Pay is not the end all and be all of everything. For that short period of time, they may have made more, but what does that have to do with lynchings and the institutional racism of the south after the (very brief) Reconstruction? When it comes to identity politics, the Irish people have been treated much more kindly throughout modern (lets say, 1700's onward) history than the blacks.

I'm not sure about this. Gender is really fluid. Take a look at The Genderbread Person. It's a sliding scale, with varying levels of 'masculinity' and 'femininity'. If I'm a transexual person, making my transition from male to female, I may have breasts and testes. Where would this person fall? Because your definition makes it confusing. I disagree. The term racism, while dictionarily defined as discrimination based on race, is better understood as the power structures that be - inhabited by one race - creating oppression for a minority (or, in the case of apartheid, the majority). That's the definition almost everyone uses. So, in a system in which blacks are the oppressed, it is impossible for them to be 'racist'. They can be dickwas, bigots, assholes, and generally awful people, but not racists.

I think there's a difference between classical liberal equality and feminist equality. Classical liberal equality states that everyone gets four apples, make of it what you will. There are twpo types of feminism: Gender and equity. Gender feminism is equivalent to cheauvanism; men are lesser to feminism. Equity feminism is concerned with female opression. The latter are the ones that are (knowlingly or unknowingly by the indiviual feminst) the majority. They are also the ones MRA's are opposed to. Many MRAs - myself included - are also against the second kind, arguing that if one is truly for equality they would abandon the term feminsm.

The school I attnended was a private Jesuit school, so it may be different. We didnt have shop or any of those manly activities, though we did have sports - primarily parent funded, though. We didnt have femanine either. What we did have was excellent academics which put me miles beyond the Detroit public school kids and extra curriculars bent on stimulation and ideas- such as Peace Forum, Model UN, and Diversity Union. Every school is different though.
