Try not to suggest going to her place if you are not talking with her face-to-face. There is no build up to doing so if you just ask her via text. If she just lets any guy who asks come over, I wouldn't like a girl like that too. Always meet her outside and build up to going over. When asking to go over, suggest a natural activity. For me, it depends on the situation. If it's a group and it would be to weird for me to go one on one with the girl, I would try to get people involved and share the conversation. But for preference, I would talk one on one with the girl. I also found that most effective in attracting girls.

You just have to practice. You have to build up confidence. Start my approaching people within your network that you will not be awkward approaching. And also try to approach people with the mindset that you will get rejected and you want to learn from the reason you will. That's a great observation. To some extent, I agree completely. But then again, I've hooked up with girls over Tinder on the first date and got her to like me before we even met. But like you said, I think the time when I met them is what I'm working on at the moment too. I definitely put in the effort. But it fizzles and they take a long time to reply and I don't want to reply immediately too as it might seem desperate. Also there is a natural language barrier. I'm pretty good with Japanese but theres a limit to that too.
