Why did this bring tears to my eyes omg Just knowing how cruel men's families can be to daughter-in-laws and how unfair the circumstances truly are for women, it's so easy to see this going a completely different way. Like it's almost unbelievable that a woman would be shown this much grace and kindness. Why is it so rare for women and their babies to be treated with respect and dignity in a situation like this? my lvm father hammered it into my head that being a single mom and your husband leav…

my great-grandmother had 4 kids starting from age 13-17 (including a pair of TWINS) and then her husband died when she was 17. This was really common in the small villages of the middle east. She never married again in her whole life. She dedicated her entire life to her family and raising her kids and grandkids. I was so blessed to have her in my life up until I was 17. I just was talking to my grandmother (her daughter) today and she was saying how she couldn't believe she was my younger broth…

I feel so bad for her. Especially since those predators were WAITING for her to turn 18 so they could publicly make sexual comments about her. And the way she used to wear baggy clothing on purpose because she knew if she even outlined her body she would be sexualized. She made that choice as a 15/16 year old. Incredibly difficult to know the scope of just how much you could potentially be sexualized/harassed by men especially when you're that young and for her to get ahead of that I think was r…

Is this a first date? Or a boyfriend? I would not be going to his house if you two are just casually dating at this point

I love her casually giving her number to the taller more handsome guy right in front of him 😂😂😂 And a doctorate in chemistry? Girl. She is doing charity work just standing for that “interview”

Right now I don't live with my boyfriend and have made it clear I wont until we are engaged. Tuesday nights are just for us, every Tuesday. It just so happens to be the night we are both off work and also don't have to physically go in to work the next day so we have dinner, spend the night, and make breakfast. Then we have a date switch off type thing where we each get to do one activity or go to one restaurant we want to go with the other and we alternate weeks on who gets to pick. This will u…

That is very true. I meant smart in the way that it is a sneaky and usually successful tactic. But I agree, a lot of it is just misogyny and their own entitlement. No "skill" or "thought" behind it at all.

This makes me want to vomit. But at the same time it’s hilarious that men think they have this power over women. They specifically target abused or self conscious pick me’s to validate their “accomplishments.” Let a grown woman with FDS principles cut this man off at the first attempt at a neg, you know he’ll be crying, shaking, throwing up at the fact that she won’t let him disrespect her. I hope women catch on to this behavior early and it never works for them ever again.

Glad FDS is back! So happy!! <3 So, just to confirm the only way to be an approved user is to just keep commenting/posting as normal?

Ugh this literally could be about my relationship now. The marriage and kids thing is what’s making it so hard for me to leave. He definitely wants it and so do I but he’s just not affectionate in the way I need.

Thank you that means a lot it’s really nice to hear. I actually don’t live with him. We both live at home still and we met on OLD so we have no mutual friends or anything. If I break up with him I have no real contact with him anymore but honestly that’s what kind of scares me. I’m just scared of being alone more than anything. But I will try to find the strength to end things with him.

Do I just tell him I need a break straight up? How would I go about bringing that up?

Thank you. I really do not feel strong at all. I feel like I truly won’t be able to do it. But hopefully with therapy I’ll eventually get there. I feel like my first step was admitting I don’t want to be with him but I have several steps I need to build up the courage to take next.

This literally happened to me. I was with my LVM ex though and tbh he wasn't really an ex we were just in a situationship having sex (this is before I discovered FDS). I got pregnant unexpectedly and even though I want kids more than anything I knew it would be a bad idea to have them with someone who wasnt even comitted to me (at this point we had been "dating" for 3 months, no label). He tried to convice me so hard to get one without explicity saying I should get one. "think about our future, …

I finally broke off my situationship. Obviously when I tried to leave him for not showing me committment he immediately offers it to me. He said all these amazing things about me and about how much he cared about me and all I had to say was "You should have shown me" I feel like I'm struggling becuase he basically validated everything I wanted out of him as I was telling him I didn't want to be with him anymore. Why now? He says it's because he's dumb and made a mistake that he really doesn't wa…

I honeslty still use OLD with heavy vetting of the guys. You can filter by religion preferences on Hinge and Match I believe. The guys on all apps are mostly trash though so thats why I say some heavy vetting is needed.

As a Muslim this post is really nice to see. A lot of our men can be more misogynistic than most and use Islam as a justification for these "rules" I'm glad you got out of that situation and I hope you know there's plenty of good Muslim men out there that aren't misogynistic assholes like that one, you just have to be good at vetting!!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
