Oh gosh...your last line. "Men in need of care" is probably a big reason most men want relationships, regardless of age.

I would love to hear some advice for women with disabilities. We often don't have the choices other women have, like keeping any kind of stable job. If we leave we are homeless. I really fully understand this advice of not getting trapped, I would just love advice on how to prevent that when you have few choices. It would be amazing if we could have a provincial/national/worldwide network of women who help other women gain independence from men. Maybe this is its own post 😅

Don't be embarrassed, unfortunately many of these happen to many women as we navigate patriarchal life. Thanks for posting your experiences.

I've always wondered if flashing cars in heavy traffic would cause an accident. I guess it depends how many men are on the road at that moment. I just stare at them and frown like there is something gross on their face. Works sometimes. Worth it when it does!

I too have realized the wonders of resting bitch face. I'm an automatic smiler. Smiling is in my nature, and looking at anything (a pretty garden, a bumblebee) makes me smile. I've been going for walks a lot like everyone else and when I wear a RBF out for my walk, I get less interaction.

I grew out my armpits, my legs and my lady bits for about 8 months during the pandemic. I learned what I liked, and what was social pressure for me. I learned that I like shaving my legs, for me. I like having hairy armpits, I just like how it looks. Also I am going to dye them turquoise to match my hair so that's exciting! Aaand my lady bits I realized I like shaving everything but the fuzz patch at the front...right before my period. I like that it's easy to clean up while I'm blessing for 5 d…

I think the cafe is a brilliant idea and it would be so popular! I just worry about your safety, if that was a reaction from a friend to the mere idea of women having one space for themselves. I'm just imagining now, really buff female security guards and a beautiful cafe inside where women are actually comfortable and not threatened for existing in the space. I hope you are able to execute your dream sis!

I had en ex who lied about the simplest things like that. It stemmed from insecurity. He thought the little things he lied about didn't matter and made him more credible and more worthy in my eyes. I clearly remember having dinner with his family once and bringing up a past job of his, just to have his mom reply with confusion that he had never worked there. He lied about friends he had, that I was never introduced to. Just lies to make his life seem like a life he thought would seem cool. This …

This 10000% I dated a guy from my friend group who ended up raping me and I left him after trying to explain to him how what he did was wrong. He harassed me for a year after our breakup, usually by swearing he was going to be civil, showing up at a friend gathering and attacking me with slurs and childish aggressive mannerisms. I never told those friends about the assault, at the time I was 18 and thought I would ruin his life if I said anything. I told some of those friends years later once I …

If sending the message really does help you, then I'd say go for it. The reason we are so adamant here about not over engaging lvm post breakup, is that they WILL use whatever you write as a platform to continue contacting you. He may also reply in a way that makes you feel even worse.

I had the typical traditional dynamic growing up where the dad works all week, comes home to home cooked meals and the kids taken care of, eats dinner then sits in front of the tv. My mom did everything...it's too much to list. You ladies know exactly what I mean. On top of that, my dad wasn't very social so it was up to my mom to organize literally every aspect of their lives other than the 40h per week tech job. I've had to constantly battle my inner instinct to be like my mom and do everythin…

I think it's a bit of both extremes. You're doing well, so men who want someone to take care of them (emotionally, physically etc) will go for you, as well as HVM. On the other end, you're not doing well, abusive men can take advantage of that too. It's messed up. We always have to be careful all the time.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/01/21 10:30 PM

That's disgustingly accurate about society. I would argue men like us when we are not doing so well and they feel they can "save" us or have an easy gf that won't leave. If we are doing too well it's intimidating.

Everytime I've explained something scientific to a man, I have to keep it really short and sweet, or else they just stop listening. You can see it in their eyes. I've also had to say "google it! I'm not just saying bs" because they're like Nahhhh that doesn't work like that!

I feel like living with someone is already a huge commitment. Getting married seems like it's really extra. Also it was originally intended as an exchange of property where the woman was passed from the Father to the Husband. My entire soul cringes at that.

They did a study on this! Took an anonymous poll of a bunch of men and asked them if they could rape without consequences would they? The numbers were... disheartening. I'll try to find it and post the link.

Cause men will treat it like normal sex, they aren't going to out themselves, especially with that scary scary R word. Don't you know if they say it out loud they lose their male status card for a limited time?

Yes! All of this. I'm at the stage where my girl friends are pressuring their boyfriends to propose. Its hard to watch. Obviously I talk to them about it and support them but I wish they knew deep down that they are worth way more!

Don't forget the groceries, appointments, social outings, vacation plans, house decoration/organization, the "harder" chores (washing floors, cleaning out fridge, ironing etc), making sure the house is always stocked of essentials, birthday/anniversary reminders, staying on top of plant/pet health, and so much more. Bonus actions: making sure their passports/license/ important documents are up to date. Calling their parents once in a blue moon.

Oof, my ex of two years was a terrible combo of gaslighting and constantly accusing me of cheating (when I was 5 min late once he said it was because I had sex with someone in my car before leaving work). I always stayed calm ableit I cried quite a bit, but when I broke up with him while sitting in my car outside his house, I had to literally yell at him because he refused to get out of the car. He would not get out and I had reached my limit. He was trying to debate the breakup.

Dressing up just means you put extra thought and coordination into your clothing choice for your own happiness. It doesn’t have to be feminine or masculine. It’s just you feeling extra good about what you’ve put on that day. Also dressing up does not equal dressing impractically.

I’ve lost so many male friendships to this. Recently, I had an old high school friend (high school was 10ish years ago for me) come out to a mutual friends birthday and upon seeing me, told me how much he had wanted me in high school and how if he had asked me out before my first bf we would have been dating now and he just went on about how good I still looked and I straight up asked him “Hey, is there any way we can have a normal friend conversation?” And he said yes, agreed with me....then co…

I feel like I have to chip in and say that I do actually enjoy it. Not often, and with much lube and care, but it truly feels good to me in such a different way. I would never do it with a partner that I don’t 100% trust though. And not for long sessions. Once in a blue moon I’m in the mood for it though and it’s fantastic.

That last line really stuck in my brain. Women provided all the critical services so men could have leisure time. Now no one has real leisure time. Everyone works. Everyone does dishes and laundry. I’m not making any point, it just gave me a good think!

I get that attraction for sure, I’m in the same boat. I’m in a LTR though so I haven’t had the experience of dating guys in their late 20s who may or may not still live at home. Maybe I would judge them just a little for not having already overcome the step of living on their own. I would definitely question their cooking skills. It would not be a red flag though. Just some extra questions.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/11/19 05:43 AM

You’re right and I totally agree with you. I guess what I’m saying is I know a few men who have excellent relationships with their families and high paying jobs and are just staying home so that when they move out they can buy a house instead of renting. It’s another approach to starting life that I don’t think is necessarily a negative.

Depends on the guy, there’s “living at home because of no ambitions” and “tolerating living with parents to achieve financial stability” Rent is no joke here. It’s very expensive to live on your own.

I needed to see this list! Just got cleared by my physiotherapist to start working out again but I couldn’t bring myself to want to go just “to look hot” - which yes, can be great, but I like the curves I’ve acquired and so being very skinny again is not that appealing.
