This one is my favorite. There're still good men out there: idk bro, to each his own but I'm about to start making $125k in expensive ass california and I'm already so hyped to spoil my GF and friends, even tho I know it won't leave me with a lot to save. I could absolutely see the flip side and making your arguments if you were like me, making Just about middle-class income in an area that wasn't affordable - like, we are both frugal as hell but if all of a sudden now that I'm making money, my …

I recommend investing in a broad-based index fund that tracks the market, like VTSAX or your country's equivalent. A great book on this for beginners is "The Simple Path to Wealth" by JL Collins. He also has a blog under the same name if you google it.

I think the title of this post says it all. We buy expensive bags and it's frivolity, men do it and suddenly it's iNvEsTiNg. Gotta love how they're already changing the Birkin to "cater to masculine tastes" as well. 🙄

Yes, I was going to make this exact comment. If it’s a credit card, you don’t need the pin. You don’t even usually need the pin for a debit card when you’re buying groceries, you can just run it as credit. You only need the pin if you’re trying to take out CASH. He was likely trying to get cheap stuff at the grocery store and then get cash back, because the entire amount would just show up as one charge at the grocery store and she would have been none the wiser.

I would absolutely break up with this guy, because if he is willing to go through all this trouble to keep up a lie for two years, what else is he lying about? I also find it downright scary that men are willing to lie through their teeth and then use the excuse "Well, you wouldn't have given me a chance." SO?! Don't I have the right as an autonomous human being to date who I decide to? The fact that they feel like they can rob us of that choice because they "deserve a chance" is proof that, in …

Lately all the posts on FDS have had me asking one question: Why date us if you fucking hate us?

God, you are so right. I thought about the baby, too. He’s already shown himself to be complete scum that can’t even be bothered to protect his pregnant wife indirectly. When that baby comes, this is going to turn into a real nightmare for her. I hope she does leave, but I think you’re right about that time coming very late, and perhaps never.

Since when is airing a legitimate grievance "picking a fight?" I hate it here.

You are a fucking legend. It would be amazing if we could organize this kind of outreach in some way; like us taking "shifts" sifting through the subs where women are clearly discussing being in abusive/generally shitty relationships and reaching out to them about FDS. Even if the sub doesn't resonate with them, at least they'll get to hear from someone who will validate their feelings and offer support.

I'm a bit of an egg nog connoisseur myself. And at nearly 200 calories for half a cup of the stuff, it's a great way to pack on the holiday pounds real quick. So, if he did want to sabotage her, that's a surefire way to get it done. If it really was an honest mistake, though, she should get no pushback for turning it down.

What do you ladies think the chances are that this guy is actually upset about her not having come home an hour early everyday this past year? This woman is clearly a fucking bad ass; she brought an extra six figures into the household while working full-time and no doubt taking on the brunt of the labor as it pertains to domestic duties and child care. He’s jealous.

If she thinks that a relationship "enviable by the Gods" is even a remote possibility in this situation, then she's clearly never seen Unreal.

Another FDS rule that’s true through and through. You’ve also gotta love the comments on that link you sent, though: “Why be single when you can be disappointed?” 😂

I submit that it’s time for women to walk away from these apps. This weekend on FDS we’ve talked about the food delivery apps being a privacy/safety issue, and we already know that the ride-share apps have a well-documented history of physical and sexual assaults occurring with these companies covering it up. The truth is, we have no idea what the real numbers are, and thus no idea of the true risks involved in using these apps. It’s clear that we can’t count on these companies to protect women …

Honestly, I find just the idea of working through all of these steps with someone utterly exhausting. I agree with other commenters that people don’t normally change because, I mean, it’s possible, but look at the work it takes! I’d much rather pack my shit and run. At least then I wouldn’t spend years rehabilitating some dude only to still flinch every time he moves in my direction.

Though Johnson brags about how wonderful her husband is—grateful he doesn’t exhaust her with his neediness like a lot of her married friends—she does wish men were encouraged to examine and explore their emotions in a safe setting, like therapy, before they boil over. “I’m tired of having to replace another broken bedside table because he didn’t realize he needed to talk about his feelings,” she admits. Her "wonderful husband" frequently destroys bedside tables when he's upset?

You’re amazing for this. Can you imagine how many women the world over have reached the exact same point you were at and went through with it simply because they’d already sent a “save the date” notice out?

I love this post. One book that’s helped me a lot is “The Simple Path to Wealth.” It’s based on a blog a wealthy financier created to help his daughter manage the money he would one day leave her. He presents an amazing strategy that covers investment and financial management principles, with an emphasis on always managing your own money - no matter how much you accumulate. Now that I think of it, it would be a great addition to the FDS handbook’s suggested reading list.

I was slamming my drink down on the table like some drunk in a British pub screaming “YES!” as I read this. Way to GO, Queen. You’re literally my hero. I truly resonated with the the whole “running two lives at the same time” scenario. I swear this is reminiscent of every relationship I’ve ever been in. But when you kept watching your movie? And when you got half worried about your family and then decided “fuck them”?! I’ll remember this post, and the example you’ve set, for the rest of my life.…

And what’s crazy is that she isn’t even asking for a ring that costs 3 month’s salary. If he makes 113, that’s around 9k a month. She’s asking for a 20-25K ring, when 3 months of his salary would be around 28K. What a 🤡.

This is exactly what I was scrolling down to comment. Are men really that ignorant of how these things work?! Did he seriously think he was going to pull out her IUD and she wouldn’t notice it being ripped from her uterus through her cervix?! And that she’d proceed to have sex with him after that?! What is this fuckery?!

Wow, this sounds like life with my abusive, narcissistic ex. One of the things he’d really focus on was food, and making sure we had exactly equal amounts. In the beginning, he’d constantly criticize me for not eating enough when he cooked. I also didn’t notice the huge red flagged comments he’d make like “I wish you would get fat so then no one would know how beautiful you were but me, and other guys would stop hitting on you.” I wish I would have paid more attention to that, because I ended up…

It’s the not one-upping his intellect part for me, though. I once dated a guy who literally said that it was unfair for me to bring up topics of conversation about which I knew more than him. Maybe I’ve given up, too. 😫

Can you imagine how she must feel? Devastated that he cheated, sick at the thought of him touching her because of it, and then going mad with worry at the fact that her not touching him because he DESTROYED her is just going to make him cheat on her all over again. This poor woman is in hell.

It’s becoming super common. I recently ended a relationship where a guy tried to turn me into his forever girlfriend. He’d been convinced of its normality by the plethora of friends in his circle who had been with their girlfriends for over a decade, hadn’t proposed, and had no plans to. I used to give guys YEARS of my life, but never again. From now on, if they haven’t proposed in a maximum of 18 months, I’m out the door. By the way, this is also a reminder to never move in with a guy - it’s a …

Ugh, this makes my blood boil. I wouldn’t call some of the men I’ve dated high value, but I HAVE dated handsome men with plenty of options who were more than willing to wait to have sex with me. Also love how his definition of a HVW is a pick-me; that says a lot.
