ashamed of themselves for wanting to approach women sexually. So they either don't do it, or they do it meekly instead of confidently. Women don't find that attractive, so they fail, which reinforces their belief. In this way, the belief that women aren't horny is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I missed it. Thanks for letting me know.

I suppose if your friends actually are a bunch of d-bags, that reflects poorly on you because you're the one who decided to be friends with those guys. You can give them some friendly advice, but you can't change people. If they still keep acting like that, it might be time to find some new friends.
/r/seduction03/04/13 02:53 PM
2

Yes the damage is done. There's not much left to do at this point other than apologize. Tell her you'd be happy to have her as a friend. And given that she's not interested in you, she can even be your wingwoman when you go out and pick up other girls this weekend.

Can you be more specific about what you mean by "weird situations"?
/r/seduction02/04/13 09:14 PM

You don't have to correct your friends. Just take control of the situation and talk to the girl yourself. If he looks bad, that's his problem. Maybe you can give him a few pointers the next day when you're at home. But when you're in the field you don't need to take responsibility for everybody else's game.

If a girl tells you she just wants to be friends, the answer is "yeah sure that's fine". If she tells you she wants to fuck your brains out, the answer is "yeah sure that's fine". If she tells you she never wants to talk to you again, the answer is "yeah sure that's fine". Everything's fine and nothing's a big deal because you're a confident stud who doesn't need anything from her. I know some guys here may disagree with me, but let me explain why I believe this. Any time you let anything upset …

Jealousy doesn't make any sense. I want to be with a woman who likes me. If she likes me, I have no reason to worry about her liking some other guy more. If she doesn't, then I don't want to be with her. So why get jealous? Jealousy is a coercive attempt to control people. The only reason people try to control others is low self-esteem. A happy relationship, whether it's romantic or otherwise, is what happens when two people spend time with each other because they both like each other. It doesn'…

Exactly. Pretending to be confident is a catch-22. If you really were confident, you wouldn't need to pretend. If you think you need to pretend, then you're not confident. If you stop thinking you need to pretend, then suddenly you become confident.

Why is it bad advice?

I dated three girls in the same group. The one I ended up dating the longest was the one who was okay with it. Not coincidentally, she was also the most confident in the group and didn't give a fuck what her friends thought. So yeah, it works if she's okay with it. If she's not, it's just not gonna work out. The only way to find out is to try!
/r/seduction26/03/13 08:56 PM
5

Yeah I get the theory. But I never faked it. I just accepted the fact that I had no confidence but I was gonna talk to girls anyway. So I talked to girls without pretending to be confident. Then I failed and failed and failed and now I'm not afraid of failing so I actually am confident.

The best answer to this question I've seen was on the FAQ for mASF. It went something like: Q: This isn't working fast enough. Should I quit? A: Does it even matter? Either you want to improve or you don't. How fast it happens is irrelevant.

I wasn't referring to the anxiety specifically. More that you get attached and worry too much. That's girl repellant. I don't want to sound like a dick, but it sounds like you've got a lot of inner turmoil to work out. Being good looking and fun to be around will make girls want to sleep with you, but if you want them to view you as "boyfriend material" you have to be more mentally stable.

I have been diagnosed with ADD, anxiety, depression, as well as bipolar. I am seeing a top quality psychiatrist next month for the first time so that should help. I guess my problem is I become "attached" and text too much, and worry too much once I start seeing a girl. The anxiety is insane. Ill be on my game like its nothing and have 0 worries, then when the girl obviously is starting to like me, I get really severely anxious and nervous, I guess that they wont like me once they get to know me…

No one in Seddit really wants a relationship, they just wanna fuck. I don't think that's true. We've had plenty of posts about relationships. I'm in a relationship. It's not the primary focus, but it gets brought up. I think a lot of guys want to learn pickup because it'll help them find a girl to have a relationship with.
/r/seduction22/03/13 05:16 PM
3

If you're on a date and the girl's not saying anything, then it's a bad date. You should obviously be a little more patient than you would if you had just met her in a bar, but if it goes on like that too long, don't be afraid to cut the date short and leave. That might sound counterintuitive at first, but that kind of attitude is what girls are attracted to. There's a big difference between a guy who's trying to "make it work" and a guy who just doesn't give a fuck. And if you compose yourself …

You have to walk before you can run. Stop trying to be perfect.

Sometimes walking away is the best way to attract a girl.
/r/seduction22/03/13 03:40 PM

First of all: punctuation. Second: because I'm not trying to impress her or prove to her that I'm worth her time. She should be impressing me. If she's not, I move on. Not because I couldn't keep the conversation going, or that I'm "pussying out", but because I don't want to. I don't care whether she likes me or not, so I don't have any reason to try to make a conversation happen when she's not helping.
/r/seduction22/03/13 02:09 PM

The girl you're talking to should contribute something to the conversation too. If you run out of things to talk about and she's not contributing, just go talk to somebody else.

Good for you! Remember, just because she started calling you her guy that doesn't mean you can slip back into AFC habits. In other words, don't start acting needy. Maintain your independence. Always give her space and let her come to you. Being "in a relationship" is like getting her number. Guys often confuse it as a sign of victory and an indication that it's okay to stop practicing what you're learned. It's not. It's just a sign that you're on the right track.

Once upon a time I decided taking hip hop classes would help me dance in everyday clubs. I discovered that no one does real hip hop moves in the club. It's only useful if you're pursuing a career as a backup dancer for J-Lo. Since then I've been doing salsa for three years. It's a great social dance, but you can't do it in everyday clubs. But the good news is that there are salsa nights at various clubs all over the place so just go to those. You can meet a lot of girls that way.

Good point. A guy who's never attracted a women wouldn't know how to do it. A guy who's only ever attracted one type of woman would only know how to attract that one type, assuming he even did it on purpose. Plus like another poster mentioned, different people have different methods of attraction that you might not want or be able to duplicate. If you asked Mic Jagger how to attract women he'd tell you to be the lead singer of a major rock band. So yeah, be careful who you ask advice from.

I think there's a distinction between changing the way you act towards different people based on what kind of person they are vs. changing who you are for different people. Good luck, man! Go out and post a few Field Reports. You can use a lot of the same social skills to make friends as you use to pick up women. We're not all in our 20s picking up girls in da club. I'm 33. I agree with pickup_sticks that salsa dancing and meetup groups are great places to meet women. I've also found that older women are easier to get along with because they don't play games. A shit test is when a woman says or does something that either is unfair to you or somehow expresses disinterest. I think the term comes from the idea that she's seeing whether you'll put up with her shit. Women often use a guy's reaction to such an event to gauge what kind of person he is. The whole process usually takes place subconsciously.

We have a term for those guys around here. We call them AMOGs, or Alpha Male Of the Group. I think the reason you can't do it is very similar to the reason people generally have trouble doing things they know they should do. Why didn't I go to the gym yesterday? This is perfect example of the difference between attracting women vs just having sex. If she had really been attracted to him, she'd be telling her friend she had a great time and she can't wait to see him again. Instead she sounds like she's kind of weirded out by him and she doesn't know why she had sex with him. In all honesty it sounds like the girl either has low self esteem or just wanted some cock. In either case the guy probably could have slept with her no matter what he did.

I agree with you. The goal of kino is to make the girl feel comfortable touching you. She clearly didn't feel comfortable as evidenced by her cringing about it in the text messages.

You can't change your facial bone structure, but you can make your face look better by smiling more and getting / staying in shape. So focus on that. No one is doomed to a life of solitude. There are things you can do to make yourself more appealing to members of the opposite sex. Every day you make a decision whether or not to do those things. The fact that you've acknowledged that your mind-set is the problem is the first step. Having that mind-set is a self-fulfilling prophecy. So now what you have to do is train yourself not to think that way. You have to realize that you are not your thoughts. Your thoughts are created by your ego. That was a very well-reasoned statement, but I'd like to pipe in to support the OP. If you just go out and apply a bunch of pickup techniques and manage to have sex, the next day you're not much better off than you were before. If you become more attractive in general, then it gets easier to have sex whenever you want it. It's really nice to be able to go out and have women attracted to you wherever you go. It's nice to know you could have sex with a new partner pretty much whenever you want. Ha…

The advice here can be used for whatever purpose you wanna use it for. The bottom line is that the search for a meaningful relationship is a numbers game. You have to find a girl with whom you're very compatible. The chances of any given girl meeting that criteria are pretty slim, but it's not possible to know until you talk to her. So you have a talk to a lot of girls to find the right one. In order to do that, you have to know how to talk to girls.

There are a lot of women in the world suffering from a wide variety of character flaws that make them undateable, but I wouldn't call them "bitches". I prefer to think of them as people who have some more growing up to do. Nobody's perfect and we're all maturing all the time. Some of us have come farther than others. The best tip I can give a guy is to realize this and learn to identify and avoid those girls who haven't matured to the level that makes them pleasant company. There are also a lot …

This isn't news. A lot of guys make friends with women hoping that some day she'll decide she wants to have sex with him. She won't and guys who do this are being stupid. Seduction isn't about overcoming obstacles put in place by members of the opposite sex. It's about overcoming obstacles you've put in place in your own head. There are rational reasons why women do everything they do. There are rational patterns of behavior a man can and should engage in what will lead him to success in dating. Most of the dating problems guys have stem from their own irrational thoughts and behaviors in reaction to women. So stop apologizing for other people's problems.

None of this shit about you planning out a date and not even getting a response. And if the response is anything other than "yes", you assume the date's not gonna happen and make other plans. You could have avoided this whole awkward situation that way. Live and learn, man. That's why we're all here.

Don't judge yourself according to how they respond to you. There are a million external factors you don't control that could affect her decision about whether or not to follow you to the bar. She could be having a bad day. She could have a boyfriend she didn't tell you about. She could be recovering from the loss of her favorite goldfish. Plus even if every other factor is pointing in your direction, she's only getting a tiny glimpse into who you are. She doesn't know the real you. All she knows…

We've all been through it. My first date was one of the most awkward experiences of my life. I think the real trick to making a date go smoothly is not caring what the outcome is and just having fun. Of course, it's really tough to adopt that mindset when you've never been on a date before. So my advice to you is to go into it expecting to crash and burn. Then any part of it that does happen to go well will be a bonus, and maybe you can relax and just enjoy it.

Talk about things that interest her. Getting her to talk about herself is a good way to find out what interests her. But you gotta do some talking too. No girl wants to date a brick wall. Make sure you contribute something meaningful and unexpected to the conversation.

You didn't do anything wrong. You invited them to the next bar. They clearly knew they were invited. You left like you said you were going to. Part of having the right attitude is being willing to walk away. You demonstrated that you were. You have to be willing to just accept the fact that they didn't follow. It's all part of the deal. You'll never be able to pick up 100% of the girls you talk to. Some will be into you and some won't. You don't get to decide which ones like you and which ones d…

Yes, tell them you suck shit. If you admit you suck and you tell people you're working on it, they'll respect your candor and your willingness to improve. Nobody's perfect, you shouldn't expect yourself to be, and nobody else should expect you to be. You don't have to be perfect for people to like you.

I'm speaking from experience here. Women want sex just as much as men do. I'm aware that most people don't realize that because it's been drilled into your head by years of social conditioning that men want it more. I'm telling you, they want it. But when you offer it to them on a silver platter, it loses its mystique and they lose interest. If you could just open your eyes and question your beliefs, you could have more sexual options than you've ever dreamed of.

You came here to learn how to improve your success with women. I'm telling you you need to change your mental state to do that. If you want to argue with me, that's fine. It's your loss.

The problem is that no one wants to sleep with people who have no self-respect. In your scenario, all the guys are desperate for sex and have low standards. That immediately disqualifies them as sexual partners. I'm not too sure if I'd feel empowered or advantaged as a woman surrounded by guys I had no interest in having sex with.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. A lot of guys might assign her a higher social status but that doesn't mean it's real and it doesn't mean you have to. Plus there are just as many guys who get automatic higher social status in the minds of women. You gotta keep in mind that girls are just as attracted to a hot guy as guys are to a hot girl.

Limiting beliefs and confirmation bias aren't restricted to pickup. They're well-established psychological phenomena. Yeah sure you don't hear them talked about much in casual conversation. But if you were to ask your average man on the street why some guys are able to pick up women and some aren't, he'd probably give you some asinine excuse that has nothing to do with anything like having nice clothes or lots of money. If you want the real answer to the question, you have to dig for it. The bot…

People happy with the terms of their relationship don't cheat, plain and simple. I can agree with that. If you're not happy in your relationship, you can either work it out with your partner or leave the relationship. Neither of those are fun things to do, but that's what you have to do if you're a good person. Cheating is the easy way out. I don't like people who avoid difficult decisions, take the easy way out, lie, and break promises. My time is valuable to me and I don't waste it on people l…

As long as you keep telling yourself that, you're always going to feel inferior and you're not going to be able to treat hot women as equals. It's a limiting belief. You're using confirmation bias to find evidence supporting it while dismissing evidence to the contrary. Nothing I can write here will change your mind. It's all in your head. People aren't judging you nearly as much as you think. Everyone's too busy worrying about their own shit to pay attention to you. The only time you register in their consciousness is when you interact directly with them. You're not really that important. Stop worrying about what people think about you.

How do you pick up women with no sense of humor?
/r/seduction14/12/12 03:45 PM

It takes time to turn off the automatic pickup habit, but it's do-able. It's nice to know you could find another girl if things don't go well with the one you're focusing on. Knowing that will keep you from acting desperate and scaring her away. Also, knowing how to talk to people is a great skill to have in everything you do, especially your career. Try focusing your attention on applying your skills at work. It'll give you something to strive for without jeopardizing your relationship.

If you forget the girl's name by the end of the night, pull out your phone and say, "How do you spell your name?" Presumably, she'll tell you and you type it into the phone. Then hand her the phone and say, "put your number in". Works like magic.

In a night club, dancing is more about being comfortable in your own body than anything else. It's an expression of your mental state. Repetition is key to all good dancing. However, I highly recommend you take salsa classes. You can learn to dance and meet girls at the same time.
/r/seduction10/12/12 09:44 PM

I pick up books for complete strangers. That's just common courtesy. I think the real things you need to be worrying about are: when she asks you to do something, does she expect it from you? Does she see you as a servant or an equal partner? And when you do stuff for her, are you doing it because you enjoy helping her out, or because you're seeking her approval?
/r/seduction10/12/12 09:39 PM

People in night clubs sometimes have hostile or defensive attitudes. Try something where people are more inviting, like volunteering for church events.
/r/seduction10/12/12 04:41 PM

Whatever works for you, man. I recommend just going out and doing things you like and talking to people you meet along the way. That way you already know you have a common interest and something to talk about. Plus it's in-person interaction, which is better for overcoming social anxiety. For example, you could go to a hiking meetup or a dance class. But if that's too much of a great leap forward, I suppose Omegle is better than nothing.

Sounds like she's just a fickle young girl who can't decide what she wants. She's no good as a fuckbuddy because she gets attached and jealous. She's no good as a girlfriend because she forgets about you the second she sees another guy she likes. So just forget about her and move on.

There are traits that are universally attractive. There are traits that are universally unattractive. The difference is mostly tied to attitude. That's what alpha and beta are: different attitudes. One will lead to a happy fulfilling life and the other won't. You don't have to become exactly like some other guy to have success with ladies. But for the majority of guys, what they need is a shift in attitude. That's what we talk about here.

Yeah, definitely. Girls just want to go out and have fun. You don't have to be a very technical dancer as long as you're having fun and not shoving her around. Salsa dancing is great for seduction, if for no other reason than it teaches you how to be assertive and take the lead. Yes, plenty of guys have had the same problem. The thing is, getting a number doesn't actually mean anything. A lot of girls will give out a number and then never return your calls and think nothing of it. Just because she gave you her number, that doesn't mean she wants to see you again. If you really wanna get people engaged in a conversation, you have to talk about things that are interesting to them. Relating a story about a trip you took abroad may be very interesting on its surface, but if the person you're talking to can't relate, they're not going to be able to contribute to the discussion. If you're asking what women want, you've already lost. Women don't want a guy who molds himself after what he thinks they want. Like most posters here, I only have experience attracting women, not men, so I may be wrong here. But what works on me is basically the same as what we talk about around here. If the guy's attracted to you, he'll respond positively. A lot of things go into creating attraction. Be in shape. Dress well. Have a positive attitude. Joke, laugh, and have a good time. Say something intelligent. Remember: attraction is not a choice. You'll never "logic" anyone into being attracted to you. All you can do…

I don't want to look like a beta who chickened out because of her bf. A man who has an abundance of women available to him doesn't need nor want to waste his time hitting on another man's girlfriend.

Judging by your other posts in this thread, it sounds like you're determined to find a reason why you can't approach. If that's the case, nothing anyone can say to you will change your mind. Like many guys who come to this forum, you seem to be suffering from a case of cognitive dissonance. You see yourself as a valuable person (which you are) and yet you're still not approaching women even though you'd like to be. In order to address these conflicting facts without challenging your self-image, …

I think of approaching women as analogous to trying out different foods or restaurants. Let's say you decided to find the best sandwich shop in town. If you went to one shop and the sandwich was terrible, that wouldn't make you decide to stop looking for a better one. You wouldn't feel horrible because you had a bad sandwich. You wouldn't lose any self-confidence as a result of the bad experience. There's no need to desensitize yourself to the rejection of bad sandwiches. You'd just pick your as…

If you could levitate, you wouldn't be worried about the ground falling out from under you. What we're trying to tell you here is that you can levitate. You don't need any girl's approval to feel good about yourself. When you talk to a girl, you don't need to be seeking her approval. All you're doing is giving her an opportunity to meet you. If she doesn't take it, that's her loss, not yours.

Just because you talk to them doesn't mean you want to sleep with them. Having the attitude that you might not want to is actually a huge advantage to you. You won't be one of those guys who's always worrying about how you're gonna get the girl into bed. You can keep a clear head and form an objective opinion of a girl before you try to get into her pants. Girls respect that, and nothing's sexier than respect.

Word. Most of the time, when guys ask for advice on picking up IOIs, what they're really asking is, "How can I be sure she won't reject me before I approach?". The answer to that question is you can't. The only way to find out is to take the risk, approach, and just deal with it.

Not only should you do it today, but you should also approach four more girls today and talk to them too. I promise some of them will be more receptive than others. If one girl has no interest in talking to you, it's important that you realize that she's just one girl among many, and her opinion isn't the only one that matters. Once you accept the fact that some interractions will go better than others, you can stop worrying about whether or not any one particular girl will be receptive.

You need to reframe your approach to dating. You're the fucking man! You're awesome. You're living the life of your dreams. You're out there accomplishing things that appeal to you. Any girl in her right mind would be dying to meet you. If you ask a girl out and she's too shy to meet up with you, that's her loss, not yours. Take charge and tell the girl what you want. Don't be afraid of her. Don't be afraid of rejection. Girls can smell fear and they aren't attracted to it. Relationships only ha…

Dating doesn't happen on the phone. Dating happens in person. You're focusing all your attention on your phone. You need to be focusing on your life. What do you want to do that's interesting to you? Make plans to do that, then call the girl up and invite her along. If she comes, that's great. If not, who cares? When you talk to these girls, I can almost guarantee that they're thinking, "Is this guy gonna ask me out or what?" Then when you don't, she concludes that you're afraid to do it. Make y…

Do really hot girls ask for tips on dealing with nervous guys? No. Why? Because they don't waste their time talking to nervous guys when they could be talking to confident guys. So why would you waste your time picking up nervous girls? Your brain's lazy, so it prefers to keep using the same pathways over and over again, like trails through a forest. Sounds like chick advice. The first phrase is correct. Stop thinking about relationships as an end unto themselves. A relationship is what happens when you're banging the same girl on a regular basis and you decide you like her so much you don't wanna bang any other girls. This is seduction. Not self improvement. For a lot of beginners, the biggest reason they can't seduce is because they don't have any confidence. The #1 most attractive quality anyone can posses is Confidence. It won't matter if you're short and not physically attractive. If you're smiling, having fun, and making people laugh, girls will be attracted to you. You just need to work on your conversational skills. Which means you need to start engaging in a lot of conversations with strangers. Don't worry about being awkward and not doing very well when you start out. We all start somewhere. Just keep at it until you get better.

There's this commonly held misconception that men are always trying to get sex and women are always trying to get commitment, and relationships represent a trade of those two things. The assumption is that no man would freely commit to a woman were it not for payments of sex, and no woman would freely have sex were it not for payments of commitment. I've never heard of a pickup instructor telling his students to just keep being persistent even after being blown out of the set. I have read many times that when that happens, you chalk it up as a learning experience and you move on. That entitlement mentality is rooted in the belief that you need a girl's affection to feel normal. You don't need anyone to worship you to feel normal. I don't do it. It conveys that you're afraid she's gonna flake, which could be interpreted as neediness. I'm not afraid she's gonna flake because I'm a pretty great catch and she'd have to be out of her mind to flake on me. If she does, it's her loss. She's lucky to be on a date with me! If I don't hear from her, I just show up at the specified time and place. I've never had a girl just not show up.

I think the contradiction resolves itself when you identify the difference between interest and need. You can show interest in a girl by talking, flirting, kino, etc without showing that you need her interest back to feel good about yourself.

Actually, I should add a caveat to that statement. You can't get inner game just by doing stuff. There are a few basic principles that you have to internalize. For example, you have to be able to recognize what you can and cannot control, and stop worrying about things you can't control. That's a concept that you can learn initially from a video or a conference, but you have to think about it every day to internalize it. There are a lot of concepts like that. If you throw too much at someone all…

Yeah, playing pool on a regular basis. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but spending my Tuesday night in a bar meant eating bar food and beer for dinner, and I started going broke and putting on weight. I just don't enjoy rock climbing. If you do, that's great. I just don't think it's fun. I could never get into the habit of meditating every day. I get bored when I do it. I found a local buddhist meditation group that meets every Sunday night, but that conflicts with my regular salsa dancing night. I ha…

You need to get in touch with your sexuality. And you need to start relating to girls as people, not business partners. Stop looking for the perfect girl. Talk to everyone, whether it's an attractive girl or the ugliest guy you've ever seen. Just talk to them to get yourself into the habit of relating to people. Then when you're talking to a girl you find attractive (again she doesn't have to be a supermodel) get sexual with her. Flirt and kino. You might be surprised by just how much girls can …

You need to learn to enjoy your own company. If you're not having fun, the people around you won't be having fun. If you're in a terrible mood and you don't feel like going out, just don't go out. Don't force yourself to pretend to be having fun when you're really not. Do what makes you happy, not what everybody else says will make you happy. Pickup is secondary to having fun. If you always feel like you have to do this that and the other thing, that sense of not having control over your life ca…

You could message 60 girls an hour. If you send out generic messages, you don't get many responses. If you take the time to read their profiles and you say something specific to each girl, you get a better response rate. However, that means you have to read through every profile before sending a message. Most of them are mind-numbingly stupid to read. I don't know about you, but I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do with my time than read those goddamn inane profiles. Stabbing myself in t…

IMHO, online dating is a waste of time. If the girl's even mildly attractive, she's getting hundreds of messages a week and you're just one more in the pack. Plus every creepy guy who can't talk to women in real life is on there. She gets a lot of messages from them, so her bitch shield is sky high. There's nothing you can do to differentiate yourself from the pack that won't make her think you're creepy. I've been done college for 10+ years. I go out to the same bar every Sunday night. It's the same crowd every week. It's easy to spot the new girls, and I have no trouble approaching them. I think it's a good idea to have a regular spot like this where you can feel comfortable. It lessens AA a lot.

I share your concerns. I agree loud music makes it tough to have a normal conversation, although it can be a great excuse to get closer. The advantage is that the girls are kinda expecting you to talk to them, so there's less awkwardness when you do. Also if you're a decent dancer you can dance with them and pick them up just through body language. There's less thinking involved. A lot of girls go to a nightclub because they want to get picked up. They'll make it easy for you if that's what they…

I would recommend Naked by David Wygant. Basically the key to making a relationship last is being compatible with your partner. You can't pretend to be the man of her dreams forever. Eventually the real you is gonna come through, and she has to like the real you for it to work. If you're picking up women by pretending to be someone you're not, your relationships won't work out. Or if you're picking up women who have character traits you don't like and you're ignoring them because you wanna "make…

Gradually work on changing your habits to remove each of those differences one at a time. Never stop striving to improve yourself. Eventaully you'll learn to love yourself. Then you won't be dependent on anyone else for external validation.

I can never know when (or what) I should say something to change the tone of the conversation to seduction. Sex begins the moment you open your mouth. Women aren't looking for a particular type of guy, they're looking for a particular type of experience. The whole time you're talking to a woman, you're creating the experience that's gonna make her want to have sex with you.

Get better friends and meet better girls. Life is awesome, and you don't need "someone to share it with" to enjoy it. It helps to have some good friends to enjoy it with, but finding them can be easier said than done. You just have to practice some discrimination when it comes to deciding who your friends are. No offense, but who gives a fuck? If some girl doesn't wanna have sex with you, does it even matter why? Go find a girl who does wanna have sex with you and call it a day! Guys who complain about the friendzone are all suffering from oneitis. Creepy = Incongruent. If you think there's somethign wrong with you approaching women, that belief will come out in your posture and your tone when you do it. That's what makes you look creepy. This is a great post! The bottom line is that there are no shortcuts. Most guys come here expecting to learn that one line or technique that's gonna get the girl of their dreams to fall for them. Strip clubs create the illusion that hot girls are into you. It's a lot like masturbation, just in a much more elaborate and expensive form. I stay away from them. They're a waste of time and money. I prefer to talk to girls who really are into me. If you want motivation, I recommend you go to a club with real hot girls you can actually hit on.
/r/seduction31/08/12 06:19 PM

You can go by yourself. That's what I've always done. If you go to a bar or club that has a salsa night with a lesson, just show up on that night and take the lesson. The instructor will have you rotate around with all the girls. If you go to a dance studio, you typically will have to find out when they're starting a new class. Again you just show up by yourself on the day the new class starts and you'll rotate to dance with everyone. It's a great way to meet girls!

That was actually true for me for a while. I used to obsess over the things that might have gone wrong. I've gradually gotten better over time. I still do worry to some extent, but not as much as I used to. I've never seen a therapist, but reading Seddit has helped me a lot.

Yeah I agree with zoopzopzoobop. Forget about "that one girl" and just focus on yourself. That girl I was friends with apparently had a thing for me for a long time, and she just didn't express if for months because she had been dating my friend. A couple weeks after they broke up, she started hanging all over me, then one night she isolated me and we got it on. I had been attracting her for a long time just via my lifestyle, nothing focused specifically on her. That's what I mean. Living an att…

I've gone from being just friends with a girl for months to having sex with her in five minutes. Just like a women can attract every man around her, there are behaviors a man can engage in that will attract all women around him. If a girl is sufficiently attracted to you and sufficiently comfortable with her own sexuality, you can move as fast as you want. On the othe hand, if the girl's not attracted to you and/or she's just not the type of girl who wants to have sex, no set of guidelines will …

I think it's been ingrained into me by society for so long it's hard for me to shake with rational thought. Yeah, there are a lot of things people will try to ingrain into your head by repeating it ad naseum. You just gotta retrain yourself to believe what you believe, not what they want you to believe. Maybe watch more porn? lol

You're slut-shaming the girls. I think you just need to realize that they're free to do whatever they want, and it's not your place to judge them. Or maybe just go to church and find a girl who's saving herself for marriage.
/r/seduction28/08/12 03:34 PM

I've gotten plenty of numbers and then never called the girls. Usually because I just have too many girls I'm already seeing and I don't have time for another one. It's nothing personal. It's just how it is. So I can totally understand why girls would do the same thing.

Not everyone thinks persistence is a good thing. When I'm talking to a girl, if she gives me any indication she's not interested, I just eject right away and that's it. If she was playing games with me and she really did want me around, that's her problem, not mine. There are a dozen other girls in the club I could be talking to. Why waste my time on her?

Me: how about consideration for the other person No woman will ever go out with you because she feels pity for you. "Consideration" is not how you attract women. Awesome post! It's all in how you carry yourself. I've seen it in women. Some women carry themselves with an aire of sexuality, and some don't. It makes such a huge difference in terms of who I'm attracted to and who I'm not. And yet for most of my life, I've totally overlooked this in myself. It was only within the last year (right around the time I started reading pickup material) that I started being more conscious of this. It's absolutely critical to be aware of how you present yourself.

As guys we have a habit of focusing all of our attention on the girl we want to sleep with. So whenever anyone says "women", the mental image we conjure up is the one we want to sleep with. So of course we think she would have an easy time getting laid. We want to sleep with the very attractive women and we completely ignore the average ones. The average girls have just as much trouble as we do finding someone they want to sleep with who is also willing to sleep with them. On the other hand, I a…

That's all well and good, but introversion is no excuse for not talking to people. I think almost everyone has a natural tendancy to be introverted because it's safe. Stop clinging to what's safe and start challenging yourself. You have to take risks in order to grow as a human being. That includes beginning conversations with people you don't know. Your mind can come up with a million excuses not to take that risk. Don't let "I'm an introvert" be an excuse for not doing it.

You need to ask yourself why you're going on dates in the first place. If you're just looking for sex, then you should just go out to bars and pick up girls by talking about sex. You'll eventually find one who just wants to get laid like you and doesn't care about having any more involvement beyond that. It's all about breaking it up into smaller steps. If you tell a newbie to go approach a woman, they won't because it's intimidating. If you tell them to stand up and walk towards her, that's a more manageable task and they can do it. Then tell them to open up their mouth and say the first thing that comes to mind, and they will. I wouldn't recommend a therapist for one simple reason: therapists have a nasty habit of telling people that it's "not your fault". That you have some sort of "serious disorder" and you need to be coddled, and it's the world's fault for not being more understanding. Bullshit. You can take control. You can change your destiny. The first time you have sex with a woman is the one and only time to spank her. Just do it, don't ask her. After that she'll beg you to spank her. If you don't and then you ask her if she likes to be spanked she'll refuse and if you spank her a bit she'll call you a weirdo or a perv. The people asking that failed to consider the possibility he was neither shy nor playing hard to get. Maybe he actually was hard to get. The whole mentality that show promotes is that there's this one completely perfect specimen of a human being, and the 25 others should be trying their hardest to get that person's attention. As we know, going into any sort of dati…

I have difficulty not turning everything sexual. Half the words in the english language can be used to describe some aspect of sex. I went mini-golfing with a girl and all we could talk about were strokes, balls, and getting it in the hole. All you need is a dirty mind. Just don't be ashamed to talk about it!

Sometimes the choice between being honest and being appeasing is a lose-lose prospect. For example: Last night I was at a girl's house. Just making conversation, she asked me what I had been doing all week. I had been going on dates with other girls all week. I told her I had gone out with a few friends (which is true, just not the whole truth). Later, she pressed me for more details and I just came out and told her I had been on dates with other girls. From that point on, she wasn't very affect…

I'm just trying to reframe the way you think about dating. The normal perception is to think that girls are judging you as a person and the best way to become more attractive is to become a better person. The reality is that she can't judge you as a person because she doesn't know enough about you to do that. She bases her judgement on what she knows about you, which is the result of the experience she has with you.

What I mean is this: when a girl is going through the process of deciding whether she wants to sleep with you or not, she's not judging you by how succesful, smart, fit, responsible, reliable, organized, and trustworthy you are. She's judging you by how much fun it would be to date you.

Girls aren't really attracted to the man so much as they're attracted to the experience of dating the man. (We're the same way) If the guy is funny, confident, and sexual, then the prospect of dating him seems like an exciting experience, so they do it. If you're not confident when you're interractiong with a girl, she won't think dating you sounds like fun, so she won't do it. So, with that end in mind, it makes sense to get your shit together insofar as it enables you to act confidently around…

I haven't read Manson yet (just ordered it after seeing this thread) but I read Naked and loved it. Wygant's advice is more geared towards finding a good LTR than getting laid, and his intended audience is both men and women. If that's what you're looking for, his advice is spot-on in my opinion.

Don't ask her if she's interested. Nothing will kill your chances faster than asking about it. Get her alone, get her in the mood, and stick your tongue down her throat. I've been spending a lot of time lately thinking the same thing. I used to be very dry, but I'm making progress towards learning to be funny. There's no good reason for a challenge like that to compromise the relationship. A relationship is just two people who like each other. When you demonstrate that you can pick up other women, your girlfriend is just learning more about you. Big deal, right? So she knows you can get other girls. That should have been assumed from the get-go. Anyone worth dating can get other partners. The only way that can be perceived as a threat is if the girlfriend thinks she can't compete. First of all, no one in the Seddit community is going to tell you having sex is bad. You might be doing it for the wrong reasons, though. Deep down inside, your ego is telling you that you're not good enough to deserve attention from men. You seek out that attention, and when you get it, you feel a rush of adrenaline because you're proving your ego wrong. But then a few days later, you start feeling worthless again and the cycle continues. You're seeking external validation. Like a drug, you bui…

When a guy comes on to you too strong, he's acting needy. He's acting needy because he thinks he needs your attention to feel good about himself, because he doesn't feel good about himself just for being who he is. The root cause is a lack of confidence, and that lack is what makes him unattractive to you. If a confident guy was paying attention to you, he would be doing it in a confident way, and he wouldn't be coming on too strong. So it's not the attention in and of itself that drives you awa…

I don't think that's the whole story, though. Lack of availability doesn't cause attraction by itself. Imagine an anti-social guy who doesn't want to date anyone. No woman can have him, and yet no women wants him. So the simple fact that he's unattainable doesn't make him attractive.

I think creepiness really has to do with inner game and congruency. You come across as creepy when you don't really believe in what you're saying to them. If you feel like you're trying to trick them into liking you, there's a good chance you're coming across as creepy. If you believe you're demonstrating your value to them, don't really care if they like you or not, and you're just creating an opportunity to have a fun conversation, then you'll come across confident. I'm sure someone could go out and practive Mystery Method down to every detail and still be just as successful as Mystery was when he developed it (assuming none of the girls have seen "The Pickup Artist" on VH1). Sometimes the anticipation from sending messages back and forth online can kinda build up your expectations and cause anxiety. I always tell myself to remember that the first date is not a big deal. You don't know each other. You have no way of knowing if you'll click or not. Don't go into it expecting any fireworks. Just go have a drink, relax, and get to know each other.

Great write-up! You're totally correct, except for one thing: you don’t need to know how to Salsa If you're at a real latin dancing club, there's a good chance that everyone there really knows what they're doing, and they'll pick out a guy who doesn't know very easily. Especially if you're dancing by yourself, as salsa is a partner dance. Solo freestyle is great in a normal night club, but I wouldn't recommend it in a salsa club.

I think the author really needs to reconsider what constitutes "better off". If a guy and a girl date for a few months, and one of them decides he/she wants a serious relationship and the other doesn't, is the person who is disappointed really "worse off"? No! Of course not! Just because you didn't get what you were hoping for, that doesn't make you worse off. You can't be worse off for not having gotten something that you never had in the first place. The issue is really one of expectations.

There's a commonly held stereotype that men are the pursuers and women are the pursuees when it comes to dating. I think this gives women a natural advantage because playing the role of the pursuee gives a person good game. But playing that role because society told you it's the role you're supposed to play is different from playing that role because you realize it's a good idea. So that's why they're generally better at playing the game and worse at giving advice about it.

I think what defines a creep is a guy who doesn't connect with people. He's always on the outside looking in, because he doesn't understand what others are thinking, and nobody knows what he's thinking. Introverts tend to have a habit of coming off as creepy because they don't open up to anyone. Also people with low self-esteem usually don't open up because they're too afraid of scaring people away with whatever it is they would reveal about themselves. But attraction is more than logic, trust me. If attraction was all logic and reason, then none of us would end up butt-hurt, would we? Attraction is perfectly rational. Yes. Give up. Give up all hope of ever getting a girl to like you. Then keep talking to girls without expecting them to like you. You may find the freedom of zero expectations to be quite refreshing. It is only when we have given up everything that we are free to do anything.
/r/seduction25/06/12 03:37 PM

It all depends on the situation. You have to be able to gauge the girl's interest in you. If she's attracted to you right off the bat, you can escalate really fast and she'll love it. If she's sceptical, you have to build comfort with some conversation and/or dancing. The focus of your attention should be making yourself as attractive as possible. Once you've attracted a girl, escalating is easy.

I think that's why Mystery fell off the deep end in The Game. He was using pickup as a means of getting validation, and when he wasn't getting it, he felt empty. For anyone who doesn't know, the guy speaking is Owen Cook, aka Tyler Durdon from The Game. The point is, and obviously I've failed miserably to make it, is that you should always approach every potential dating situation from a position of abundance. Guys seem to spend all their time worrying about "how do I get her to like me" without ever even considering the question of "do I like her?" The key to success in dating is to attract and screen potential mates, not chase after every attractive girl you find. The minute you start overlooking a girl's flaws and seeking ways to make her li…

Two sets can be the hardest to open. You have to open both of them, otherwise one ends up bored and wanting you to leave. Sometimes you just can't win people over. I prefer to date girls who talk. Seriously. Why are you wasting your energy trying to figure out how to impress a girl who is obviously displaying a characteristic you don't like? Nobody ever comes on here and posts "How do I get this fat chick to lose weight?"

When elephants are raised in captivity, their trainers tie them to a stake using a small rope. When the elephant's a baby, it's not strong enough to break the rope. As the elephant grows, the trainers leave the same rope on it. When it reaches full size, it could easily break the rope and walk away at any time. But it doesn't because it spent its whole life believing that it couldn't.

IMO "You should smile more" sounds judgemental, whereas "You look like you could kill someone" sounds more friendly and understanding. It's better because he's empathising with the girl, not because it's witty, funny, or original. Wittiness can make you more interesting on the surface, but empathy will enable you to connect with people on a deeper level. I'd be willing to bet that a guy who uses empathy will get a lot more callbacks and a lot less flakes than a guy who relies primarily on wit.

You were succesful where they failed because you were present. You were observant. You were paying attention to her and empathising with her. Rather than interrupting her train of thought, you joined it. You treated her like a human being and not just a target. The tactic you employed is called "emotional prediction". You predicted what she was feeling and verbalized it. If you can do it succesfully, it forms an instant connection.

I'm home for the summer and I live in a pretty boring place. If you think it's a boring place, there's probably at least a few dateable girls around who also think it's a boring place. All you have to do is find them and make it less of a boring place for both of you.

So before you stand out, make sure it is in a positive way. The overall message of your post seems to be: if you can't stand out in a positive way, don't stand out. This is a very bad lesson to teach a beginner, because they just won't stand out. I'd say first learn to stand out and be confortable with it, regardless of whether it's the best way you could stand out. Then start improving on how you stand out to make it as positive as possible.

Breaking promises is wrong. As long as you're not making promises you can't keep, there's nothing wrong with dating multiple girls at once. I think a lot of people have the misconception that going on a date implies some sort of promise beyond that date, but it doesn't. I think we can blame that misconception on Hollywood's depiction of romance that always works out.

If you think you'll fall for the first girl who shows any interest in you, what does that say about you? It means you think you don't deserve female attention, and you'll go nuts the minute you get a little bit of it. You do deserve female attention, and you can get it. It's okay to date multiple girls at the same time. There's no need to jump into a relationship right away. When you go out on a date, you're not committing to anything aside from that date. You're not under any obligation to ever…

It depends on how you express it. If you come across as a confident guy who might be interested in getting down, that's can create attraction. If you beg for it or act in any way like you think you don't deserve it, then you'll instantly destroy any attraction you may have made otherwise.

Start small. Ask someone for the time. Ask someone else what they think about the weather. Ask someone else where they got their shoes, etc etc etc. Start out with conversations that are short enough that they won't make either of you uncomfortable, and progress to longer conversations gradually. Eventually you'll come across someone who's dying to talk to someone, and they'll just go on for five minutes and tell you their whole life story because you asked them what time it is.

I try to think of pickup more as a reflex than the full focus of my attention. When I go out with my friends, I'm there to hang out with my friends. Picking up women is just something I do out of habit everywhere I go. I'm training myself to start conversations with every person I meet. Sometimes it's an attractive woman, and sometimes I get her number. But if it doesn't happen, that's no big deal, because that's not why I went out.

Of course, if she doesn't reject you, just look at them and shrug with a giant shit-eatin' grin on your face. Your friends will either realize that rejection is part of the game and you just have to deal with it to get anywhere, or they'll be creepers in the corner for the rest of their miserable lives. TL;DR: People believe made-up bullshit and a lot of times they go out of their way to keep believing it even when faced with evidence to the contrary. I think we all already knew that, though, right? It seems like that's pretty much the story of humanity's entire existence. It sure does apply to religion and politics. That's a shortage mindset. It's a limiting belief. You've already lost if you go into it thinking like that. Not only is the abundance mentality not naive, it's literally the only thing women are actually attracted to. An abundance mentality has the same effect on women that a nice figure, a pretty face, and a short dress have on us.

Nice post. It's good to have motivation, and keeping in mind that other guys are working hard to improve themselves can be good motivation. But I disagree with the way you're approaching the whole situation. You're looking at it with the mindset that the girls are the judges and the guys are the competitors. I find it much more useful to take the perspective that the girls are the competitors and I'm the judge. Other guys are inconsequential. The girls are competing for my attention because I'm …

I'm having trouble understanding what you're saying. Do you think I'm being overly optimistic in thinking that it's possible to predict who's going to cheat and who's not? Do you think it's impossible and therefore pointless to try? I wouldn't call my view of people positive. In my opinion, being able to point at a woman and say she's probably the type who will cheat on you is much more pessimistic than assuming everyone's good until they do something bad.

Be an interesting person. Keep living your own life, pursuing your own interests, and making your own decisions. Include her as part of your life, but don't make her the center of it. Never be afraid to say "no" to your girlfriend.

I guess it's normal if all you're looking for is a casual hookup. If it doesn't bother you, then all is well. If this is bothering you, then you're starting to get interested in more than a casual hookup. In that case, I'd advise you to stop pursuing guys just for the thrill of the chase, and start looking for guys you... umm.... actually like.

Everyone appears to be a better person than the last person who cheated on you. Some are better. Some are worse. If you look at people objectively, it's actually not too difficult to predict who's going to cheat and who's not. Irresponsible people cheat. Responsible people don't.

Some people get cheated on by everyone they date. Some people never get cheated on. I'm convinced this isn't a coincidence. People tend to attract others who are similar to themselves. Cheaters cheat because they have low self-esteem and need constant validation from new sources. People who have low self-esteem tend to date other people with low self-esteem. Those are the cheaters. If you have a lot of self-esteem, derive it from within, and don't need or seek external validation, you'll attract…

Good converation is all about shared experiences. When someone describes an experience or a situation they're in, try to imagine yourself in their shoes, and talk about how you would feel. Stay positive. Empathize. Be "on their team". Build them up. Be their biggest fan. The truth may not always be as pleasant as we make it out to be in casual conversation. If some guy got intimidated talking to you, it's because he has low self-esteem. That's his problem, not yours. Don't try to change yourself to conform to what he or anyone expects from you. Some people just prefer to be quiet. It's not necessarily because she's trying to act like she's out of your league. She might just be the quiet type. Her lack of social skills isn't your problem, though. The important thing is to do your own thing and make your own fun. Give her a few opportunities to join in the conversation by asking her a question here and there. If she warms up, great. If not, just keep having fun. Don't let her lack of contribution dictate how you act.

Your problem is that you think you need to succeed at pickup to be happy. You feel like you're taking a risk when you talk to a girl, because if she rejects you, you'll feel bad about yourself. You need to learn to be happy without any female attention. Once you accomplish that, then any attention you get is a bonus, and any rejections you get leaves you right where you started, which is already happy. Then there's no risk to approaching, because there's nothing to lose.

The important thing to realize is that this need doesn't justify you in expecting more from someone than they're willing to give. When you do that, you're disrespecting their free will. You're treating as like a thing, not as person. You're dehumanizing them. The whole problem with oneitis is that the guy is…

I manage software development. I started as a codemonkey. Another guy I work with also manages software development. He started out as a power-user of the system. He got so good at coming up with ideas for new features that they put him in charge of it.

I'm sure there's more to this story, but I won't ask for the details. If you did anything wrong to anyone, apologize. If you didn't do anything wrong, just keep on keepin' on. If they wanted to have sex with you and you weren't into it, that's not your fault. And it's not something that has to come between you. You can still be friends with them. Maybe if you reach out to them and try to engage them as friends, they'll forget about whatever negative feelings they have towards you and start invit…

It just happens. You meet a girl. You have a heavily sexualized conversation. You take her home and have sex. You don't necessarily have to see each other again. You have to be comfortable with it to make it work. If you're unsure of yourself, girls will sense that and be turned off. If it helps, go ahead and tell a girl that you're not interested in jumping into a relationship right away. You might be surprised how many girls are okay with that.

Get this through your head: YOU are the prize. Every girl wants you because you're awesome. Stop worrying about IOIs and start focusing your attention on becoming more awesome. Pay attention to the conversation. Make a funny joke. When someone is talking about something you know about, say something relevent and interesting. When someone is talking about something you know nothing about, ask them for more details so you can learn. Making jokes and taking an interest will engage people and make t…

This is why the most important aspect of seduction is inner game. If you're comfortable with yourself, you can go out and have fun, see women as equals, get to know them as human beings, talk to them, be overtly sexual without being ashamed of it, and form real connections with them. Different approaches work differently on different girls. But most beginners don't want to hear about inner game. They want concrete advice they can use right away. So they get canned stuff like looks don't matter, …

I've often thought the same thing with regard to my father. He doesn't know jack squat about pickup. I really wish he had some of the knowledge I've picked up on Seddit and had tought it to me early on. It could have saved me a lot of rough times. I'm planning on passing this on to my son if I ever have one.

"Buy your own drinks!" The second girl, a blond, replied with a look of disapproval. As soon as she said that, I would have said "alright" and walked away. That kind of double standard really gets on my nerves. They expect you to buy them a drink, then when you reflect that expectation back at them, they respond like this. I can only imagine their reaction if you said "buy your own drinks!" to them.

If she thinks it's a trick, you're not doing it right. The problem is that she thinks tricks and techniques are disingenuous. But really, the specific advice you can pick up here and elsewhere isn't designed to enable you to fool girls into thinking you're better than who you are. When you improve your pickup technique, you're not pretending to be a different person. You're becoming a better version of yourself. And there's nothing wrong with that.

When I went to college, the first thing I did was walk down the hallway of my dorm, walk into the rooms of all my new neighbors, and introduce myself to them. They were all complete strangers, and I was walking into their new homes. My roommate at the time thought it was really weird that I did that. This gave me the impression that that sort of thing is not socially acceptable, so I stopped. I WISH I HADN'T LISTENED TO HIM!! I wish I had kept doing that. It took me ten years to figure out that …

Yeah, that's exactly right. Don't seek other people's approval or attention. Just do what you wanna do, and if they approve and pay attention, then great. If not, also great. It doesn't matter. You're just doing your thing. Like someone else pointed out, people can smell desperation a mile away and they steer clear of it. When you seek their approval, you probably come across as desperate. If you just do your thing and don't seek their approval, you won't come across that way any more.

I was gonna chime in that #3 is the only one I disagree with. None of my guy friends have ever gotten mad at me for hitting on girls. They all just cheer me on. Even if we're both hitting on the same girl, it hasn't been a big deal. It's just a contest like any other. To the victor go the spoils. Maybe it's an age thing. I'm 32. I can imagine younger guys might have more difficulty with dealing with a friend who's improving his game.

I have a female friend who has oneitis, approach anxiety, and is also a little overweight. She has no game at all. I want to introduce her to the game and start teaching her how to approach and pick up guys, but I don't know where to start. Any recommendations? (for the record, I have no interest in dating her)

When she says that you're just looking for a piece o' ass, what that really means is that she only sees you as a piece o' ass. In all likelyhood, that's all she'll ever see you as. Sorry if that's bad news, but the sooner you realize it, the better. She's only going to start a serious relationship with a guy who she's totally crazy about, and she's just not that into you. If what you really want is a serious relationship, start looking for it elsewhere. I would also recommend you dramatically ch…

I prefer "Fantastic." If you innunciate it properly, it can sound pretty fun without going too far off the script that ThrowawayPUA mentioned. Sometimes it even llicits a "why?".

When the music's too loud to talk in a normal tone of voice and still be heard, you have to rely exclusively on body language. This has its ups and downs because you can't use any witty lines or anything, but the upside is that you don't have to think of much to say. Just relax and feel the music.

I've used it. It's awesome. I really don't get why anyone would think it takes confidence to pull off or it's some kind of mind-game. It's just a personality test. Girls take them all the freakin' time. It's just something to talk about when you're running out of stuff to talk about.

I'm sort-of in the same boat. Reading this forum and internalizing its message has really made me a better man. I'm currently starting a new relationship with a girl who appears to be the woman of my dreams. It's too soon to say whether she really is or not. Either way, I'm really thankful to everyone on this sub-reddit for all the advice. It has helped me grow by leaps and bounds. I'm seeing the world from a whole new perspective now.

Some pickup techniques are boilerplate stuff that any guy can say to any girl and usually create attraction. That makes it easier to get into a relationship, but doesn't improve the chances of said relationship working out. The inner game stuff is all about becoming the best version of yourself, being honest with everyone you meet, and maintaining boundries. That stuff can improve your relationship.

Some girls do a double take when you ask them to buy you a drink. Like this is the first time any guy has ever suggested it. It blows my mind that people can live with the double standard about guys always buying drinks for girls they just met, and never question it.

Yeah, I used to put up with so much shit that I wouldn't put up with today. If you ask me, that's the most beneficial part of improving your game. When you go into a relationship with the knowledge that you can find five other girls on any given night, you don't put up with as much shit from the one you're with. Consequently, you have better relationships. If you go into a relationship thinking "this one is irreplacable!", you act like a doormat, have a terrible time dating her, and she ends up …

When a girl says, "wanna buy me a drink?", I always act like i heard her wrong and say, "What? You wanna buy me a drink? okay!" Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. But yeah, this is precisely why you shouldn't buy her the first drink. The clubs are full of girls who see guys as walking drink dispensers, and guys who are stupid enough to play along.

People tend to be attracted to others who are similar to themselves. The history of her previous boyfriends is actually a history of herself. If she has bad things to say about all her exs, that's a sure sign of one of the following two things: either she's compiling narratives in her head to make them seem like bad people because she's unable to come to grips with rejection, or they actually are bad people and she was attracted to them because she's also a terrible person.

Yeah, I totally agree with that. These days girls spend as much time trying to create the impression that they're having a good time as they do actually having it. Before the days of picture phones and social networks, the only way to make everyone think you were the type of person who goes out and has a good time was to actually do it.

Don't judge everyone on Seddit by one or two comments like this. Seddit is dedicated to the study of seduction. There are bound to be a few individuals who see it from this sort of perspective, but that doesn't invalidate the process of studying it.

I totally agree with the comment about older women. 30-somethings are cooler to be around and much better in bed than 20-somethings. A youthful body isn't any good if you don't know how to use it.
