Sign up on Spinster, have some activity then ask for someone to let you in. I eventually ended up getting in that way.

Nevermind that the risk will be close to zero (maybe) if she doesn't go to his house at all but that kind of logic escapes people like them...

I dare them to find one comment saying we need gov't mandated husband's/dick or else we'll shoot up the nearest frat house. Hell, show me one of those comments ANYWHERE on the internet. Just one!!

Your second paragraph is exactly what I'm driving at. I prefer to shop alone anyway and put a lot of time into researching before I make large/specialty purchases. I'd much rather pick out exactly what I want myself than risk getting something close but not quite what I wanted, regardless of how well-meaning the gifter is. Then you're burdened to make use of it out of politeness, lest you appear ungrateful. I sew too so a Walmart gift card (even though they sell fabric) is "ugh", a Joann's gift …

I get that 100%. Long distance gift cards are perfect especially with mail service and porch poachers being a nightmare during the holiday season. But in the case of your ex, he could've taken the extra step to at least buy one for your favorite store especially since you were (presumably) having sex with him. Giving gift cards can be dicey but I'm not going to pretend like I'll turn up my nose for the right one.

I agree with you but I think gift cards offer the opportunity to be thoughtful so let's talk about it... If she crafts, a gift card to a really niche shop for supplies or a new machine would be thoughtful. If she's a reader, a gift card to Barnes so she can be first in line for the latest releases and special editions of her favorite authors' work is thoughtful. If she just bought a house, a Pier 1 gift card to get fancy art deco tchotkes is thoughtful. A generic Visa gift card from 7-11 is not …

Dumping men after the first (maybe second) poor performance is how you avoid this. Or don't even let it get that far the first time. Bad kissers and negligent touchers are horrible lovers.

Obviously this dude has never actually charmed and lied his way to get sex, because if he did, he'd know that men don't "pump and dump" because of something the woman did. They do so because from day 1 their intention was to get laid and they never wanted a relationship. Exactly. They act like men don't intentionally seek out relationship minded/material women to have sex with bc they're not "easy". Men don't take pride in having a high body count of prostitutes. To them, there's no conquest ach…

This is why it's fair to assume that every man only wants sex unless he goes out of his way to prove otherwise. Let him work his ass off. Whether he gives up along the way or sticks it out and proves his value before you have sex with him, you win. And he's saying to lower our standards but not complain about being pumped and dumped? PAD is LVM behavior so wtf kind of doublespeak is this??

It's laziness. Think about it. How many women do you know actually buy those 3 in 1 shampoo conditioner body wash abominations for themselves? We take the extra 5 to 10 min after a shower to fully moisturize our skin. We wear masks and socks to self care while we sleep. Washing our hair can turn into a full day thing bc there are multiple steps to doing it correctly. Doing our pedis can take an hour+ bc we know foot care doesn't stop at just clipping toenails. We carry lotion and chapstick and a…

Remember that episode of Johnny Bravo when a dumpy short guy teaches Johnny how to pick up girls by being sensitive and nice with some Schoolhouse Rock type jingles? Then the dude turns around and admits it's all an act and Johnny busts him out? The Tenderman is that dumpy short guy. The faux-menist.

It's just a poppy Christmas song that did exactly what it was supposed to do, become a huge hit, get stuck in people's heads and secure a place in the holiday music rotation until the end of time. Plus she literally already has everything most people could ever want so it makes sense that all she'd want for Christmas is you (loved ones).

I'm about 6 feet and pretty much only feminine in my wardrobe. I've NEVER been turned down due to my height. In my experience men for the most part don't care as much as long as you're HWP and attractive. The ones that do and want you to put away your heels can take one of em in his ass otw out Remarks on my height from men range from obvious/dated ("How's the weather up there?") to flirty (tall glass of water) but nothing bad like I heard growing up. Christ on a bike!! Sounds just like this really sad loan case that recently aired on Judge Judy. This beautiful Native American lady in her 20s aged out of foster care and wound up with this dust bunny then had 3 of her 4 kids with him. He was in his 40's, marginally employed (he made sure to fight JJ on answering what he did for a living), staying with her most of the time and refusing to pony up the delinquent rent on the apartment his family member (the plaintiff) co-signed on. She's crying bc she's mortified that she married a b*tch-made weenie boy. The correct reaction would've been for him to go smooth off on that asshole and maybe fight back the urge to sock him in the jaw. Can you imagine being this guy? His wife is leagues away from sharing the same air, let alone a room, as that gaggle of lonely losers and they managed to punk him. THIS is actual emasculation.

He seems like a wholesome dude but eventually you'll start coming across some bullshit. Like you shouldn't nag him about not doing the dishes bc "remember, he could be at someone else's house not doing the dishes" but won't examine how there'd be no nagging if he just did the goddamned dishes! Don't get your honey where you make your money! Tbf we've seen worse. I don't think he's into her though. Just seems like he was being nice and used the virgin thing as an out bc how many men would admit that? He might be a conservative dude who'd rather date someone from church or something and that's not a bad thing. Not even after he's been vetted. They can and will use it against you. Tell that stuff to your mom, a shrink or maybe your best friend, not him. He doesn't want to know about it anyway so keep your mouth shut. For some reason, we're held to getting relationships right on the very first try. We're expected to get married well before our brains are fully formed and to the very first guy that's nice to us.

These tired drugstore beauty boxes are appropriate for: Your 9 y/o cousin's Caboodles box A middle schooler who got dropped off at Walmart with $15 from their parents to shop their secret Santa A "we thought about you a little bit" for a school bus driver or the mail lady A booby prize at your work's raffle Do NOT buy these for grown ass women you care about! And who's fault is this, women's? Btw, more men commit suicide bc "men don't cry", they think emotions and intimate male friendships are gay (we didn't make those rules) and they use the most brutal and messy methods. Men serve more prison time for the same crime bc they commit more of the crimes and therefore have more of a record when they're sentenced. But no one wants to talk about that though... Any woman who rocks the hell out of her wabi sabi (perfections in flaws) and isn't self conscious about it or at least doesn't show it. Imperfect smiles, 6'0"+ tall, unusual birthmarks/vitiligo, a prominent facial feature. Interesting hands. Glowing from health and vitality bc that shit takes work and discipline to have it naturally. You just had to bring up the mason jar guy! He was way older than her, moved into her house, complained about her lemon water not being fancy enough to drink out the jars (think he called her fat too) and that they took up too much of her cabinet space. When she wasn't looking, he threw them away. Couldn't box up a few and store them in the closet. It bothered him so much he just pitched him. He's almost as awful as the plant room killer.

To be fair he's not completely wrong but no, we're not oblivious to it at all. If a guy is too inexperienced or stupid to notice when we give them the green light and too chickenshit to make a move, that's on him. More often that not, this is not why rejection happens. Men usually get rejected bc they completely ignore our blatant "fuck off" signals (books, headphones, greyrocking during interaction) or are trying to approach us at inappropriate times and settings (running errands late at night,…

Review time: It's safe to assume that ALL communication initiated by men online (or anywhere else for that matter) is creepy. Men can't even ignore their dicks to play Words With Friends if they know a woman is on the other end. We know that men only voluntarily interact with us when they find us attractive or if they're being paid. Men for the most part actively avoid/ignore women they find unfuckable unless it's absolutely necessary. If that wasn't true then #notjusthello wouldn't be a thing. …

And fuck the men saying this isn't a valid argument bc the unpoisoned ones have nothing to do with the ones that are poison. That's not the point. The issue is they ALL look identical to each other and there's no way to tell them apart without taking a risk and eating some.

It's not about entitlement, bc you're right, I'm not entitled to those things but if he doesn't make the effort to show that I'm special to him he's out. I'd rather have the smaller prize you won me at the carnival game after trying so hard than the giant teddy bear you straight up bought from the guy running the game. When I see this exchange it reminds me of how the "secret" of ordering fries with no salt (and salt packets on the side) to guarantee that you get them hot and fresh just causes eyerolls. The fast food workers know what you're getting at and they're less irritated if you just say you want fresh fries...or just go during peak times bc they'll constantly be making fries anyway to keep up with the demand but I digress... Dialogue like this is just giving the game away. Like this is only your standa…

Female birth control is not as easy to get as people say. If you have no insurance, Planned Parenthood might be your only hope bc no one else will want to see you. At the very least (say getting the pill or nuvaring) you have to hunt down a gyno and wait weeks to months for an appointment where all they do is take a few vitals and ask a few questions to write you a script. And if you want a diaphragm or cervical cap good luck. Your gyno might not have the equipment to measure you for one and you…

This break up is a blessing in disguise. Can you imagine if he would've moved in with her? The reason this works is because it's an event to you if you're in this fandom - not some random film. Nailed it. There's a difference between seeing the new so-and-so movie bc it's part of the fan culture you both enjoy and just going to the movies as the old tired standby for a date. I'd say the latter applies to most men unless it's Marvel or Star Wars or something (I'm a fan of neither).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/10/20 01:12 PM

I can get that. I for example love botanical/butterfly gardens bc they're beautiful but I wouldn't call it a date choice. I don't think people care that much about just looking at exotic plants and flowers.

Popular date ideas that actually suck: A zoo or aquarium. That's something you do with the kids in your family when they're 6 years old bc it's more of an education field trip kind of thing. When the trash takes itself out, you do not go outside to the curb, fish it out the bin and bring it back into your house! When roses start to smell like shit, they never go back to smelling like roses.

Ok y'all are going to hate me but I agree with one part of the overall sentiment. A couple of early 20-somethings still in college working $9/hr jobs dropping $45k+ on a one-day celebration of a union that has a 1/2 to 2/3 chance of not lasting anyway is not the smartest idea based on the numbers and stats. I personally wouldn't want to spend that much on a wedding. To me it seems too risky and expensive but I'm not going to knock those who do if they have it like that. Not shaming anyone's stan…

He's not incorrect but just like you said, the ones who make you a priority will move to the front of the line. If you don't want to put forth the effort, fine but then don't complain when she moves on from not going for the radio silence. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Out of sight, out of mind.

Just like female body hair removal and douching, "cellulite is bad/ugly" is a patriarchal invention to make women feel like shit. Companies literally sat around and decided to make these a "problem" just to make us buy stuff. Now shaving your legs isn't as harmful compared to the others but let's not act like we don't know how body hair removal, douching and lipo for women came about. Like you said, don't be ashamed about something that's natural to our sex.

You can get home screening kits but the ones that include herpes are VERY expensive. Most Planned Parenthoods test for free once a month but it's walk-in only and doesn't include herpes unless symptoms are showing. Instant home tests for HIV are sold at pharmacies and last I checked they were like $50. I've heard there's a huge problem with doctors giving false positives for herpes when diagnosing cases of BV. I think some sort of condom underwear is on the market for protection against HPV but …

Privacy and being able to do whatever the hell you want to do no matter what. You're not on anybody's time but your own. Wake up in the middle of the night with the munchies? You can go to Taco Bell at 3am. Had a little too much wine with your girlfriends? You can sleep it off at her place. You want to see your mom everyday right after work? You can do that and all off these things without hearing his bitching about it being "suspicious".

That we're emotionally intelligent enough to have fulfilling relationships with other women like our best friends and mothers. We can hug, hold hands, sit closely to each other, share a bed, send each other cards, talk for hours, etc. Men are too scared to be that emotionally vulnerable even if it's for their own good so they would say it's "gay".

Your point about the law is an excellent one. They love locking women up for self defense. And you can pretty much forget renting a home with a pit anyway even if you exploit the ESA loophole. I LOVE pits but I can't downvote this bc it's a fact that pits are a dangerous breed and like 90% of pit owners suck. When shit goes down it's always the pit and victims that end up paying for it. Pits are sweet and loving but definitely not a breed any boob can just bring home. You have to know wtf you're doing all the time. But if I lived alone (ofc having enough time and resources to raise and train it properly) and decided to get a dog for protection, it would be a pit.

But if he lets his dog off leash where it shouldn’t be, he can’t respect rules and boundaries for SURE ESPECIALLY this. The guy I mentioned in my comment would take them to any field and let them off leash even after one of them got into a main road and got hit (the dog ended up being ok and got right back up without a scratch but still)!! Very interesting. I lived with a guy who had two dogs. They were well behaved for the most part. The younger one, a rescued pitty was really happy and playful so he was a touch rambunctious when excited. What was sad and horrible was that we fought so much that they would both run to the closet and shake until we were done. We'd have to coax them out the closet. It then got so bad that if we suddenly yelled too loudly in their presence (like even too-loud laughter) they would take off to the clo…

What would really be "fair" is paying only for herself if he wants to take it that far. The household is going from 2 people to 4. Her paying half is not equal. He needs to pay 3 quarters of everything. Not worth it. Get rid of him!!

I'm not focusing on that part at all. I know you don't mean "enemy" per se. The bottom line is trying to get them to admit a flaw specifically from the view of others, friend or foe. I understand that aspect completely. "I have no enemies" is the equivalent of saying you don't have flaws which is why I compared it to that interview question. It's the exact same premise.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/08/20 02:20 AM

Idk "I don't have any enemies" is like responding to the "what's your biggest weakness" job interview question with "i have no weaknesses". It's a supposedly perfect answer that's actually bullshit.

If you have their full name, date of birth and hometown (or where he graduated HS) you can get a good chunk of info from those background check websites. Most of them offer free 1 to 2 week trials that you can cancel before being billed or you can pay like $5 for a one-time report. If you use the trials make sure you're able to cancel them on your own versus having to contact the company.

It's true that men can't get in unless they come with a woman. I've been a fly on the wall at these places a few times. Even if they have their "beard" to get in, the single men still won't get laid. The single women will either join the couples, hook up with other women or just not participate. It was interesting to watch but I've never seen a hot single guy at these things unless they were the staff.

Deb explains in 18 min why you should never propose: https://youtu.be/zrrE6TAVomk The reason I found most interesting is what she says about marriage-minded men dreaming about the day they'll pull off a special proposal to the woman they're in love with and you snatch that (ideally) once in a lifetime opportunity away by beating him to the punch.

Men: can't stand it when you enjoy something harmless that doesn't effect him, willing to call it quits to over cucumbers, will throw out your mason jars and destroy your plant room. Hard pass unless you already have children or you're old enough to date someone with adult children (kids are 25+). With single dads for the most part, you'll either be placed last or with a shitty father. If he has minor children, you'll also be on the hook for child support if you marry him and you could find the both of you with full custody if something happens to the kids mom and dad doesn't want them in foster care. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I have one of these lists in my journal! Made it about a week before I finally got the courage to leave and stay gone. If you're in a situation like this, make yourself a list of pros and cons. If there are just as or more cons than pros (Idc if it's a 51/49 split, that's still too many cons) then it's time to go. Even if things "have been good lately" it never lasts. I have a feeling that he wanted this to happen badly enough to secretly keep track of her cycle. He sounds like a psycho narc. I hope she finds a way away from this cretin!

I say "tits" all the time. Never thought about it until now but is there any slang word for breasts (or any sexualized body part for that matter) that isn't crass to some degree? Boobs/boobies, titties, funbags, knockers, puppies, tatas, honkers, melons, hooters, chichis, creampuffs, fried eggs, bazooms, chesticles, etc. They all sound goofy and childish. Boobs is probably the least offensive bc even children say it and get a pass. Tits/titties is censored in media most of the time and everythin…

At least it's not the army...I don't care that he failed university bc college really isn't for everyone and education has nothing to do with how intelligent you are...but he couldn't even go to a trade school (especially paid for by the military)? I'd say it's possible for a dude you consider to be average-looking to "cute" to go up a notch or two if you're really into him. I'm my case he'd have to be at least a 7 to catch my attention at first glance and that has potential to go up to a 9 or even (what I'd consider) a 10. Likewise my last bf was objectively an 8.5 but he treated me horribly which brought him down to a 5 by the time I was done with him. Personally I would avoid answering this bc it could be a trap. At the end of the day relationships fail bc one or both parties aren't getting what they signed on for. Being too specific about what the other person did wrong is a setup bc you're revealing what you willingly put up with (so he'll know what to hide until you find yourself caught up in his bull) and potential baggage that should have nothing to do with this relationship. I'd say the only 2 reasons that get a pass no questions asked …

Oof this is tough! I agree with the others saying you should just choose a new one altogether and as a POC myself you're right about getting more consideration in the professional world with an Americanized name. But be careful of that too bc even certain American names can cause what you're trying to avoid.

They want control over people period and especially women. I watched an episode of the Infographics Show last night about a couple who went to jail for robbing a petstore recounting their experiences in male/female jails and it went just as you expected. What really hit me is that in addition to the lower overall violence in women's jails, it said there were more instances of self-harm. Even the women who were mentally ill and/or pissed at the world for whatever reason were more likely to hurt t…

That's fine. We're always waiting for you to weed yourselves out doing stupid shit like this. I always love it when the trash takes itself out. This guy doesn't realize that while he thinks he's giving a shit-test, he's outing himself as someone with no respect, tact or consideration for boundaries (the latter in this case carrying a borderline rapey mentality). You don't tease someone you've just met, even by accident so even if he "backs down" I'm still eliminating him bc he's stupid.

Wtf men have enough body positivity. Nobody cared about Chris Farley, Artie Lang, John Goodman, John Candy, etc. about being fat (morbidly obese actually) but were screeeeaaaaming about Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Mo'Nique, Queen Latifah, Kirstie Alley and so on about being fat, especially if they tried to be body positive (or at least pro-fat). That's an interesting experience. Ofc the number and age of the children and the couple's relationship status are factors here too. I heard someone say that the best motivator for changing habits like this is to appeal to someone's vanity. In middle school they used to preach hygiene not for health but bc no one would want to be around you if you stink; you wouldn't have friends, a romantic life or a job if you were smelly. I agree. I don't have enough information to side one way or the other on this so I'm gonna say they both should go their own way and do their own 100:100. Her making 40% more than what he does (assuming it's more than min wage) means she can probably afford her own place anyway. I'd say for cohabitating couples not going 50:50, whoever makes more (or has the home in their name) pays rent while the other gets utilities and groceries. Most chores can be divided anyway.

Wait does that mean women stop having sex with men when they feel unappreciated and are not actually using it as "a wEaPoN aGaInSt mEn"?? Shocker!

It's not something I would ask about but if he admitted to doing gangbangs, sex with a drunk woman, sexual activity with men, prostitutes or orgies, having sex indiscriminately I'm out. If it's so acceptable for sexual past to be held against us then we can hold it against them

When I forget to wear my fake wedding ring I have to get creative. My favorites are talking about my 6 children with 5 baby daddies or being on parole for aggravated assault and battery or counterfeiting.

Years ago I wore makeup everyday to work. Foundation, blush, liner, lashes, brows and lips on top of styling my hair (before going natural). I don't anymore bc I wanted the 2 hours of sleep back. I wear it on special occasions. It's nice to glow up once in a while rather than be caught without your "face on" and people ask if you're sick. Also noticed people don't say how great your skin is when you're wearing makeup.

Has anyone tried eHarmony or Match? I hear they're good bc you have to pay and they have selective screening (ex. you can't get in if you've been married 4+ times).

To me, it's not about gender roles, it's about what's worth giving up my independence and risking my physical/emotional/mental safety when I don't need to. If I'm completely 100% happy in every aspect of my life and you can't make my life easier/better and push that to 110%, wtf do I want a relationship with you for?

Did I change? Not really. I don't think people really change anyway. I can say my behavior definitely did. Lost out on a lot of bonding and opportunities that I may not ever get to have again for absolutely nothing. Never dim your light to make another one shine brighter.

I will admit: I’ve strayed a bit in the past. I’m not proud of it, but I can’t apologize. It is a fact. I’ve been careful, safe, and never disrespectful of her during my interludes. Yeah you're totally not being disrespectful towards your wife while you're fucking other women. Then he goes on to say how he washed the dishes and swept the floor. Ooooh! He lacks open mindedness and has a short temper when it comes to his idiot friends but when you count all the episodes he's bailed his wife, son, friends, boss, neighbors, niece and his parents out of trouble...he does go out of his way to save people from themselves and is willing to eat crow once in a while. Don't get me wrong, I'd head for the hills anyway. It's just that the other post was talking about selfish vs altruistic reasons for men to be pro life/choice and we didn't really talk about which one religion falls under on the pro-life side even though that's a common argument. While you and I don't give a rat's ass, I think that's something that h would cross the mind of our OP a woman of faith when dealing with other men of faith.

He then said: "I apologize that came out the wrong way, I was only joking. I was just trying to compliment a really pretty girl. You should really learn to take a joke." This guy can fuck all the way off straight to hell. He wasn't even trying to neg you. He probably does this all the time to random women just to have something to smirk and be smug about. Ladies, learn to talk hella shit so you can scalp guys like these and not give them that satisfaction.

I love this question. The short answer is that you start to hate him, you're just tired and you finally figure out and are 100% undoubtful that life will be easier all around without him. After years of neglect, abuse and fighting, I found that I just ran out of love. I like to think of it as a fighting video game. You can only take so many spinning kicks, 10-hit combos and fireballs before your health meter runs out and you're ko'ed. Sure if you know the opponent's moves you can block but they …

Ooh boy. Should they be marketed to that age group? No. But I started masturbating at that age. You do have to be 18 to go to sex shops but vibrators are sold at Spencers (tacky gift shop mall store) and drugstores and it's not hard to find "personal massagers".
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/06/20 09:35 PM

I don't like staying on hold. If the waiting call is more important (like an appointment) I'd rather they just call me back bc you can't always tell how long that'll take. But even calls for appointments, work, etc. are likely to be received only in a certain window of time during the day so they should be able to plan around that and minimize the possibility of that interfering with your phone time together.

How do you feel about the religious reason? My thing is that reason could be considered halfway valid but every man I know who uses that excuse is also totally ok with premarital sex, sodomy (oral sex is sodomy too), capital punishment, etc.

In addition to condoms, this has been my experience: NuvaRing: last I checked these contain a fraction of the hormones in even the lower dose formulas of the pill. I've been pretty happy with it. Pill: eventually killef my libido (used to take maca capsules to make up for it). If one formula doesn't work there are many more you can try but who wants to go through all that. Stopping it after a few years then starting again lead to months of non-stop spotting which was so annoying. I tried to get …

During that discussion she said "I don't like the way he treats women." That and many other things finally made me realize how fortunate I am that we never rekindled anything. They say that but (1) they don't mean it and (2) men who say this done even want to pay for a prostitute to get guaranteed sex (of course we're against prostitution too but for the right reasons).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/06/20 06:29 PM
5

That's fair and I too can disagree respectfully. I'm not talking about finding him attractive, I'm talking about actually being attracted to and interested in him beyond friendship. I can find him objectively attractive without actually being attracted to him. Ok maybe that's a little more nuanced than what most would consider, but I'm saying that if at least one person wants more and has those sparks going off, a platonic relationship isn't going to be enough.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/06/20 03:39 PM
26

IMO this only works when neither are attracted to each other. If one or both are attracted (there's a difference being finding someone attractive and being attracted to someone) a platonic friendship is not possible.

I didn't downvote it but I disagreed bc there are men who will actually ask you and some can even light up spots you didn't even know about. But jokes aside, there's so many things wrong with this picture and I'm not too confident that she'll follow through with leaving him. And I can't count the number of times I've u-turned back to the house to make sure I really did turn off the stove.

I hope he's out in his truck one day and comes back to find the house completely empty of the life she gave it...and that she moves into a new beautiful house of her own where every room is a plant room so she'll always feel like she's in some kind of mystical fairy garden.

I'm 1000% sure it's about that truck. Sounds like it came out of their joint savings. That's not necessarily bad on its own but I'd bet my left ovary that he signed on for a brand-new 2020 $18k+ truck or something instead of a reliable economy sedan.

That coupled with "warehouse worker" says it all. These are the guys who skirted through high school and never felt the need to further their education bc they're pulling $14-$17 (enough to live on in a poor major city) an hour picker-packing.

Not a day goes by that I don't wonder the same thing. Why are men so retarded that they deny any problems exist and brush them off even after you tell them (and it's always more than once), and then have the nerve to be bewildered when their lady leaves them "out of the blue"?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/06/20 04:05 AM

1 month is definitely too early to be exclusive. Wait at least 90 days bc most people can't keep their "mask" on beyond that. Until you're exclusive, you can keep using dating apps. Don't tell him bc it's really none of his business. You should be dating more than one person at a time anyway.

Dating a guy with kids is a no-no. If he's a great dad, you'll always be second. If he makes you or anyone else first, he's a lousy dad. I won't win with these dudes so they're automatically written off. Men with adult kids don't get a pass either bc they're too old.

Not sure if you can have a secret one when you're married. Maybe stash it under the name of family you really trust? But that could get you in trouble if you're found out. I think you it's possible for you to get one just for yourself only it wouldn't be a secret and there might be some red tape involved for your spouse to not get their paws on it. Dog in the manger. For those who don't know this saying, it comes from a story about a dog being so salty that he couldn't eat the hay (can't remember why maybe allergies) in the manger like the other animals that he sat on top of all the hay so no one else could have it.

Good point. Idk if I'd even want an heirloom (assuming it is really an heirloom) with such a strong history bc I'd feel so rotten if I lost it. I'd probably only wear it in the presence of his family at gatherings and such.

Sis, I've been in your shoes and I can smell this long con in the making. Here's a little bit of what you'll be in for if you don't drop his old ass: Being robbed of your adult youth. Hell, you haven't even been of legal US drinking/smoking age for a whole year yet. There's still bars and clubs you're too young to enter! You might even be too young to rent a car on your own! I'll say this again: those men also purposely target the most attractive women with negative personality traits such as low self esteem, insecurity and other pickmeisha characteristics. They deliberately look for women whose minds they can turn into mush with their manipulation and poor treatment. Ain't that fucked up?? But don't take my word for it. Listen to the tons of videos aligned with those ideals that tell these men to avoid women with high self worth who are independent and sure of them…

Every reason except the first one (and maybe not even then) won't work bc they all imply "not now" which is hardly an actual "no". To address the general question, I don't let them know I'm not physically attracted to him. Just fade to black. The most they'll get is "We're not compatible." and if he wants to waste his time figuring out exactly why that's not my problem. It's just like when you apply for the job.
