Lol I don’t know where it went! How old are you? My friend is in her early 20s met her boyfriend on Tinder but they just started grad school, super young. And taking things slow for the last year because their age - smart! I don’t know anyone else who has had success or that I would classify as a high quality partner from that app. Okc, hinge, and is fb dating a thing? Those are probably better so you can really put a thorough profile up and vet. It takes a long time, I guess. My ex husband, who isn’t too horrible, met his gf on christianmingle. None of us are religious.

I don’t know if I can ever look at another dating profile again so I’m team: in person. But you do have online options and then keep Tinder for the ridiculousness, if you want. There’s something about it that encourages laziness, low effort in my experience and I can’t even summon the patience. I’ve seen all of the same bios you have and I’ve dated some really unbelievable people from there in my past. If I ever want to put myself out there online again, I’d do fb or okc.

I’m 23 and in grad school. I feel that based on how people interact with each other, grad school is more like a job than college, and OLD is pretty much my only way to meet people. I know friends who met decent guys on tinder, but none of them worked out. People keep telling me that not all guys on tinder are looking for hookups, and I believe it, but it’s too much pain looking through 500 trashy profiles to maybe find a decent one.

I get what you mean. There might be good guys on tinder, but they probably won’t put as much effort on tinder vs say okc, because it’s tinder. If I matched with the same guy on okc or hinge (suppose he’s also on those apps), he might put a lot more effort than on tinder. So just because everyone’s on tinder doesn’t mean things are more likely to work out.

Before the quarantine I’ve met people on bumble and hinge. Both user bases are small and with filters, profiles run out quickly, but people are more serious there and I’ve met some really interesting people. Although bumble’s “women message first” has put me off ever since I found FDS. With tinder, I have more matches, but couldn’t have a single interesting conversation.

I’m seriously thinking about moving to a larger city like nyc after grad school. The dating scene here is just dreadful :/
