You have to give it time. I have a doctor friend who used the analogy that if you have a severe injury then depending on that severity it will take time to heal. If you just scraped your knee then maybe it take hurt for a couple of hours when you shower versus you get shot well that takes months You got shot and with kids might as well add multiple shots Hang in there, you need to cope with this for your kids so they get the best version of you

Thank you for her detailed reply!! Yes she is working and has turned down jobs where she would make as much but now she is sorta back on track and I suspect in 5 years will more than likely surpass me

Imagine if you are 61 and you feel this way and someone says to you, hey I’ll give you 20 years and you can be 41 but same exact situation except better health You would kill for this Try religion

You are 41, you have youth on your side, just make a list I’m serious try to tackle one every 30 days Could be as simple as going on 1 date go for an ugly girl girl is to go out for coffee

Man people give terrible advice I gusss I’d say try to just ignore it your wife clearly is hurt as I’m sure you are so this is her way to acting out Knowing you are going to divorce I’d. Just ignore her as her opinion shouldn’t not matter to you And I don’t think you are a good person after years of dead bedroom I’d say you showed characters by stopping and ending things

And I wouldn’t tell the son anything if the divorce happens sure But try counseling open up the marriage try separation I mean divorce should be option #7 not first thing you do it’s the last last resort

Wait cheating doesn’t mean the marriage ends I think you have to keep trying People make mistakes an affair isn’t the end of a relationship

Honestly I think with kids there is addded stress but I don’t see that reason to give up, people change but they also change and evolve, you should really stay for the kiddo and actually truly try to love your wife and rekindle that relationship you once had I think was westerner we tend to have this idea that everything has to be roses 24/7 but in reality specially with young kids it takes a toll which is temporary and if you can survive that you may end up with a life partner after all

You have to tell him it’s a mutual decision and completely utterly make this up because he needs his mother as much as he needs his father. If you love him you have to lie to him and tell him that sometimes mommy and daddy want to be friends but they can’t live together and they love you I’m sorry you are going thru this bro
/r/Divorce_Men04/10/24 01:16 AM

Congrats on getting rid of her!! Honestly she sounds like an asshole and completely ungrateful You should fight for alimony hire best lawyer and find someone who actually loves you Congrats on getting rid of hidden devil in your life

I’m sorry for your pain which likely won’t go away anytime soon, however, I do think you should find a lawyer and protect yourself and her if she ever wants to get back together, I would also take his opportunity to meet other people and get out of your confort zone I think sometimes women take us for granted and if you let them you could lose them but she may also realize she is way off and misses you and wants her back! Let’s say she wants you back, you will also never get this opportunity to …

I can send you a private video where you see a daughter who is 3 year olds and misses her dad who committed suicide, it just makes you realize life is too precious to give up There is never a reason. I promise you, you will get over this, may take months or years but you will Think of the people in Gaza or other parts of world which doesn’t mean your suffering isn’t hard on you but context is something You are meant to be with someone else’s trust me you will find her Happy to talk offline bro N…

I didn’t read thru all the comments so other may have addressed it, to me it’s funny you start with sex but drop the bomb shell about kids, I think that should be reason to move on Having a family is great experience so I would go your seperate ways Also you can seperate for a year too see how you feel See other people and just figure out if you want a family But I think you are punting on the inevitable. Which is divorce

I’m sorry you are going thru this and I appreciate the candid and openness with your own struggles; I do think I’ll stay I will just find sex on the side so that’s risky but I think I can do that and stay relatively happy 20 years huh and that’s how bad it is? I almost can’t imagine my wife and I having such disagreements

I just wanna thank you for the long response I really appreciate it! I think part of issue is she and I do get along and we don’t have a horrible marriage, we actually could be best friends like we have fun together but I think the lack of attraction is something I’ve struggling with It’s honestly more an issue of just that lack of attraction or kissing or lack affection

We do have sex and it’s not like I can’t get it up I just meant it’s not great and I have to pretend to be into it etc and in general when I see her I don’t see much attraction

She is anything but she is very attractive but u just don’t feel a thing
/r/Divorce_Men01/08/24 02:02 PM

I totally agree I think my issue is we don’t have those crazy fights or super unhealthy environments

How old were the kids when you separated? See we don’t that issue in that we don’t fight in front of the kids, we just have been had this distance for past 6 months. I just wish I was attractive to her I think I’d put up with the nagging etc if I got turned on when I saw her naked And I spoke to another guy similar age, he said at 4 year old his daughter had nightmares and would blame herself for mommy and daddy not staying together or think it is because mommy was mad so and so time when she di…

You can’t ever be suicidal you should look up accounts on small children who cry for their father and their whole lives are ruined, I don’t care how hard it gets for you you have to take that option out, when your kids see you imagine if something happened and their needed their daddy? Please consider getting help, join a church or mosque or something but you cannot ever leave your kids for good they will ruin their lives and never be happy again

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
