Interesting. Curious on all of your opinions, I see a general consensus that if a woman is cheating on her SO she almost always becomes much less sexually reciprocative to the SO. But, this post got me thinking, is losing interest in the SO necessary? Couldn't she have a natural preference for whoever she cheats with while still being attracted to her SO? I don't know if that makes any sense, interested in knowing if you guys think that's a thing or if it's extremely unlikely.

Thanks for replying! I think you have some really good advice and it's formatted nicely. Honestly, I do feel like I like myself. I didn't before, but as I've worked to change myself into the person I truly am and want to be, I've felt like I was taking off a mask that I hated wearing. Like killing two birds with one stone. Maybe some of that self-loathing still carries over? It's hard for me to say right now, but your reply was very insightful and I'll be meditating on the questions you provided…

Sounds cathartic, I'll give that a shot, too.

ASD? But yeah I've heard it before, it's just that it's always been easy to qualify as a lie. She seems serious about it, but then maybe I'm not all that attractive. I don't know what to do.

Yeah immediately after I went and hooked up with other girls. There are multiple girls that do stuff for me (bring me lunch/dinner, invite me to parties, buy me stuff) that I know want to date me, but it didn't help me at all. Remembering cons helps, but even then it's tough to fight. If you have any other tips I'd really appreciate them.

Too right. I'll try to work on that. I almost feel like it'd be easier if she got a new boyfriend or FWB because it's easy to still feel like she's "mine". I know there are plenty of better girls out there, I think I already have a few that are better, but I need to work on seeing my ex as a person who doesn't have the traits I'm looking for, not as something that I used to have. Any tips for that?

Yeah I tend to hold girls at a distance, things just work better without all the "open up and be emotional" stuff. And I know being sensitive is sort of frowned upon here, but you nailed it. I didn't completely open up to my ex, but I did connect with her more than anyone else, and with the girls I hook up with now I stay pretty distant. And I think you're completely right again about that connection being what I'm missing. Like you said, though, I don't want to just trade one case of oneitis fo…

Definitely true, I know it's easy to project traits onto others. The thing that bothers me is that I see all these flaws, and I can confidently say "yeah she's definitely not relationship material," and completely mean it, but I'm still stuck on it. It reads like a bad alpha widow story, but I really don't know why I'm stuck here when I know she has nothing I want.

Have her blocked on social media, deleted all the pictures, her contact, etc. It helped at first, but there's nothing I can seem to do to make it permanent.

Okay, I'll keep at it, then. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your advice and taking the time to reply. That's exactly what I set out to do to get over her, because I couldn't imagine why I would stay hung up on a girl if I had multiple girls who were better than her. She never made me food, and truth be told, the sex was mediocre. The current girls I hook up with are generally more attractive than her. There are a couple that aren't, but it should only take one. I don't know what else to do besides continuing to expand my roster.

Yeah, you should have. I've noticed truly accepting TRP implies giving up LTRs entirely, generally an extremely difficult thing to do, so most people here tend to soften it down by believing putting RP values in your LTR will still be sufficient. This is a possibility, but I don't really support this watered down version of TRP. tl;dr yes, but with the influx of new members, very few are willing to outright accept this without detaching themselves over time

Can someone help me understand this? I've read all of the sidebar and been part of the community for a while (never made an account to post until recently), and while I understand the basics of shit tests and not making yourself so available, I still don't really understand how just being an asshole is attractive, other than that it shows intrinsic value at best.

You can attempt to take the pill: understand theory, read the sidebar, etc., while still living a BP life. I see TRP as a growing process. Once you have a firm understanding of the theory, you begin applying it in every day life, as you slowly work to improve yourself.

That makes a lot of sense. I'm glad you replied because you explained it really well and I think you're exactly right. I'm going to follow your advice. ♂ Thank you!
