Stories of Ex’s Blowing Windfalls Post DivorceMine should be getting 750k if marital assets are split equally. She wants full spousal support on top of that in Texas. I’m curious if anyone has an example of a fully capable ex 54years old getting spousal support on top of 750k. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/26 04:52 PM
Grace?I’m certain she wasn’t happy with a lot of things, me included. So yes it was my fault that she used and I’m the bad guy for not working on my marriage… we went to 11 marital counseling sessions and each one further verified that I needed to file for divorce. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/26 03:53 AM
Grace? She’s gone back and forth telling me she’s quitting in her own terms and doing it for herself, not anyone else. Then she tells me she’s quitting because I wanted her to. Initially she told me (again) that she was going to get her prescription card which is bullshit that I already called out since she doesn’t have one of the terminal illnesses you have to have in Texas to get a card. So is she quitting because I wanted her to? Is she quitting because she wants to? Or was she still just going to t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/26 03:51 AM
Grace? So now I’m debating how the rest of this should play out. I kind of want to just get the case in front of a judge and ask him to decide our fate. She’s going to get about $750k in value from the marital estate. We’ve agreed to 50/50 custody, week on,week off. She works at a school and is severely underemployed making about $1800/mo. Take home pay. I think she never got a real job using her background career of auto finance because the bank rep jobs probably require a drug test. For anyone readin… | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/08/26 03:43 AM
Grace? It looks like she’s gotten serious about getting sober now and she seems to be doing better. I’m truly elated, for her, for our kids, for her kids, everyone. The resentment I have for all the shit over the last few years is too much. This ship has sailed. I’ll give grace and support, but this marriage is done. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/07/26 12:34 PM
Grace?I really don’t mind if on a Friday night she wants to take a toke after the kids are in bed. She started making oil and taking it all day, every day. Then told me she would never stop and tried to turn it into a control thing, as though it was just me trying to control her. My nine year old didn’t make it to a follow up dentist appointment where he could have had a cavity filled and instead 11 months after it was put on watch, we weee having teeth pulled. I shouldn’t have to second guess whether… | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/07/26 12:28 PM
My son said his Mom said this the other day…and it bothers me but really shouldn’t by nowI was thinking you sound like you’re almost there but the whole uncle Paul thing was just a little too much…. My dad tells me that one day he was driving down the road when the realization hit him that he didn’t give a shit anymore. One day we will all get there. It’s glorious when it sets in. You’ll get there. Focus on you, your kids, focus on what you can control. It was a low blow but one day you will realize you don’t give a shit. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/07/26 05:22 AM

Strategy regretI have the same problem and I’m not sure what to do about it either. There’s a decent chance that the surprise may piss her off and set the time for a nasty fight. But.., is it really a surprise? You said she knows it’s coming, as does mine. What are your other options? Trying to talk to her about your strategy? That won’t work either.. I’d say to give her more time to prepare a response. I can’t help but wonder how much the attorneys prefer to strike hard to stir up an expensive fight? | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/12/25 04:38 AM
Hit the limit, now whatIn Texas. Counseling opened my eyes more and led me further down the path to separate. Counseling was my idea but I let her choose the counselor this time. I still see the first therapist that she quit seeing. Married 13 yrs. Serious issues started several years ago. Stopped counseling when my mother passed in May as I couldn’t handle that many irons in the fire. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/25 01:20 PM
Divorce over dishesBlame the dishes? It ain’t the dishes, this is straight up much deeper than dishes. She has insecurities because she knows you carry the load and she’s susceptible. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/11/25 04:12 AM

I need a pick me up, menDoes he have an Xbox at her house? Even if he did actually tell her that, who knows what his reason could be. Maybe a new girl moved in next door at mom’s house.. could be a new chapter of Fortnite being released. Whatever you do, don’t read into the possibility that he may feel like being at the other house because he loves you less. Use that as an excuse to find something that much more exhilarating to do with you that he could never do with mom… | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/01/25 02:38 AM
