The dymanics between males and females aren't even comparible to the dynamics between white people and black people...

Having to do unpaid military service and having to be called to military again (at least paid this time) because I'm male and they need my profession.

Isnt feminism supposed to fight for men's rights to be feminine too? them claiming that is purely performative

You forget the rule #1 of gender discourse: If a woman says something misandrist it's satire/joke/ragebait, if a man says something misogynist it's serious and also somehow represents the views of all men I cannot count how many times I see something incredibly misandrist said by a feminist woman and people run to excuse it claiming it's satire, joke, ragebait etc even though they never ever have a disclaimer stating that.

This comment was reported for generalizing language and I won't remove it because "A lot of women" does not imply all women nor even the most this should also be a good example of what is allowed and not.

The problem with feminism is not that it's not doing enough to raise awareness and fix men's issues, personally I don't even expect them to. The problem is they are activelly ereasing male victims, advocating against progress for males and engaging in hate speech.

There are crazy people out there but thankfully the hype of woman >> men is dying now. The first few people who came out saying woman aren't better at men at everything were ridiculed and dragged through the mud but now more and more people are seeing this to be real. Just relax and move slow. The insane people will eventually show their bias and be pushed aside. All the change I'm witnessing so far is the exact opposite of what you mentioned if anything it's the people who say that men aren't i…

You are just denying the evidence shown to your face by claiming men don't face discrimination. There is not a single country in the world that forcefully conscripts women except for Israel and even Israel make them serve shorter and deploy them in safer positions while there are many countries that forcibly conscript men. In every place that female genital mutiliation is legal so is male genital mutiliation but there is not single place on earth where FGM is legal but MGM is not. Yes black men …

Males make up almost %100 of combatant casualties and also the majority of civilian casualties in vast majority of wars happened and happening around the world so yes it is fair to say they DO suffer more. Normally not my cup of tea to make comparisions but you the one tho brought up oppression olympics by stating that men don't face discrimination based on their gender. Also military service is unpaid, well it is actually paid but a fraction of minimal wage, usually less than what someone will be spending on cafeteria and stuff during their military service. And of course you will not be getting paid from whatever job you had before militaty even if it's a government job. There is an option to shorten your military service from 6 months to 1, by paying around a year's worth of minimal wage which is actually more profitable for people with decent income for the …

The biology argument is kinda silly, until like 100-150 years ago it was men who on average lived longer despite wars being more frequent. The "biological disposition" in this context is not really static but something that can change with technological advancements.

That is not the case though, a rape simply not being proven is not enough (as it should not) to convict the accuaser of a false accusation, the false accusation must be proven as well (by confession or concrete evidence). That's how we reach the conclusion of only 2% of rape cases being false accusation because only 2% are proven to be false, similary rape also has a low conviction rate because it's not an easy crime to prove, vast majority of cases are neither proven right nor false

Well the prominent figures and organizations aren't really more innocent for this than "reddit feminists" either, it's so easy to find dozens if not hundreds of hateful statements and discrimating actions by them. To me influential figures represent a movenent better than both self identified KAM feminists and self identified feminists who are more egalitarian, anyone can call themselves feminists but being regarded as an important figure in the movement is different.

It's important to understand that this movement wasn't born out of hatred for men, but rather out of widespread misogyny in South Korea, both at the societal and state levels. I love how it's always a "reaction" "rage bait" or "venting frustration" when it comes to hatred towards men and boys from women. As if there is no widespread misandry in that country both at the societal and state level, we are talking about a country where there is 2 years of mandatory military service for all men.

We are already tone policing to a point that doing more would be perceived as "mods being power hungry" "no discussion is allowed in this echo chamber". If you see something that promotes hate based on immutable characteristic then report it and we'll remove it as soon as we see it, other than that I'm gonna remove any comment for not being "left-wing enough" for your taste, we are already removing severals posts a week for being low effort/off topic

Conscription, and absolutely no one takes issues like male victims of domestic and sexual abuse because majority of people don't believe it's possible, and many people from other countries believe it's impossible for men to be discriminated in any way in "patriarchal" middle eastern countries.

I mean I think we should celebrate first that some men can actually become single fathers by choice, while a lot of single men can't even adopt a child before we start ranting about the state of society and marriage, let sociologists or tradcons or whatever complain about those issues, we are male advocates our job is not to fix the society or the institution of marriage, our job is to fight discrimination against men.

/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/07/25 04:03 AM
20

But if we're judging feminists by the worst of feminists, then we gotta judge men by the worst of men. Men and feminists aren't equivalent groups, one is a group based on immutable characteristics, the other is an ideology, a movement that its members choose to be a part of. And we commit the majority of sexual assault and violent crime, so... Literal racist talking points.

This has to be one of the most pathetic attemps of accusing this sub of hate, last two comments are taking a jab people who call women "the more empathetic gender" not claiming that they are the less empathetic gender, the others aren't even targetting a spesific group.

The only thing that offended me is that anyone thinks men and black people are interchangeable words. No it's more like most people here think men and any x group of immutable characteristics are interchangeable and making negative generalization about any of them should be unacceptable. I think I approached this as best i could as a woman. Your gender has nothing to do with your approach

I haven't been following him too much recently but from what I remember, he doesn't really acknowledge any systematic issues faced by males, his primary concern (just many other ''male mental health experts'') seems to be preventing males from descending into ideologies that can harm society as whole rather than directly helping them, and again just like other ''experts'' he sounds like he thinks there's something inherently wrong with males and how they (or how they don't) express themselves. EVERYTHING about men’s life is running from the truth that they are weaker and less needed and they spend their lives proving their worth. Why call something that doesn't benefit men as a whole patriarchy then? traditional gender roles is a perfectly good term to describe that, especially when patriarchy is often used in an oppressor-oppressed dichotomy by feminists, it's impossible to expect people to empathize with the struggles of men while having no problem with that term being used casually.

You are giving too much credit to the right, they don't really accept men or care about men, they are just good at pretending so. What makes you think it's inevitable for society to collapse if men were to be liberated from their gender roles? What are the "fundememtal differences" between men and women to you and how much of those differences are due to nature and not nurture in your opinion? To keep it short I can say that I'm pro equality, feminism and red pill critical, economically left leaning, socially progressive, I reject the existence of a patriarchy, I think manosphere is a made up term to lump up all anti-feminist/feminism critical groups that don't even have much in common. Obviously I can't speak for everyone here but I think most people here align with most of those positions I mentioned above.

The claim that men lack solidarity is literally the part I didnt disagreed with. You are accusing men as a whole of objectifying women and viewing them them as conquests.

I agree that men have serious problem with lacking ''gender-conciousness'' that many men failing to realize that might be facing issues based on their sex, and also lacking in group bias (not that having too much of it is a good thing either) However, this post is quite reductive and quite generalizing/sterotyping with comments like this: > They're hellbent on viewing life as a zero-sum game competition, which causes them to view women as conquests and other men as threats to be neutralized. > E…

I think this will result in a significant drop in activity in this sub, in my opinion posting examples from social media should be fine as long as personal information is sufficiently redacted or they are not obvious rage bait/satire (then again, remember Poe's law). I am doing no such thing. I'm saying that men have a responsibility to each other to check each other on moronic incitements to violence before women punish them for it. I am not more responsible than anyone else for policing shitty behaviour of other people just because they happen to have same genitals. If someone tells you they're coming after you, that's an explicit threat. Responding to explicit threats of violence by defending yourself is rational and just, regardless of whether you're a m…

Exact example of what we've been saying here, you are holding men as a whole responsible for this and justifying hate speech against them, this is misandry, if your and their problem was with the likes of Nick Fuentes they'd be directing their ''two-fold satire'' at him not all men and you wouldn't be here justifying KAM but we all know your and their problem is with all men instead.

Oddly enough, I have not seen any examples of men saying this, online or irl. I have only ever seen people complaining about it. Don't you know? when it's a handful of alt right nutjobs saying such things (male or female) it's "men", when it's a prominent feminist figure or a rando saying something blatantly hateful against males and getting hundred thousands of likes it's just "some irrelevant crazies" or "male trolls pretending to be women"

I don't endorse this kind of arguments, even if it might be coming from a place of concern, it can come of as a threat to some people besides from a male advocacy perspective our focus of concern about radicalization of women with misandry should be men, not the (non-predictable) consequences for women.

That's only a rebuttal to my 3rd point, hardly. The problem with increasing monitorizing and arresting people based on it is; you might end up punishing more "innocents" than catching guilty ones that otherwise might slip through.

I think you are missing the point, the post itself isn't defending misogyny, there are 3 good reasons to critize it: The hypocrisy that the bill in question is championed by obvious misandrists like Jess Phillips. The fact that misandry isn't even being considered a problem meanwhile. And it should be discussed whether it's a good idea or not to let the government brand people as terrorists based on vaguely defined offenses like this, I personally think it'd be excessive to apply the same thing …

Height is (mostly) seen as an attractive feature in men, being attractive doesn't only give an advantage in dating but also in social interections in general and even in professional life. People seen as attractive are more likely to be successful in various fields of life, unfortunately judging a book by it's cover is too prevalent.

We think it means "fuck men" because a lot of your fellow feminists do often mean that. There seems to be no consensus on whatever the hell it means even among feminists themselves, some believe there is an oppressor/oppressed dichotomy, some just use it as an unnecessarily gendered version or traditional gender roles. It's just used as a motte and bailey, radfems keep demonizing all males then their "moderate" comrades, (not that they are any better, just less honest damage control operatives) …

Men were pushed to accept women with shorter hair, who wear pants and who work outside the home despite being of means. Why wouldn't the acceptable standard of men be able to move? Do you feel you are being forced to be attracted to women you don't find attractive? Do you think those qualities makes a woman unattractive to most men? ''Gang related'' doesn't make the majority, robberies etc has the biggest slice in the pie in most countries plus I don't really like the term it's mostly used as a lazy explaination by law enforcement for the cases they can not solve, especially for cases where the victims are men of color. How is there even a ''patriarchy'' when most men don't even benefit from it and face discrimination in many areas of society? There is no consensus about it's meaning even among feminists themselves, it can range from an oppressor/oppressed dichotomy or simply an unnecessarily gendered term for defining traditional gender roles, not to mention the amount of motte and bailey tactics used with it due to that very reason. How do you expect people to emphatize with men's issues if you go along with …

I could go on but my point is that misandry hurts women in two ways. On a large scale it feeds huge misogynistic movements and pushes hundreds of thousands of recruits into their ranks. It also makes men disinclined to help a group of people who have cast us as the de facto villains in their story. The only reason more men don't turn away is because of manipulation and browbearing, from both women and other men. I mean it doesn't really cause that big of a reaction though, most men are incredibl…

And not realizing bashing on men as a whole doesn’t help women. does it really hurt them though? sure what we do here is opposing misandry but framing it as ''it doesn't help women'' is sort of centering things around women again.

Most people here, myself included, are not a big fan of the term 'ally' we feel that implies one can't truly be a part of an advocacy group (and only can be allies from outside) unless they from the demographic that they advocate for. If you want to support male advocacy you can call yourself it without needing to use the word ally. Do you think women shouldn’t be protected from violent men? That's a major leap, the protection in question there are laws/practices that are gendered and at at the expense of others i.e: gender definitions of rape, gendered approach to dv, segregating transwomen from cis women and and discriminating against male immigrants/refugees. This sub should just drop the “left wing” already TIL, calling out transphobia of conservatives (and some feminists) is a very Right wing position.

"not all" logic is acceptable to use for literally any other demographic than men (as it should be), it's just malicious to attack people for not going along with you after you not only have generalized but also collectively blamed their entire demographic, but here is the thing going defensive and saying "not all of us are like that" you should be on offensive and call them out for being the bigot they are.

The problem is not feminism lacks advocation for males (we are way past the point of expecting that), the problem is it often advocates for discrimination against them, keeps demonizing them and constantly engages in hate speech against them and attempts to silence and deplatform any voice of male advocacy that is not controlled by themselves. Sounds cool on theory but lets be real it wont work, we are way past the point (more like since the begining) of asking feminists to be fair and balanced, so we need to focus on our group and our group only, the moment you show too much support or empathy outside of your group you lose. Anybody can be an abuser. Yes they can, would you be OK with a group of men sharing sensitive and potentially one sided information about women to "protect their fellow men from abusive women?" I personally wouldnt, the end doesn't justify the means, it's immoral, illegal and breaks the TOS of pretty much every online platform in existence. so it's not a surprise a ladies groups will keep trolling you with such a posts like the one screenshotted above. This is not some simple "trolling", this is…

1-) All the data about men in those groups are one sided, there is no way a a huge amount of defamation not going on there. 2-) Not every data there is about them being abusive or not, some include private information so there is also invasion of privacy. 3-) We all know how the reception would be if it was on reverse.

Or is your argument that women are inferior altogether and should be excluded from military service? No, but I am curious how you managed to reach to that conclusion. Your post/comment was removed, because it demonized women. Explicit hateful generalizations such as “All Women Are Like That” are not allowed. Generalizations are more likely to be allowed when they are backed by evidence, or when they allow for diversity within the demographic. You can read the subreddit's mission statement, saying feminism is synomous with left wing is laughable, general consesus here is economically left wing, socially progressive people who feel feminism is not egalitarian unlike it claims to be and this place exists to fill the void of progressive and non feminist male advocacy

Your post/comment was removed, because it demonized women. Explicit hateful generalizations such as “All Women Are Like That” are not allowed. Generalizations are more likely to be allowed when they are backed by evidence, or when they allow for diversity within the demographic. "Like "surplus of single men is a threat to society", for instance. Definitely an interesting topic, so long as it's mostly descriptive or focused on the epidemic of male loneliness. I often see it turn into creepy ideas for social policies to "correct the numbers" and that's where things fall apart." My problem with that talking point is it just demonizes single males arguing that they are dangerous. Some male advocates also make that point thinking it would raise awareness for male loneliness …

Try to avoid generalizing language like "it's just what women sterotype" , "male gaze" is a term used by feminists and a lot of male feminists use it too so saying "it's what feminists sterotype" or "it's what some women sterotype" would be better.

If men dont have any power no one will advocate for them because people dont empathize with them, it seems to me only way to successfuly fight against anti male discrimination and misandry is to have people who understand it in positions of power or convincing people who are already in power. Waiting for getting "discriminated enough" to get people understand is a lost cause because most people will never it's "enough" and you wont have any power to change anything yourself when that happens.

Unfortunately I disagree, feminists have power and influence more than ever. People believe their lies (like wage gap) more than even 5 years ago. Almost all mainstream voices bringing up male issues are feminist controlled and usually talk about trivial stuff to delegitimize the idea of men are discriminated against. Misandry is so normalized that mainstream media can uncritically interview an author publishes a book called "I hate men" or praise an attempted murderer who advocated for reducing…

Men make up only 3% of alimony recipients Men make up 15% of child support recipients It's also funny feminists love talking about how half of child supports payments dont even make it to the recipient to dismiss MRA arguments about family court when men are less likely to actually receive the child support from their ex spouses after being awarded by the court
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates13/03/23 03:02 PM

thats probably what it is, usually people who talk about "boys not doing well" instead of how much educational system is discriminating against them are feminist tools to normalize male underachievement in education and push the narrative of the problem is with the boys themselves not the educational system

The problem is that it's not an even institution, and everyone knows it. If a marriage breaks down then the income earner [who is male almost always] takes a real hit while the kid nurturer gets a huge benefit. No need to make it sound like it's gender neutral when it's not, apperantly in U.S. women outearn their husbands in 40% marriages but for some reason men pay 97% of alimony and 85% of childsupport, the system is not against breadwinners the system is against men.

It honestly can be better to be this way, i know it probably sucks that you don't feel confident enough to take necessary steps to "take your relationships to the next stage" but I always say that being seen as oblivious or even dumb is better than being seen as someone who "makes people uncomfortable by misinterpreting their actions" (I know thats not you but once people start rumouring it your social life might get ruined). So my advice would be: leave those steps to women, let them initiate, …

That's my point, people who in fact promote inequality misuse “feminism” to appeal to voters, but they are not feminists. Your example of “democratic republics” solidifies my point, that these are not really democratic republics even though they call themselves “democratic.” Feminism is being similarly misused today, and then people despise feminism because of that. In my analogy, "equality" is "democracy" and feminism is the government using that label to appeal to voters or in their case suppo…

> Feminism is defined by opposition to discrimination based on gender. definitions do not always portray things accurately, many dictatorships call themselves ''democratic republics'', people with racist views usually dont call themselves racist, in fact harmful movements often define their ''official'' positions as something noble and innocent, because they get more support that way. > As for anti-male rhetoric in “feminism,” it depends on what do you take as “feminist” literature. Are we really in a position to claim that they are not real feminists? Personally I don't think I am as I'm not a feminist, they are people who say that they are feminists, they are people who are widely seen as prominent and influental feminists. Besides, misandry in feminism is not limited to modern day, even since the 1st wawe there were extreme and abundant examples of anti male rhetoric in feminism.

Nobody wants conscription, men or women, and it has nothing to do with feminism. It has something to do with feminism as they they don't want women to be conscripted, personally I think no one should be conscripted against their will but it doesn't end there, if feminists are for abolishing conscription, then why the government entirely made up by self proclaimed feminist women in Finland not only haven't abolished their male only mandatory military service but also stated that they have no plan…

When the entire narrative about gender issues in the past is from feminist perspective, I'm skeptical of many claims. If we lived in 2100 and if only feminists perspectives of gender issues reached to that day, we would think women had it terrible in 2020s they were all oppressed by the evil men.

Apparently a marriage counselor had focused on that idea for fixing their marriage, which basically amounts to 'do whatever the woman wants, and hope that when she's fulfilled enough that she will then address the man's problems'. extremely negative connotations the term unfortunately has, largely due to being associated by those on the Right. Those negative connotations are thanks to feminists and the mainstream media that supports them constantly smearing it poorly constructed or just outright baseless accusations.
