Never ever send nudes. This is the only way to avoid such a situation and if the man does not respect your decision to do so, next him. Also I can't fathom the mental gymnastics this woman is doing to justify something that is entirely disgusting, a huge invasion of her privacy and putting the pickme role of not wanting to "kinkshame". So many of us are right to have trust issues when these types of behaviours are done by our supposed significant others.

Don't remind men, just replace them - that's my new motto moving forward. I've no time or energy to have to "communicate" with a man who is deliberately making actions that garner a negative response from me. Boy bye.

No bevause if I'm going to actually make time to date someone, something I've been happily not doing for a while now, I'd rather it be an adult man who is aware of how the world works, the patriarchy, his very own biases and I for sure will never ever make it my burden to explain it to them.

Do not build a man, he may never repay you. That's a sermon right there. I do hope that this causes her to shift her way of thinking and get into the FDS mentality

I'm from a country where doing so is literally unheard of. Honestly, it's very degrading to do so, I'm not a property that was acquired by my husband to have my last name changed, it's also borderline disrespectful to my family that I'm very proud of, even if I didn't get to choose them or the generational trauma that they involuntary passed on to me.

This is very sad, but I don't get it. Sure, most of us have had our awful share of staying with a man longer then he deserves and giving second chances,etc..but this is too much. Literally adding no value at all, in no way a partner and an active cheater? We need to do better and I sure do hope she wakes up ASAP and realizes her life is actually worth living in abundance and not this bs.

This guy made it his mission to insist that I have flat feet (I don't) after seeing me being complimented by some mutual friends for my pedicure. He hated that I liked the compliment and how I actually like my body, feet included. He would not let it go and inserted it in every discussion. What stopped him? I decided to simply ignore him instead of trying to prove him otherwise. That asswipe really taught me what negging lvm look like.

This is definitely a red flag for me too. I'm also more of a homebody, but like you said, dating is meant to be an experience, I want to do the unconventional and explore new places with this new person. Also, life is about balance, liking staying at home or being an introvert does not mean literally never stepping outside. A man telling me he prefers to just kick it at home and watch movies or whatever, is giving you a full preview of the boredom that he offers. I'm good, on to the next.

Neg right back and cut them off - it really is that simple and they don't deserve to even get a reaction back. I used to do the "ooo..k 😒" until I realized that is the kind of reaction they want to see. Nah bruh, no more.

Realising how so much fun, quiet and stable my life is without a man at the center. I'm a serious romantic that was always left disappointed, unfulfilled and bamboozled whenever dating or in a relationship. Also, the amount of tiiiime I have to do absolutely nothing and everything my heart desires is too good to give up.

Seems like too much work for a man, I'd rather we encourage them to pursue their careers/dreams/whatever they want and that coupling should not be the main goal for them to invest so much time and money on. As much as I respect the importance of vetting, it's so exhausting to me that I'd rather stay single, because I'm the one who is losing time, sleep, overthinking, reading between the lines, analysing, etc...for what? Dick is abundant and too low value for all this effort.

Good on you. I'm very protective of my time and energy, the latest any guy can make plans with me is 24 hours in advance and if they show up late (unless it's a life or death situation), I'm out. You only get one chance with me, because if you don't respect my time chances are you won't respect me as a person.

Basically how we were raised. I don't recall ever being explicitly told these things but they were so heavily implied in culture and religion, they just became the standard. Ironically, I was aware that virginity was a social construct to control women, I wanted a marriage that we rooted in actual partnership and never wanted kids so jokes on them.

Having boundaries is a clear sign of healthy personal and interpersonal relationship behaviours. You respect yourself enough to know what does not gel well with you, everything you were told is clearly pickme nonsense. The whole window shopping thing makes it seem like she's okay with being an object, which we are NOT. You deserve a partner who not only respects your boundaries but has respect for himself too

I started questioning Islam as a teen because I could not tolerate the misogyny, sex slavery and killings, amongst many red flags in that religion. So in short, I'm agnostic and glad that I can exist in this world by wondering and asking questions without ridiculous limitations of man made religions.

What. Where is this please so I avoid visiting/dating someone from there. I'm from a very poor country with horrible infrastructural conditions (constant water and power cuts) and its extremely rare to find someone with bad hygiene...they would refrain from going out if they couldn't shower and its customary to take minimum one shower a day.

Touch is a powerful thing that should not be granted so easily and so quickly to a man. That's why whenever I hear of stories where people slept together on the first date or started as a hook up and became long term, the praises usually come from pickmes and upon further inspection, these relationships either end super badly after a long period or the flame burns quick and it's on to the next one in a matter of months if not weeks.

You reminded me of my shirt lived OLD stint in 2019 and early 2020 - I can't recall a single profile that stood out or.l seemed genuine. I mean, how many flags do you have to put on your profile, we get it, you travel. Also it seems they all went to the same overhyped locations of that time period (Sri Lanka, Bali, Tanzania, etc.) and got the same photographer too 😂

Not necessarily, many men from my ethnic background have extreme colourism and sexism deeply ingrained within them as it is sadly a part of our overall culture. The younger you are, the lighter your complexion, the straighter your hair and the lower your ambition (education, career, personal aspirations, etc..), the more likely you will get "picked". Otherwise, they view us as delusional, ugly, spinster hoes who are miserable for staying single or dating other ethnicities.

Posts like this used to irritate me in my pre-FDS era because it grows the idea that hey, you too are the exception not the rule..stop oVeRtHiNkInG and "getting in the way" of your magical love story by following all these "rules" and just be a cool girl that accepts whatever she is offered. Nah thanks, I'll keep vetting since we don't do bare minimum here.

Getting older, libdo getting stronger, options of HVM seem nonexistent where I live so I continue staying single because I know what I deserve..its driving me nuts. I grew up in a society that glorifies marriage and although I'm grateful for my life and career, it's just, UGH. A short rant, thanks for tuning in.

Injecting chemicals to force my face to stay younger when it's meant to age anyway, sounds very unnecessary to me. I'll take care of myself as much as I can and embrace the changes.

Incredibly relatable. I love love and being in a committed partnership but yo the amount of work needed to make sure it's not yet another LVM is not worth it. Enjoying my single life and open to possibilities if they come with ease and sincerity

Feeling sorry for myself tonight because so many of my peers and younger cousins are/have met and married their partners and I'm still struggling to meet a man who is not an utter scrote or just a complete waste of my time. I spent most of my youth and twenties single because I did not want to settle for less and so I focused on family, career, health, etc. And now at 30, although somewhat satisfied with my life, I'm having a Charlotte "where is he!!" moment. I'm a single, big softie and lover of romance. I've always embraced and loved myself and I'm very aware that settling is NOT an option and so glad to have this community to continue to learn and level up with. However, I can't help but daydream about my yet to exist HVM partner only to constantly be turned off with the men I met/interact with IRL. Vetting is necessary yet everytime I am disappointed. I don't think I believe that men can truly love women..

So true! I'm so proud of young me, when I decided to go through with transfering to college in another continent and did it anyway, much to the dismay of my then ex scrote. Everyone in my life was so excited for me, except for him, he tried to kill my vibe and actually did some horrible things to me but I went and graduated with honors, what did he do? Drop out repeatedly.

Moved to my new home recently and in my decor plan is to frame a painting I'll make and put it right in the middle of my feature wall in my bedroom with "if they wanted to, they would" written on it. So whenever I am in doubt, I get the instant reminder...and this is for men and friends alike.

I'd always cringe when friends would claim that their boyfriend or husband wouldn't approve of an outfit or item of clothing. Oh and cue the explanation after I clearly roll my eyes at them "It's not what you think! I actually love that about him" yeah sure ya do..NEXT

My super traditional mother who places the value of a woman on how early she gets married, is showing improvement about the fact that I'm single, unmarried and approaching 30. She changed her rant from "why are you still unmarried 😩" to "you deserve to find someone who respects your career, lifestyle and is supportive..now find him quickly 😒". This is quite funny to me. This sub combined with the lockdown, has helped me uncomfortably detox myself from terrible shituations, forgive myself and really got me thinking again about my value and my high standards. Fragile and toxic masculinity, mind games and emotional abuse are not my problem, I am fulfilled and will continue to work on being there and better for myself and for the people in my life. I feel so much lighter since dropping the mindset of being with a man, truth is, they never added anything to my life.

I just found a post on the Forever Alone subreddit, which I frequent sometimes, about a man who realized how porn messed him up and how he has since quit. It was so wholesome to see how some of the comments addressed that it is evil and being exposed to it from a young age can mess you up and how they now know better. They are waking up and even if there are a few, it means there is hope!

Looks like he got bored of his younger, child free mistress and realized its not all sexy once he lived with her. Talk about faux self awareness, still blaming his wife for his mistakes while trying to sound like he has feelings. Bye, bye loser. In my pre-FDS days, when I was having a period of being open to dating and all that, I would text the guy an hour before to see if it's still happening. If I didn't get a response I'd already have a backup plan. Now? Much like OP, I'm done with all that, too much trouble for no good reason

Savage, love that! That happened to me once and so I ordered myself hot cocoa and some cake and then he eventually showed up (he said 15 mins on the phone but showed up after 40 mins) and I made no effort whatsoever to seem interested or interesting. He kept apologising for being late and as he talked I zoned out and enjoyed my cake. After I was done, I asked for the bill (which he insisted to pay and he did), wished him well and made my way out.

Had very low faith in the past 5 or so years. This never made sense to me, I grew up understanding what feminism fundamentally meant and since my culture is rather backwards, woman did not have basic rights (education, child marriage, FGM, etc) so the last thing on my mind was to cheer on some slut walk led by a rapper's girlfriend when our women can't even safely cross the streets in daylight.
