Yes it is. But currently theres only the MALES being talked about and have a term coined for it while the females its glossed over. Again all these traits are seen in people, but toxic masculinity was assigned for the idea of this behavior happening specifically to guys for being guys.

Yes the term purely exists just to show how societal “be a man” actually impacts men and in turn can make things worse for them. thats how i always interpreted it as well. An example i can think of is when during high school, boys think its neat and makes them cool to lie about having sex with a girl or even to show off her nudes. Stuff such as that isnt okay and a lot of times doesnt get corrected or told its uncool/ harming to the girls reputation and psyche. Like guys not speaking up for others actions. (And dont say im saying this situation only happens with guys, it does not.)

Well actually i think its an attempt to say the way society pressures men is a problem, not the men themselves. Thats what the whole idea of toxic masculinity is supposed to be. But with every idea, it becomes convoluted with the wrong attitude.
