Ugh, I had a guy do this once. Tried to hook up, I told him no, I’m not ready for that. Said fine but he still wanted to hangout and just “talk”. Not even 5 minutes later tries again, then starts the manipulation. Tells me that I’m not ready because I think all he wants is sex, but that’s not the case, he really likes me, he thinks we have great chemistry, all while slowly trying to get further and further with me. He made me question why I wasn’t ready - IT WAS OUR SECOND DATE. Every reason I g…

When I was a pick me I had a dinner date with a guy that lasted 3-4 hours. In my head, we had great conversation and it went really well. We spoke about it later on and he mentioned he thought it was a little awkward and I seemed shy. He ended up paying for it and we ended up talking for a while after, but just proof that just because you think a date went well doesn’t mean that they do. Their actions will speak to how they thought about it - he obviously didn’t give a shit, probably just with h…

Yeah I seriously doubt he just so happens to be “friends” with a bunch of girls who post sexy, provocative things. I know sometimes it’s hard to see stuff like this when you like someone, you wanna give them the benefit of the doubt. But, just because he’s better than your exes doesn’t mean he’s great. You’re going through a growth phase right now, you’ll continue to learn lessons in each guy you meet, and it’ll be easier to quickly phase out losers at the first sign of a red flag. Don’t settle …

I did bring them up and he said his preferences aren’t set in stone, but like you said I don’t want him to just be saying that to “make me happy”. I definitely wouldn’t be hoping for changes, it’s actually quite the opposite. But in reality changes can and will happen, and I’m stuck between these thoughts - if I meet someone now and everything aligns, their preferences could still change in the future, the same as someone who I meet and it doesn’t necessarily align, I don’t know which is better.…

I’m almost 30 and can’t for the life of me find a man 30+ I find attractive. Most of them never learned how to take care of themselves and are balding/have terrible skin/barely work out or don’t workout at all.

I saw a TikTok the other day that mentioned that a lot of men who are raised by strong single mothers tend to project that onto their partners. They expect their partners to also do everything because that’s the type of woman they’ve seen. It made a lot of sense

I’ve seen beautiful women get used, I’ve seen successful women get used, I’ve seen intelligent women get used, I’ve seen all of the above women get used. It has nothing to do with them. You can be the most beautiful, smart, successful, etc woman, if a guy just wants to “conquer” you, doesn’t matter what you do.

I honestly think the “wall” they’re speaking of are women that have been abused through marriage and dealing with a scrotes. Dealing with LVM will definitely age you, all of that stress.

Further proof that men only seek connection with other men. Humans are social creatures and need human connection, so why does it seem so many men are not empathetic towards women and do not care to form real emotional connection with them? Because we’re seen as a commodity, no matter how many times they say it’s not true. Most men are only able to form true connections with other men.

I totally agree, i always have a hard time dating other men when I find one I actually like. It feels pointless because they don’t measure up, but I am trying to force myself to still talk to other men. He definitely does seem eager to have my attention, and I’m not showing my cards in that sense. This only happens every once in a while, so it’s really hard to work on without being in the situation. I had this! After we broke up he got his shit together and blamed me for enabling him. Literally the entire relationship I was helping with his resume, helping him apply to colleges, I got him a job. Everything to try to help him better himself. The reality is that, biologically, men need to feel like men. In all of his other relationships the woman relied on him, and he treated them exponentially better than he treated me. He bought his new girlfriend a car and she ended up cheating on him. I h…

I saw a tik tok the other day where it was a woman in a “department store” for husbands, each level the husband offers new things, you can go up a level but can’t go down. The first level was something like “has a job”, second level was “has a job and likes kids”, cleans the house, attractive, then the top floor is all of these. Of course, the woman in the video wanted more so she went up to the roof, and there were no men left to choose from. The video really thought it was doing something. Lik…

This. I have had extremely busy days, I will respond to the people I want to respond to. The people I don’t, I’ll text them later saying “hey sorry I had a busy day”. OP is on the back burner, whether that’s intentional or not doesn’t really matter. You don’t need to be his whole universe so early on, but it shows his interest in you. This gives me such horrible flashbacks. I got a house with a few spare bedrooms and allowed my LVM ex to have his friends move in to occupy the room, thinking they were generally nice and I liked them. I ended up becoming the nag gf that would get upset when I was constantly cooking and doing everyone’s dishes, the only one going to the grocery store, dealing with chasing them down for their cut, cleaning their disgusting rooms once I finally kicked them out. Your comment is exactly me. I think the people who try to tout that we shouldn’t be judge mental about people’s situations don’t see the reality of it. My ex was the same way, but he constantly made horrible life and financial choices, which is what made him broke. I tried my absolute hardest to try to help him with that, which obviously created a weird mommy dynamic where I was creating his resume, applying to jobs, applying to schools, helping him with his credit, etc. It’s very rare to date d…

The double standard is so real. Real incels are an issue because they literally threaten women. They talk about abusing us for fun, sexually, physically and emotionally. Not even going to get into the rape and murder. Asking men to pay for dates, take initiative and act like they actually like us is not AbUsE. Not having sex with men we don’t know to protect ourselves is not AbUsE. Calling FDS incels is literally why we exist, it shows that there is a huge double standard that we cannot tolerate…

Exactly. I actually just remembered, probably about 7 years ago I went to an event he was hosting (I didn’t know it at the time) and ended up running into him, hadn’t seen or talked to him for years at that point. I was pretty drunk and literally went up and kissed him. I don’t remember this, but a few years later he brought it up and said it was one of the best moments of his life. I feel this deeply. I had a huge crush on this shy, nerdy guy in high school. We would talk on the phone all of the time but he never asked me out and it killed me. We’re both now adults and he’s moved back to my area and constantly hits me up to “reminisce” and talks about hanging out at some point, has invited me to go to events he’s hosting, but still can’t be straight forward and ask me on a date. I’m not entertaining it anymore but geez, it’s been like 10 years at this point.

They don’t actually have more value, they want to seem like they do. Men are raised to think they are gods gift to earth, but in reality men have started every war, commit over 80% of violent crimes, and can’t even wash their asses correctly, and they know all of this. But men have also been conditioned to have a perceived higher value than women just because they’re men, and that were just here to look pretty for them and make their peen feel good. Deep down they know this isn’t true, and slowl…

Trust me, most women glow up. I can’t find attractive men in their 30s at this point because none of them actually took care of themselves in their 20s and now they all look 40+ with dad bods, while me and all my friends wear our sunscreen and moisturizer and workout 5+ days a week. I’ve noticed this about my friends, as well, who are even older than me. Actually just had this happen. It’s a friends old ex, like from high school, that she recently became friends with again. We all hungout together a few times and he ended up hitting on me. I quickly turned him down. I personally don’t believe in dating a friends ex, but it may depend on how good of a friend the person is, how serious their relationship was, etc, but at the end of the day that’s probably something you should discuss with the friend
/r/askFDS31/03/21 06:36 PM

I’m in the same boat. I was out with friends yesterday and we were all discussing how we aren’t attracted to most men. It seems pretty common. I have also always felt I was bi, I acted on it much more when I was younger, but I’m not sure why hooking up with women scares me now, possibly just because I’m inexperienced with it, but I constantly think about just dating women as I don’t find most men attractive anyway and I think almost all women are beautiful/sexy
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/21 07:21 PM

Men will contribute to blame women for “putting themselves in these situations” “do go out after dark” “don’t go to bars alone” “don’t let men pick you up for a date” “don’t go back to men’s houses” but then get upset with us when we do this to them because “I’m not like that I’m a nice guy”. So which is it? You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

I went on a bike date one time and he ended up completely leaving me, I called my friend during the ride to joke about it. It was literally night time when he left me behind. Yep lol, took me a long time to break up with him because he definitely made me feel loved, but with everything else he was a terrible partner. The job I got for him - he ruined it by playing video games all day instead of working, I paid the rent, put my name on his car that I helped finance, helped him with his credit, then when he finally got his shit together, instead of helping me support US, he bought himself a sports car. I feel like having preferences and wanting someone to have something NaTuRaLlY are definitely different. You hear of people preferring blondes, but it doesn’t matter if they’re natural blonde or dyed blonde. If it’s just visual attraction, it shouldn’t matter. This is something much weirder, like a natural redhead fetish. Imagine having a daughter with this guy and she comes out with his hair color instead of mom’s.

You’re broken up now so I don’t see why it matters. But if you’re asking for future reference I think it depends on the circumstances. If you’re happy with the relationship, he treats you well, you’re both in a good financial spot, and you could see him treating you well as a husband, but he says “I think so”, I would definitely see that as a yellow or red flag, and I would try to dig deeper. You know he’s thought about the long term with you, and an “I think so” is most likely a nice “no”.

I would completely nix dating of any sort right now. You’re completely right in thinking there are some men who prey on women who are vulnerable. The only way you can get to the point you are happy alone is to be alone. It sucks at first, like really sucks, but you learn to do things that you enjoy on your own and it gets much, much easier. You’ll actually start to prefer it. If you don’t have any of personal hobbies right now, I’d spend your alone time pursuing some. Don’t get discouraged if yo…

I think it’s great in theory but in practice it isn’t as fun. There’s a lot that can go wrong. I had the same mindset as you before I found FDS, I have been single for 2 years and I don’t actually want a relationship. I would casually date, but I can’t think of 1 that was actually worth it. Sometimes I fall back into that mindset and think I just want sex or closeness with a male, then I think of all of the horrible casual sex I’ve had and that feeling goes away.

I just want to add, and correct me if I’m wrong, men with some mental issues are fine as long as they’re actively working on it/are on the proper medication/seeing a therapist. The problem is that most men (people in general, but mainly men) have mental health issues that they refuse to fix.

Right. Like, when you hear of men who like to get dominated, most people assume something might be off with him. Which is totally fine, he probably needs therapy though. When you hear of a woman who likes to be dominated, it’s NoRmAl. Women are supposed to want to be choked, slapped, forced into anal play, because we’re a “submissive” gender. If you try to do any of that to a guy during sex, the tables turn. It’s not empowering, otherwise they would want it to. It’s degrading. Regardless of gend…

FDS has helped me so much. I had a bad pickme habit of wanting to please men, which probably started with my lack of affection from my very strict father. I always wanted to make him proud. I’m not sure. The attraction is usually before I really get to know them, so I don’t know either way if they’re HV or LV. I think it’s just more of the “vibe” they give off if that makes sense, and I’m not sure if it’s generally a LV vibe. But I usually lose interest after I start to find out they’re LV. I did this, it’s not worth it. We dated for years, I stuck around because he loved me so much and was so committed. It turned into him moving in with me and financially draining me due to his terrible life choices. I spent so much time and energy trying to help him. I’m still dealing with the trauma from that relationship and it ended 2 years ago. It’s going to get worse as your life gets more intertwined and you HAVE to take responsibility for his irresponsibility because it now affects you. Lo…

“You’re just delaying your heartbreak” so you admit, you’re only using women for sex. If these “high value men” don’t wait 3 months for sex, then yes they put a lot of emphasis on sex, because that’s all they actually want. If a man wants YOU, then whether you have sex in the first month or third doesn’t matter. We don’t “play hard to get”. We don’t have sex with men early because we value ourselves, our safety, our sexual health, and our hearts. I’d rather be heartbroken by this supposed “high …

He had to put the 😇 to justify its “just a joke”! Went on a date with a guy like this once, the entire date he would neg me for being an “Instagram model” and talk condescending to me about it. Their poor fragile egos.

Journaling is a good idea, I’ll try it. And I’m definitely well aware of the red flags, it usually just takes me a couple days to break whatever connection I’ve made in my mind. I’d just rather it be more emotionally even than a rollercoaster like it is for me lol. I met them, form a strong connection, realize they ain’t shit and lose all feelings.

Hey! What do you mean by emotionally withdrawn? This is something I really need help with. I’m the exact same as you and OP, when I feel a connection with someone I always wanna dive in head first and feel unfulfilled if they don’t give me the same energy. Exactly as OP said I have a fulfilling life otherwise, but feel like something is “missing”. I need to learn to be more patient with people. What are some specific things you did?

All of this. Also, he seems incredibly insecure, and the fact that he doesn’t trust your word will make it virtually impossible for him to work on his insecurity. It’s going to be a constant battle of you needing to prove yourself and him not believing you anyway. Exhausting and toxic as hell

Yes that too! I think a big part of vetting as a whole is asking questions indirectly without giving your own input

I don’t think it’s best to pretend you like porn, because if he’s actually against porn it’ll make you look bad, and you can’t backtrack at that point and say “oh I just said that to make you confess to watching porn”. I think it’s just something you have to vet over time. Like if he has any weird fetishes or not normal sex moves, he most likely got it from porn. You can bring it up in casual conversation also, like maybe bring up something you saw in the media about it and then ask him if he wa…

As another commenter said, you shouldn’t feel bad for something you wanted. My issue is more along the lines of “rewarding” them with sex even tho I don’t 100% want it, I just wanted them to be happy with me. I don’t do it anymore thankfully, but if you actually really wanted it then don’t beat yourself up about it. It he’s HV it shouldn’t change his view of you

I could’ve written this post lol. It’s something I’m working in right now but what has helped me ALOT is not getting drinks with a guy. If we get dinner, I have 1 glass of wine and that’s it. Otherwise I don’t go on drink dates with guys. It’s not 100% foolproof but has helped me so far. Also, you have to go into the date with the promise that you will not do this to yourself. When I go into it with that mindset, also makes it easier to just say “I had a great night! Text me when you get home” a…

A smaller metropolitan area in the south that’s considered multi-cultural: - similar finance/commercial real estate bros that have bland personalities. The “finance” guys are usually actually just insurance guys - foreign “exotic” guys that think they’re hot shit because they can salsa and partying/drinking tequila is a personality trait. The biggest players - “woke”/artistic guys who are poly, “mysterious”, don’t have a car and live with room mates (aka their girlfriend) - guys with big trucks …

I had a guy like this too. When he said “I want to meet people and develop friendships and see if it develops into a relationship” I responded “so when we hangout we’re hanging out as friends, or dating?” He immediately backtracked and said he wants to find a gf. Of course he does now that I insinuated we weren’t having sex if we’re hanging out as friends. Of course I unmatched him after that. Guys that want to “see where it goes” want to put in the least amount of effort for sex and nothing els…

Yep. Last ex I didn’t wanna be superficial as he didn’t have a career, was working at some retail food place. I ended up trying to help him, got him a great job with my family. He ended up fucking up the job playing video games all day, while I paid all the rent, groceries, let him borrow my car, etc. What a waste. It is not wrong of us to expect a man to be in our bracket.

I think most guys just aren’t photogenic. There have been a few guys where I think “eh they aren’t repulsive I’ll give em a chance” and they actually are more attractive. But that’s only been a few. On the other hand some men might look good in their photos and aren’t attractive in person. So it’s a gamble either way

Exactly. They like women to approach them cuz it helps their ego, but they will most likely not wife this girl up because she was too easy.

He’s dating 3 or 4 women and is tired of starting over? Try dating dozens of men who all turn out to be liars, assholes, misogynistic, cheaters etc and tell me how tired you are of starting over. Cry me a river.

Lmfao I think I can check off almost all of those with my last relationship. Doesn’t surprise me that finally once he was able to make his own money, he used it to buy a sports car instead of help me with the rent I’ve been paying for both of us for 1.5 years. 😬

I totally get not wanting to be in a job and wanting to do something you enjoy. Your comment made it seem like you were letting your boyfriend, or “what men want” in general sway your decision. Just make sure whatever you choose, you choose for yourself and choose something that you’ll be able to support yourself on, at least until you figure out what you want to do long term. A mans opinion doesn’t enter that equation, and you shouldn’t rely on your boyfriend.

I don’t know if this is serious? You’re missing the point. You get a good career for you, not for a man. Can you sustain yourself and live the life you want as a waitress? Why would you get a career to make a man happy that may later cheat on you abuse you, etc? Your career is for YOU. Any man that doesn’t like you having a career only doesn’t like it because it means he won’t have control over you. This isn’t even man-hating advice, this is general life advice. It’s totally fine to be with some…

He did mention a few times where he would drink and go long boarding and listen to music, he does show some dependency on alcohol but I don’t think it’s affecting his life. And I totally agree, I’m holding him at arms length right now until I feel like he’s giving me the time/attention I need. I’m just not sure if it’s even worth it but I guess time will tell

No definitely not, I don’t think he’s grieving to that extent. I think he more blames himself for allowing his ex to come over. This is the actual story: they got into a fight and broke up, he ended up seeing her out one night and was cold towards her and left the bar. He immediately felt bad and reached out to her to apologize for being rude. He lived right down the street from the bar, like 2 blocks, and she insisted that she come over so they could talk and he agreed. So he’s really just ques…

I don’t think he’s using me as a therapist, he told me the only reason he told me the story is because he knows he’s been acting distant and wanted to explain to me the reason why. Also yes, we’ve gone on 2 proper dates and have planned a few more for the future.

Actually JUST blocked a guy for this. Got his IG and saw he followed insta thots (girls that post basically naked pictures and link their only fans, pages exclusively for “sexy cops” or “thick moms”, etc), just told him I’m no longer interested and blocked him. Didn’t ask for an excuse, there are none.

Yup. Casually dated a guy for almost 2 months (my usual cut off if they don’t want a relationship by that time). He told me we were sexually exclusive although he didn’t want a relationship. I found out he had been fucking other girls the entire time so I cut him off and made him a friend. We hungout once like a week or 2 ago, and I mentioned how I had met a guy at a bar that was LV (didn’t use the actual term, like the guy only wanted to hook up) and said “I don’t need more than one of you in m…
