Pre FDS when I was 19 I dated a 32 year old (I know😭)who made six figures while I worked as a checkout chick part time while studying. We sat down at a bar and he immediately said “You’re paying for everything tonight”. I was shocked, I had paid for drinks in the past but the blatant disrespect when he earns more money in a week I earned in a year. Ofc that night I paid because I didn’t want to be rude (ughhh). Ghosted him after that, didn’t need FDS to realise this behaviour is awful.

Liberal feminism is a lot easier to swallow. When I was educated in more radical theory and quickly learnt just how prevalent violence, hatred and discrimination against women is it was extremely depressing. I was miserable for months, suddenly seeing it everywhere. I understand why so many libfems refuse to actually deconstruct the patriarchy because it turns your world upside down.

He wouldn’t do it back. Remember that study that found men are 7x more likely to leave their partner with brain cancer?

“She breezed her way into school” “Her business is going well despite her having no clue what’s she’s doing” Like really? He cannot accept that she’s brilliant and better than him, in his mind it must be luck and it’s not fair!

It’s because they don’t think it’s in a woman’s nature, they think it’s so much more cold blooded. They punish so severely because they know that if women regularly responded to extreme abuse with murder then millions of men would be killed. It’s not justice it’s a deterrent.

I’m assuming he’s relying on women’s societal training to be polite to men no matter what. And if they say anything he’ll call them shallow bitches.

I still remember the day I read this and my heart broke and I cried thinking about all those young women who had hopes and dreams of being doctors, studied so hard, and got cheated but thought THEY weren’t good enough!! And the men were allowed to go on thinking they were smarter and superior students! This story genuinely radicalised me.

Seinfeld is one of my favourite shows. How George pulls so many attractive women irritates me. Short, bald, fat, unemployed, lives with his parents. And yet he bagged a supermodel every episode, only to treat them terribly.

If he calls you a “dirty little slut” or “whore”, spanks you during sex. I understand some women are into this but if a man does it to you unprompted he likely watches a lot of porn.

Alpha male wanting a submissive woman AKA he will expect sex whenever he wants and does not have to care about her pleasure.

Reddit’s solution would be to communicate and ask your wife to hire a sex worker. Poor woman.

Oh my god? The study that said 1/6 women were sexually assaulted (half of these were rapes) using online dating? That’s actually insane, how have I never heard that?

How do you vet porn use early on? It feels impossible to find any guy that doesn’t watch it. Is there any point?

Didn’t Emma Watson have a national countdown to her 18th birthday? And at her party paparazzi were lying on the sidewalk trying to get upskirt photos of her. This isn’t a few scary men it’s all of them collectively shaping society to sexualise teenage girls.

Women who face the worst rejections by men can’t tell their story because they’re dead.

They love “don’t drop the soap” dark humour about prison rape until suddenly it’s convenient for them in an argument. They don’t actually care about those victims.

Do you have any more advice from de-internalising the male gaze? I thought it was impossible but I am desperate to escape it, even when I’m alone in my bedroom. That Margaret Atwood quote about male fantasies has haunted me since I read it when I was 16.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me, it means so much, I really appreciate it x I love these!! Humiliating him back, that is genius. I’m definitely using these, it’s an awesome way to get power back and get them the hell away from me. It’s going to take some practise in the mirror but I’m totally doing this next time!

Yes I have very large breasts they are very noticeable. An example is one time I was leaning down to pick up a box and saw a man blatantly stop what he was doing to stare. I caught him and glared at him, so he said “Why are you giving me that look? What’s wrong?” So I got nervous and backtracked because he pretended he never did it. So yes a script would be nice for these moments! A scarf is a good idea but it’s very warm in my country. I do wear nice earrings and I do think they help a bit!

Unfortunately I’m often the most senior on shift. When I notice this happening to other (often underage) girls i work with I immediately step in. But then I usually just fall back on politeness until they leave.

Remember when that man “kept score” if his wife would have sex with him after he asked. He made a whole ass excel spreadsheet. But don’t keep score right?

Also obviously women are visual. Even more so. Men can’t even dress themselves.

Also dogs vs cats is often framed in a masculine vs feminine lense. Cats are portrayed in a feminine: aloof, graceful, catty, etc. I genuinely disliked cats until I realised it was internalised misogyny. Like, for real. So I agree I think men’s opinions of cats are very important.

Poor woman, he’s clearly dragging his feet through their whole relationship. They’ve been together since 21/22 and only married for 3 years? She’s reading birthing books and taking classes and he doesn’t want to hear about it or be involved at all? Does he even want this kid? I feel so bad for her, she may as well be a single mum.

Try rescheduling and see if he really pushes to keep the day, which would indicate somethings up.

The problem is my family doesn’t know. He’s been my brother’s best friend since we were six. He wanted to keep it from my brother and my parents because they wouldn’t have approved. I don’t know if I could tell them. I agree, you’re right I’m going to look for a new job in my chosen career that I’m studying for. It’s about time anyway and that will give me space. Thanks for replying x

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
