If you go to r/seduction and filter the posts by “Top Posts This Month” then the top two (technically three but ones a repost) are summaries of two of the books. That being said I would strongly recommend actually buying the books. They’re cheap and a simple review or bullet points won’t deliver the message effectively enough.

Models by Mark Manson. - Why? Just read it, trust me. I won’t be the only person to recommend this book here. No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert Glover. - Why? It’ll make you notice many “nice guy” habits and thought processes that you may or may not know you have and how to fix them. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. - Why? It teaches you how to socialise with anyone in any situation well. It highlights core principles that people should (in my opinion) look to integrate int…

What this guy said. I have been on both sides of the fence. This last summer I was at the lowest I've ever been. I lost over a stone in weight, stopped eating and caring about my hygiene. I didn't figure why I felt low but I did. I spoke to those closest to me and vented and eventually got over it. I mentioned (arguably) superficial ways in which a negative mood affected me but it reflected in my body language, my voice and generally how I carried myself. I'm more than a month over whatever got …

I'm replying to this before I reply to your comment back to me yesterday. Firstly, online dating isn't useless. You're right though. For every one even sort-of cute girl, there are numerous guys vying for her attention. It's not easy, take it from me. I'm not a brilliantly looking guy, 7 or 8 on a very good day. On the average day, in an average guy so as you can imagine online dating doesn't work for me much. I've lost my patience with it and deleted the entire app and thrown my phone across my…

Most importantly, be patient. Give yourself a year. Two years. Three years. Four years. This is a marathon and you're only 21. Keep at it and you'll be in a great place when you're out of college and the ability to cold approach skyrockets in value. This is literally the bedrock of my mindset. I'm 21. I'm going to University in September 2018 for four years. When I walk out of Uni I want to be in control of the dating part of my life.

That's a big reason why I'm passionate about having a killer dating life. Only once you experience a lot can you be sure what you truly want. Divorce is something I definitely do not want.

Commenting to follow the post. I've just had an interview with a bar and it went really well. I've been invited back for a couple-of-hours-taster-session next Friday to see how I get on behind the bar.

I'm no expert but I'd say it's a shit test. Besides, who cares if you're nerdy? Personally I wouldn't be confident or comfortable expressing that though what I wear and how I act, even when I was the weird teenage kid (not saying you're weird), even when that's who I was. I'm comfortable having a good body and good dress sense. Point is, if you're comfortable and most confident expressing that side of you then who are any of us, or who is any girl, to tell you that you're a nerd and you're wrong…

Do you never go around your day to day life (including nights out) and see a woman and think to yourself, "Damn. I'd like to get to know her."? If you're mentally in a position where you're curious about whether they'd be a good fit in your life or not, the above question should come naturally. So far as that goes, if you're curious about them no excuse is needed. It's human nature to seek answers for something we don't know about. It's normal, hell, it's probably less natural to not answer your…

Exactly! Honestly, this sub has helped me enormously with inner game. My ship has found its captain, you could say, thanks to this place. Because of this I want to give back in the biggest way I know how, in field reports. I want to, like you, use them as a ways to see where I've come from compared to where I will be. My sort of 'end goal' for playing guitar is to be confident enough to play a set on an open mic night at a bar. Not for the adulation or cheers but because I'll have beaten an anxiety that has probably stolen many opportunities in my life. I'm not socially inept. I can hold a conversation just fine once I get into it but I've always had a vey noticeable, crippling stage fright and performing in front of even 10 people (without any obvious hiccups) would seriously mean the world to me. Not only t…

Disclaimer: I don't want this to come across as discrediting your advice. Despite knowing someone would reply to my question this way and then thinking to myself, 'yeah my hobbies are fine!' They really weren't. I've recently picked up a guitar and started learning Spanish, which are great hobbies but they are not social hobbies - something you're suggesting. I've been heavily considering taking up CrossFit and dropping the traditional gym purely for the social, team-like comradeship found at Cr…

Dude. This isn't a thing you're either born with or not. No baby is born shy and lacking confidence. The way our lives are lead as children directly effects the way we act socially. That means, if you can be conditioned to be shy and a social recluse you can absolutely conditioned the other way; a confident, strong, polarising man. You don't want evidence. You don't need evidence. You're looking for a reason to do fuck all. You knew no one could answer your question the way you wanted and you're…

Very, very good post. This sub sees a lot of the initial steps covered extensively but never goes into the, arguably, more mature side (deep down everybody eventually wants a relationship with someone they truly gel with) of seduction and dating. One question though, you mentioned social proof - as does nearly every post and rightfully so - and how it's important to have it. How does one develop a strong social circle and this social proof? I have a good group of male friends but I want more wom…

To be charismatic: simply be passionate about what it is you talk about. If you are, the tone of your voice will fluctuate appropriately and your body will be more expressive (hand gestures etc). It takes work if, like me you aren't charismatic. It won't come naturally so you'll have to naturally work on a more expressive body. Key here is, if you show you're passionate, then you'll seem interesting (and obviously interested) and that's charisma.

I have no reason to dispute what you've written here other than when you say; be fun or be muscular. I have been both at the same time. I wear clothes that show that I work out and I have a whale of a time on the dance floor. Neither have got me barely anywhere. I get paid no attention at the club, with or without friends. What do?

I see you question a lot of shit on here quite heavily and honestly it bugs me at times but reading this comment from you actually made me think about you in a more positive light. Well, for a start, you'll feel better about yourself - more confident, if you will. That's easily the most important outcome here. Do it because it makes you feel good. When you feel good it's obvious. You'll have higher energy, you'll smile easier, your back will be up straight and chin will be raised. You will hold eye contact easier and your chest will be out. Your posture will improve. That's all internal stuff. It is unlikely that any woman, anywhere, will approach a man - no matter how hot…

I'm around 170lbs at 5'8. Yes I have a little more fat than I'd like but unless I'm bloated, you can't tell I have any fat. Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Yes, but do it for you. I could've stopped at 150, or 160lbs but I kept going because I loved it and wasn't happy where I was. Get to a weight that makes you happy and confident. That's the key here. Confidence is sexier than a 5'8 man weighing 125lbs. Edit: there isn't a specific weight to hit.

Mark Manson's Models. Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People (this is book was originally published before World War Two I think, it certainly wasn't this century. It still stands the test of time). It isn't really a seduction book. It's more of a people book. You'll enjoy it. I learned a lot from it. Robert Glover's No More Mr. Nice Guy. I would say it does, personally. Especially starting out. I'm in a place where I need to learn from everything I do socially. If I'm drunk I can't focus on that shit. Besides you don't want to find that you can't have fun or worse, socialise without alcohol in your system. Edit: once in while, to let loose, is fine of course. I wouldn't use it to get better with game myself though.

Chest out. Back straight, but not uncomfortably. Chin up. Eyes forward. Walk with legs at shoulder width - this will prevent a more feminine hip sway. You should practise doing slightly swaggered shoulders. It doesn't take too long to have come naturally.

No, don't go back. It is unhealthy. Just make sure you don't become cynical towards women. Work on getting a more positive view of women, because they really aren't that bad--coming from a man who got rejected numerous times over the weekend.
/r/seduction29/05/17 03:38 PM
1

Obviously not OP but I did a handful of approaches last night, and I got rejected each time. Flat out rejected. The girls literally turned the other way every time. This isn't just a bad night, it happens every time I go out. Rejection isn't getting easier, it's getting harder. So much harder and now it's having a negative effect on my confidence. I obviously have shakey confidence or it wouldn't be so easily broken but it's hard to be confident went there's nothing to be confident about.

Dude, the woman/women in question are unrealistic in their expectations. She sure lives an attractive lifestyle but her personality is poor. I'm sure there's a guy out there for her but there are many, many guys who do not fit her lifestyle/requirements. No point getting hung up on her or anyone else like that. Her personality stinks. Online dating is not like that on the whole, not in my experience at least. In the same vein that she exists, there are many women who exist that aren't like her -…

I'm 5'8 and started at 140lbs. I'm around 173lbs now and I fill out medium shirts and trousers brilliantly. In my experience it made an enormous difference. Girls never checked me out and whilst I don't get an awful lot of it now (even with a beard and muscle I still look like a 17 year old... I'm 21 btw), I have noticed, especially recently, that I get checked out maybe once or twice a week. Shit feels good man. You may get approached. I... I think you've been friend-zoned, buddy. She lit up because she's getting to she her friend. She genuinely cares for you... but as nothing more than a friend. Female friends are great to have. They'll be honest about style, looks and it gives you an insight to how they tick. Just remain friends if you can. Truthfully? In my opinion, yes. You're too skinny. So bulk up. Why? Not because you aren't attractive enough. I say you should do it because if you were confident about the way you look then you wouldn't ask the question. I think the fact you felt the need to ask the question was an answer in of itself. Get to a weight that makes you feel comfortable and confident. You may find you got 158lbs and you look good and feel great but you enjoy bodybuilding. Just keep going until you're happy!

Thank you for going into some more detail. Maybe this is a pessimistic view, or I've been very unfortunate in my experiences, but I get the feeling looks get your foot in the door and, like I said, it's just unfortunate or immaturity (superficiality) playing a factor (remember, I'm 21) but, again in my experience, women don't take a second look if you aren't a model. I'm not ugly but I'm not George Clooney. I have an average face with an above average body and have a good style with nice fitting…

I have to say, I agree with everything you wrote in the post, and in this comment. I am in my early 20s (21) and it's ever so hard to see past the fact that looks do matter. Fair enough for not letting it get the better of you. I know it's not easy to deal with at times. Hit the gym. Get interested in things and find a passion. Pursue it. All of this'll build confidence. Keep going out and putting yourself in situations where you can get better with girls. Keep failing, keep learning. It's easy for me to say, trust me I know, but it's what anyone else would tell you. And so far as I know, IBS won't go away. You'll just learn to handle it better.

I can't help you all the way because you have similar problems to me regarding women (I've read too much and my brain is swarming with too much information about all of this. So much so, I can't make sense of it whatsoever). What I can help with is working out. I have two close friends with IBS. Your first picture should be you and only you. A picture of your face. It should go maybe no further than your waist. Make sure it's the higher quality you can get hold of. I've heard affirmations. I've also heard about how they are no good if they aren't true and how merely repeating a bunch of words to yourself can't possibly make it true. You are what you believe yourself to be, I get that, but if you have nothing to base your words on, aren't you going to continually lie to yourself?
/r/seduction12/05/17 11:52 PM

That's an interesting way to look at it I guess. I'm in the process of building a life that offers more value so I could go with that.

How do you get over these self-limiting beliefs? How do you learn to accept them? When I look inward at myself and try and find what really is a problem, or what is stopping me getting where I want, I struggle finding something that's genuinely stopping me other than a fear of rejection. I'm aware I have flaws, and honestly there's very little I can do about them... As I wrote that out I realised my problem isn't self-limiting beliefs as much as it is anxiety...

But OP is noting that Manson used nerves as the reason and is talking about how he doesn't see claiming downstairs disfunction as a nerves problem will get them laid in the the future, and that in actual fact it'll turn women off. I see what you're saying but with alcohol and drugs it's understandable and far more forgivable than putting limp dick down to nerves.

Is the way to develop this awareness simply becoming more aware? Silly sounding question, I know... like do you just actively look around, try and make eye contact with women you're attracted to?

Better? Really depends on how things are going in the conversation. Both are just fine. As for preference, I'd rather simply ask to take her out. Direct and to the point.

Honestly, you can't. It's something you can only hold yourself responsible for, no one else can. The key is to forgive yourself if you can't bring yourself to do it. If you beat yourself up you'll end up mentally worse off than before and at the end of the day seduction, and this whole sub, is about self-improvement and having a healthy and confident mindset. Forgiving yourself is key to any time you fail; understand you're human with faults and you'll fail. Just go again next time the opportuni…

I've had good success with the 3-second rule. You see a girl you like. You have three seconds to go say hi. The point of this is to not give your brain time to talk you out of it or begin overthinking the situation.

A couple of my friends were talking about this the other night. Friend A didn't know what to do to get things going on the dance floor and Friend B simply said, "Dance and have fun but notice the people, especially the girls, around you. If you catch their glance, smile and dance over. If she's wants your attention she'll smile and open herself to your dancing." One of the girls nearby heard him say this and agreed to the instructions he gave. More detail on how to escalate in a club, read the t…

Absolutely. I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to this stuff but that just means this is common sense. Do something, go bowling or play crazy golf. Get a coffee and go for a walk in a park, something. Those are some ideas. Hit her up with a thought out time and place. Meet up and go from there.

Read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, it'll help with shit like this. But to answer your question directly, no. In any conversation, the other person should be doing the talking. If you're handling a conversation (and people) correctly, then the conversation will naturally be spewing out of their mouth. People love to talk about themselves so learn to talk about other people and be comfortable enough with yourself to not talk about yourself first.

Lifting makes one more attractive, period. Higher levels of attractiveness means women will be more receptive to you. Do be aware, however, that lifting is just one part of the puzzle; there's so much more to learn and that's what this sub is all about.

Honestly, I went in expecting some useless bullshit and until the banana walked through the door I stuck by my initial presumption. It was however, by the end, a fantastic way to look at confidence; look not at what we aren't and how that should negatively affect us but understand and accept that we aren't perfect and roll with the punches. Laugh it off because ultimately you're the only one that cares. PS - That was literally the most British video I may have ever watched. The passive-aggressiv…

You shouldn't give a fuck about what people think. You're a virgin. It'll be awkward. It'll probably suck. You'll probably suck. No one has had a great first time, and expecting so is being silly. It's supposed to be fun. And to tackle the problem of not getting it up, just go down on her. You'll get turned on past the point of being nervous and she'll probably forget that you were struggling to begin with. It should be said that, and it's a piece of advice I don't see enough, people trying to overcome approach anxiety should aim to speak to everyone. Whether you're in line at the store, talking to a cashier or walking down the street (a simple "hi" is enough in this circumstance).

My, 'not-so-alone' time, hobbies include working out (and finding better ways to achieve my goals in this area), actually wrestling, playing tennis non-competitively (something I did years ago, but stopped and am now looking to pick back up) and when I get the chance, I like to drive to a new place …

I will say, though, that maybe you should expand your horizons with regular visits to the gym, voluntary work or anything else that'll help you find common ground with others. It's human nature to be curious about things we're unsure about. As someone who has both read Models and still struggles to approach women, re-reading this page, thanks to you OP, has made me think completely differently. The thing to take away from what OP has posted, and the way I've interpreted it, is that it's in our nature to want answers to things we don't know about. So walk just like Vince McMahon?! Well, to be fair, he looks like he gave the women the fucking of her life. But on a serious note, you have a pretty good idea with the brushing of the arms. I'll also study Vince's walk some more because if master that, they got NO CHANCE IN HELL. It doesn't seem like I'm taking it seriously but I am, I just get giddy when WWE is referenced.

Oh my... the WWE reference. That's my jam. If I walked like Vinnie Mac, I'd get looks, albeit ones of pity and disgust.

Firstly, tell yourself you don't HAVE to. You CHOOSE to. Every time you get the urge, you need to tell yourself this. Secondly, I'm busy so that helps a lot. I work five nights a week. Go to the gym in evening and barely get time to myself. When I do it its in the morning when I'm sitting on the toilet, half asleep. Guilt is a big player. /r/seduction15/07/16 03:27 PM

Pretty much a game changer for me. Whilst I gave in, not so long ago, the feeling of not doing it for even a week is incredible. You feel motivated, if you work out you feel stronger, 'no or 'I can't' becomes so much less of a feasible answer. Trust me you'll feel better for it. If you can't go cold turkey, reduce to once every three days, and after that go to a week and then challenge yourself to go for as long as you can. Then, feel fucking fantastic.

I don't even live in a city. That place with 50-60k people is classified as a city... regardless I have no idea how to gage that. EDIT: The 'value' of people is admittedly rather low.

I live in England and literally, the town closest to me, besides my own, has 50,000 people in, maybe 60,000. You can't change your facial features so learn to complement them. Can't grow a good looking beard? Stay clean-shaven. I see what you're saying with the gym analogy and it makes sense. Talking to women is like a muscle, it needs to be worked consistently, no matter my state of mind, to see results.
