I will forever be so thankful that I grew up with a HVM father. I could write a giant post about him, but really he just got it and set my standards so high. He was genuinely amazing to my mother and I, and to top it off, did all of the cooking and cleaning ;)

I just....nope. Luckily my wonderful boyfriend's 15 year old daughter already understands red flags, points them out in movies/TV and has 0 tolerance for male depravity. They're learning faster and sooner, thank goodness.

What the holy fuck. I had an old ex bf that got a boner everytime I cried. Fucking weird. No thanks.

Totally agree on legit exes. What about the women they went on a date or two with but both decided they were just supposed to be friends? I only ask because I have genuinely wonderful male friends that started as potentials but we got along better as friends and I want to get more thoughts.

To me, needing him implies something within myself is in negative value and missing already. That is not the case. He should only add. I think a more accurate description would be appreciated, valued and capable. My man knows I don't NEED him, but he (like me) enjoys hearing positive reinforcement about how much I appreciate and value what he adds to my life and experience. There are times where he wants to support me and show me love but isn't sure he's adequately doing that without my feedback…

Honest to God, best TV relationship I've seen that is healthy and respectful and not used to define the female character or create toxic drama, was between Henry and Elizabeth McCord in Madam Secretary. Her character was so awesome and charismatic and smart and poised. Loved it. Tea Leoni played her well!

I personally like it, as long as it's clean and reasonable in size. I enjoy knowing how good I am at it and that there is so much desire involved. I get turned on by doing it, same with passionate kissing...BUT, I don't enjoy them if they're expected or demanded and LORD HELP YA if you try and touch/push the back of my head down during it. I'll clamp down, go ahead.

One time. ONCE. A man slapped me in the face while we were kissing. I swear I saw red and my conscious mind left because I apparently grabbed him by the throat and slammed his head on my table and yelled at him to never touch me again. Oddly enough, he was into that and wanted to be man handled some more so I kicked him out, locked the door and never spoke to him again. I don't advocate for trying this as I was lucky he didn't escalate further, but this was my way of saying hell no. You can mayb…

And you're 1000% allowed to grieve him, that version of him he convinced you he was. You can grieve this change. Just be weary of romanticizing any of it. He sounds like a BAD man. Not just LVM but straight up should-be-in-prison, BAD. None of this is your fault and there will always be some Should've Would've Could've. But you played the ultimate move, leaving. I and all the women here are so damn proud of you and are here to help support you every step of the way, even when you get those littl…

So proud of you. When the anger sets in, and your blood boils, looking back on all the shitty things he did and you just want to contact him to tell him off or get it all off your chest or get closure...don't. be angry, feel what you need, but he will never hear you or empathize with any of your pain. Get closure on perhaps never getting "closure" and lean into the healing. He will never react in a way that'll make you feel good about opening that door again, even just a little to speak your min…

Yes yes a million times yes. I have been with a suspected HVM for over a year now and he does so many things to take care of me and that benefit me, simply because he wants to, knows I like it and he feels good making me happy. He has even stopped me from doing stuff for him until he's "earned" it. He never uses the word deserves with himself.

Eh, as a prior pickme that hooked up a looottttt, and is now in a happy, healthy monogamous relationship without the "loopholes"....I'd like to think that depending on why they were FBoys, they could also wake the hell up someday and learn better. Emphasis on "like to think" lol

A friend of mine ran into this issue with her guy and unfortunately their solution was to make their own "videos" and let him watch that instead.... I'm so afraid that she'll find herself floating around the internet someday :/

My ex: wanted to watch me get "DP'd" by two men while he "held me and kissed me". Aka, he wanted to watch me get injured and raped and suffer. *Knowing I've been raped before My green flag man: in a year has never once called me anything derogatory in bed or otherwise. I've never even heard him call any woman a b****. He is tender and intimate and always, always, prioritizes my pleasure in bed. SUCH a difference.

I've been seeing a single father of 3 for a year now and he very clearly respects our boundaries. I am his girlfriend, not their step mother. He handles the balance very well. And this lady needs to run far, he's already acting like he's hooking up with the babysitter.

I turned down a proposal because I was not giving up on my professional goals and marrying him would absolutely impact my work. We're both military. Never regretted it a day. He was great, but it wasn't meant for me.

When girls think passionate sex means rough or violent. No. No no no. Absolutely not. Tension can be tender and full of respect. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

I'm in the military and there are a few HVMs there, but not many. And they are mostly already snatched up by lucky gals (or other guys lol). They are few and far between.

I would like to add that we're 24, and this is his 2nd wife that has (rightfully) left him. I highly doubt he'll learn a thing or change. I dodged that bullet when I had a crush on him in high school. YIKES.

I am so incredibly thankful for how my parents are. My dad has a physical disability so he didn't work much, stayed at home with me as a kid, took me to all my school functions, sports, activities, etc. He cleaned (without complaint), really got into cooking, and spent so much quality time with me. Very involved. Mind you, he still had his master's and COULD work, but mom's job made more and he wanted more time with me. My mom was the breadwinner and worked a job she loved and still found time f…

No, incels would just make their own private apps and yell about the government censoring them and oppressing their sexual expression and blah blah blah all while condemning men that watch pedophilia and rape (bUt NoT mE I dOnT dO tHaT) Because the actual intent and cause don't matter, their wEiNeRs do.

Sometimes I wonder if I should just explain that it's against the law. Truly just show them the subsections for sexual assault and show that whatever activity we're discussing, is simply against the law. Their minds turn off to "that's rape" because "I'm not a rapist" okay, then let's say for arguments sake you aren't a rapist, but is this "normal" action you're describing illegal? Period? Then how he feels about what "rape" is doesn't matter anymore. It's illegal. Done. Or how in sweden they ma…

I've been seeing my guy for about 7 months now and have seen so many green flags, one of which was when it came to our first time having sex. I am so accustomed to having sex soon and the expectation of it from men. I truly love sex and I express my affection physically BUT, he was the one to ask me if we could wait. I was a little shocked, but immediately impressed. He wanted to make sure we both truly felt comfortable and safe and could express it out of intimacy and not lust. I stayed at his …

I truly don't know where I'd be without him... Probably still letting people just like him walk all over me. Probably silencing my voice and bending myself backwards to keep people like him around. Probably still blind to my own glory and how toxic his breed of "man" is... So I gotta say, I don't know where I'd be had he not shown me everything I never want again. Woke me up. Efffff that.

My favorite part is that you didn't explain it to him or try to teach him or give him a worded lesson. You just said "correct, go fuck yourself". Pretty self explanatory. Loveeee.

I remind them that I act my age, a lot of people my age are just act like idiots so it's not hard to confuse the two. But I am still, in fact, my age. Move along. I would also like to point out that this was the exact excuse the man 30 years older than me gave when he assaulted me. I was just "mature for my age" so it was "fine" and I literally panic every time anyone says this to me. Hate it.

So far, the green to red flag ratio is pretty uneven. This is the only red flag I've seen from him. But I'm definitely paying attention now.

You're totally right. He is lucky. While I've been with more men than he was expecting, all of it led to the woman I am today. And I know myself and what I want/don't want because of it. I walked him back into his lane about it all. I chose to be honest out of respect, but if something like that, which has nothing to do with him, causes him to respect me less, I know where the door is.

I honestly don't remember how it did, but it wasn't in an accusatory way. I think he may have felt self-conscious about the fact that while he's older, I've had more "experience" in that department?

Thanks for your input! I think I'm going to find a way to be honest, and still be supportive. I like the groom just fine, I just hate seeing her tie herself up in all of this over and over again. Before she got married, when I was trying to talk her out of it or delay the only real reason she could come up with for following through is that she had already sent out the invites, and her family would be right. (She's the girl who cried love, kind of) I love the girl, we've been friends for 15 year…

She is well aware of my stance on things, but she's already married, it's already done, and I'll just support my friend, not her decisions. I'll make it a great, honest speech. Thank you!

Update y'all: he tried to ask if he could make the 8+hr trip to come visit me and I said "please don't" and we had a nice discussion after that. I told him he caught me on a weird night and that I have no interest in playing into his fantasies, he can dream of me from afar and that's it. I've decided not to block just because we are still friends and enjoy platonic convo and work in the same field. BUT, if he oversteps the lines I gave him, he gone. Thanks ladies!
