Loneliness is often studied as a feeling. It doesn't matter if men have less relationship than women. If women and men report the same feeling of loneliness then it's assumed the situation is the same. Men are used to not complain when they suffer.

I agree with most of your points. But I don't think men turn to right. Rather they become apolitical. Neither the left nor the right wants the best for them. That said, it's still dangerous. Abstention from men of the left side could be enough to give victory to the right.

Honestly, I don't understand the authors methodology. There is a problem with men mental health? Well, let's interview the women, they must be the one who suffer from it and must have the best answers. Serioulsy, why didn't they ask MEN about men mental health problems? And why nobody wants to talk about the men who feel that they are not listened? There is always an injunction for men to talk but never an injunction for society to LISTEN them. What about mental load when they have to deal with …

"Men are useless" "Men are trash" "Male tears" "Fragile masculinity" 'Small dick energy" "Toxic masculinity" "Patriarchy is the root of all the problem" And they still wonder why boys are not interested in liberal ideas. Moreover, the plot shows that 66% of boys are neither conservative, neither liberal. They don't become conservative, they just don't feel that they belong anywhere.

I read regularly threads from aitah. I agree that women get better treatment than men but it's not that caricatural.

The problem isn't they don't agree with me as an individual. I wonder about the movement. Feminism is powerful because women stand together. Advocacy for men won't progress if men stay divided.

Same way we "deal with" the women, no? The problem seems different. I can understand why women don't know about men issues. But when men dismiss men problems I don't know if they really don't deal with these problems or if they want to belittle other men to feel superior.

English grammar is problematic for correctly expressing the idea. If I had to formulate in french I'd say "Le monde est dominé par des hommes" which would be different than "Le monde est dominé par les hommes". The first sentence means that only a handful of men dominates while the second one means that the whole gender dominates. The first sentence better expresses this situation where a handful of powerful people crush the others, and their gender is a secondary issue.

The way democrats will deal with men issues might have a significant influence on the next elections. I don't think the lack of interest for men issue could push them to vote for the republican candidate but many could decide to abstain. This could be enough to tip the balance and make the left lose. It really is a critical question.

Persistent stereotypes This role distribution means certain stereotypes are replicated at the hearings. The issue of raising children comes into play much more often for women than it does for men, when it comes to identifying offense. There is "a moral questioning around the figure of the 'bad mother,'" said Mégie. Sentenced to 10 years in prison on March 3, one of the charges against one female jihadist, Amandine Le Coz, was having "exposed her son to abuse and to the IS radical ideology" – a …

How should female jihadists returning from the ranks of the Islamic State organization (IS) in the Iraqi-Syrian region be judged? For a long time, the question did not arise, because they were not judged. Over the years, the perception of their time in the self-proclaimed "caliphate" has changed. Since 2016, in France, female returnees have been systematically indicted to be judged on an equal footing with men. This change in penal policy questions the long-downplayed role that society has attri…

Violence against men by women is trivialized. Examples in Harry Potter books and movies: In the 6th book, Ron flirts with a girl. Hermione, who is jealous, summons many birds who attack Ron. This behavior is never denounced as problematic. Ron is only described as a jerk. In the 7th book (and movie), Ron leaves Hermione and Harry after an argument. Hermione is very depressed after he leaves. He comes back several month later and Hermione attacks him physically and wants to use a spell against hi…

I watched Avatar 2 and something bugged me (warning: spoilers) The main theme in the movie is family. The main character's motto is that a father has to protect his children. At some point there is a tragic event. The mother breaks down and the father has to contain his emotions and calms the mother. If he didn't do that, things would happen. I think it's a typical exemple of gender roles imposed on men. I don't protest against it because it was a necessity. But this fact doesn't have the recogn…

"Women and children first" implies women are helpless and men are disposable. I disagree. Suppose a boat sinks and there isn't enought lifeboats. People unable to have a lifeboat will die, regardless them being strong or weak. "Women and children first" just means that women and children are more precious that adult men.

I'm thinking of having them to give me consent via recording. Like imagine the awkwardness of asking a girl if she wants to have sex and record it on my phone. Not only awkward, it would also be creepy. If I was a woman and a man asked me a recorded consent, I'd wonder if he intends to assault me after.

I don't how the right man would look like we know what he does not look like: - He never cheated his previous partners. I'm always astonished when women know that a man cheated in the past but are still attracted to me. - He is in a relationship. That does not make any sense. Either he won't cheat his actual partner, so trying to seduce him is useless. Either he will cheat her. So it's a big red flag. - He bullies other people. Also a red flag. - He's very good at lying and manipulating. If he's…

Are we talking about the tables 3.1 et 3.5? 1 473 000 women reported rape on a 12 month period versus 219 000 men. You can divide both by 3 but I don't understand where the "men make up 57% of victims of rape" comes from. I think you confuse being nice and pretending to be nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/22 10:23 PM

Nasty women may stab in the back because they avoid overt agression but it's only a part of the explanation. Faking kindness with men is very useful. There are a lot of testimonies of women puzzled by men who confuse kindness with flirting. Men enjoy kindness because they aren't used with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/22 10:22 PM

Men value niceness. That's why nasty women are so good at hiding their nature. Men who are douchebag hide it less because it's not really a disavantage for them.

I feel like many women have difficulties with handling responsibilities and taking risks. When I see arguments involving men and women, men are more prone to admit when they're wrong or when they make mistakes. I think that's also the problem with the so-called "patriarchy": blaming men for every problem in the world. When women did something wrong it's implied they were conditionned to behave like that so they're not at fault. I think that's the reason why there are less women in high-level pos…

Women are attracted by men who are already in relationships. Saying "All good men are already taken" is absurd because men quality is defined by his relationship statut. Of course good men are already because that's how they define good men.

It's kinda relieving. No more lies or deception. The mask has been removed. Feminism does not aim for equality. It only defends the interest of women. I hope people will awake, give up a movement whose objective isn't the defense of egality and rights. Il the near future things will be different. The only thing that will matter is equality, not the gender.

I understand your despair, according you've been through. But things improve gradually. There are women on this sub and on other subs who realized the "men bad/women good" is a deception. More and more women who have sons, brothers, nephews, male friends, and care about them will want them to be protected. It is logical. And it has been studied: https://www.prima.co.uk/diet-and-health/sex-relationships/a37205/previous-sexual-partners-link-to-divorce-risk/ A red flag is a red flag. I won't ignore it. I think there is a biological explanation. If, in a tribe, 80% of the men died, the tribe would be able to reconstitute. It would not be the case if 80% of women died. I think it is the source of the "woman are precious" reasoning.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates20/04/22 07:23 AM

Lying and abuse are prevalent. Not everybody's does it of course, but it is still prevalent. Moreover, it's easier for liers and abusers to get a second chance nowadays. If nobody trusts them anymore, they can just move elsewhere and meet new people to manipulate and abuse. If you live with the same people for your whole life then this kind of behavior is more complicated. Eventually, everybody knows who you really are.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/22 01:46 PM

I agree with this point. There is a real double standard. Manipulation behaviors from women are more tolerated than the ones performed by men.

It could be an explanation. But it seems men with the dark triad are also more attractive: https://www.menshealth.com.au/research-women-are-attracted-to-psychopaths/ It's not a surprise. That's something I never understood. If the man is already in a relationship, trying to steal him can have 2 consequences: 1) The man doesn't want to cheat or break up so it's useless. 2) He cheats his partner or breaks up for the new woman. But he'll probably do the same with the new woman. Who would want a man like this?

Men have to deal with an other problem: lack of experience also impacts the possibility of being in a relationship. Men are simpler that women so a woman who has never been in a relationship before would face few problems. But women value confidence and social skills. So the less a man experiments relationships, the less he learns and the harder it is for him to begin a relationship. It's the same problem as job interviews: you're not hired, so you don't learn, so don't acquire experience, so it…

It's much less important for women. Men don't give a shit about lack of experience.

And it's precisely because of this that so many men are so anxious about not having a relationship.

There isn't any solution other than improve oneself or looking for a partner elsewhere. We can't force women to be attracted to us. That said men should also be allowed to have standards. No man should be shamed to have preferences whether it is about weight, age, n-count, etc... Moreover life would be easier for us if we were more uncompromising with women who have bitchy attitudes.

It's consumerism but applied to relationships. Treating people like disposable things to your own satisfaction, without any regards to the pain inflicted to other people.

I think my post was misleading. Of course jokes should be allowed. Dark humor exists. There are jokes about cancer, about holocaust, etc... But the difference is when people make these jokes they really care about people dying from cancer and are horrified by what happened during WW2. To the contrary, when people joke about men suffering it's not only a joke. Most people don't care when a man is raped ("He wanted it") or abused ("Man up, you small dick!") . That's also true concerning jokes abou…

What bothers me is the double standard about this condition. Nobody's concerned by male baldness. And joking about it is considered as acceptable. It should be an issue for both gender.

Public image is the key in my opinion. Many people think they're concerned about morale opinion, about what is fair and what is not. But actually they worry about what is socially acceptable. Very few people care about men's right because they know advocating about men right would backlash to them. If misandry was shamed and if there was better respect for opinion about men's right then there would be a massive change.

Oh ok. You were right I could have misunderstood you. Indeed the problem men have with this phrase is that they interpret it like "Masculinity is toxic" or "Men are toxic".

You are baiting me. Not going to say the phrase which shall not be spoke because it’s too often misunderstood. I don't know what you're referring to. You can send a PM if you expect some misunderstood in this thread. I promise I'll be honest and cautious about my interpretation.

Well you did the right thing, you have my praise. And I might have been wrong to generalize my post to all women. But reading the comments of this thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments/t4lsjq/when_was_a_time_you_opened_up_to_woman_you_were/) really made me concerned about that problem.

No, of course. But let's say you're partner has no mental health problem and he knows your opinion about it. This person knows you won't support him if he developped depression or anxiety or grieving after the death of someone he cares a lot. So if his mood deteriorates he won't talk to you about it. Because he knows the risks.

It appears to me that men choose to remain stoic and strong with their lovers. It's time to ask the question WHY they choose to behave like this.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/22 12:55 PM

That being said, I agree that men should be encouraged to speak out more where they can. We should also encourage people to listen and respect men when they talk. Otherwise it's useless.

If they don't expect you to be supportive, don't expect them to be open and honest with their feelings.

And the point of this post is: men are more tolerant with women insecurities than women are with men insecurities.

I have another theory. Men have to compet to attract women. If you have sex with women with high body count then you'll be compared with many other men. So the probability that the woman won't be satisfied is higher. If there was less competition between men they would be less under pressure and more relaxed.

Women say they would like their partners to be more open about their feelings, their emotions, etc... But if a man does that then his partner is not attracted anymore.

I disagree. Men are far more tolerant with mental health disorders than women. As u/raccoon_mario_popoff said, women value confidence and social skills much more than men. Even for women suffering from depression or with crippling anxiety disorders. My ex-gf suffered from eating disorder but I loved her very much. She's the one who decided to break up, not me. I also have a friend whose ex girlfriend suffered from a severe form of social anxiety. He has no mental health disorder. Their relations…

Whoah you made me travel to the past. My little sister loved this movie so I had to watch it with her many times. I would never imagine that someday I'd come across a Barbie quote on Reddit xD

It could evolve. Men shoud learn to receive compliments from women without interpreting it as seduction. And they should also learn to make genuine compliments to women, without hidden motive.

Is it possible to learn this power?

I concur with your opinion. Talent or achievement are not very important for men. Looks are important for us of course but we're not that demanding. I don't look for a model, I'd be happy with 80% of the women.

I think your impression that women had better social skills in the couples you know can be explained in other way: generally speaking, women have better social skills than men. So I don't think the men valued these skills more than the women.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/22 07:28 PM

Well that's the difference between men and women. I also have ADHD and lack of social skill. But I don't have the luxury to choose a woman with social skills to make up.

I didn't say that people should be in relationship "in order to" fix their mental health problems. I only said that people being in a relationships have better chance to improve their mental health. So that's why it's harder for men.

It's exactly what I felt when I watched "Maleficent". The male characters are either bad, either dumb. It really disturbed me.

I think everything depends on "very briefly romantically involved". How short was it? How was the break-up? Who decided it? Have they ever slept together after that? It could make a huge difference.

This brings a smile. But the second one is disturbing: why is it "Guys, here us what you can do" Why isn't it "People, here is what you can do". Does this men that only men can help other men?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates20/02/22 08:22 AM

What I find the most disturbing is: why feminists consider this problem as non relevant? Helping boys and men would improve their mental health. An healthier mind provides stability, decreases agressivity. This would solve so many problems...

We could ask them "How would you feel if it happened to your brother or your son? Wouldn't you like him to be helped?".

Periods are a problem for women. But I still worry about it and wonder what can I do as man to ease their lives.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
