The majority of my friend circle is male- I have two best friends I grew up with that are female but main 4 are guys. The four men I hang out with are also gay, so the laws of attraction aren’t at play here but they are men. I have a very close friend I grew up with who is straight- we dated off and on and my SO knows this. My SO doesn’t care and has never expressed concern- obviously now that we are older, further apart and have our own relationship, our friendship has changed, but he’ll be at …

So, this is definitely not as sweet as most people’s stories, but still part of our love story either way. About 2 months in I was having a lot of new relationship anxiety- I suffered pretty horrific abuse as a child at the hands of a family member and that, coupled with the shit show that was my previous relationship, made it hard for me to feel calm and steady in a relationship. Just as I was thinking of going into nun mode and take time to be single and get my head together, despite how perfe…

Good idea! I’ve had treats sent to him from time to time (warm cookies, his favorite snack to share, etc) I’ll bake some goodies from scratch occasionally (we try to keep healthy stuff on hand/ not have a lot of sweets) but theyre so well taken care of there he honestly thinks it’s a waste of time to bring things to him- which is funny because this essentially boils down to him taking care of me while I’m trying to take care of him in a circle until I just now share/cook for my friends 😂

I’ll check it out! But I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. Every household is different and the intricacies of marriage and kids and finances can be finicky and I think we just have a different adult experience overall. My fiancé and I are pretty simple and non-extravagant, but we’d need to make significantly more money to have one of us stay home- higher cost of living area in an urban city (where the jobs are) and all that. But I’ll check out the book for sure- I love learning…

I’m so envious of women who are able to pack lunch and make breakfast! Acts of Service is definitely one of my love languages- and I love to cook! Unfortunately my SO doesn’t eat in the morning and isn’t interested in bringing lunch (his work provides food). I still get to make a beautiful dinner each night, but I want to participate damnit!

Respectfully, I think it’s a little different because you’re not the wife in your scenario. You’re the daughter, if I recall correctly, so the household dynamic is completely different. I don’t disagree that not every household requires two incomes- I understand from first hand experience that cutting out some luxuries can result in making a SAHP possible- sometimes you gotta get creative! But not every family can make this work- first world or not- and part of being married is doing what’s best…

Not a parent- but I was a teacher for 3-6 year olds and studied early childhood education if you’re open to my non- parenting opinion. I think him making up baby gibberish swears IS him gracefully expressing himself. I think hearing a 5 year old slam his finger in the door and say “Ah, puppy ears!” to express the general feeling of “Ah shit, that was awful!” is not only healthy, but shows emotional intelligence for himself. I personally wouldn’t share “real” swears with him- not just from my per…

Thank you! Back to your question: I don’t want to speak for all of America, especially without knowing the intimacies of your relationship, but I think we typically have a longer courtship/dating period before having the serious talks (barring more religious, conservative people or people who just “know”) has he brought up marriage in passing already? If not he might be signaling that it’s too soon but I would advise against bringing it up constantly, so once you speak your peace (“marriage is i…

Honestly, this is can be a very cultural and regional thing. In my area, people eschew marriage children until much later, while people in Salt Lake City get married much younger so I think you’ll get a huge scale of information here for what is “normal” For me, I was with my fiancé for 6 years before we got engaged- we’re getting married on our 7th anniversary. For some women, they would have bounced a lonnnnnnng time ago, but for me I appreciate our longer courtship. In that time we’ve been to…

I don’t know- she said he has that long to decide if HE wants to propose to HER. It might be a bit more delicate to say “for me to consider moving in, I would need to know a proposal was happening within the next two years” but I don’t think this is a bad conversation to have. I think if marriage is your end game (which it is for most women) having this unsexy, realistic talk is important. Because I don’t know this man enough on the first date to have a clear idea about when I should trust him e…

"I think income has nothing to do with this, length of working days is what matters." I think is a fair way to look at it- because, at the end of the day, the money has very little to do with it while the physical ability to pitch in does. If I was working 40 hour weeks, making $40,000 a year and my husband was working 20 hours a week making $100,000 a year- it would just make sense that he help keep up the house a little more and pay more. I say this, because I make more money than my SO, but m…

I’m ok with doing most of the cooking/housework because of our schedules- he works until 1 am some nights, so we adjust out of necessity. That said, I’m talking about deep cleaning (floors, bathroom, etc) he does his own laundry and definitely doesn’t just leave his stuff everywhere like a child (for the most part lol) I think honestly I’m a pretty easy going person- for me it’s a simple choice to either get worked up over something I knew when we met (he’s fine with some mess, I’m not) or try t…

I’ve lived in a number of liberal areas my whole life- I’ve never heard anybody comment negatively on a SAHM. Even amongst my super feminist friends, we have SAHM and varying degrees of labor division so we’re all just excited when our friends find a life path that works. My fiancé and I both work full time- I’d say I do more of the labor at home because I have a higher standard for the home so I prefer to do it my way. He also works later than I do, so it makes sense to make dinner instead of m…

I mean- being a RPW doesn’t mean being some cookie cutter tradcon conservative Christian. It’s a toolbox to utilize in order to maximize your sexual strategy to get the partner you want. My fiancé and I both fall on the more liberal scale- we’re a gun free home, pro choice, non-religious and our circle of friends is made up of predominantly gay people. We still have a loving, red pill relationship built on my appreciation and respect for him and I show him loyalty on all fronts. I don’t agree wi…

It’s honestly why so many children from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are at a disadvantage right out the gate. Public schools are funded a number of ways- one of them is via the property taxes of the surrounding area. The property taxes for Beverly Hills are going to be exponentially higher than the property taxes for Compton and- social issues aside- the lower income areas just can’t keep up. It’s why schools ten miles apart from each other have a huge gap in quality of teachers, supplies an…

Most history is entwined with military history- that’s how things progressed in this world- I seriously doubt that your teacher taught you guys complex, military theory. So if you’re asking if my children will know what the military is- yes. Will they know how the U.S got into WW2? Yes. Will they know how to shoot a gun and raid a village? No. I would prefer that my child not join the military- but that’s because they would be in physical danger.
/r/RedPillWives19/12/18 06:49 PM

Military history & theory isn’t a subject taught in school. It’s taught, with or without your help, to a person when they enlist. Do you think army recruits show up with battlefield tactics on notecards and a “Guerilla Warfare for Dummies” book in their bag?

I don’t think they were created in education- I think we have slowly evolved away from that. Generally, men and women had the extreme version of this- if they received an education at all. I think the gender roles we do have in school are just leftovers from when when most schools/ colleges were for men only and women were taught by their mothers in the home to snag a man by 17.
/r/RedPillWives19/12/18 06:35 PM
4

Ah- we’ll if you’re looking for me to say that I think women shouldn’t receive the same basic education as men then I’m afraid I don’t share that belief. But, I think that comes from a difference in background between the two of us- hopefully if you do have a daughter you will be in a place 18 years from now to accept she might not be happy as a housewife and support/encourage her if needed. I might be a SAHM in the near future- so I’m not against it but my (traditional, very masculine) husband …

Yes- all of my domestic improvements happened outside of the classroom because they don’t teach home ec in college. I had an interest in learning how to be more frugal and careful- and I love cooking so that became a hobby- all stemming from the good ground work my mom laid. I also read a lot, so I tend to take the suggested reading list and run with it. But I don’t think STEM is one of those things you can virtually ignore and then become an expert in as an adult on your own, as a general rule.…

All of the basic ones I mentioned above. I can’t teach children about keeping their bodies healthy if I don’t know how the body works- so biology. I use math every day and apply knowledge from my computer science classes as well as my phychology classes almost daily. I’ve even had wonderful chats with my fiancé’s boss about astronomy- something I also learned from STEM- which I don’t use very often except for the odd conversation and when pointing things out while camping but it’s fun to talk to…

As qualified as I am to teach my kids in a homeschool setting, my fiancé is 100% dead set against homeschooling in general. We’ll be sending our kids to public school, possibly private for preschool/kindergarten. From experience, there are a lot of failings in public schools but a lot of the things that prevent children from progressing as they should (nutrition, access to secondary educational support, parental involvement) can be undone at home so I’m not worried about it. Especially in our ar…

I’ll jump in, since I studied early childhood education in college (which required a certain amount of STEM education for basic math) and taught children in both an early age classroom and a secondary school setting. I’m also super domestic by nature so could probably teach home ec lol If she ever wanted to go to college or have any sort of advanced placement in high school, she’d need to pass certain STEM courses. Mathematics up through Intermediate Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, Physics- these a…

For me- the kitchen essentials have been built up over the last 10 years. The good stuff is always pricey, but worth it in my opinion. For example, I use my Kitchenaid Mixer 3-4 times a week- it cost me almost $300 but for someone who makes a lot of food from scratch, it’s invaluable. I wouldn’t recommend that out the gate, since you’re new to living on your own, but just an example of how a “kitchen essential” varies from person to person based on age, income and need. But! I second the suggest…

From your post- I don’t think you’re ready to live with someone, least of all this guy. That said, I would personally never marry a guy I didn’t live with first. I live with my fiancé and we’ve lived together for a couple of years- we have all of our routines, schedules and responsibilities down pat and I feel 100% ready and comfortable going into our marriage because of that. Agree 100% My fiancé IS a gamer- that’s how he unwinds at the end of his 12 shifts. He works in the industry too, so I would say video games is one of his passions and he’s also a way he “hangs out” with his long distance friends. But, we have designated date time/ unplugged time and when he is gaming, he’s still very much present. It’s nice because I get to read/do skin care stuff/ watch my girly things but I’m still near him. If he was a guy who blew me off to game, or had no balance that woul…

I have the higher sex drive in the relationship, so I’ve only turned down sex like twice-I’m ready to go whenever- both were during times where I was on my period. Made up for it 2 days later lol BUT we don’t have kids or anything so we haven’t had to deal with other “not in the mood” scenarios that a lot of couples deal with- which I see has to do with a baby crying/post partum stuff/ pregnancy stuff a lot of the time.

Personally, I hold off on giving unsolicited advice in general so if I ever do bring something up, my SO knows it’s probably something I feel strongly about and he weighs it pretty heavily. That said, we put a huge premium on communication, so anything big that would require my advice in the first place he comes with me to get an opinion. I know this isn’t always a popular thought around here, but he is genuinely one of my best friends and vice versa- we have other friends that fill the gaps for…

One thing I would point out, while you’re new, is that RPW is a toolbox to enhance your sexual strategy to have the relationship you want with your man. We don’t eschew education or accomplishments by default in favor of looking good- the two aren’t mutually exclusive. There are women here from all walks of life- librarians, SAHMs, educators, high powered executives- just like we have differing political/religious backgrounds. True, it’s not set in stone that you HAVE to have a Masters in order …

Thank you both for answering! I always find these topics as interesting as they are tiresome (because this particular topic tends to just go round and round in a circle of “Yes they do” and “No they don’t” backed up with mostly anecdotal evidence) but I was genuinely interested in hearing your side of it. I think your comments sum up the gist of it though, that high value men want their partner to meet their expectation of a high value woman. For some engineers it’s finishing the degree- to show…

Can I ask, if it wasn’t a deal breaker or necessity, why his first reaction was to send you back to finish? The internet makes it hard to hear my genuine interest in the answer- I’m in no way trying to sound sassy or smart by asking.

That’s great if you’re looking for easy and versatile. Lots of neutrals (navy, black, grey, white, etc) and you can add smaller things for pops of color (silk scarf, bright flat/heel,etc) JCrew is great for this, Banana Republic and some of Gaps nicer stuff was great when I worked in a bank. Dresses were also my go-to (one piece instead of 2-3!)

We are a one car household and since my fiancé works way north of us and I work a small distance to the downtown area, I commute via bus. This means my commute is about 30 mins so I wake up at 9:30 am so I can be at work by 11. Wake up, shower (any “long” shower items like shaving are done at night) do my skin care day time regimen, makeup (light B.B. cream, concealer, eyeliner, mascara and lip) blow dry my bangs (or all my hair, if I’m wearing it down) and get dressed. I second this. Also, I am very concerned that you’re logging out because he’s home- I hear genuine fear behind your words and your partner should never be a sense of fear for you. He should be, amongst other things, your safety in the storm, not the storm itself and you should always feel safe around him. I’ll also add- because I didn’t answer your question about knowing when to leave first. I was with my previous boyfriend for five years. After the third time he cheated (including one time he exposed me to- but did not share with me- an STD) and the two years on unemployment where he worked on his art (which meant me working 2 jobs through college to support us) I had a moment where I realized he was totally useless. Oh dear- I just want to give you a hug- this sounds really hard. If I can ask, what are you arguing about when he lashes out in such a way? I am in no way excusing him or think there is justification for lashing out with physical or verbal abuse on a partner so I’m asking for the full picture. Does this happen in a 0-60 scenario? Does this happen only when everything else is going wrong? Either way, I think there are more red flags here than necessary for me, personally, to stay with a person li…

Does he give you a heads up or say he’s running late? His time isn’t more valuable because he’s a man- timeliness equates to good manners. It’s one thing if he’s ALWAYS been late and you knew this going into it- you can’t change the way somebody is and have to weigh how important a persons “flaws” are to you during the vetting process. From what you’re saying though- lately he’s been late and flakey with time. I happen to think being late to everything isn’t cute or endearing- I think it shows a…

I also have a small (one basin) sink. I’ll have the sink full of warm, soapy water to put items in as I cook. After eating, the eatery also gets a quick soak while I put away leftovers. Then I just drain and scrub under running water. But, I’m also a weirdo who washes my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, so everything but pots and pans/ special dishes go in there after the initial wash but this was how I washed them pre- dishwasher.

I’m reading “My Dark Places” by James Ellroy. It’s a [very graphic and honest] account of the unsolved murder of the author’s mom in the 1950’s. I’m reading it for book club and while I like true crime this wasn’t my first choice since I think it will be hard to discuss and it’s just fact heavy/sad. I think there is a lot of good advice so far about how to make sure the date continues outside the home to mitigate him trying to take it to the next level. I would also, if you’re comfortable bringing it up, let him know your stance and why it’s important to you to wait a bit. If you’re not comfortable, that’s okay! In our case, yes. My SO works until 1:30 a.m and I get home by 8:30 so dinner, dishes, laundry for the next day, night time pet care, last minute store runs, etc all fall on me. Is it “fair”? Probably not to most people, but to make it equal world require asking my tired, hard working fiancé to make me dinner at 1:30 in the morning- it’s much easier to knock everything out and have a yummy dinner waiting and be ready to spend time together. Did you guys discuss this before marriage? This is a big thing to have never discussed, so I’m curious about what you have been doing so far and what (if any) was the agreed upon arrangement. My advice would honestly depend entirely on that- though generally I’m a fan of splitting the work by tasks/ adjusting as needed (one of us is sick, out of town, etc)
/r/RedPillWomen10/06/18 06:25 PM

Yeah- I can see the value in a positive, grateful response. It doesn’t really sound like “me” and I might say it a bit differently but the overarching reasoning is solid.

This is a good response- and I think there is a lot of value in showing appreciation and positivity when somebody feels like hell. I think this would be similar to my follow up text after hearing back from him or like something I’d say in person with a big hug.
/r/RedPillWomen04/06/18 01:41 AM
3

That’s what I said, sorry if that wasn’t clear- I’m not judging if he’s doing it “right” or not but I’m judging the situation as a whole to figure out how to respond in a helpful way. I’d also like to mention we don’t have kids, so this is all conjecture without the experience of actually adding kids to our dynamic lol

I hesitate to place a judgement about if he’s handling it well or not- kids can be assholes and anyone can crack. Paired with plans going awry and a tummy ache? Rough day. I will say that my SO doesn’t vent like this unless he really means it or needs help- he’s typically very patient and calm so if he’s feeling flustered and telling me about it via text when I’m presumably busy (instead of while we’re cleaning up dinner when we have our “what happened today” chat)- he’s looking for a practical …

I’ll do this from a running errands within close proximity POV- because if I’m out of town there aren’t a lot of actionable things I could accomplish in the way of help (other than letting him vent if needed, offering sympathy if that’s what he’s looking for, etc) I would probably try to get a time frame for how much longer I’d be. When you’re stressed or overwhelmed, knowing it might only be another hour feels much better than an indefinite stretch “I’ll be home soon.” Then when I get home I’d …

TRP ( and by extension RPW) is amoral and doesn’t have a specific political affiliation. Are the majority in the more right-wing sphere? I would say so, but you’re not really sampling Orthodox Jews on bacon here. I’m sure there are many RPW like this- there a lot of non-RPW like this and then I’m sure there are RPW who's teeth are set on edge by this kind of article. This is a tool box, for us to understand our human nature as women and improve ourselves and learn sexual strategy from a red pill…

This is definitely not an easy situation to be in- I’ve been both in your shoes and his when it comes to the past and it’s tendency to come back to haunt us. A little anecdote: my SO and I have been together for almost 6 years (now engaged and living together) early on in our relationship, he broke up with me and started seeing somebody else almost immediately. Quickly enough where I assumed he had cheated on me (he says he didn’t, I believe him based on the 6 years experience we have) We ran in…

To answer your question- no. I have never- in the 5 years I've known my SO- been afraid of him. I've been afraid for him, or have experienced anxiety about situations we've been in (temporary, solvable and not long term serious) but I've never been scared of him. All "exploratory" situations of this nature (kidnap fantasies, weapons, etc) in the bedroom are HUGE leaps and should be brought up and discussed before engaging. This is one of those situations, where you saying " This isn't something I…

Great post! We eat a lot of garlic in my house- and I keep a jar of minced garlic in my fridge for "need garlic fast" days. For a good smelling home, I like to use the stove method. Simply simmer water on the stove for 30 mins to an hour with your favorite ingredients. I love apple peel, orange rinds, cinnamon and cloves together the best but you can use a lot of different natural ingredients- smells yummy and all natural!

For us, I tend to be the indecisive one who is just content to be around each other and call it a day. Movie? Sure. Bowling? Cool! So for my S.O it's a particularly sweet and romantic thing for him when I have a plan. Not all the time because he likes to plan things too, but once in awhile I'll be like "I bought these tickets for this movie you've been wanting to see- let's go!" or surprising him with something I know he needs (like new pajama bottoms) instead of pulling out his old pair he find…

Well- you've been married a lot longer than me so maybe there's something to that logic! In all seriousness though, I have pretty bad anxiety, which easily keeps me up when I'm trying to hash out a fight we're having while I'm laying in bed alone. Luckily! The fights are few and far between and pretty short- so not to much sleep is lost. Besides, making up is the fun part! :)

That's totally fair- I think when there's a particularly tense moment then that is the best course of action. Full disclodure- I'm usually the more emotional of the two (surprise!) so it's really me not going to be angry 99% of the time- and a silver lining is that it's not to hard to cool me down haha. But I'm very lucky that I can utilize self control to mitigate most fights- I'll probably cool down in the 15 mins it takes to think about it/get his attention hahaha

We don't have a mission statement for our family, so much as a working verbal goal sheet we set forth. We never go to bed angry with one another, the one who leaves first always tries to kiss the other one goodbye who is still sleeping (I've been known to groggily exclaim "my kiss!" When he thinks I'm too sleepy to get one!) and we always make big decisions as a team (his idea that I happily go with). As we approach marriage, we've knocked out our financial goals, as well as plans for travel and…

I think this is an excellent point and while in my case the answer is "yes" because of the relationship/communication we've built up- I know this isn't the case for everybody. Potentially some neutral language may help here. "I would love to be what you think a family is, does changing my name fall under that umbrella?" Vs. "Do you want me to take your name?" (Just an idea- not concrete by any means?)

We've never talked about it seriously- he's very masculine and while he is pretty progressive and modern- taking his wife's last name isnt an option. Hyphening mine? Yes. Keeping mine? Yes. I'm okay with it though- he's the best!
/r/RedPillWives27/02/17 05:29 AM

I think it depends on what your husband thinks. Since we're getting closer to our wedding date, it's something I'm thinking about a lot. Both of our last names are long and unique so a hyphen wouldn't work. I'm excited to take his last name but a little sad to see mine go- it's a family name with a lot of history and passed through the mother not the father so it's also breaking a tradition. But! It's important to me that our family/babies have the same name.

I started it casually in my freshman year of college. My final project for my class was to interview a woman who was older than 40 so I chose my maternal grandmother. She's from Sweden and has such an interesting life. I found myself writing all these names down, only to keep going further once my project was done. It's grown from there. Now that I'm getting married, I've started interviewing my S.O's family, since they're DRT members and have an interesting history as well. I want our children …

What's your before bed routine like? Sleep hygiene is a big deal for me otherwise my motivation for falling asleep/waking up is none. This is a wonderful reminder, and something that is a small gesture that goes a long way. It's so easy after 4 years to "know" what mine will say to different things. Sometimes, without thinking I'll just make plans with the best intentions and think " why did I do that?" Like yes, his days off are xyz and he'd obviously want to do this thing with the people we love BUT a simple " we got this offer- I thought I'd check to see how you're feeling" goes a longggggg way. Good: I'm down about 10 pounds overall! I know it's not a lot- but it's one step closer to my goal weight. Bad: not working out as I should. I'm trying to find a good class though. Ugly: I need to clean my house but I don't want to and I just need to get over it and stop being a baby. My house is never "bad" but it's not to my standard ha. Dessert: French vanilla creme brûlée. I think we both have a pretty clear understanding of the specifics in our relationship. We're not married yet, and a ring is just a representation of our promise of fidelity (as opposed to the public ceremony declaring you're a family mentioned above) and not an Unbreakable Vow. That being said- I don't count porn or flirting (without intent) as cheating. I count emotional affairs as cheating, but I think they're easier to move past than a physical affair(depending on the severity). I.e sexting …

I'm doing Weight Watchers. I'm very much celebrating the win of 3 pounds while keeping in mind that a) coming off of Thankgiving week is easier because I'm eating less already and b) water weight is real. I think 1-2 pounds is more realistic going forward/long term. I've also been doing 30 mins of high sweat cardio. Good: I started my diet last Monday, with a clear goal of working out for at least 30 mins a day. First week, 3 pounds down. Not a lot, I know, and weight falls off easier in the beginning but I felt proud. Bad: I quit smoking 3 months ago and yesterday I fell off and had a cigarette out of stress.
