Maybe it’s just me but I think that certain complaints, spec. about appearance or sex, always do more harm than good. I would rather just focus on myself and let them figure it out on their own, I feel like most men do end up doing that anyways? Does it even feel good to be like “honey, please lose weight”? Idk, that just sounds like an L for everyone involved. But I haven’t experienced this problem personally so I can def accept that I might be wrong and that communication about things like thi…

Also, if he has ever worked out in the past, you could ask him if he could help you work on form or figure out how to use machines? I wouldn’t press this, just ask once, bc he may not be confident enough to yet. Still, it will mean a lot that you asked and I can almost guarantee that he will remember that and follow through eventually.

I’m not saying don’t talk about it but tbh… men’s egos are so fragile about sex. Having it presented to them as an expectation to be met or an area where they are falling short is generally really uninspiring, not-sexy, and backfires. I recommend leaning back a bit, focusing on yourself a little more… ask yourself if you are losing yourself in the relationship, seeing yourself as a unit rather than an individual. This happened to me previously in a healthy relationship, so it’s not like a bad th…

You already know this, but 100000% don’t say one word about it. It will hurt his sense of masculinity deeply, in a way that can’t be taken back, and will overall negatively impact your relationship. The only thing you can do, imo, is to start going to the gym yourself, express that you enjoy it, and leave it at that. You will probably become happier and less bothered about his shortcomings from just doing that alone, even if he doesn’t immediately follow suit. Even if you already look good and d…

Realize that what you see and are attracted to in them, what you want them to give you, is your soul/heart telling you what you need to develop in yourself to reach wholeness. Realize that the goal of working towards wholeness (value is in the journey, not a destination, it’s lifelong) is the best way to attract the right person and the only way to have fulfilling, sustainable relationships (romantic and otherwise). You got this<3

I think it’s hard because it sometimes seems like we only have two choices 1. go all in to meeting societies standards of beauty, or 2. to let go completely and pay no attention to your appearance. I think that feeling beautiful and attractive can be a wholesome source of joy, it is very natural for women, it isn’t inherently bad. But, sometimes we believe that our appearance is our only value, or our only way to be good enough, our only way to get approval and love, and that mentality makes it …

There is def value in the informative posts that the wonderful women on this forum have created to help you calibrate the kind of guy you can actually pull, but I think that intellectualizing the process can only take you so far. That type of thinking has its place and is important to be aware of, it is helpful in preparation stages, but it’s def a masculine framework, and I think that the best way to actually meet/attract/be attracted to and form a beautiful relationship with the right man is t…

Lol one more thing. The Jungian concept of animus/anima (or a woman’s internal “man”, man’s internal “woman”) and what we are attracted to has helped me a lot to understand patterns I have in attraction. I might be butchering it, but the way I see it is that we are drawn to partners who possess what we lack. That isn’t bad, bc it is why romantic relationships can be so magical/like 2 puzzle pieces/ plus we can learn from each other, but being totally unaware that that’s what’s happening can be d…

Also, when you focus on really getting comfortable in your feminine (often receptive) energy, you will be much better at seeing these things and instantly knowing who is for you and who isn’t. To me, it feels like a magnet. Like, if a guy isn’t really in his healthy masculine internally, even if he is externally, there is literally no attraction on my end, it feels like a dead circuit and I have no desire to connect. For me, this is pretty much instant upon meeting someone, I just “know”, so I d…

Idk if this will help, because it wasn’t something I had to change, just how I’ve always been… people have def said “be attracted to how someone treats you” which I totally agree w/, but, I think, to take it even deeper, and outside of just you (esp. if you have low self-esteem and don’t necessarily think you deserve to be treated well, which I think is usually part of attraction to people who don’t treat you well) being either turned on or off by someone’s character (which is evident in/determi…

This means a lot to hear😌 & such wonderful suggestions… I have been feeling like I have to “do” active things, but learning about things that interest me outside of school is a great way to enrich myself during this time. Thank you❤️

Thank you for sharing this, it’s so important to remember that jokes/sarcasm can be insidiously destructive to trust. I think it’s a common way of expressing resentment/desire to bring someone down, but in a format that provides less opportunity for an actual discussion bc it’s “just a joke”. The fact that you quickly addressed it and she stopped the behavior is wonderful to hear:)

I appreciate your insights!:) I really loved that question as a way to explore where we are now and to potentially help us work on ourselves. It seems like cultivating a sense of inner stability/equanimity/positivity regardless of circumstance (not that that’s easy lol) may be the greatest predictor of being able to consistently present as our best selves (idk if that’s the right word but not be hurtful/miserable lol) in the face of stress over the course of our relationships. Thank you❤️
