I may have posted my approach in clubs before, but I can't remember. When I go to a club I start by walking in with a big smile on my face. Usually I am in a good mood at that point, but if not, I do it anyway until I am in a good mood. While I'm getting my first drink I scan the room and if I catch eyes with a girl, I make a silly face at her. If she smiles, or laughs, or imitates my face, I walk right up and open. If she looks away or is weirded out, I laugh and keep looking. Once I am talking…

Asking is fine. After my divorce I was in a pretty low place (obviously), and I thought it would be a year or two before I even went on a date. My co-workers motivated me to go out to clubs, but I became dissatisfied with my level of game. I read Models by Mark Manson and pretty much everything on this sub in the sidebar. I started working out and bought better clothes that fit me properly. Now I'm motivated by how much fun game is, and by improving myself. Again, I wouldn't worry about the age …

My two cents: Don't limit yourself to people in your age group. I'm 33 and most of my co-workers/friends are anywhere between 6-12 years younger than me. I am young looking enough that it's easy for me to blend in to their age group, but I hang out with the people I have the most in common with, regardless of age. It also has the added bonus of being introduced to younger girls who are flirty and fun. Try becoming a regular at places. After I got divorced, I would go to the same place for coffee…

Agreed that honesty is the best policy. I just don't think she'll take it well.

The thing of it is, I don't know if I would do it again if she is still acting clingy or starts blowing up my phone for example.

Right, but now where do I start?

I'm assuming I'm coming off as needy (which is a sticking point I have improved on), but it can be hard to tell in real time when or why it's happening. I'm going out in like 20, so I'll try to FR any successes or failures. Thanks!

But isn't it always difficult to verify and filter good sources of information? For example: I got a recommended reading list from someone on Reddit yesterday, based off their opinion and the opinion of others. That reading list may be crap, but I feel like it's less likely to be crap because I got it from a sub I trust. So in this case, I used Reddit as a tool to make a decision about what to read, and (more importantly) what not to waste my time on. I feel like with a few adjustments, it's pos…

Out of curiosity, what would be an example of an overly militant PC view from a niche subreddit?

I feel like what you're talking about is interesting for a few reasons. When you say you're quitting Reddit, I feel it's similar to an athlete saying he's quitting sports. Say you play football and get a concussion. You may say to yourself, well, I never want that to happen again, so I'm quitting football. But you may then decide to take up baseball, where your chances of concussion are quite low. But in this case, the person who got a concussion is now quitting ALL sports period. It sounds like…

Thanks for the reading list. This is definitely along the lines of what I was looking for!

I'm in the same boat as you right now. I'm 33 an divorced and also constantly thinking about how I look in front of women. For what it's worth, I think the problem is how much I think about it. I've noticed when I fill my life with other things (learning a language, playing guitar, reading, meditation, gym, etc) I feel less outcome dependent. If you are like me (which you may or may not be) you feel almost obsessed with the type of women you want to attract. My advice would be to become obsessed…

Yeah, that exact scenario you talked about is something I would never do to another human. I also see your point about the RedPill mentality of the whole thing. I guess I just became more pissed off than anything because his whole attitude sort of spoiled a portion of my evening. I got over it real fast though. :) I'm still inspired by his lack of AA, so I guess I can take the good from it and leave the horse shit behind. As an aside, he did not close with the girl he was with on the first night…

In that case, I would say I know several guys who follow that criteria, but aren't very successful with women. They are healthy, successful and low stress, but not really considered attractive.

Guy A: 21 y/o. 5'11". Pretty athletic. Student working as a bus boy in a restaurant. Total zero fucks attitude. Guy B: 26 y/o. 6'6". Not super athletic. Student working as a server in a restaurant. Actually has huge AA but most girls approach him. He's the one who ends up with the bartenders. As far as what they have in common, I would say it's that most people consider them fun to hang out with. Part of that is that when they get drunk they end up doing wacky shit, and it almost always makes fo…

Ok, I feel like it's fair to say that what they say is still intelligent. It was just something I had noticed.
