That's why I said I'm in favour if it's applied both ways. Currently it isn't being applied both ways. That's discrimination in itself and an issue that needs to be addressed. The business can target a certain demographic with the product it sells or the way it advertises that product, but to decide that a certain category of people aren't allowed to purchase the product isn't an attitude that belongs in a modern democracy. What does she have to gain? It is ridiculous. My god, her poor husband. She has no logical, bonafied point to her little tantrum there. She was discriminated against because of her gender. Whether the victim is a man or a woman, discrimination is wrong. Her point was to point that out. To show that discrimination in all forms is wrong and unacceptable. | 0 | Is Jessica Valenti finally just losing the plot? The staff at the Guardian seem to think so.I reckon the fourth wave of feminism will soon be upon us, except we won't be calling it that. Resolving differences for the good of everyone, not just women, will be the key feature. How is this fourth wave different from the existing men's rights movement? It's different because existing feminists and mra's will embrace it together, and classical feminism will begin to die. | 1 | "Men still represent four out of five suicides, but this is a major increase in women taking their own lives that needs urgent attention"Thanks a lot for your comment. I guess the difference is this one sentence here: It is blatantly asking the readers to dismiss the obvious larger numbers of male suicides in favor of doing something about the "now increased" number of female suicides. I don't see it like that. I don't think anything has to be dismissed when we look into the increase in female suicides. | /r/MensRights | 31/05/15 09:58 PM |

Nobody is saying that other suicide rates are not an issue, they're just saying that this is an issue that ought to get some attention, and it is. Lets take an analogy. I think a lot of these zero-tolerance rules at schools are designed to shame and weaken boys. They should drag all the teachers in the country in and make 'em watch Full Metal Jacket. I don't really get this. Am I missing something? EDIT: Is it because of that guy who was basically nonviolent at the beginning and ended up shooting his commander because of unreasonable punishment? Did I get it? | /r/MensRights | 17/06/14 11:09 PM |

I think a lot of these zero-tolerance rules at schools are designed to shame and weaken boys.If anything it's going to help create mentally ill teenagers. Seriously punishing children for something they don't understand fucks them up. | /r/MensRights | 17/06/14 11:07 PM |

Ok, yeah I'm thinking about it and you're right. I still don't think that the law was specifically "designed to shame and weaken boys," but I can see how the overlooking of this serious side effect is a MR issue. | /r/MensRights | 17/06/14 10:58 PM |

Looked it up and it turned out it was a boy. I still don't think the rule is designed to target boys though. Boys play with guns and girls play with dolls, usually. Guns are designed to kill, and dolls are designed to have pretty hair and clothes. This whole thing is ridiculous, but if anyone's going to be suspended over violence at playtime, it'll be the children who are interested in violence, and those children are almost always boys. By violence I d… | /r/MensRights | 17/06/14 10:49 PM |

I think a lot of these zero-tolerance rules at schools are designed to shame and weaken boys.We don't have this in the UK, so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but is this really a men's rights issue? It seems more like a parents demanding illogical levels of safety problem. Boys tend to play with pretend guns more than girls, but that doesn't mean that the policy was designed to target them. Most thefts are committed by men, but that doesn't mean anti-theft laws are designed to catch men. I'm open to a discussion. I certainly haven't made my mind up yet. | /r/MensRights | 17/06/14 10:26 PM |
